Carter Jones is a 2028 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Westford, MA who attends Austin Prep. Medium strong built frame with a durable look and plenty of present development and plenty of time to continue to add overall physicality. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.38 seconds. Primary position LHP, working with a chest high leg lift to load over the rubber, landing in line at foot strike well loaded. Stabbing inline arm path accelerating through a high 3/4 arm angle as he works the corners and shadow zones of the plate. Pitchability is already evident, displaying a quality 3-pitch mix overall. Fastball with natural sinking action creating soft contact as it worked in the upper-70s. True 12-6 shape to his curve that sat in the mid-60s with good spin traits. Contact deadening spin on the changeup that projects well longterm. Filling up the zone at a high level, nice outing. Secondary position outfielder, moving through the ball well with quick first step. Relaxed through his reps and worked the glove out front before ripping throws up to 89 mph back to the infield. LHH working from a wider stance and lower handset pre-pitch. Quick leg lift as he moves to the front side and works the middle of the field with his approach. Got better as the round progressed with a good swing plane and solid feel for the barrel. Very good student as well.
