Steven Johnson is a 2020 OF/RHP, MIF with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Tallahassee, FL who attends Leon. Athletic build with square shoulders and present strength. Ran a 6.91 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Flashed smooth actions working to and through the baseball. Showed clean glove actions with deliberate transfers into throw with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 76 MPH. Right handed hitter. Employs an upright even stance with a high hand and back elbow set up. Displayed a high intent swing with a line drive barrel plane through the zone. Utilizes a middle to opposite field line drive approach with good barrel control creating consistent line drives. Also pitched. Pitches exclusively from the stretch using a belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather landing online with the plate and staying online with the plate through finish. Showed a longer arm action going to a low three-quarter slot at release. Flashed a fastball with arm side run up to 72 MPH complemented with a breaking ball thrown for consistent strikes at 66 MPH.
