It's the time of the year again when nearly every golf cart in the United States, or so it feels, flocks to Roger Dean and crowds the backstops, getting one last look at the top players in the country before the spring season. Below our staff breaks down every pool as we are set to release them in 10 minute increments, starting with Pool A and working all the way down to Pool DD. Once again laying claim as the champion of "Jupiter" will be no easy task as every pool game will be a battle just to advance to the bracket where the intensity of each pitch will multiple 10-fold.

Projected Pool Winner: Stacked Baseball/Kansas City Royals Scout Team

The No. 1 ranked 17u team at the end of the summer season, Stacked is coming off a dominant summer that culminated in a run rule victory in the finals of the 17u WWBA. They put up an offensive onslaught during that week in Marietta and they look primed once again to make a deep run in a national tournament. They boast three players ranked in the top 100, PG All-Americans Jose Partida & Parker Leoff along with Joshua Priest, and eleven players nationally ranked within the top 500. Leoff won MVP honors during the 17u WWBA and the dearth of experience and length of offensive contributors give Stacked as good a chance as anyone when it comes to taking the Jupiter crown.

Dark Horse: Spects National 2027 Gominsky

The Spects always bring a quality roster down to Jupiter and this is a team that won the 2025 WWBA Underclass World Championship just one fall ago. They boast five players nationally ranked within the top 500 led by Arkansas commit Charlie Sarsfield, the 2025 WWBA Underclass MVP and 2026 Iowa Gatorade state player of the year. There is pitching depth to this roster as well, led by Stanford commit Beckett Shimpa, the Spects rostered eleven primary arms, so they will have options to get them through games.

What to Look for: Stacked’s quest for both WWBAs

Winning Jupiter or the 17u WWBA is difficult enough in and of itself, trying to do both in the same year is nearly unprecedented. Stacked will face stout competition in pool play and if they make bracket from there the challenge becomes even more daunting. It’s a hard pair of championships to pull off but this roster looks fit to do so.

Uncommitted Gems: East Cobb Underclass

With the way the new recruiting calendar works, the junior class was able to begin committing to colleges about two months ago. East Cobb’s underclass roster boasts many of the top 2028s in the country, thirteen nationally ranked players, all of whom are newly eligible to commit. The Astros were a top 20 travel team over the summer and this will be a must-see team for schools looking to bolster their 2028 class.

Projected Pool Winner:  TB SoCal

TB SoCal heads across the country with a pretty deep group of talent, with a dozen players currently committed to colleges. The pitching depth should be a big strength for TB SoCal. Five committed arms will be heading to Jupiter for TB SoCal, with Tyson Connelly (UC Irvine), Cooper George (TCU), Ben Lewis (Oklahoma State), Cooper Stevenson (TCU) and Shane Wendler (USC) all capable of eating innings.  Michael Aleman, Robert Bering, Caden Lauridsen, are three uncommitted arms that have given good looks over the past year and are intriguing pitching options for TB SoCal.

TB looks strong up the middle with recent decommit Maddon De La Cruz, Chase Mattoon (Stanford), and Mitch Circuit (Santa Clara) heading to Jupiter all showing well both defensively and in the box.  John Sullivan (UCLA) and Ty Glaus (2029, FL) are lefty sticks with some thump on the corners that can impact out in Florida. The lineup has a bunch of depth to go to with plenty of options to work matchups depending on pitching, the catching exemplifies this with two committed backstops in Luke Bacon (Washington State) hitting from the left side, and Ryan Burgess (Cal Baptist) from the right. The depth in all facets of the game have me picking TB SoCal to win pool B.

Dark Horse: eXposure 18U National

eXposure 18U looks like squad that may hit there way to the top of Pool B down in Jupiter, lead by Virginia commit, and PG All American William Weber. Weber has had a massive 2026 in PG events with a 1487 OPS, 19 extra base hits and 6 home runs. Look for him to be a staple in the heart of the lineup for eXposure.  Wyatt Jones is another thumper, an Auburn commit that is currently the top ranked outfielder in the state of Tennessee, and like Weber, he’s shown a feel to hit and has launched 11 home runs in PG events in 2026.  Seth Hooks is another lefty bat, committed to Liberty that eXposure will rely on as more of a table setter. He’s posted a 467 OBP in 2026 with 13 swipes in 14 attempts.

On the mound, the eXposure rotation is anchored by Gaven French (Tennessee commit), who can run the heater up to 94, and 2028 uncommitted righty Hudson Brown who’s not only posted a sub 3 era at PG events, but he’s also put up an OPS of 1317 in 71 AB’s, showing legitimate two way abilities. Coleman Smith is another underclass, uncommitted arm out of Tennessee eXposure will look to to eat up innings. With a 6’3”/225 pound frame, the #4 ranked RHP in the state definitely has the look of an innings eater.

What to Watch for: Can Top Tier pitch their way to the top of Pool B

Top Tier heads to Jupiter with a trio of committed arms that will be relied upon to pitch well in order for them to succeed in bracket play. Three of their top four ranked players come in to the event as pitchers, with Camden Boehm currently ranked at 164 in the country. Committed to Mississippi, Boehm is an athletic, 6’3” righty that can also swing the stick. On the mound, he’s posted a 1.58 ERA over his career in PG events, with 206 strikeouts over 168 1/3 frames, running the fastball to 93.  Traxton Roberts is currently the #4 ranked RHP in Illinois for the 2027 class that’s a Kentucky commit. He impressed recently at the Area Code Games showing a four pitch mix with a fastball that missed bats living 91-93. Georgia Tech commit Anthony Iatarola is a lefty that has punched out 90 over 55 2/3 innings of work in PG events. He offers a three pitch mix with some deception in the delivery.

Uncommitted Gem: Aiden Tavares, Inf, Foothill HS (2028)

Tavares has the blend of present strength with more projection to come, while showing he can perform at a high level on the field. In 57 games at PG events, he’s put up an 1186 OPS. He hasn’t really pitched in PG events, but showed well in an Org Showcase (last year) where he ran the fastball up to 91 with a pretty good delivery and pretty good secondaries. Not really viewed as an arm, he did show plenty of arm there to handle the left side of the infield.

Projected Pool Winner: Dirtbags 2027 National

The Dirtbags look to repeat their deep run in Jupiter again this year after making their quarterfinals run in 2026. This group has more than enough talent to get there and beyond, boasting 27 commits on their roster. The offense will look to be led by five players ranked inside the top 500, led by outfielders Brandon Bush (258), North Carolina commit, Caleb Lynn (477), UNC-Wilmington commit, and infielders Nick Machusko (320), Virginia commit, Judah Shirlen (422), Vanderbilt commit, and catcher Cole Bowman (454), Virginia Tech commit. Uncommitted Rylan Ulrich will also look to be a force on both sides of the ball coming into the event hitting .448/.519/.701 on the year, and on the mound has run the fastball up to 95 with 64 strikeouts in 47 innings. They also boast a ton of pitching depth with 10 arms that can get up to at least 90. The staff will be led by right-handers, North Carolina State commits Holt Gaston and Stone Massey, Elijah Martin, College of Charleston commit, and Benjamin Samuels, Duke commit. Martin has run it up to 92 and with a mid- 70s curveball with depth and solid two-plane break. The Dirtbags come out again with another deep roster as they look to continue their winning ways with another deep run.

Dark Horse: Cangelosi Sparks

Cangelosi has all the pieces to pull off the upside in this pool after putting together a strong showing at the Midwest Champions Cup where they made a deep run. The offense will be led by third baseman Brady Cunningham, Texas A&M commit, middle infielder Carson Trivellini, Illinois commit, and shortstop Andrew Talbert, North Carolina commit. The offense comes in averaging about six runs per game and six players currently with an OPS of 1.000+. Uncommitted Collin Lawlor (ranked 374) has impressed with the two-way upside, running the fastball up to 89 with 23 strikeouts in 14 innings and is hitting .312/.522/.594 with a double, triple, and two home runs to drive in 15 RBI this year in 16 games. The staff will be led by University of Illinois-Chicago commit, Austin Winge (ranked 475), uncommitted, right-handed pitcher Russell Hengels who has been up to 91 recently, left-handed pitcher James Benson, TCU commit, and right-hander Logan Mackin, Northern Illinois commit. Cangelosi always competes well and have a lot of players from their quarterfinal run in 2026 returning with the experience gained and will look to make a deep run once again.

What to Look for: Depth on Both Sides of the Ball.

All four teams in this pool come in with highly ranked rosters and tons of notable names which should make these highly competitive and close games throughout pool play. From BPA being led by Jake Cueto, Ole Miss commit Quincy Pratt, and uncommitted shortstop Preston Cole. To Team Georgia led by three top 500 commits, first baseman Juan Carlos Leon, Stetson, Zachary Lepine, Texas Tech, and outfielder Sebastian Rodriguez, Gardner-Webb. To the stacked rosters of Cangelosi and the Dirtbags. The team that makes it out will be the team that can control and maximize their arms to help shut down the opposing offenses and fill the innings with quality pitching so they can advance out of pool play and try to make a deep run into bracket play.

Uncommitted Gems:

Preston Cole (2027, St. Augustine, Fla) is an uncommitted name that should get a lot of attention going into and during this event for BPA. The right-handed hitting shortstop comes in slashing .333/.375/.533 in 11 games in 2026, with four doubles and a triple to drive in 10 RBI. Has an athletic 6-foot-2, 182-pound. Defensively has great arm strength with elite level carry and good tempo to his actions. In the box, has shown big bat speed in the box with easy power when he’s squared to both the middle-of-the-field and to the pull-side.

Peter Pignatiello (2028, Wheaton, Ill.) is an underclass name on the Cangelosi roster that should also get some attention during the event. The shortstop is currently ranked at 186 in the 2028 class and is slashing .344/.440/.719 this year in 23 games with eight doubles, two triples, and four home runs to drive in 19 runs. In the box, the left-handed hitter shows an efficient and repeatable path with real barrel feel and bat speed with hard contact to the middle-of-the-field in the air. Defensively shows soft hands with clean glove actions and solid arm strength and accuracy.

Projected Pool Winner: MLB Breakthrough Series 2027

The MLB Breakthrough Series year in and year out brings down one of the top rosters in Jupiter and 2026 is no different. They have 15 players ranked inside the top-500, split up between the 2027 and 2028 graduating classes. That’s what normally makes this roster so intriguing is their blend of upperclass and underclass talent and they once again have some of the top underclassmen in the country rostered for this event. They are headlined by a pair of LSU commits in Devyn Downs and Zowen Watson along with seven other P4 commitments and eleven commitments in total on this roster. They were an easy choice as the projected pool winner with this amount of talent both on the mound and at the plate.

Dark Horse: GRB Rays 18u National

This was a tough choice as with every pool in Jupiter, the talent in this pool is incredible. It was between the GRB Rays and the Wow Factor Underclass group for my dark horse and the only thing giving the edge to GRB is the experience with a majority of 2027 prospects on this roster. We’ve seen Midwest teams have a good amount of success in Jupiter and this group has a chance to recreate that this year. They have 16 commitments on this roster with a handful heading to P4 programs and what makes this a very enticing pick is that they have six arms over 90 mph with 12 other arms consistently in the upper-80s. They’ll be able to pitch with almost anybody in the event and have a strong chance to take home this pool when it’s all said and done.

