11u/12U PG Select Festival Roster Preview

This weekend 64 of the top 11 & 12U players in the country will converge on the historic East Cobb Complex in Marietta, GA for this year’s renditions of the Perfect Game Select Baseball Festival. This year is a unique instance as these special events are typically slotted for their own particular weekends in the beginning of August but in-order to provide the best experience for all players participating in the event, Perfect Game decided to merge to the events together for one unforgettable weekend. Both Games will air live on perfectgame.tv with the 11U game taking place on Saturday, August 12th at 12 PM (ET), while the 12U version will be played on Sunday, August 13th at 1 PM (ET).

This year’s roster are certainly loaded, while showcasing an abundance of young, skilled athletes that will be names we continue to see for years to come. The future of the game is certainly bright and these participants will be right at the forefront for many years to come. Now let’s kick things off with a preview of both rosters.

Nine different states will be represented amongst the 11U rosters, as this year’s squads bring an exciting mix of athleticism, monster presences at the plate and electric arms on the mound. Let’s start with the East squad, as they will be bolstered by the like of Tyler Early, Christopher Cabrera and Jhunior Jose Cordero. Each of these youngsters pack a punch at the plate and certainly could provide some fireworks during the game. Jesse Soberal Jr. is another name to watch, as the New York native is a hitting machine and will likely be a catalyst within the East squad’s lineup. The pitching corps will include the likes of Zaylon Johnson, the aforementioned Tyler Early and Ramon Roa, as they will look to stymie a lengthy west lineup in this year’s game.

The West lineup has incredible depth and will have plenty of its own firepower lead by the trio of Boston Targac, Leyland Henry and Martin Gomez. All three of these right-handed hitters bring run-producing skills to the plate and should see plenty of opportunities to knock in runs. Jacob Miller, Brandon Sweeney and Salvador Luke Garcia provide the aforementioned depth and will be exciting to watch. Christian Choe, Kingston George and Bowen Landry will lead the pitching staff, as they all bring upper-70s heat to the table as they will look to keep runs to a minimum. With both rosters littered with extremely talented and great young baseball players, this year’s 11U Perfect Game Select Baseball Festival will be fun for everyone to see. Again, the game will air live on Saturday, August 12th on perfectgame.tv at 12 PM (ET).

The fourth annual 12U Perfect Game Select Baseball Festival will bring together 36 of the top players in the country, as they will join their 11U brethren on the same weekend with their game taking place on Sunday August 13th on perfectgame.tv at 1 PM (ET). This year’s rosters will be represented by fifteen different states, as our tournament platform continues to allow for us to see so many players from coast-to-coast. The rosters are absolutely loaded with talent, as there are electrifying athletes across both the East and West squads. There are 11 PG Select Baseball Festival Alum amongst this year’s teams, as they continue to be amongst the most talented players across the country. There will be plenty of exciting moments with plenty of fireworks on the mound, prodigious power on display at the plate and athleticism across the board.

Noah Jarolimek has been on-fire for the nearly the entirety of 2023, as he will be an integral part both at the plate and on the mound for the East Squad. Teammate Carter Nash is an electrifying athlete who lead off last year’s 11U game with a home run and has continued to progress his game. Sandy Jr De La Rosa, Easton O'Quinn and Braiden Miller bring even more power to the lineup that should have no issues scoring runs. The pitching corps will be lead by Trent O'Malley and his fastball that has reached 84 miles per hour in previous events. Knox Myers, Peyton Conley and Merrik McGrath are other fireballers that will see time on the mound during the game. JonLuke Harper, Daylen Woods and Carter Jones are exciting two-way talents that will look to impact the game on both sides of the ball. It is a tantalizing blend of power arms on the mound, insane athletes and plenty of offensive power within the East roster.

