Red Vs. Royal Highlights

6/16/2019

Jake Rabe (2021 SS, Corpus Christi, TX) singled in his first two at bats of the day today. Rabe showed bat speed with a level swing and barreled up the ball a couple of times. 

Connor Grotyohann (2021 RHP/1B, Stockholm, NJ) doubled in his second at bat of the day. Grotyohann does a good job of hitting the ball where it's pitched and showed pop in his bat. 

Eli Maddox (2022 C, Orange Park, FL) singled twice this afternoon for the red team today. Maddox has a line drive swing plane with an aggressive approach at the plate.

Zach Hurand (2020 RHP, Cary, NC) sat 81-84mph on his fastball to go along with his curveball at 64mph and his changeup at 70mph. Hurand throws a heavy fastball with a good changeup that keeps hitters off-balance and mixes in his pitches well. 

Wes Sutton (2020 SS/RHP, Conway, AR) sat 81-85mph on his fastball mixing in his curveball at 70mph and his changeup at 74mph. Sutton has good arm speed with a fastball that gets on hitters quick and he attacks batters with it. 

Brock Ewing (2021 LHP/OF, Amarillo, TX) singled all three times he came up to the plate today. Ewing showed a confident approach at the plate with bat speed and made consistent hard contact. 

Cole Smith (2020 SS, Conyers, GA) doubled in his first at bat of the day today. Smith has a smooth swing at the plate with bat speed and showed the ability to square the ball up at the plate. 

Jake Rivers (2020 SS/RHP, Birmingham, AL) sat 79-83mph on his fastball mixing in his curveball at 71mph this afternoon. Rivers throws a heavy fastball, doing a good job of mixing his pitches in to hitters keeping them off-balance and has depth to his curveball.

Tyler Loebel (2020 RHP/3B, Nashotah, WI) had 3 hits today including tripling in his last at bat. Loebel showed good plate discipline with a smooth swing with bat speed. 

Andrew Southern (2021 3B, Cumming, GA) singled and doubled today for the white team. Southern showed the ability to center up the baseball with a level swing plane and has an aggressive approach at the plate.

Walker Payton (2020 C, Suwanee, GA) singled in his last two at bats of the day today. Payton is a gap to gap hitter with pop in his bat and has a confident approach at the plate.

Andrew Hunt (2022 3B, Birmingham, AL) singled twice as well today for the white team. Hunt makes solid consistent contact at the plate with a line drive swing plane.

Fox Locke (2020 2B, Shreveport, LA) doubled and singled today in his teams game. Locke showed an aggressive approach at the plate with good balance and has bat speed.

Trey Greer (2020 RHP, Mobile, AL) topped out at 81mph on his fastball today mixing in his curveball at 64mph, a slider at 67mph, and his changeup at 63mph. Greer has a long arm action with repeatable mechanics on the mound.

Andreas Mantz (2021 OF, Fort Myers, FL) hit a Home Run today for the gray team. Mantz displayed bat speed at the plate with lift in his swing and drives the ball when he squares it up. 

Grant Bournigal (2020 SS, Lakeland, FL) doubled in his second at bat of the day today. Bournigal has a smooth swing with the ability to make hard consistent contact at the plate.

Luke Koon (2021 RHP/1B, Tallahassee, FL) singled both times he came to the plate today. Koon showed good pitch recognition at the plate with a nice easy swing.

Jace Thomas (2021 LHP/OF, Orange Park, FL) doubled and singled in the game for the navy team today. Thomas has a nice easy swing at the plate with bat speed and has a line drive swing plane. 

Stone McKnight (2021 OF, Mableton, GA) tripled in the game for navy team today. McKnight is a gap to gap hitter with pop and has bat speed.

Charles Daulton Payne (2021 OF, Bremen, GA) tripled in the game for the navy team as well. Showed an aggressive approach at the plate with a smooth swing and has good speed on the bases. 

Daniel Elliott (2020 3B/RHP, Clarksville, MD) sat 84-86mph on his fastball with his curveball at 75mph. Elliott pitches from an over the top arm slot, getting downhill and has depth to his curveball. 

Camden Suhoza (2020 1B, Collierville, TN) hit a Home Run this afternoon for the Orange team today. Suhoza showed quick wrists at the plate with a smooth swing and showed the ability to square the ball up at the plate.

Nick O'Reilly (2021 OF, Atlanta, GA) tripled in his at bat during the game today. O' Reilly showed bat speed at the plate with an aggressive approach, and has a good swing. 

Grayson Dato (2020 OF/RHP, Milton, GA) had his fastball topping out at 82mph this afternoon mixing in a slider at 75mph. Dato pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with arm side run to his fastball. 



