PERFECT GAME DEBUTS NEW YOUTUBE FEATURE FOLLOWING
JOSEPH CONTRERAS ON HISTORIC DAY BEFORE WBC
Behind-the-scenes access captures the youngest player in the
World Baseball Classic preparing for the global stage
Sanford, Florida (Friday, March 6, 2026) -
Perfect Game, the world’s largest youth baseball and softball platform and scouting service, today announced the debut of a new original
YouTube feature spotlighting right-handed pitcher Joseph Contreras, as PG cameras followed him throughout the day of his final high school start before departing to join Team Brazil in the World Baseball Classic.
The feature provides exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to one of the most compelling young arms in international baseball. At just 17 years old, Contreras is the youngest player competing in this year’s World Baseball Classic, a milestone that underscores both his rapid development and international impact.
A Vanderbilt University commit, Contreras has long been on the radar of the baseball world. Last summer, he competed in Perfect Game’s prestigious DICK’S All-American Classic, where his father, former Major League pitcher José Contreras, served as a coach for the team, creating a full-circle moment for the Contreras family. The feature offers a glimpse into Jose’s mentorship shaping Joseph’s rise.
The YouTube feature captures more than just innings on the mound. From candid pregame preparation with his teammates and conversations with his coaches to family moments and postgame reflections, the short film showcases the poise, maturity and competitive fire that have positioned Contreras for success on baseball’s biggest international stage.
“Joseph represents everything Perfect Game strives to highlight: elite talent, strong family foundation and the courage to compete at the highest level,” said Josh Gotthelf, Perfect Game’s head of content. “Being able to document this pivotal moment before he joins Team Brazil in the World Baseball Classic makes this project especially meaningful.”
The launch is part of Perfect Game’s continued commitment to present enhanced digital storytelling initiatives aimed at delivering deeper access to the game’s next generation of stars. By combining on-field performance with personal storytelling, Perfect Game continues to expand its multimedia presence and elevate the athletes who compete within its platform.
The Joseph Contreras feature is now available on Perfect Game’s official YouTube channel.