What to Watch For: Underclass Prospects

This is a trend that we’ve seen for the past few years that the underclassmen are really impacting this event in a major way. You look at the MLB Breakthrough roster and not only do they have some of the top 2028 prospects rostered for Jupiter but they also have two of the top 2029’s coming as well in Paris Head and Terrell Hampton-Hall. It would be difficult to talk about underclass prospects in this pool without mentioning the Wow Factor 17u group. They’re bringing down a talented group headlined by four players in the top-100 in the 2028 rankings. Madden Pike, Austin Maiden, Hank Drew, and Ty Madden are those four players and will give pro scouts a good look into the future as they perform in a pressure cooker of an event. This trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon and we’re excited to see these underclassmen compete in the best tournament atmosphere in travel baseball.

Uncommitted Gem: Jaxon Haynes

Haynes was the easy choice with uncommitted gem portion of this article. He checks a lot of boxes as a prospect and is a monster projection left-handed bat college coaches should be watching throughout the week. He’s 6-foot-1, 175-pounds with gap-to-gap strength right now and has flashed even bigger at times throughout the summer circuit. He certainly looks the part with a high waist and even more strength coming in the near future. Not only is he one of the top uncommitted prospects coming to Jupiter, he’s one of the tops in the class and should have a commitment next to his name soon.

Projected Pool Winner: FTB Phillies 2027

The Phillies bring a loaded squad to Jupiter with plenty of depth to the talent on both sides of the ball. The vast majority of the roster hails from the southeast and Florida in particular with a handful of exceptions. The squad is headlined by a trio of PG All-Americans in Kinon Bastian, Christian Gomez, and Harry Chubb Jones Jr. Bastian will hit in the middle of the order and has just about as much in game power as you will see at this level. Gomez is a pure left-handed hitter with a beautiful stroke and juice, coming off of a huge summer. Jones is one of the most tooled up players in the class and is a talented shortstop as well as an arm who has been up to 97 on the mound. Florida commit and southpaw Colin DiRocco will head the arms and is accompanied by some very talented underclassmen in Isaias Torres, Caleb Polk, and Jhon Rodriguez. The team feels very well-rounded with power both at the plate and on the bump, as well as strong defenders who can pick it like TCU commit Blake Ragsdale.

Dark Horse: Boston Red Sox Scout Team

The Boston Red Sox Scout Team organization is bound to always bring an extremely talented group down to Jupiter and this year is no exception. One thing for certain is there will be no lack of weapons within the arms department. Auburn commit Owen Burnes is a southpaw with a full mix who can really pitch and put away lineups. Paul Barnett is a two-way with juice in the bat and immense upside as a power right-handed pitcher, already up to 96 MPH. Tennessee commit Jack Nicholls and Alabama commit Hunter Finck both can bring it and will likely be a large part of the equation. There are plenty of other arms worth mentioning in addition to a littering of power 4 position player commits from the northeast such as Massachusetts natives Lucas Sarno and Charlie Scott. As many know, in a tournament like this it is crucial to have a plethora of depth on the mound and this is a team with just that.

What to Watch For: How much of an impact will the Phillies underclassmen play?

Although all four teams possess their share of talented 2028’s, it is the Phillies who will most notably look to several underclassmen to serve major roles. Isaias Torres, Jhon Rodriguez, and 2029 Caleb Polk can all throw smoke and will likely need to fill a good number of innings across the tournament. Much of the offensive production will be provided by underclassmen as well and as it is Jupiter, there will be an abundance of power arms to challenge them. Aiden Kearney, the #8 ranked player in the 2028 class always performs and batted an absurd .490 on the summer circuit while playing up at 17U for two tournaments. Miami Evan Alexander will handle much of the catching duties and two-way Torres is also a left-handed slugger with serious power.

Uncommitted Gem: Isaias Torres, RHP/1B, FTB Phillies 2027

Torres should be on the short list for top targets in the 2028 class given the impact he has shown regularly on both sides of the ball, easily capable of translating at the next level. The Florida product stands at a massive 6-foot-4, 225-pounds with tons of strength throughout. Torres typically lives in the low-90s and has been up to 94. He holds the velocity deep into starts, pairing the heater with a slider and nasty splitter. A left-handed stick, he possesses burgeoning power and the ball explodes off of the barrel, launching three homers this summer.

Projected Pool Winner: CBU 2027 Scout Team

CBU 2027 Scout Team is coming off a deep run in the 17u WWBA National Championship during the summer, and they are expected to have another deep run this year in Jupiter. Headlining the offense is power bat, Sammy Echeverry, and Echeverry is coming off an absolutely blistering summer season. Echeverry was all over the barrel throughout the summer and hit a whopping 6 homers with 17 RBIs during the week of WWBA. His bat will be an intriguing watch throughout the week, but CBU has a solid position group with some offensive firepower. Some more names in the lineup that are expected to make an impact are Lucas Farrar and Moises Gudino. These guys provide plenty of versatility in the lineup, and the pitching staff will be fun to watch as well. The pitching staff is headlined by Auburn commit Alex Wise, and the stuff will be an intriguing look. Wise has been up to 94 mph with the fastball and goes to a slider north of 2500 RPM for the primary off-speed pitch. Some more names to keep a look out for on the pitching staff are Kaleb Stockwell, Jack Franklin, Preston Matricardi, and Peyton Warner. The staff has a total of 9 guys up to 90 mph or higher, giving them plenty of options throughout pool play.

Dark Horse: Trosky/Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team

Trosky/Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team has plenty of talent to compete in the pool, and the team is headlined by switch-hitting outfielder, Valentín Carrasquillo. Carrasquillo has tools that show up often on the diamond, featuring 6.4 speed with a cannon from the outfield. Carrasquillo also has plenty of feel for the barrel with the ability to impact the baseball to all fields, and if he’s able to find the gaps it’ll be interesting to see the speed in games. The rotation will be something to watch out for as well, with West Virginia commit Kadyn Hines leading the way. Hines has a quick arm with an efficient delivery on the hill and has the ability to put together a big outing on the mound. The arms will be a key piece for Trosky/Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team to give them an advantage in the pool.

What to look for: Pitching Depth

The pitching depth always proves to play a big factor in Jupiter. All four teams in the pool have arms capable of putting together big outings. NEB Rays has 15 pitchers at 85 mph or higher, showing solid depth to the staff. The rotation will be led by Riley Verderber, a 6-foot-6 right-handed pitcher committed to Michigan State. Verderber has the ability to go and get NEB Rays a win, so he will be a name to watch out for on the hill. Another arm in the pool is East Cobb Astros’ Joshua McCall, a L.B. Wallace CC commit. McCall has the stuff to pitch at a high level with the fastball up to 92 and pairs that pitch with a sharp breaking ball. McCall has had some trouble with working in the zone, but if he’s in the zone he has the stuff to carry the Astros to a win.

Uncommitted Gem: Cruz Adams

Adams, a native of Orem, Utah, is an uncommitted ’28 grad with notable tools at the plate and on the mound. Adams has been up to 90 mph on the mound with a 6-foot-3 200-pound frame. The body on the mound projects to continue to add velocity, and another velocity jump could be in the near future. At the plate, Adams has plenty of pop to the bat, putting up numbers with both the power and contact during WWBA. During that week, he tallied four homers and boasted a batting average of .500.

Projected Pool Winner: FTB National

In a pool that could go back-and-forth until the very end, FTB National has the best chance to end up in the top of the standings and secure their spot in the playoff rounds. With plenty of D1 commits both on the position and pitcher side, the overall strength of this team is what stands out. Notable arm in LHP Nolan Brown (Vanderbilt commit) leads the way for this staff as he’s been lights out for multiple starts over the summer, generating plenty of swings and misses with his low 90s fastball and off-speed stuff. The offensive side is where this FTB National team brings its true calling card to the table as players like outfielder Rylan Sutton (Mississippi commit) and shortstop Anthony Badillo (Virginia Tech commit) will lead the charge in that department. Additionally, nationally ranked 2028 (No. 45) outfielder Hudson Oliver brings an intriguing left-handed bat to the lineup that could be a difference maker.

Dark Horse: Swarm Red Elite Premier 2027

Coming from the Grand Canyon State all the way across the country, Swarm Red Elite Premier 2027 will look to the depth and talent of its overall pitching staff (9 arms at 90+) to carry them through pool play and into the next round. Led by their top arms in Soren Etheridge (Wake Forest commit) and Gray Davis (Clemson commit), the ability to have trust not only in their starters, but to be able to look to their bullpen for big outs as well will play a critical role. On the offensive side, Dreson Ethier (Miami commit) has been known for his ability to consistently produce not only as a gap-to-gap hitter, but showing present power as well with an advanced approach. His impact up the middle defensively and on the base paths should be noted as well. Erik Moo (St. Mary’s commit) also brings the power to the lineup as the physical outfielder can change the game with one swing, demonstrating legit power to the pull side.

What to Look for: Overall uncommitted 2027s

Littered throughout all four teams are plenty of prospects in the 2027 class that may not be ranked in the top 300/400 in their class nationally, but have been identified as players who have stood out against similar competition, noted for their individual performances. Whether it be in the form of a slick fielding SS with power like Derrick Taveras (FTB National), an athletic backstop with juice in Owen Eastwood (Scorpions Team Easton 2027), an arm up to 90 mph with intriguing secondary stuff in Howie Donoho (Royals Scout Team 2027), or a physical outfielder that can drive in runs in Brennan Prendergast (Swarm Red Elite Premier 2027) there are plenty of options to follow and track throughout the event.

Uncommitted Gem: Vaka Tameilau, FTB National 2028

After a strong summer showing where he performed at multiple big name events, Tameilau will be an arm that will be circled at the top of the list for coaches to see as he not only has ran his fastball up to 93 mph recently, but has shown an above average feel for the rest of his arsenal. Mostly sits in the upper 80s, low 90s but it’s the combination of his slider and changeup that separates him from some of his other counterparts in the class. The slider in the low 80s features sharp, late action and a high spin rate (2600+ RPM) while the changeup in the low 80s displays late fade with similar fastball arm speed. Works at a quicker pace with an athletic, easy working delivery and the frame projects for additional overall jumps to his overall stuff. A standout outing in Jupiter could very well push his current recruiting path to the next level and possible decision in the near future.

Projected Pool Winner: Florida Burn 2027 Scout

This lineup is loaded with a good mix of power hitting and speed that has a ton of opportunity to score runs. This is a squad who has played together for a long time, and if they get hot, look out for Burn. The arm talent here is special with twelve guys who will work anywhere from 87-91, led by Rj Shields who has been up to 95.

Dark Horse: Midland Redskins 2027

This group has chemistry and the talent to flip games against just about anyone. Highlighted by a deep group of catchers with Jackson Schilling, Keegan Sawyer, and Thomas Barnhart all committed to D1 schools. Look out for the 2028 middle infield duo of Brett Paciorek and Tommy Travers to have clean play and produce at the plate all week long.

What to Watch for: Clean play and Strike Throwing

I believe this pool could come down to the final game for every team in it, and we might not have a 3-0 pool winner here. The infielders in this group are very clean and most of them can play from the left and right sides of the diamond. The team who plays the cleanest typically will win games regardless, but I think that this will come down to the strike percentages and ability to stay away from errors on the defensive side.

Uncommitted Gem: Brett Paciorek

The pick here is Paciorek; he’s a versatile switch-hitting shortstop whose athleticism translates all over the field. Standing at a slick 6’0/165lbs, Paciorek can get the job done from both sides of the dish. Clean actions and great barrel accuracy and was a Preseason All-American this past year.