Purple Vs Gold Highlights

Holden Wilder (2020 RHP, Suwanee, GA) sat 81-85mph on his fastball today mixing in his curveball at 68mph, to go along with his slider at 74mph, and his changeup at 74mph. Wilder has a simple repeatable delivery with good pace to it, and does a good job of commanding his fastball. 

Matt Querey (2020 SS, Wilmington, DE) collected 3 singles on the day today. Querey showed bat speed at the plate, with an ability to consistently center up the ball and hits to all fields. 

Dillon Martin (2020 LHP/1B, Italy, TX) singled his last two times he came up to bat today. Martin showed a patient approach at the plate with a smooth swing and did a good job of hitting the ball where it was pitched. 

Adam Love (2020 OF/RHP, Roswell, GA) sat 84-87 with his fastball today pairing it with a changeup at 78mph. Love pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm, and has arm side run with sink to his fastball. 

Saketh Gabbita (2020 RHP, Ashburn, VA) topped out at 82mph on his fastball today mixing in a curveball at 69mph and a changeup at 72mph. Gabbita has a short quick compact arm action, working both sides of the plate and attacks hitters with his fastball.  

Matthew Dubois (2020 SS/RHP, New Castle, PA) topped out at 82mph on his fastball as well mixing in his curveball at 65mph and his changeup at 71mph. Dubois does a good job of keeping the ball down in the zone, showed good pace to his delivery and has arm side run to his fastball. 

Black Vs. Green highlights

Matthew Clements (2021 SS, Jacksonville Beach, FL) made solid contact all day at the plate today adding a single in his second at bat. Clements showed a confident approach at the plate with quick wrists and showed the ability to consistently barrel the ball up at the plate. 

Tim Chiapel (2020 C, Chesterfield, MO) tripled and singled in the game for the black team today. Chapel showed a line drive swing plane at the plate with good pitch recognition and has good instincts on the bases.

Max Miller (2021 RHP/1B, Fort Worth, TX) singled and doubled in the game for the black team today. Miller showed bat speed with the ability to drive the ball to the gaps. 

Zerick Warren (2021 C, Waxahachie, TX) doubled in his first at bat of the day. Warren did a good job of barreling the ball up multiple times today and gets good extension at the plate.

Justin Hozman (2020 SS, Milton, GA) doubled and singled in the game for the green team today. Hozman does a good job of letting the ball travel, has quick wrists at the plate and has a line drive swing plane.

Mason Collins (2020 RHP, Alabaster, AL) sat 83-85mph on his fastball mixing in his curveball at 63mph. Collins has an up-tempo delivery pitching from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a loose arm and gets good extension out front. Collins is aggressive with his fastball and it has arm side run. 

Ivan Quinones (2020 3B, Pembroke Pines, FL) singled in his first two at bats of the day today. Quinones showed a confident approach at the plate with a smooth swing and has bat speed. 

Dawson Massengale (2020 MIF, Mt Juliet, TN) tripled in his last at bat of the day today. Massengale showed good speed on the bases with a line drive swing plane and has pop in his bat. 

Eliezer Bueno (2020 1B, Germantown, TN) doubled in his last at bat of the day today. Bueno has an aggressive approach at the plate with lift in his swing.

Jayson Longacre (2021 2B, Atlanta, GA) made solid contact all day today including tripling in his first at bat. Longacre has a smooth swing doing a good job of barreling up the baseball, and showed bat speed.
  


Batting Practice Highlights

6/15/2019

Cole Evans (2020 C, Waynesboro, MS) Creates good barrel speed through the zone with a quick and direct hand path to the baseball. Able to work solid contact from gap to gap with the best contact coming when he’s able to get the barrel head out and work the ball out in front of the plate. Gets the ball in the air through a line drive plane.

Dillon McKee (2020 3B, Lago Vista, TX) Sets up in a wide stance utilizing a high leg lift trigger to coil the lower half helping to create barrel whip through the zone. Stays on time well with a compact swing. Looks to lift the ball and drive to deeper parts of the field.

Tim Chiapel (2020 C, Chesterfield, MO) Really has a feel for controlling the barrel and consistently squaring up the baseball. Swings the bat hard through rotational actions creating carry off the barrel to the pull side.

Brady Holloway (2021 1B, Proctor, AR) Creates hard jump through a naturally lifted barrel path. Gets through a long path looking to elevate the baseball. Has a real chance to produce power moving forward as the swing and physical build continues to mature.

