Lawson Moore is a 2028 LHP/1B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Greensboro, GA who attends Gatewood. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout frame. Left-handed pitcher, abbreviated windup on the mound with a coiled leg lift into balance point; medium length to stride coming down the mound, shorter arm action work to a compact three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 82 mph and filled the zone, late life to the pitch with some effort at release, held velocity out of the stretch. Curveball shows biting life to it when thrown with conviction in the upper-60s and mixes a shorter, cutter-like slider with late horizontal life to it up to 71 mph. Three pitches around the zone, all thrown for strikes. Shows arm strength across the diamond from first base with accuracy to the intended base, fields it out front, preps well, overall footwork will continue to develop away from the bag. Left-handed hitter, begins with a medium and open base. Short swing path through the zone, gets downhill through the zone with plane, swings with intent and incorporates physical strength into point of contact.
