Courtland Connally is a 2020 C/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Gulf Breeze, FL who attends Pensacola Catholic. Athletic build with long limbs and room to fill out. Ran a 6.86 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Employs a low set up with confident receiving actions behind the plate. Displayed good footwork gaining ground well from behind the plate. Flashed a quick arm with clean transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to second base topping out at 77 MPH and posting a 1.81 second pop time during catcher workouts. Also worked out defensively in the outfield. Displayed confident glove actions fielding to the side of the baseball in the outfield. Flashed athletic actions with quick footwork while working to and through the baseball. Showed quick, clean transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 86 MPH from the outfield. Right handed hitter. Employs an even stance with a high hand set and short leg lift trigger. Displayed fast hands to and through the baseball with a compact line drive bat path. Flashed the ability to create lift into the gaps with good jump off the barrel to both gaps. Displayed the ability to create loud jump off the barrel when on time and squared. Great student. Named to the 2019 National Academic Top Prospect List.