Mason Takvorian (2020 3B, Newnan, GA) Stays on time well while utilizing a long swing path through the zone. Utilizes rotational actions with barrel speed and strength in the hands at the point of contact. Works the ball well to the middle of the field but can hit gap to gap as well.

Grant Bournigal (2020 SS, Lakeland, FL) Stays upright in the stance with a leg lift trigger. Likes the ball low and creates strong separation while getting lifted contact. Repeats mechanics well while swinging with intent and mixing both a high contact approach with the ability to hit for power also.

Owen Bruce (2020 RHP, Oxford, MS) Quick sweeping trigger through a fluid swing path. Easy jump off the barrel through a line drive plane. Works through linear drift onto the front side while staying to the middle parts of the baseball field.

Mason Collins (2020 RHP, Alabaster, AL) Good power potential in the bat. Swings the bat with authority on a naturally elevated barrel plane. Will impact the ball when working to the pull side. Consistently drove the ball deep.

Kyle Manitz (2021 OF, Sarasota, FL) Sets up with a slightly open stance to start staying compact to the baseball. Has present strength throughout frame that is utilized well in the swing. Really produces hard and loud contact when getting to the barrel on a naturally lifted plane. Will be a big power threat moving forward

Stone McKnight (2021 OF, Mableton, GA) Hard and free swinger in the box with a line drive approach. Has some strength that helps produce smooth barrel speed through the zone. Gets the barrel head through the zone working to extension well and impacting the baseball on an upward trajectory.

Charles Daulton Payne (2021 OF, Bremen, GA) Swings through a flatter plane with a contact oriented approach. Strength at the point of contact with a middle to pull side approach. Should be able to maintain a high average in a lineup at the next level.

Camden Suhoza (2020 1B, Collierville, TN) One of the better rounds of BP throughout the day. Made some of the loudest contact and produced easy jump to all fields. Fluid swing path with a strong ability to repeat swing.

Nick Dato (2020 RHP, Milton, GA) Overall solid hitter looking to contact the ball in front of the plate. Stays on the backside well and drives off the trail leg into contact. Strong lower half creating torque from the hips while using rotational actions.

Adam Love (2020 OF, Roswell, GA) Big time pop off the bat in the batting practice session. Swings the bat hard with an aggressive pull side approach. Stays mostly direct with hands on an uphill trajectory with the bat plane.

Maple Moody (2021 1B, Seattle, WA) Really works the pull side of the field with approach. Quick hands to the ball and finding the barrel more times than not. Stays consistent and on time with a high contact rate as well as occasional jump to the gaps.

Austin Walker (2021 RHP, Suwanee, GA) Stays compact with hand path into a pull side approach. Swings the bat hard on a line drive plane. The ball jumps well and should continue to improve as he gets the ball elevated more and more moving forward.

Trey Greer (2020 RHP, Mobile, AL) Employs an upright slightly open stance with athletic repeatable mechanics. Showed a slightly elevated bat path with good bat speed creating consistently driven contact. Flashed a gap to gap approach with the ability to drive the ball to and through the gaps in the outfield.

Andrew Southern (2021 3B, Cumming, GA) The strong athletic righty showed a high intent swing creating impressive bat speed. Displayed a gap to gap approach consistently driving line drives and fly balls to and through the gaps in the outfield.

Walker Payton (2020 C, Suwanee, GA) Showed a short compact swing with quick hands through the zone and a direct hand path to the baseball. Flashed the ability to drive line drives into the gaps in the outfield consistently.

Rashad Blount (2020 OF, Pensacola, FL) The 2020 grad flashed quick hands and a direct hand path to the baseball creating consistently driven line drives. Showed athletic repeatable mechanics with the ability to drive the ball through the gaps and over the fence.

Braydan Spedale (2020 OF, Denham Springs, LA) Flashed good barrel control and bat speed showing the ability to drive consistent line drives through the infield. Showed the ability to turn the barrel out front and drive the ball with power to the pull side as well.

Jake Rivers (2020 SS, Birmingham, AL) The Birmingham native showed explosive hands through the baseball to go along with a smooth line drive plane creating consistent loud line drives. Also showed the ability to drive the ball to the pull side with authority throughout batting practice.

Alex Fernandes (2021 SS, San Marcos, CA) Displayed repeatable mechanics with a direct barrel path to the ball creating consistent line drives throughout batting practice. Flashed a rotational pull side approach with the ability to drive line drives to and through the right center field gap.

Alexander Vanlandingham (2020 C, Sandy Springs, GA) Showcased advanced barrel skills in the box through a contact oriented, middle of the field approach. Strong overall hitter with the chance to perform well at the next level of competition. 