Scorpions 2027 Scout comes into Jupiter with a deep roster and plenty of high-end talent throughout the lineup and pitching staff. Jace Moran (RK 181) is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound left-handed bat and Florida commit who brings in-game juice and the ability to impact the baseball to all fields. He has strong hitting traits, present bat-to-ball skills and real power, with a smooth left-handed swing and good plate coverage. On the mound, William Haggerty (RK 160) is a 5-foot-10, 190-pound right-hander and Florida commit who brings a quality combination of stuff and pitch-ability from a three-quarter slot. His heavy fastball (up to 95mph) gets on right-handed hitters quickly and misses bats, while his sharp slider in the high 70s gives him a quality secondary offering. With six players ranked 90+, 11 more in the 85–89 range and 19 committed players, Scorpions 2027 Scout has the depth to make a deep run in Jupiter.

Dark Horse: Trosky National Scout

Trosky National Scout has the talent to challenge for the top spot despite entering the pool as the No. 3 seed. Bryson Casto is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound shortstop and Marshall commit who covers a ton of ground and shows a smooth left-handed stroke that impacts baseballs at a high rate. His accurate barrel, athleticism and range give him a strong top-of-the-lineup profile. On the mound, Trent Chris brings a physical 6-foot-2, 200-pound build and is an Oregon State commit who gives Trosky National Scout a quality left-handed arm with consistent control and game-long durability. The fastball has been up to 89 mph. With nine players ranked 90+, 13 players ranked 85–89, 24 Top 500 players and 17 commits, Trosky has plenty of depth across the roster and could make things difficult for every team in this pool.

What to Watch For: Canes National 17U with a Roster Full of 2028’s

Canes National 17U brings one of the youngest rosters in the pool, with the entire group made up of 2028 graduates. Grant Arnold is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound Georgia commit who gives the lineup a premier bat in the middle of a young roster. The primary backstop has real left-handed juice and impressive strength, holding his angles well and getting the bat head out on time with an inward trigger and barrel whip through the zone. On the mound, Clayton Moore is a 6-foot-2, 178-pound North Carolina State commit with a smooth, athletic right-handed delivery and plenty of feel for the strike zone. His fastball has life (up to 91 mph), while his mid-to-high-70s curveball has hard downward action, solid vertical depth and some horizontal bite. With an abundance of talent throughout the roster, it will be interesting to see how this young Canes group handles playing up against some of the event's older rosters.

Uncommitted Gem: Tyce Johnson

One of the more intriguing uncommitted names in the pool, Tyce Johnson is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound shortstop who brings an athletic profile and polished all-fields approach to the position. Johnson ran a 6.71 in the sixty-yard dash, posted 90 mph infield velocity and recorded a 92 mph exit velocity, showing the physical tools to impact the game on both sides of the ball. His semi-rigid setup can be misleading, as he showed the ability to change planes with loud results and cover the plate with a hit-over-power profile, while still flashing quality juice and projecting for more power. Defensively, Johnson stood out at shortstop with advanced glove-to-hand exchanges, an easy takeaway and quick hands. The athletic frame, defensive actions and offensive approach give him an intriguing overall profile, and Jupiter provides a big stage for the uncommitted prospect to showcase his game.

Projected Pool Winner: Northeast Pride 2027 National

It’s hard to pick against a team that has the #30 prospect in the nation rostered in Leo Nockley, a budding superstar that constantly shows up in big moments. Don’t be fooled by the 5-foot-8, 165 pound frame; the Tennessee commit has plenty of juice to be found with athletic traits that jump off the page. He hit seven HRs in a twelve game span this Summer and is once again going to be a must watch in Jupiter. Nockley will be joined by other standout Northeast names like Connor Crittenden and Joey Dimeo, with Wake Forest commit Kyle McBride providing firepower on the mound featuring a low 90s FB and solid spin profile in the arsenal. This is a roster built to win, and fully expects to be one of the final teams standing when it’s all said and done.

Dark Horse: Brewers Langley Blaze

With lots of focus going to Leo Nockley as previously stated, the Brewers will walk into this pool with a chip on their shoulder. This is a squad who could very well make plenty of noise themselves, featuring five 90+ arms on the roster with two T100 prospects and four in the T300. This is a well-balanced team with no real weaknesses to be found, and is going to be a headache for opponents on both sides of the field. The offense will be driven by LSU commit Bryan Ravelo and ASU commit Rilen Niclai, both flashing high end bat speed with Niclai expected to create chaos on the bases as a 6.53 runner. Oklahoma commit and #82 ranked prospect Calum Anderson will join #53 Issac Vidal at the top of the rotation for Brewers, giving the boys a 1-2 punch that not many other rosters have. It’s clear that this squad has the star power to make a run, and is certainly not going to be a fun matchup for opponents who run into them.

What to Watch For: Veteran Presence

While some teams opt for young faces in Jupiter, that’s not the case for much of this pool- the 2027s will be on full display. What does that mean? Expect tightly contested matchups with players who have ‘been here before”, making for an intriguing round of pool play and beyond. With that being said, there’s more than 30 prospects over the four rosters in Pool J that are still uncommitted in the ‘27 class, further adding to the intrigue and potential fireworks we could see. One thing is for certain; committed or not, the Seniors in this pool with be laying it all on the line for a chance to make potentially their last travel ball appearance a historical one down in Jupiter.

Uncommitted Gem: Connor Crittenden

As briefly mentioned above, Connor Crittenden is going to be an important piece for Northeast Pride as a potential two-way presence on this roster. Standing at a well-built 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, the Philadelphia native has the ability to do damage with the long ball offensively while also running it up to 90 on the mound, pitching to a 1.17 ERA this Summer. There’s plenty to like as an arm here with natural running action to the FB and a high velocity ceiling for the future. If he can get it going with the bat, NE Pride has yet another weapon on a very clearly already stacked roster. Expect Crittenden to turn some heads next week.

Projected Pool Winner: East Cobb/SD Padres ST

Once again, the East Cobb/SD Padres ST will feature one of the most talented rosters in the entire WWBA World Championship. They bring a roster with them that consists of 29 Division 1 commits led by the No. 2 player in the class in shortstop Malachi Butler. The Georgia Tech commit will have a plethora of eyes on him as a potential Top 10 pick in the 2027 Major League Baseball Draft. Butler is joined by fellow PG All Americans in third baseman Sullivan Reed, outfielder Caden Dawson, catcher Brue Milner and the No. 1 ranked right-handed pitcher in the Georgia state class, Brennan Neal. Neal, an uber-athletic two-way talent and Auburn commit, will look to lead the staff that consists of 24 primary arms. East Cobb/SD Padres ST feature the talent on paper to not only win Pool K, but also bring a title back to Marietta, Georgia after falling to CBA Marucci in last year’s title game.

Dark Horse: Stix 2027 Scout

A team to watch this year in Pool K is Stix 2027 Scout, who head to Jupiter with a diverse roster that features six underclassmen including 2029 right-handed pitcher Holten Grider. Stix will be led by a pair of primary shortstops in Cole Flashnik (Arkansas) and Kenson Buth (Baylor)- both of whom have put up big offensive numbers during the ’26 PG circuit and will look to keep rolling in Jupiter. On the pitching side, the Southlake, Texas squad will feature seven 90+ mph arms and a wealth of uncommitted talent that are determined to make a big impression during the tournament.

What to Look for: Two-Way Players

Teams that make deep runs in Jupiter always feature players that can contribute on both sides of the ball. With the potential for nine games in five days, pitching depth is essential as teams look for clean games in pool play to set up the rotations during bracket play. Getting out of pool play unscathed and avoiding any setbacks are key to deep runs in the tournament. Regardless of how things unfold early in the tournament, position players that can provide innings on the bump set up their teams for success later in bracket play.

Uncommitted Gem:

Two-way player Chase Alonso from Tiger, Georgia is an uncommitted gem for East Cobb/SD Padres ST. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound primary shortstop from Rabun Gap Nacoochee brings size and strength to both sides of the ball with a compact stroke and leverage through the zone. A secondary right-handed pitcher, he routinely runs the fastball into the low-90s with a feel to spin a pair of breaking balls. Alonso’s talents will be on full display as a 2028 grad with present upside to compete and flourish at the next level.

Projected Pool Winner: Ghost National

Ghost National will enter pool play with one of the more well-rounded and versatile rosters of the bunch. The Jersey-based squad is littered with the top 2027 arms in the northeast such as right-handers Hunter West and Michael Fekete, along with southpaws Caleb Chesgreen and Cooper Jones. The bullpen is both deep and experienced, numbering 11 arms up above 90 mph with another half-a-dozen in the upper-80s. Ghost has 22 players in the Top 500—plenty of which look to wreak havoc on the offensive side of the ball. The LSU commit Ricky Lopez will hit near the top of the order and be expected to play a lock-down shortstop. Infielder Gio Ardizzone, outfielder Colin Axel-Adams and backstop Brayden Dean are a trio of Indiana natives that will look to bring their midwest firepower over to this Ghost lineup. Expect a gritty group of players to take the field down in Jupiter for Ghost National, with a real chance to make a deep run following pool play.

Dark Horse: CBU Scout Team

It is hard to consider CBU Scout Team a “dark horse” when this could very well be a two-horse race between them and Ghost National. With that being said, CBU will take the short drive up to Jupiter with an extremely talented lineup. The offense will be headed by outfielders Kade Maltz and Landen Harris, along with backstop Nico Ayars who swings a very consistent barrel. 2028 infielder Noah Harris has made real strides at the plate and will likely serve as a reliable top-of-the-order stick in this CBU lineup. The pitching staff is just as impressive, totaling 17 arms above 85 mph. 2029 right-hander Mason Pearce could be counted on to eat up important innings for the squad, along with 2028's Trigg Listerman and Jessie Feast. Despite their youth, no one would be surprised if CBU Scout Team goes 3-0 in pool play and carries that momentum deep into the bracket.

What To Look For: Midwest Impact

Halos National Upperclass will be making the trip down to Jupiter from Muskego, Wisconsin with a hungry roster of local prospects. A pair of right-handers in Derrik Beckstrand and Eli Dreier should be a fun watch as they look to flaunt their stuff against three talented lineups in pool play.

Some of Halos’ prospects have had limited exposure at PG events so they have a chance to make a bigger name for themselves in front of a lot of important eyeballs next week. For Ghost National, right-hander Lucas Collins is one of four midwest prospects that will be suiting up for the Jersey-based squad. The Liberty commit looks to take advantage of the opportunity and represent his region in a positive light.

Uncommitted Impact: Aidan Lesane

Lesane is one of the more talented third basemen still on the market in the 2027 class. He can play all three infield positions well with arm strength up to 88 mph across the diamond. The Georgia native wears a strong and athletic 6-foot frame with 6.75 speed. His feet and hands are soft in the dirt, and he swings a consistent barrel on the offensive side of the ball. Lesane hit .319 this summer with a .536 on-base percentage and 14 RBI across 26 games. The righty hitter whiffs just 15.7 percent of the time and is extremely comfortable when deep in counts. He offers a lot of intrigue on both ends with a versatile profile that can mold to any inquiring school.

