Brock Ewing is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Amarillo, TX who attends Amarillo. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Ran a 6.91 sixty-yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Medium leg lift and stayed balanced on back side at gather. Worked to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Tends to land on a slightly closed from side but carries momentum towards target well. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly generating solid downhill plane with slight run in the mid 70's, topped at 77 mph. Curveball had 2/8 shape with looser spin and occasional depth in the upper 60's. Consistently looked to challenge hitters with both offerings to the bottom of the zone. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth paced footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels the baseball with fluidity and worked through exchange well. Released from a three-quarters slot generating some on line carry to the bag at 78 mph. Left handed hitter with a spread stance and toe tap trigger. Compact, direct hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent and look to drive the ball to the middle of the field and pull side gap. Excellent student.