Jake Rabe (2021 SS, Corpus Christi, TX) The switch hitter was solid from both sides of the plate, working to the pull side from the right and left sides. He was consistent with the barrel from each side as well as driving the ball to the gaps. 


Orange vs. Navy

6/15/2019

Manuel Jackson (2020 C, Coral Gables, FL) showed good skills behind the plate tonight. Jackson has a quick transfer with a strong accurate arm. 

Jaylen Thompson (2020 RHP/OF, Atlanta, GA) tripled in his second at bat of the day today. Thompson has a level swing with bat speed and showed the ability to square the ball up.  

Nick Dato (2020 RHP/2B, Milton, GA) doubled in the game for the orange team today. Dato showed he has pop in his bat and has a confident approach. 

Shay Timmer (2021 RHP, South Jordan, UT) sat 83-86mph on his fastball mixing in his curveball at 69mph and his changeup at 70mph. Timmer does a good job of getting downhill, throwing all his pitches for strikes and mixes them in well.

Charles Daulton Payne (2021 OF, Bremen, GA) singled and tripled in the game for the Navy team today. Payne consistently squared the ball up today showing off bat speed at the plate with an aggressive approach.

Jackson Denney (2020 RHP/3B, Dunwoody, GA) singled twice this evening. Denney has a level swing at the plate with bat speed and made consistent solid contact at the plate all day today. On the mound Denney sat 76-80mph on his fastball mixing in a slider at 66mph and his changeup at 71mph. Denney pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a short quick arm action and has a deceptive delivery. 

Jace Thomas (2021 LHP/OF, Orange Park, FL) singled and doubled in his final two at bats of the day today. Thomas showed a smooth swing at the plate with a patient approach and does a good job of hitting the ball where it's pitched.

6/15/2019

Adam Love (2020 OF, Roswell, GA) Showed good bat speed through the zone with a naturally leveraged barrel plane. Tripled sharply to deep center field in his first at bat of the game.

Kameron Pryor (2022 OF, Tallahassee, FL) The Florida native showed good feel for the barrel with the ability to work to all fields. Collected two hits in three at-bat and proved to be very effective on the bases.

Maple Moody (2021 1B, Seattle, WA) Showed a quick, compact stroke to contact with the ability to turn the barrel with intent. Doubled sharply to the the left field corner in his last at-bat of the game.

Matthew Dubois (2020 SS, New Castle, PA) Created hard, loud contact throughout the game with the ability to work to all fields. Collected two hits in three at-bats with a sharp line out to third base.

Brooks Hardie (2021 3B, Bremen, GA) Utilized lower half well while shifting into contact. Created good carry off the barrel picking up two extra base hits in three at-bats.

Connor Grotyohann (2021 RHP, Stockholm, NJ) The New Jersey native generated good downward plane through the zone with a fastball that topped at 85 miles per hour. Showed good feel for fastball offering and consistently located to each edge of the zone.

Game Highlights Green vs Maroon

6/15/2019

Mason Collins (2020 RHP, Alabaster, AL) turned in a two-for-three performance at the plate with a stolen base, using  a well timed swing that stayed on plane with the pitch well.

Owen Bruce (2020 RHP, Oxford, MS) worked four innings on the mound of shutout baseball allowing only a single hit, also went one-for-two at the plate with a double in his final at-bat of the day.

Justin Hozman (2020 SS, Milton, GA) collected a pair of singles in three trips to the plate and added a run scored with a stolen base.

Jayson Longacre (2021 2B, Atlanta, GA) was one-for-four at the plate with a pair of stolen bases and a run scored. Also pitched two solid innings in relief allowing only one hit and striking out two.

Spencer Mangum (2020 SS, Winter Springs, FL) worked an effective two innings on the mound without allowing a hit using primarily a heavy sinking arm side fastball. He efficiently pitched top contact and generated multiple ground ball opportunities for his defense.


Gold Vs. Gray highlights

6/15/2019

Grayson Brooks (2020 1B, Suwanee, GA) doubled in his second at bat of the day today. Brooks showed bat speed at the plate with a smooth swing and the ball jumps off his bat. 

Colin Schulz (2022 OF, Fort Worth, TX) singled and tripled in the game today for the gray team. Schulz showed a sound approach at the plate with good balance and squared the ball up both times he came to the plate. 

Colin Whibbs (2020 MIF, Gulf Breeze, FL) doubled and tripled in the game for the gold team in the last game they had today. Whibbs consistently squared the ball up at the plate showing good bat speed and has good speed on the bases.

Thomas Hudson (2020 RHP/1B, Raleigh, NC) tripled in his first at bat of the game today. Hudson showed good present strength at the plate with a smooth level swing.