Projected Pool Winner: Wow Factor/Toronto Blue Jays Scout 18U

While this pool can be anyone’s for the taking, lets just go with the obvious choice and that is the team loaded with talent top to bottom. The depth on this roster is unmatched and they bring in multiple PG All Americans with the likes of Sebastian Wilson, Max Hemenway, Colton Floyd and Blake Lundy. Wilson has some of the loudest tools across the board paired with innate bat to ball ability. He is one of the best hitters in the class and always performs no matter the moment. Hemenway is a premium athlete who plays a smooth short stop with a smooth lefty swing and power shows up often over the years. He should be a mainstay out there and does so many things right on both sides of the ball. Colton Floyd will bring the juice as he has shown over the years. The power can be unreal and I’d expect Floyd to be a big time run producer within the heart of this lineup. Blake Lundy has long been a big standout behind the dish and in the box and should continue to perform at a high level as the main backstop of this squad. We can keep going down the list as this team is littered with 21 D1 commits so the firepower does not just end with these four players. It takes more than just having a quality lineup to win this tournament and make it out of pool play. In essence, you need pitching depth and Wow Factor has exactly that. The rotation will be headlined by Casen Reedy who has been up clocked up to 97 and was dominant in his most recent PG outing. Ethan Suppi, John Eddis, Mason Woods, and Trevor Yancey will all be major contributors within this rotation. All these arms have been clocked in the 90s and are committed to high end Division 1 programs. Overall, Wow Factor is poised for a big year down in Jupiter and it would not be surprising to see them come out of the pool on top.

Dark Horse: Banditos 2027 Scout

On paper this team is young but do not let that fool you as this team knows how to perform and win games. On the offensive side of things, Dylan Mercado will lead the charge. Mercardo is a talented 2029 and one of the best hitters in his class and has the power to boot as well. It would not be surprising to see him do what he does even if he is playing up. The track record is clearly there. Creed Peoples is another play who while young can swing it with the likes of anyone. The power here is next level and I see no signs of that slowing down in Jupiter. Peoples should be a force within the lineup. Going down the list, Peyton Lopez, Artemio Mata, and Cole Marquardt have all been swinging it and should be core pieces within this young Banditos lineup. Again, do not be surprised if the Banditos make a run even with such a young roster. On the pitching side of things, the rotation will be headlines by Valentin Ceballos, Giovani Rodriguez, Ralph Ortiz, and Riley Brooks. Ceballos has shown how special he can be every time out. Rodriguez was a big popup arm who has been up to 91 and can really spin it with serious projection remaining. Ortiz is a power arm who can be explosive out of the pen and that fastball will play. There is plenty of depth within this rotation to get the job done. Overall, Banditos can easily be a big surprise and make it out of pool here if they all perform to their true potential.

What to Look for: Offensive firepower and Strong Pitching

All four teams within this pool have dudes with proven track records of success on both sides of the ball. Look for the bats to really perform and hit at a high level no matter the competition being faced. On the pitching side of things, these teams are littered with depth and should have no problem pumping out low to mid 90s arm at any given time. Not a single pool game within this pool will be free and I’d expect every game being played to come down to the last inning as every team in here is more than capable of providing offense and pitching.

Uncommitted Gem: Christopher O'Leary

O’Leary is a tooled up outfielder coming off a year in which he batted .425 across 22 games in PG events. He stands in at 6-foot-2 in what looks like a pretty physical frame with good athleticism. A performer on both sides of the ball leaves a lot to be desired for someone who is uncommitted as of now. It’s a nice swing and looks like there is more power coming in this profile. He can really move and runs well on both sides of the ball. Checks a lot of boxes for an outfielder that can really hit and get into power. I would expect O’Leary to have a loud tournament down in Jupiter and leave the event with plenty of offers as he can certainly make an impact at the next level.

Projected Pool Winner: East Coast Sox Franchise

Just like clockwork, the East Coast Sox have strung together another star-studded group headlined by a pair of All-Americans in Koa Romero and Stephen Bobo. Romero put a cap on a big summer with a long homer at the PG All-American Classic, and we cannot wait to see what fireworks he has in store for prep baseball’s biggest stage. While this roster is as deep as they come, another name to watch is switch-hitting Fischer Howell, who is squarely on the radar to be a difference-maker throughout the WWBA Worlds with big-time run-production upside. On the mound, they will need to lean on some underclass talent, including the polished arsenal of southpaw Beckett Johnson and the power right arm of Anson Bright. Bright, even as a 2029 grad, can rush it into the mid-90s with big extension traits. The East Coast Sox always perform well in Jupiter, and this group should be no exception; winning the pool should just be a checkpoint for what should be a deep run at a title.

Dark Horse: Chicago Cubs Scout

With a host of future Power 4 talent, the Cubs Scout team has the ammunition to push the East Coast Sox for Pool N’s top spot. This is an experienced roster featuring likely the most upperclassmen of any of the four teams, including 18 Division I commits. The double-play duo of Kensen Johnson and Parker Robinson will be the one to watch, as their production will be vital to the club’s success.

What to look for: Future Day 1 Position Player Talent

While there is no shortage of high-end draft prospects in Pool N, this group is exceptionally loaded with premium, underclass position talent. The field features an elite crop of young bats, including Evan Thompson, Kensen Johnson, Reese Parker, Andres Armenta, Kaleb Foster, and Weston Barrett. Ultimately, the pool will likely be decided by how these budding stars handle prep baseball’s heaviest weight class. The cream always rises, and this stage is perfectly set for some definitive, statement performances from the next wave of premier talent.

Uncommitted Gem: Kensen Johnson, SS/RHP, Chicago Cubs Scout

While it's a certainty that Johnson comes to Jupiter as a premier uncommitted prospect, WWBA Worlds provide a massive stage. It offers a prime dual opportunity for Johnson to showcase his high-end, two-way capabilities, while college coaching staffs can put in a crucial in-person look in attempt to land the shortstop. On the dirt, at the plate, and on the mound, his tools are already incredibly loud, backed by a frame that possesses monstrous physical projection.

Projected Pool Winner: Canes Midwest 18U National

Canes Midwest brings a deep roster to Jupiter with plenty of impactful talent on both sides of the ball. A pair of PG All-Americans in Oklahoma State commit Jacsen Tucker and West Virginia commit Cole Cheatham headline the group, with Tucker bringing a combination of athleticism and power to the lineup while Cheatham has been up to 99 mph on the mound. Duke commit Griffin Boesen adds a physical left-handed bat, while Louisville commit Demarcus Lowery has made a big jump over the last year and brings plus speed and range in center field. The pair of 2028s bring athleticism and versatility to the group, with Gillespie showing an advanced offensive approach and the ability to impact the game on the base paths, while York brings a loud collection of tools and defensive versatility. With high-end talent, athleticism and depth throughout the roster, Canes Midwest has the pieces to make a run well beyond pool play.

Dark Horse: GBG National 2027

GBG National brings an athletic group to Jupiter with several versatile pieces throughout the roster. Oklahoma commit Baylor Denny should be a key piece in the infield, while USC commit Taylor Dodd brings a switch-hitting presence with a feel to hit and ability to impact the game with speed and defense in the outfield. Oregon commit Ryan Sanchez adds a physical presence at 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, showing big strength at contact and plenty of power while also running the fastball up to 93 mph on the mound. Also on the pitching side, Chandler-Gilbert CC commit Derek Arold has been up to 90 mph with a feel for his secondary stuff, while Yavapai College commit Joaquin Warmus gives the group versatility with a quality breaking ball. There is enough athleticism, offensive impact and pitching depth throughout this GBG roster to make them a real threat to advance out of the pool.

What to Watch For: USG/Elev8’s Arms

There will be plenty of intriguing arms throughout Pool O, but USG/Elev8 brings a pair of 2027 right-handers who should draw plenty of attention. Vanderbilt commit Derek Yormack brings a polished three-pitch mix, working in the low-to-mid 90s with feel for both a breaking ball and changeup. Virginia commit Enmanuel Acevedo offers a different look at 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, bringing a power fastball that has been up to 96 mph and a slider that gives him another swing-and-miss offering. Acevedo has shown the ability to pile up strikeouts throughout his time on the circuit, while continuing to refine the command. The contrasting looks between Yormack’s pitch-ability and Acevedo’s physicality, and power stuff give USG/Elev8 two intriguing arms to follow throughout pool play.

Uncommitted Gem: Jagger Wilson, USG/Elev8 Rawlings National

Wilson is an intriguing, uncommitted name in the 2027 class with a well-rounded collection of tools that can impact the game. The left-handed hitting middle infielder has quick hands with a compact, repeatable swing and has shown the ability to generate quality contact with his bat speed. In addition to the bat, he moves well, turning in a 6.76 sixty at PG National, while showing clean actions and arm strength across the infield. There is a lot to like with the combination of athleticism, defensive ability and feel to hit, making Wilson a name for college coaches and scouts to keep a close eye on throughout the week in Jupiter.

The lineup is anchored by standout names such as Gavin Williams (Oregon), Carson Richter (Michigan), Elijah Parkhurst (Oklahoma), Wyatt Parker (William & Mary), Tyler Vladic (Oregon), and Ryan Watson (George Mason), giving them plenty of offensive firepower and depth throughout the order. On the mound, the Warhawks can lean on a deep group of arms led by Jake Busse (Oklahoma), Caden Nelson (Texas A&M), Tyler Ransom (Texas A&M), Pratt Morley (BYU), Kayden Lambson (BYU), Gabe Fink (USC), Mason McGill (West Virginia), and Keon Young (Oklahoma State). The roster also features several highly regarded younger prospects, including Alec Cabrera, Liam Skeen, Leo Alvarado, Jakob Groeschel, Austin Rodriguez, and Preston Adams, adding even more talent to an already loaded group. There is a lot to like with this club from top to bottom, as they have the depth on the mound and enough quality bats to consistently put pressure on opposing teams. With talent spread throughout the roster and 19 Division I commits in the dugout, Ohio Warhawks have all the ingredients to make a deep run out of pool play and into bracket play.

Dark Horse: USA Prime/Aces National

With a deep stable of arms and enough offensive talent to support them, USA Prime/Aces National is a club that could make things interesting in this pool. The pitching staff is the strength of the roster, led by Rowan Atkinson (Arizona State), Colten Smith (BYU), Tripp Surber (Air Force), Nolan Horvath, Seamus Keller, Max Hakel, Conner Jones, and RJ Westbrook, giving them plenty of quality options throughout the week. A bulk of this group's strength comes from its ability to continue rolling out arms and keeping pressure on opposing offenses. The lineup features several intriguing pieces as well, including Chase Austin (Oregon State) and Cooper Devries (South Carolina), while Maxwell Bradley (Florida Gulf Coast), Brent Walulak (Marist), Joaquim Jack Araujo (Delaware State), Gavin Myers, Reddic Lawless, Will Congo, and Cohen Walker (UAB) provide depth throughout the order. There is a good blend of athleticism and physicality throughout the lineup, with several players capable of producing quality at-bats.

What to look for: Pitching Depth

With four staffs that feature both quality and depth, the battle on the mound should go a long way in deciding this pool. Ohio Warhawks are led by a deep group of committed arms including Jake Busse (Oklahoma), Caden Nelson (Texas A&M), Tyler Ransom (Texas A&M), Pratt Morley (BYU), and Keon Young (Oklahoma State). There is no shortage of pitching talent across the pool, and whichever club gets the most consistent production from its staff over the course of the week could find itself in position to advance.