Now, let’s take a peek at the West Squad, as this year’s roster includes six PG Select Baseball Festival alum and provide another glimpse into the future of the game. Nateo Victorio is an absolute hitting machine, while Quinn Neal, Christopher Polanco and Jordan Leon provide plenty of power in their own right. Two-way stars in Cameron Hockett, Dylan Mercado and Peyton Lopez provide plenty of excitement on both sides of the baseball and should be right in the middle of anything the West team does. Russell Nelson, Colton Windham and the aforementioned duo of Leon and Mercado will bolster the pitching staff for the West. They all have been into the upper-70s with a few of them peaking into the low-80s with their respective fastballs. The roster as a whole is immensely deep and will be tough for any pitcher to work through unscathed.

The overall theme of this week is a celebration of each and every one of these young players accomplishments, while providing an opportunity for them to continue having fun playing the game we all love. A special thank you is certainly in-order for each of these kids families, friends and support systems- as we know there are tons of sacrifices made for everyone involved. So Let’s enjoy this great weekend of baseball at the Historic East Cobb Complex and get an inside look at the future of America’s Pastime.

All-Star Game Continues To Thrive We’re only a couple of years into having the PG All-Star Game around, an underclass event attached to the All-American weekend, this year played in Petco two days before the Classic. The talent that is a part of it continues to grow to significant levels, and this year was a mix of young guys and some newer names that left lasting impressions. The two hardest throwing guys in the game were the only 2028s in attendance, Striker Pence and Dexter McCleon Jr who both were upper-90s as guys who just started their sophomore year, while the loudest moment of the day came when Kinon Bastian obliterated a pitch into the top deck of the famous Western Supply building in left field, something that we’ll remember for a long time. Extra Swings In The All-American Derby One of the best events every All-American weekend is getting to see these guys with...

March 10 Perfect Game/Player of the Week:  Lorenzo Carrier, OF, Pitt  The Pitt Panthers (12-2) are off to one of the best starts in recent program history and their offense has performed as one of the best in the country.  For the season, they are averaging almost 12-runs per game and on their recent trip to the West Coast, Lorenzo Carrier went on the kind of hot streak that is hard to comprehend.  The 6-5/215 senior from Bear, DE was a one-man wrecking crew in their 4-wins last week, starting with the fact that he reached base safely in 17 of his 19 trips to the plate.  He collected 13 hits in 14 official at-bats, scoring 10 runs, with 4 walks, 2 triples, 4 home runs and he drove in an insane 19-runs.  Carrier has refined his approach, simplified his bat path and is creating massive power that has him putting up career numbers.  For the season, he is...

Collegiate Player Report Database While there will not be any new faces in this weeks Top 25, there is quite a bit of shakeup as the season, somehow, becomes even more unpredictable.  There were several teams in the poll that dropped weekend series and, in some cases, registered losing records in the last seven days.  There is sure to be more chaos this week as virtually every conference starts league play and the race for regular season titles begins.  The UCLA Bruins (13-2) remain No. 1 as their sizzling hot bats led the way to a perfect (4-0) week and they swept their first Big Ten series of the year.  As one of only two remaining undefeated teams in the nation, the Texas Longhorns (15-0) jump to No. 2 before they open SEC play this weekend in Austin.  No. 3 Georgia Tech and No. 4 Mississippi State both (14-2) hold their spots in the poll after both dropped a...

As we get rolling deeper into the spring here in the southern states, other states are only a few weeks away from their seasons beginning and some are even starting the day this will be posted. We’ve concluded the first major event on the high school schedule, the PG High School Showdown, and it was an epic weekend in Hoover. The event was littered with talent and these rankings reflect just that. St. John Bosco (CA) holds onto the first spot in this update and are being pushed by an IMG Academy (FL) team that’s 8-0 after winning the High School Showdown as well as beating two preseason top-10 teams in the first few weeks of the season. Orange Lutheran (CA) holds onto the No. 3 spot after a 1-0 start to the year and just a few weeks away from NHSI. A trio of Florida schools follow Olu in South Walton (FL), fresh off a win at the HS Showdown, Venice (FL), a surging team...
