Zerick Warren is a 2021 C/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Waxahachie, TX who attends Elkhart. Athletic build with present strength. Ran a 7.64 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Displayed clean receiving actions with softer hands. Showed quick footwork gaining ground well from behind the plate into throws. Showed low, clean transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 74 MPH and posting a 2.01 second pop time from behind the plate. Right handed hitter. Employs an even stance with a high hand set and leg lift trigger. Flashed rotational upper half mechanics with good bat speed looking to drive the ball to the pull side. Utilizes a gap to gap approach with strong hands at contact creating consistent line drives to and through the gaps in the outfield throughout batting practice. Also pitched at the event. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather with a hip coil going to drop and drive actions down the mound landing online with the plate and staying online through finish. Flashed a longer arm action with looseness going to a mid three-quarter arm slot at release. Flashed a fastball with heavy life through the zone up to 78 MPH complemented with an 11/5 breaking ball with good depth at 66 MPH and a sinking change up at 71 MPH. Excellent student.