Alec Cabrera, Ohio Warhawks

Cabrera enters the event as the No. 38 player in the 2028 class and one of the top uncommitted bats in attendance. The left-handed hitter brings an impressive blend of hit and power with explosive bat speed, quick hands, and advanced feel for the barrel. He works with a well-leveraged swing and shows the ability to drive the baseball to all fields. Cabrera has a mature approach at the plate and consistently creates hard contact with plenty of carry off the bat. The offensive profile is easy to like, combining present impact with plenty of projection still remaining. His combination of bat speed, feel to hit, and power potential makes him one of the more intriguing young hitters in the event.

Jakob Groeschel, Ohio Warhawks

Ranked No. 43 in the 2028 class, Groeschel brings one of the more intriguing skill sets in the pool. The right-handed hitter stands out with big-time bat speed, an advanced approach, and a mature feel for the barrel. His hands work clean and direct through the zone, allowing the barrel to stay on plane and create consistent quality contact. There is plenty of twitch in the swing, and he shows the ability to impact the baseball while maintaining a polished offensive look. A high-level athlete with top-end speed, Groeschel adds value in multiple facets of the game and continues to trend in the right direction. The combination of athleticism, bat speed, and hit tool makes him a name to keep a close eye on throughout the event.

Project Pool Winner: Performance Baseball 2027/ Milwaukee Brewers Scout

This is a roster on paper, built to make some noise- due to the depth, talent and pitching to back it up. There’s a good balance of arms that provide different looks, with almost half being right-handed and the other half being left-handed.

Regardless, it’s a rotation of high-level arms where the opposing lineup are going to have to earn every run. Reed Dierschke, Jake Berry, Dylan Langstaff, Caden Mackey, and Brennan McKenna, just to name a few. Then there’s the lineup. Hudson Holt, Chace Robbins, Grant Stafford, and Nolan Rolih are some names when thinking of a middle of the order and defensive core loaded with D1 talent. And don’t for a second forget about 2028, Cooper Dewaal who might be my favorite player in Pool Q. Talent gets you noticed, but depth can win you your pool. A talented group of 2028s complementing an experienced 2027 core, this team can withstand the grind of Jupiter and keep bringing quality arms and athletic position players onto the field.

Dark Horse: Artillery Baseball 2027 Scout

Can Artillery make it back-to-back years on advancing into bracket play and winning their pool? Time will tell, but it’s safe to say this is a group that doesn’t necessarily have a true target on its back compared to year’s past groups. And being overlooked might be something that motivates this group. They have a true number one arm in Boston Brown who will compete in any matchup. And they have a group of valued bats like John Berry Upton, Jett Walters, Will Swisher, Wrigley Zweifel, and others that can flip a game upside down. With timely hitting, an ace and a group of other arms that can throw strikes and compete, why not Artillery?

What to Watch For: Parity

What makes Jupiter the best event in all the land is that it’s an opportunity for these players that are the future of the game to rise to the occasion and separate themselves. Whether it’s individual performances or team performances, one thing is certain. Cream always rises to the crop. But even with that notion, this is a game of chess and not checkers. Mental warfare supplemented with the grind of the game. And what may be on paper may not be the end all be all when it comes to who advances. There is no guarantee for any team in this pool and nothing certain when it comes to the winner of pool Q, or any pools for that matter.

Uncommitted Gem: RHP Simon Brutskiy, Canes American 18U

The Apex, North Carolina native is just starting to unlock a high ceiling, making him a priority target and of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the state. Brutskiy’s fastball sits in the high-80s and at times can climb into the low-90s and has topped out at 92 mph. It features hard cutting action that generates weak contact and misses bats when carried in the zone. The secondaries are the intrigue, with the breaking ball showcasing elite spin traits (3200+ rpm). Clean operation overall and demonstrates lower-half drive and dynamic hip-to-shoulder separation.

Project Pool Winner: Chicago White Sox Scout Team.

The CWSST has a combination of star power and veteran depth. Perfect Game All American, Isaiah Snavely leads the group and comes in as one of the true helium players after the summer circuit. Noah Goetke and Grady Nelson can change any game with one swing. They both have massive juice in the bat. Grady Grant and Ben Canada have some game changing skills on both sides of the ball. CWSST also has one of the best defenders at any position in the 2027 class in Cooper Collins. The backstop will basically eliminate the running game and lead a deep group of Midwest arms.

Dark Horse: Easley Baseball Club.

ECB brings in a smaller roster, but it has versatile grinders that have tons of experience in National events. Drew Davis is competitive and can roll innings in a hurry. Jace Riggins is dynamic and its tooled up. Landon Swinney may be the difference maker and comes off a massive performance at the 17U WWBA National Championship where he hit for the cycle in a game.

What to Watch For: The tempting match up between ECB’s Drew Davis and the CWSST line up will draw a massive crowd of college recruiters and pro scouts. That potential match up brings pure entertainment value on the biggest amateur stage. Lets hope, for everyone, that comes to life in Jupiter.

Uncommitted Gem: One can roll to any of the Scorpions 2027 games and have your pick of very talented 2028 prospects. The roster is littered with players that will impact a college program in a couple years. For 2027, hit the CWSST for arms like Chase Gothrup, Gavin Markus, Logan Robe, and Griffin Snider. For bats, ECB has intriguing prospects that should garner attention, the top uncommitted player could be catcher Ethan Killough.

Projected Pool Winner: Canes West National

With a roster littered with West Coast Division I commitments, Canes West has the firepower to make it out of what looks to be a strong Pool S at the top. This pool will likely come down to the head-to-head matchup between Canadian Premier and Canes West. This group should have every chance to pitch their way through pool play at WWBA Worlds with strong upperclassmen pieces like Johnny Bowes, Charlie Borchard, and Hawk Licari leading the way, with the power arm of 2028 grad Richie Reiffenberger nestled in the rotation as well. Offensively, Arizona State commit Danny De La Torre comes in as the group's top-ranked player, but watch out for the influence of Dreson Ethier and Manny Ehinger working up the middle on the dirt for the club.

Dark Horse: Canadian Premier

While they catch the “Dark Horse” designation in this exercise, this Canadian Premier group has the proper expectation that this is a pool they need to win. Let's break it down: offensively, the speedy Sam Ellis is a dynamic table-setter for a host of power bats in this lineup, including Mikey Batiste, Jalen Jacob, William Nolet, Gino De Santis, and Gabriel Lehouillier. On the mound, the staff is headlined by Lucien Kovalchik, an uncommitted 2028 grad who should have every chance to head back north from the WWBA Worlds with several Power 4 offers. Down the rotation, there’s a healthy blend of lefties vs. righties as well as stuff vs. polish. The big southpaw Ethan Reason will assuredly draw a start and can jam up 0s for the club. Look for the uncommitted arms of Will White, Johann Sternberg, and Marshall Schwoob to also provide good innings in their opportunities. If you’re a college coach heading down to Jupiter next week, this roster is packed full of impact uncommitted players and could very well be playing deep into the event.

What to look for: Can the pitching of Canes National take them to the promise land?

On paper, the Canes bring to Jupiter an embarrassment of riches on the mound. Florida commit Colin DiRocco has had a fantastic fall up to this point and has solid draft buzz surrounding him as he's been up to 93 mph. Charlie Borchard, an MLB blood liner and Stanford commit has been up to 93. USC commit Johnny Bowes stands on a 6-foot-6 frame and runs it up to 95 mph. Hawk Licari, a Saint Mary’s recruit, has had success at PG events with a career record of 12-3 with 107 innings pitched and 138 strikeouts. Potential only goes so far, the staff will need to execute, stay composed, and deliver when the stakes are highest. If these pitchers live up to their promise, Canes National could have what it takes to reach the top.

Uncommitted Gem: Gabriel Lehouillier & Canadian Premier Arms

The Quebec native is just the purest of left-handed power bats. He can leave any yard in the country from pole to pole and gets to his power so often; I trust the stick in a big way. The way his recruitment has unfolded has been a shameful miss by the industry, but all wrongs will be righted when he injures some baseballs and turns some heads in Jupiter.

Just a quick nod to some quality arms that need to be on the radar next week: Johann Sternberg, a polished southpaw with feel for three good ones; Will White, a prototypical starter mold with strong legs and good athleticism who competes with a low-90s heater and flashes an above-average slider; and Marshall Schwoob, a lean, projectable lefty who can command the upper 80s with feel for the breaker and changeup. Huge upside.

Projected Pool Winner: SBA Bolts National 2027

One of the premier programs year in and year out, SBA will be as difficult of an out as ever. The strength of the 2028s on this team immediately stands out. Three players ranked in the top 100 nationally for the class, including Adriel Cartagena, Ian Jensen, and Jason Marll Jr. Additionally, the five Power 5 commits on the roster will be a daunting opponent for anyone they run into. They’ll be a must-watch all week for their arms alone, as they bring seven D1 commits on the bump.

Dark Horse: Texas Twelve Red Sox 2027

Arguably the deepest squad coming out of the lone star state, Texas Twelve sends a group that looks to make some noise in a strong group. They bring a loaded team, with 15 commits as of now, with more to come. The lineup is strong enough to keep up with anyone, headlined by Texas A&M commit Easton Brunson and backstop Gunner Fokken, a Kennesaw State commit. Additionally, some of the 2028 names project to factor in. Texas A&M commit Travis Fiedler and Baylor commit Parker Legh-Page will likely have to play roles if Twelve is going to make a run.

What to Watch For: Who Wins the Arms Race?

This pool will feature a total of 17 primary arms committed to D1 programs. This isn’t even including secondary pitchers or guys who haven’t committed just yet. Pitching is a premium in a tournament like this, so whoever comes out of this group is likely going to have to be sustainably strong on the bump, especially to combat the firepower and depth of these lineups.

Uncommitted Gem: Liam Bantau, SBA Bolts National 2027.

The ultra-projectable two-way athlete looks to make an impact for a loaded roster. Offensively, he’s shown a strong feel to hit, minimizing whiff while attacking the middle of the field with plenty of consistency. On the mound, the right-hander attacks the top rail with a heater up to 92, countering that with a depthy breaking ball that he lands consistently.

Projected Pool Winner: South Charlotte Panthers 2027 Marucci

One of the longest standing and most tradition rich organizations in the nation, the South Charlotte Panthers come to Jupiter with arguably their most talented overall roster in the last half decade. They will carry at least fourteen arms that will touch 90 mph or better and boast twenty-seven players that have already made their college commitment. Owner and GM of the club, Scott Clemons, is excited about his depth of quality strike throwers on the mound. He also likes the blend of hitters that control the barrel surrounding some serious thump in the middle of the lineup. The 2027 class will make up the core of the team with Kellen Rogers leading the charge offensively and playing elite defense up the middle.  Wyatt Lytle recently decommitted from UNC and will hit in the middle of the order while handling the pitching staff behind the dish.  Britton Wise and Kees Yashko will anchor a talented outfield core that will be backing up the talent on the mound.  Luke Samples and Kaden Wasniewski are two of the more talented RHP’s in the nation, armed with mid-90s fastballs and whiff inducing secondary offerings. Watch for the 2028s to play a big role for the Panthers with righty Duncan Carver and Andrew Mundy both ready to handle the pressure that comes with being an underclassman in Jupiter. This looks like the year that South Charlotte will make another deep run and if things go smoothly, they could hang around until the final day.

Dark Horse: Ascent Athlete National

Established in 2019 and scaling up significantly in 2021, Ascent Athlete out of Garnet Valley, PA has made a rapid rise to an elite level on the national landscape. Under the leadership of General Manager, Scott Lawler, his organization has set a foundation of blending a data-driven approach to player development with mentoring players for real life experiences. Their roster is loaded with talent, including eighteen players who have made their college commitments and fifteen pitchers who will live in the upper-80s to low-90s. No doubt there will be a crowd in to see Cole Kuhn, the 6-7 righty with potentially the best fastball in the event, that has been reported to eclipse triple digits and will cruise in the upper-90s. Underclassmen Owen Murphy and Diarmuid “Puck” Gardiner are RHPs with electric heaters and refined arsenals that can miss barrels in bunches.  Jalen Bowman will be a player worth following throughout the event, as he can change the game with elite athleticism and the skillset to set the tone offensively while he takes runs off the board with the ground he covers in the outfield.  Eddie Mitchell, another underclassman, should handle much of the work behind the dish with elite catch/throw skills and will be a presence in the heart of the order. Ascent will need length out of their elite starters on the mound, if they do, they could pull off the upset in pool play.

What to Look for: How the Pitching Plays Out

All four clubs feature offenses that have speed and table setter types at the top and bottom of their lineup. Of course, they also have bangers in the middle that can leave the yard and allow for scoring runs in bunches. So, as it so often does in baseball, it will most likely come down to pitching and the decisions the coaching staffs make to give themselves the length they need to make a deep run. There are plenty of elite arms to go around in a starting role, but the bullpens will typically win games in this setting.

Uncommitted Gem: Wyatt Lytle, South Charlotte Panthers 2027 Marucci

Lytle recently re-opened his recruitment after decommitting from UNC and is sure to be heavily followed during the event. As your prototypical catcher at 6-1/195 he may have the most comprehensive skillset of any uncommitted catcher in his class. His glove work is well-developed with a smooth transfer, and he will regularly register sub-2.00 pop times in game action with on the bag accuracy. He is an average runner with high level bat-to-ball skills with low-K rates and projectable power that should play up the line for many years to come. He is densely muscled, giving him the durability and resilience demanded by the position. It not a matter of if Lytle will be committed by the end of the fall, just a matter of which program has the fit he is looking for at the next level.

Projected Pool Winner: Orioles Scout Team 2027

The Orioles Scout Team heads to Jupiter with a long list of power four and high mid-major commitments on both sides of the ball. Their lineup is anchored by dynamic shortstop Mac Morris, an Alabama commit with a collection of loud tools. Morris pairs a strong throwing arm with a pair of quick hands that do damage to multiple fields. Joining him in the batting order is outfielder John Hucko (Auburn) and infielder Ryland Beumel (Louisville), a pair of power four recruits. Beumel pairs strong defensive actions with an effective left-handed stroke. On the mound, the Orioles Scout Team brings a plethora options to Florida, headlined by Braden Richardson (South Carolina), Will Parrish (NC State), and Konnor Briggs (Coastal Carolina). The roster includes high level talent from the 2028 class, including outfielder Elijah Prisciandaro and Texas recruit Colton Small. Small is a towering 6-foot-10 lefty with immense projection, while Prisciandaro pairs a strong arm with budding impact from the right side. Overall, this roster has what it takes to make a deep run in Jupiter.

Dark Horse: Wildcatters National 2027

The Wildcatters National squad brings a talented group south, a team primarily made up of a large collection of Texan power four commitments. Their batting order is led by athletic and projectable shortstop Lubin Rincon, a Longhorns recruit with a polished hit tool from the left side. He employs an aesthetically sound swing while growing into budding impact, projecting to stick at shortstop. Also included in the lineup are infielders Truett Allen (USC) and Hector Cadena (Texas A&M). Allen utilizes a strong throwing arm across the diamond and possesses the athleticism to play several spots defensively. Cadena is a switch hitter with loud exit velocity numbers and a long track record of PG performance. Another bat to watch for is uncommitted outfielder JD Aufderheide out of Georgia, showcasing real power from the right side. On the mound, the Wildcatters are led by Texas commit Ryder Renfro, a strong-bodied right-hander with a low-90s fastball and feel for secondaries. Kline Cummings (Virginia) and Garet Hackenbruch (Notre Dame) are two names to watch for on the mound, both power four recruits with budding arsenals and projection. Their depth on the mound is further solidified with a quality group of mid-majors commitments.

What to Look For: Orioles Scout Team’s Pitching Depth

As previously discussed, the Orioles Scout Team brings a talent rich roster to Jupiter, a squad that figures to compete in the playoffs. Their success will hinge directly on the quality and depth of their pitching staff, a key to any long form WWBA event. Their staff is headlined by South Carolina commit Braden Richardson, a medium framed righty with a fastball into the mid-90s while mixing and matching several secondaries. A quartet of different looks proceed Richardson, including Konnor Briggs (Coastal Carolina), Brady McCormack (Ole Miss), Will Parrish (NC State), and Hunter Vitello (Virginia). The Orioles Scout Team will bring a stacked group of 2028 arms to Florida, including southpaws Sean Rodesiler (Duke) and Colton Small (Texas), as well as uncommitted right-hander Everest King. The pitching staff is rounded out via a handful of high level mid-major recruits, giving the Orioles Scout Team a buffet of options on the mound.

Uncommitted Impact: Tristan Macpherson, RHP, Ostingers Baseball 2027 Ostig

Macpherson heads to Jupiter apart of a small group of high-quality uncommitted arms in the 2027 class making the trip. The Florida native works from a medium-to-large right-handed frame with a blend of length and present strength. Macpherson starts with a mid-body handset, utilizing a sidestep windup and a high pronounced leg lift. He fires down the mound via a quick and abbreviated arm action, releasing from a higher three-quarters slot. Macpherson’s fastball works around 90 and has been up to 93 with big riding life out of the hand, playing well at the top of the zone. He drops in a sharp 11-5 curveball with late two-plane bite and feel to land. Macpherson has flashed a horizontal slider, with evident feel for a pair of breaking balls. With a strong outing or two at Jupiter, a high level program will pounce on the opportunity to bring in a workhorse righty with an advanced three pitch mix.

Projected Pool Winner: Franklin Scout Team/TBD- 2027

In a loaded and highly competitive pool, Franklin Scout Team/BTD-2027 enters as a clear favorite to come out on top. On paper, it’s easy to see why, as the roster features an impressive 29 players ranked inside the Top 500 of the 2027 and 2028 classes. Offensively, the lineup will be led by a pair of PG All-Americans in Sebastian Castillo and Juan Diaz, who should set the tone for this talented group. Behind the plate, Matthew "Chubbs" Fernandez adds another strong presence and should provide plenty of impact in the heart of the order. The pitching staff may be even more impressive, featuring 17 arms that have reached 90+ mph. Miami commit Matthew Vigil headlines the rotation, bringing a high-powered arsenal and plenty of electricity to the mound. With high-end talent throughout the roster and depth on both sides of the ball, expect Franklin Scout Team/BTD-2027 to draw plenty of attention and bring serious energy every time they take the field.

Dark Horse: USA Prime National 18U

Calling USA Prime National a dark horse might be a stretch, as this roster is loaded with high-end young talent. Featuring a group made up mostly of players from the 2028 and 2029 classes, USA Prime brings plenty of athleticism and excitement to the field. The lineup looks to be one of the biggest strengths of this team, with names such as Colin Raymond, Xavier Rodriquez, and Charlie Blalock looking to lead an offense that should provide plenty of firepower throughout the tournament. The pitching staff is equally impressive, featuring seven arms that consistently work at 90+ mph. Lucas Strawn looks to lead the rotation, while Logan Starnes, Kline Cummings, and Pat Conner provide even more firepower and depth on the mound. Despite being one of the younger teams in the field, USA Prime National has more than enough talent on both sides of the ball to make plenty of noise throughout the tournament.

What to Watch For: PG-All-American Duo

PG All-Americans Juan Diaz and Sebastian Castillo will bring plenty of excitement to the field, but their road through pool play will be anything but easy. The talented MIF duo will look to lead the team on both sides of the ball and serve as key pieces for a loaded Franklin Scout Team. Look for Diaz and Castillo to set the tone throughout the tournament as they try to carry Franklin through a challenging pool and into bracket play.

Uncommitted Gem: Santiago Ponte (27 FL)

Ponte was an easy choice here, as he stands out as one of the top uncommitted prospects on a loaded Franklin Scout Team roster. The smooth left-handed hitter shows easy power to all parts of the park, with plenty of impact coming off the barrel. He possesses a strong and physical 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame that moves well, allowing him to generate easy bat speed through the zone. With his combination of physicality, offensive upside, and left-handed power, Ponte is a name that should continue to gain plenty of attention from college coaches.

Projected Pool Winner: Canes National 18u/New York Mets Scout Team

There are very few teams in the country that can match the overall talent on this roster. The lineup is dynamic from top to bottom, led by an infield featuring Trip Ostergard and Elyjah Mason, both of whom should draw considerable draft interest next July. Finn O’Loughlin, a Top-50 player nationally, anchors the outfield alongside Texas commit JJ Utash, who brings an intriguing power/speed combination. Behind the plate, KJ Anderson and Grant Arnold provide both depth and upside, with Arnold currently ranked as a Top-20 player in the 2028 class. On the mound, Texas left-hander Jake Ivey leads the way. One of the top lefties in the country, Ivey currently ranks No. 97 on our Top-100 draft board. Texas commits Chase Cotton and Parker Klug add another pair of high-upside arms from the 2028 class with the power stuff that can miss bats. With talent throughout the roster and few obvious holes, this is a group that should be one of the toughest outs in the event.

Dark Horse: Slammers Baseball 2027’s

Slammers consistently puts a quality team on the field and this year’s group is no different. The roster features a strong 1-2 punch on the mound in Virginia Tech commit Jake Watts and Georgetown commit Ryan Neumann. Nick Dubofsky, a Top-350 player in the 2028 class, adds another quality arm to the staff. Carson Medina has also been a steady performer this summer and gives the group valuable depth as pool play progresses. Offensively, shortstop Milo Richtel leads the way. The Bucknell commit is a quality athlete with an advanced feel for the barrel and the ability to make life difficult for opposing arms. Jr Ramsey should provide some thump at first base, while Gonzaga commit Jackson Bernosky brings another quality piece behind the plate. Overall, this is a well-rounded group with enough depth on the mound and offensive firepower to make them a difficult matchup throughout the week.

What to Watch For: Impact of Underclass Players

While Jupiter is predominantly an event built around showcasing seniors, this pool is loaded with talented underclassmen. A majority of the top arms on Canes National 18U/New York Mets Scout Team are 2028s with power stuff. The roster also has one of the better players in the class in catcher Grant Arnold. Slammers’ roster also features one of the top arms in the 2028 class in Nick Dubofsky, who ranks No. 328 nationally. The Chicago Scouts Association brings a talented group of its own, featuring 2028 shortstop Gavin Jones, alongside Cooper Graham (2029) and Christopher Worrell Jr. (2030), both of whom rank among the Top-150 players in their respective classes. Florida Burn 2028 Scout is made up entirely of 2028s and should have plenty of players capable of making an impact. With this much underclass talent in the pool, it would not be surprising if a standout performance from a younger player ultimately helps determine the winner.

Uncommitted Gems: OF Jazarris Mackmore, Jr (Chicago Scouts Association), RHP Carson Medina (Slammers Baseball 2027’s)

There are very few uncommitted players remaining in the 2027 class with the combination of tools and upside that Jazarris Mackmore Jr. possesses. The Illinois prep features a lanky 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame with high-end athleticism and significant power potential. A 6.68 runner, Mackmore has the bat speed to produce loud exit velocities, with his power playing well to the pullside. He has the ability to leave the yard at any point. The overall upside should make him one of the more coveted uncommitted players in the event.

Carson Medina has plenty of ingredients to like in a physical right-handed profile. Standing at 6-foot-5, 205-pounds,. Medina works down the mound with intent and shows quality arm speed. The fastball works into the low 90s and with more velocity likely to come. He throws his quality breaking ball for strikes, giving him a legitimate secondary offering to pair with the fastball. With his physical projection and current arsenal, there is starter upside to the profile.

Projected Pool Winner: HP ’27 San Francisco Giants Scout Team

The Texas boys bring a star-studded roster with talent in spades, with a pair of high-impact difference-makers from California. This team is headlined by the PG All-American Striker Pence, who is looking to make a big impact on the mound and at the plate. Joining Pence in the infield, Jackson Wooten is the spark plug for this squad, a twitchy middle infielder who can run like a gazelle. At the hot corner, Levi Leathers (Arkansas Commit) brings another heavy-hitting stick in the middle of the lineup that can drive runners in. Clyde Williams III (Texas A&M Commit) will hold down center field with his speed and looks to drive the ball gap to gap. Striker Pence and Jack Vasquez (Oklahoma Commit) look to carry this staff through what could be a tightly contested pool. With help from Luke Daigle, Elliot Cresap, and Tyler Tarnowski (Sam Houston State Commit), who all will play pivotal roles if this team plans to make a run for the hardware.

Dark Horse: East Coast Ghost National

East Coast Ghost National is bringing an intriguing bunch with an impressive mix of 2027s and 2028s that could make some noise in this tournament. That includes 10 DI commits and plenty of young talent. Carsten Bland (Dayton commit) is looking to build on his unreal performance at last year's Underclass World Championship, where he finished 18-23. Brody Garguilo (Lafayette Commit) and Brody Mauro (Xavier Commit) look to add depth to the lineup and continue to deliver meaningful performances at PG events. Anthony Huaranga, a young, physical, athletic barrel machine and very highly regarded underclassman, might be the loudest bat. Rider Cochrane and Preston Pahang (Indiana Commit) are the pair of big right-handers looking to cause chaos. Brady Mauro is one of the few southpaws on this staff and could help maneuver high-leverage situations.

What to Look for: Well-Oiled Machine vs Group of Rising Stars

HP ’27 San Francisco Giants Scout Team brings a squad that has been through the grind of the summer circuit, only losing 1 game in PG events, trying to make a meaningful push at one of the most prestigious events. Tons of talent, with 5 players inside the 2027 Top-500 rankings. Jackson Wooten will be one of the keys to the Giants' success; he will need to set the table and make his speed known on the base paths. On the other side, East Coast Ghost National is bringing a plethora of young 2028 studs that could push any team to their limits. Anthony Huaranga, the top-ranked third baseman in New Jersey, will need to be the anchor for his team to maneuver through this pool. With a combined roster of 21 seniors and 10 juniors, will they be able to gel and topple the loaded pool? We're less than 2 weeks away from finding out.
Uncommitted Impact

Will Underthun is a super projectable 6-foot-4, 225-pound right-hander who does a great job jumping ahead in counts. His arsenal is headlined by a fastball up to 91 that plays well off his big, sweeping slider, a swing-and-miss offering. He will also work in a bigger 11-5-shaped curveball. His quick arm can be deceptive from his slot, giving hitters different looks. An arm from Minnesota that will turn heads if it works for him.

Striker Pence is the highest-ranked right-handed pitcher who still has to decide on his college commitment. A large 6-foot-6, 205-pound frame raises eyebrows on the mound, and pairing it with a triple-digit fastball will draw area scouts from across the league to see him compete. Can bring the heat and break off a low-80s slider with minimal effort to it all. Will be a highly anticipated appearance whenever he takes the mound. Will also take some healthy hacks at the dish, with power to leave the yard to all parts.

Projected Pool Winner: USA Prime National/Detroit Tigers Scout Team

It’s hard to envision a scenario in which USA Prime is not walking away from pool play as the winners of this group. That isn’t to say this pool isn’t talented, because it is. But the pure collection of talent on this roster is just too significant, and it’s one built to last the entire way. There are seven PG All-Americans on this roster, with nine total players ranked inside the T100. They have a strong group of arms, with Samir Mohammed leading the way. They might be a bit light on southpaws as of now, as Rowan Atkinson stands to be the only one rostered. From this chair, it shouldn’t really matter. Look for Hank Rippy to carry over what has been a really strong summer into this event and demand lots of professional attention from evaluators. Coaches should get eyes on the only two uncommitted players on this roster as well in ‘28 Rylan Farlow and ‘27 Jack Swanson.

Dark Horse: Arizona Diamondbacks Scout

This is a young, young roster top to bottom that is going to have to show some poise if they want to compete and win this pool. The talent is certainly there for it to happen, however. Hunter Elmore and Cam Rakaczewski are a pair of ‘28 South Carolina commits that figure to feature nicely in the top and middle of this lineup. They aren’t short on arms either, as ‘28s Easton Holmes, Lawson Moore and Andrew Jackson III are all going to be getting innings down in Jupiter. There is an infusion of ‘27 grads as well that should prove to be reliable contributors both in terms of inning and at bats, but the younger guys are going to steal the show down in Florida. This is a really competitive group that will be a fun one to follow. College coaches should be swinging by their field as well.

What to Look for: Underclass Talent

As outlined in the aforementioned blurb, the underclass group going down to Jupiter from this pool alone is a fun one. The DBacks have a majority of the studs, but that isn’t to say it’s strictly limited to them. Rylan Farlow is a very talented two way prospect that is going to command attention to his skillset on both sides of the baseball right now. The upside is extremely interesting on the mound, but you always take into consideration and try to project what a player could become at both during this stage. Look for him to pound the zone in the upper 8-low 9’s band with feel for spin and strikes. DJ Jones with MVP carries a toolset that is going to get him evaluated by professional clubs when the time comes, and he is uncommitted. San Diego is bringing in six underclassmen, four of which are ‘28s with three ranked inside the top 500 along with a pair of ‘29 (!!) arms. Those ‘28s ranked inside the top 500 (Derek Volpe, Eric Shim, Chase Miranda) are all uncommitted. It’s a deep pool of talent in the ‘28 class and even beyond.

Uncommitted Gems:

MIF Jack Swanson (2027, East Berlin, CT)

Swanson is coming in off a really strong summer performance, headlined by his selection to the USA 18u National Team. A medium framed, well built 5-10/180, Swanson is a primary shortstop that should see himself stick on the dirt. Evaluators will need to make the determination whether that is going to be at the 6 long-term, or if a move to second is in the cards. He possesses a compact, well timed and balanced left-handed swing with little wasted movement. It’s a process that is built to handle velocity and hold up over time. The lower half is strong, and he gets coiled into the hips well during the process of the lower half trigger. Forecasting it over the next 5-7 years, he looks to be a hit over power left-handed hitting middle infielder that provides solid value on both sides of the ball. He is currently the #1 ranked player in Connecticut, and is one of the top ranked players in the New England region.

OF/RHP Cody Seale (2027, Daleville, MS)

Brief shout for Seale here, as he would come to the Northeast Qualifier with the DBacks Scout and show he could pitch in the 89-92 bucket with spin (CB 77, SL 82) and a change-up. There is some looseness to the arm stroke coming from a lower three-quarters release, and effort to the finish. He is listed at 5-11/170. Definitely something here for colleges to check in on.

OF Eli Irvine (2027, San Diego, CA)

Irvine sports a really recruitable profile for coaches to like. He is very high academic (4.3 GPA, 29 ACT), brings 6.5-6.6 speed to the table and upper 80’s arm strength from the outfield with a nice contact first offensive outlook to pair. There should be plenty of reason to project on his ability to stick in centerfield, as well as provide value on the bases. He has swung it well this summer, and a nice showing in Jupiter will propel him even further.

RHP Thiago Quillin (San Diego, CA)

Quillin is a 5-11 right-handed pitcher that moves well down the slope and gets into good positions thanks to his athleticism and mobility. It is a lower launch fastball with good overall extension, sitting in the upper 80’s at his current peak with quality overall metrics. He pairs it with a solid slider in the upper 70’s that has good shape and late teeth. Very good strike thrower all summer long at PG events (67.8%).

1B Terence Sullivan (2027, Hawthorne, CA)

Sullivan is a 6-3/254 pound left-handed hitting first base prospect that brings plenty of juice potential to the table. It will be a good test down in Jupiter, but a good week against this quality of competition will sell his offensive profile in a big way. He looks to continue a strong summer off the back of an appearance in the 44 Classic and Area Codes.

Projected Pool Winner: Jason Kidd Select

You certainly wouldn’t think that this is an organization playing in Jupiter for the first time with the success they have seen this year and the roster they’re bringing next week. It’s a group led by people who have seen a ton of success in the travel ball world, and they’ve got some really exciting pieces on both sides of the ball. Joe Mendazona Jr played in the All-American Classic last month, and he’ll be one of the best catchers in attendance, while guys like Jace Harrell, Brayden Goldstein, junior Braylon Hubbard and a number of other talented hitters give them the necessary depth in the lineup. On the mound, they’ve got a bunch of guys who are committed to play at Power 4 schools, and a handful of junior arms ranked inside the Top 300 that bring them an exciting blend of experienced and high-profile arms.

Dark Horse: Showtime National 18U

This roster on paper has a ton of options for where this coaching staff can go to try to win this pool, but I’m penciling in on a couple players that I think can be the difference makers, especially in what will be their toughest matchup against JK Select. There will certainly be plenty of Northeast natives filling out the lineup each time out, but it’s the arms that I think can get it done for them in Jupiter. They can go a couple different ways, but Ray Kim might be the golden ticket given he is someone who came to the All-American Classic scrimmage last month and showed out, beating some of the best hitters in the country with his stuff. He’s super competitive, throws a ton of strikes and has the potential to beat anyone there.

What To Look For: Returning Cores + New Additions

It’s not uncommon whatsoever for teams to bring a handful of guys that played with them in the summer paired with some brand new faces to this event given only so many groups can earn the right to play in Jupiter, but that’s certainly something that shows up in this pool on paper. All four groups look like they have cores that were with them in the summer, or even longer than that, and then went and found some good pieces to bolster what they’ve got. It will almost certainly come down to which team can gel quickly, given a rough first game can derail a team’s chances at getting out of the pool, but if a group from this pool does click early, it can set up a deep run.

Uncommitted Gem: 17 Uncommitted Ranked 2027s

It’s hard to touch on just one or two guys for this category when looking at this group of teams because it adds up to 17 players in the Class of 2027 on rosters in this pool that are ranked in some capacity and still uncommitted. There are some real solid hitters in this group that are still on the market, but it’s a real chance for the pitchers to shine in front of college coaches because it only takes a couple good innings to leave a big impression.

Projected Pool Winner: Cincinnati Reds Scout Team

This team has looked really impressive offensively the past couple of weekends. 9 different players have hit home runs already this fall in September PG tournaments. Top ranked player Matt Meeker hit easily a 400+ foot HR to CF at Champions Cup in Chicago. Jake Michel and Cole Chambers have been swinging the bat very well so far this fall. A rare prospect from North Dakota, Jack Tooke is coming off a multi HR tournament at UBC Chicago and may be one of the more underrated left handed power hitters in the country. Tristan Steger is a LHH catcher that has an intriguing profile as a potential middle of the order bat as well. And then comes the gauntlet of arms. Charley Spour and Liam Nash are hard throwing RHP’s with intriguing off speed stuff. Jacob Coisman and Kowen Rader are upside RHP’s that have shown intriguing stuff. Kaden Wasniewski is still working his way back to the mound and is actually a really talented hitter as well. Some talented 2028’s on this roster as well. Overall, this is a good team on both sides that showcases a lot of talent from the midwest/ohio valley region.

Dark Horse: Dirtbags 2028 National

This will be a younger group for Jupiter, but certainly a talented one. Both Levi Kerr and Tommy Driver are high end prospects in the 2028 class. This team has 7 players that are already power 4 commitments with several more likely coming in the next several months. Luke Straw has been swinging the bat well early this fall and is coming off a multi HR tournament at the PG Fall World Series. Overall this is a deeply talented roster all over the field and while they may be younger than most in Jupiter, the talent level is going to be pretty high.

What to Look For: 2028 Talent/Depth of Uncommitted Players

There is a lot of high level 2028 talent in this pool. Dirtbags 2028 National has 14 players with a 500 tag or higher that are uncommitted as of this writing. Reds Scout Team has two 2028’s within the top 100 that are currently uncommitted players in Jack Postma and Carver Cohn. All but 5 players on Team Elite Prime are currently uncommitted. And Marucci Elite/White Sox Scout Team will bring a roster with 16 current uncommitted players as well. There will be a blend of high end talent and plenty of recruiting opportunities in this pool.

Uncommitted Impact: Rylan Ulrich

Became an uncommitted prospect in the middle of September. There aren’t many high level 2027’s left and this is going to be a great addition to a schools recruiting class. 2-way player that has been up to 95 on the mound and was comfortably in the low 90’s all summer long. Also a switch-hitting shortstop that has been swinging the bat very well this fall. Has hit over .500 in both fall PG tournaments he has played in and was recently named PG Fall World Series MVP after going 7-for-9 with a double, triple and a home run. A talented player with impact tools and he’s performing in games right now. This is a good one for every school that has room left in their 2027 recruiting class.

Projected Pool Winner: Team Elite/Arizona Diamondbacks Scout Team 18U

Team Elite/Arizona Diamondbacks Scout Team 18U comes into the Grand Daddy of amateur Travel Baseball with a roster poised for perhaps not only a Pool win but a deep playoff run in Jupiter. A pair of PG All-Americans in Banks Addison and Liam Dougherty lead the charge on both sides of the ball. There is a nice blend of athleticism and offensive prowess throughout the lineup with Cason Borchadt and Max Phillips joining Addison. Bryan Miller and Xavier Perez both add depth to the lineup and will be in charge of the pitching staff behind the plate. Miller, a UCF commit brings ultimate versatility to the squad as he can play a bevy of positions in the field. Dougherty is the headliner on the mound but guys like Owen Burnes, Luke Leger and Phillips bring a trio of lefties that can shut down a lineup. Look for them to either deploy Dougherty versus a usually tough Knights Knation/Dodgers Scout Team in the game that should decide the pool.

Dark Horse: Knights Knation/Dodgers Scout Team

The Boys from the Deep South are accustomed to succeeding in Jupiter and this year should be no different despite a different roster composition than usual. This year’s squad has a bevy of Top 500 prospects throughout but the typical high-profile firepower is less than in previous years. Their pool play matchup with Team Elite could decide the pool, as they will likely deploy Sooners commit Cameron Gangi or Southern Miss commit Issac Boudreaux against that high powered offense.

What to Look For: Can someone knock off Team Elite/Arizona Diamondbacks Scout Team 18U?

If all goes according to plan, Team Elite/Arizona Diamondbacks should take the pool and be poised for a deep run in the playoffs. The question remains; can someone pull the upset and knock them off. The roster is deep with plenty of offensive firepower and a plethora of arms including Liam Dougherty. My instinct says this pool goes chalk with Team Elite coming out of the pool.

Uncommitted Gem: Hector Green, SS, Class of 2027 & Joniel Miranda Perez, RHP, Class of 2027

This pair will be in attendance with the Puerto Rico Scout team, as they both offer tantalizing traits that would help anyone looking to add to their 2027 Recruiting Class. Green brings athleticism, 6.3 speed and plenty of arm strength to stick on the left side moving forward defensively. Offensively, there is prowess at the plate with bat speed, barrel accuracy and more coming as he continues to add strength. Miranda Perez is consummate strike thrower with present stuff, as he has been up to 93 mph and offers a swing-and-miss changeup with desirable traits.

Projected Pool Winner: CBA Marucci

It’s really hard to pick against the back-to-back champs here, as CBA Marucci brings another deep roster loaded with high-level prospects across multiple classes, along with the type of well-rounded players who consistently know how to play winning baseball. The ’27 class is headlined by a trio of high-level middle-of-the-field athletes in Robert Villa III, Jordan Kurz and Justin Rodrigues, who will see time at SS, 2B and CF respectively, and should all factor near the top of the order. Stafford Johnson is another name to know, bringing plenty of athleticism and a strong bat-to-ball skill set, while Codey Brown provides quality defensive ability behind the plate with enough offensive upside to make an impact.
There’s plenty of underclass talent to like as well. Chase Fillman is one of the better power bats in the ’28 class and adds another dimension on the mound, where he can run his fastball into the low 90s from the left side. ’28 RHPs Cooper Leroy and Jackson Leigh, along with ’29 RHP Talon Brown, are all arms worth monitoring and should have opportunities to take on meaningful innings. With that combination of depth, talent and experience, CBA looks like a team to beat once again.

Dark Horse: SBA Bolts National 2028

Dark horse might not be the perfect term here because SBA Bolts National brings a legitimately strong roster. The biggest obstacle is simply age, as the club is primarily made up of ’28s in a tournament dominated by ’27 talent. Still, there is more than enough ability here to make a run in this pool.

The two ’27s on the roster, PG All-American Dariel Carrion and RHP Gean Joseue Figueroa Medina should carry a good amount of responsibility behind the plate and on the mound respectively. From there, SBA is packed with very well-known ’28 prospects, including SS Derek Vasquez, 3B Ivan Andino, C Julian Martinez, OF Hudson Simmons, RHP Valentin Ceballos, LHP Jacob McCarter and LHP Nathan Hazard, all of whom rank inside the national top 150. If this group of ’28s is ready to embrace the moment against older competition, I wouldn’t be surprised to see SBA come out on top of this pool.

What to Look For: High Level Underclass Arms

I’m a big fan of several of the underclass arms in this pool and the way these rosters are constructed they’re likely going to be asked to handle some big innings and high-leverage situations if their teams want to make a deep run. Cooper Leroy, Jackson Leigh and Talon Brown all bring projectable RHP profiles with plenty to like already from a size/stuff/delivery perspective and each should have a chance to make a meaningful impact.

SBA has its own trio of elite underclass arms in Valentin Ceballos, Jacob McCarter and Nathan Hazard. Ceballos is a particularly advanced RHP showing starter traits in both his ease of operation and the depth and strength of his arsenal. McCarter is an elite pitchability lefty with a highly projectable frame, while Hazard offers a different look from that side with deception and the ability to spin the baseball. Also keep an eye on Hudson Large for Team Elite - Southeast Alliance. He’s a physical RHP who should sit in the upper 80s and pairs the velocity with a strong ability to spin the baseball as well. There’s a good chance several of these arms become much more important to their teams as the tournament progresses.

Uncommitted Impact

There are several uncommitted ‘27 players in this pool who I expect to make an impact for their respective clubs. Griffin Fien gives CBA an athletic OF whose bat has shown well in flashes on the circuit and could provide some valuable offensive depth in a deep lineup. Bobby Wooten is an athletic UTL who our staff has seen extensively across PG tournaments and showcases, including PG National where he showed off several high-level tools. He has the versatility and athleticism that should stand out to evaluators throughout the week.

Brinson Rountree is an intriguing uncommitted arm for Mafia Boys, bringing an upper-80s heater from a deceptive left-side operation that can give hitters a different look. For Team Elite - Southeast Alliance, Hayden Laird is the uncommitted arm I’ll be watching most closely. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder has a loose arm and can run the fastball into the upper 80s, with flashes of quality secondary stuff to go along with it. Xavier Martin is another player that could make some noise as our staff just got a fresh look at him at the 18U Fall World Series where he showed off his athleticism and real impact at the plate. If those uncommitted pieces perform, they could end up being important difference makers for their respective teams and could also help themselves out a bit in terms of finding a college home.

Over the past few days of the tournament, the usually cruel southwest Florida weather had been unusually kind - but the warmth of the sun had still taken energy out of both championship teams. They had finished hard-fought semifinal matches before walking from the backfields of JetBlue Park to the big-league stadium. WWBA Sophomore Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 Lukas Klipper (2029, Clearwater, Fla.) was electric at the plate, collecting six hits, highlighted by a monstrous home run off the batter's eye in his second game. High-level left-handed hitter with a really easy swing and functional actions. Klipper lived on the barrel throughout the game and showed off his run-producing ability in huge situations. WWBA Sophomore Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 Ronin McCrea (2029, San Diego, Calif.) had an all-around performance at the plate, going two-for-two with two singles, two runs scored, and three RBIs. The right-handed hitter displayed a short, compact swing with a direct and efficient path to the baseball. McCrea showed excellent barrel control throughout the game, consistently producing hard line-drive contact to all parts of the field. Jayson Blanco (2029, Homestead, Fla.) was dominant on the mound, tossing a five-inning no-hitter while striking out six. The right-handed pitcher worked down the mound efficiently with a smooth, fluid delivery that helped him consistently attack the strike zone. WWBA Sophomore Scout Notes: Day 1 Rhys Jones (2029, Mc Lean, Va.) was absolutely dominant on the bump to start off day 2 hanging an impressive 10 strikeouts in 5 innings. Running the heater up to 84 with arm side run and the breaking ball got swings and misses. The strike percentage stayed right over 55%, and he carried a no hitter into the 6th. Easy arm action with a high 3/4 slot and controls the move down the rubber. Jevan McMenamy (2029, Fargo, N.D.) was all around solid today tallying two hits, an rbi, and a walk. In the box he works to the middle of the field in the approach and can elevate to all fields. Coils deep into the back hip and works through contact with strength. Justin Mills (’27, Braselton, Ga.)- the 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed pitcher tossed a 6-inning complete game shutout for Dingers Scout in a 7-0 win over ECB Astros 18U Navy. The uncommitted Jackson County High School product struck out 12 batters and only walked one while controlling the zone at a 61% strike rate. Mills ran his fastball with arm side run up to 89 mph and consistently worked ahead in counts to stifle the Astros Navy lineup. He coupled it with a tight slider that showed late depth in the mid-70s to record eight swings-and-misses on the offering. A brilliant effort from Mills as he worked east and west while reading swings and avoiding barrels.
