12/29 Batting Practice Blog Pt.2

12/29/2023

Jacob Doyle (2025 OF, Cedar Rapids, IA)- Strong frame present with strength in both halves that shows, flashes of LD contact to pull and deeper parts of centerfield. Good direction in the left handed stroke, projects for some power.

Darwinn Lara Guerrero (2025 3B, Lake Worth, FL)- Explosive hands and movements, can lift it and capped off the round with a homerun off the very top of the second wall piece on the green monster. Power potential with adjustability and feel for the barrel, very interesting prospect here.

Ethan Reese (2025 OF, Hulbert, OK)- Direct line drive oriented stroke, some lean strength in there that led to consistent barrels into left field. Quick launch, gets there on time and should project out to hit for average in game.

Cooper Obst (2026 C, Fort Lauderdale, FL)- Real switch hit feel, constant deep contact to RF from the left side and put a few off the green wall from the right side, obvious feel for the barrel and idea to create launch angle. Lofty approach, very solid results from both sides of the plate. Lean frame, projects.

Angel Z Medina (2026 3B, Saint Cloud, FL)- Wiry athlete with lots of room to fill in, showed some consistency from both sides of the box with liners being produced from either dexterity. Has bat speed, direct stroke that translates.

Joevansky Velez (2025 SS, Arecibo, PR)- Solid and well built 6'3/182 pound build with still more strength in the upper half to come, prototype body to project on. Emerging switch hit tool with more pop and loft from the right side with it, interesting to see where the raw power is at in a few years; shift to a corner may come too.

Jonathan Acosta (2025 SS, Miami, FL)- Fast left-handed stroke, slightly open base with higher hands that load to the back shoulder and are quick to launch. Can lift it, working the pull side heavy and getting close to the warning track out there in right.

Zachary Malvasio (2025 OF, Sw Ranches, FL)- Lot of length to the frame here at 6'4/200, synced up the levers pretty well with a lofty approach to work the pull side. Some traits here to like and project on, lot of room in the upper half to add muscle and increase raw power.

Xavier Gori (2025 3B, Saint Cloud, FL)- Upright stance, creates stretch in the load with a controlled forward move. Barrel control present here, has an idea in the box with some projectable strength to dream on moving forward.

Spears Martin (2025 C, Marietta, GA)- Bigger hanging leg lift trigger here, creates coil around the back knee and has controlled intent swinging through the zone. Has added strength, warning track power to the green monster out in left. Still more in terms of physical projection, interesting follow.

Joaquin Gardner (2025 OF, Newberry, FL)- Athletic kid with arm talent as well, impressive round of BP with solid contact all over the field and more to dream on given the frame. Loose, quick hands; currently holds a commitment to Jacksonville.

Lee Holt (2027 C, Milton, GA)- Uber projectable frame for a '27, has the components and bat speed here to really turn into a solid hitting backstop down the line if he sticks back there. Loose overall and can release the barrel, some pop in there too; whole profile projects nicely.

Hudson Dinger (2026 3B, West Fargo, ND)- Loose hands and creates ample separation, can adjust the lower half to create solid launch angles. Up to 92 EV, lean levers that project nicely overall with a super athletic build.

Owen Hawley (2026 C, Virginia Beach, VA)- Some raw pop in the stick from a young left-handed hitting backstop, up to 86 off wood here and 304ft. from a healthy 26 degree launch angle. Functional parts in the swing and flows well, good size at present.

Juan Diaz (2027 MIF, Hialeah, FL)- Impressive switch hit tool, more loft from the right side of the plate with more consistent line drives from the left. Both are usable, up to 93EV's from the left, lot to like given the frame and body here long term.

Jesse Garza (2027 RHP, Pharr, TX)- Strong round from a primary RHP, posted a 91 EV on a 326ft. pullside shot that would have left at a lot of high school fields. Big, physical kid that is able to get to the strength he possesses.

Jackson Sammons (2025 OF, Savannah, GA)- Three Gaudy EVs of 94 posted with optimal launch angles, creates natural stretch and separation with bat speed coming through. Strong kid with upper half strength, will be interesting to see what the raw power develops into.

Norberick Garcia (2025 SS, Allen Park, MI)- Compact frame here built for 2B, packs a punch in the swing when it's level through the zone and on time. Posted 91 EVs and it came off the cleanest in the 8-10 LA range.

Jacob Mayfield (2026 OF, Dacula, GA)- Big raw power here and it comes off real loud when it's timed up properly and the path is proper, getting up to 94 EV off wood. Massive frame, corner projection and a long term follow.

Brayden Richards (2025 1B, Waxhaw, NC)- Lot of juice here, strong upper half and rotates this hips hard/gets into legs to generate. Off the wall pop and up to 93 EVs, consistent timing will be the key moving forward but undoubtedly stuff here to like as a corner IF power guy.

Aidan Sarden (2026 OF, Marietta, GA)- Switch hit ability here from a '26 athlete and utility player, feel to lift it from both sides with mid 20's LA's and mid 80s EV (T86) from both dexterities. Should grow into this nicely, performed in game well this year as well; solid follow here.

Danny Machado (2025 SS, Pembroke Pines, FL)- Well built SS that can stick there, has pop in the stick from both sides with more authoritative juice from the right. Can lift it, swing will work in game and there is more power to be tapped into.

Luke McAtee (2027 C, Town And Country, MO)- One of the more impressive rounds of the day from a '27 and in the event in general, lean strength shows as he can adjust the lower half and shoulders to create good loft on the baseball (30 LA's) and post 88 EV's. Ridiculous projection here for the class.

Hunter St Denis (2025 OF, Gaithersburg, MD)- One of the bigger displays of raw power in the event, flexed it with EV's of 94,94,94 and with big launch angles in the upper 30's. Absurd feel to loft and pull it, was working deep centerfield to end the round off. Impressive display of power.

Brennan Neal (2027 SS, Columbus, GA)- Very strong round from the '27, lean build and should fill in over time naturally. Clean swing, 90+ EVs, creates stretch and impacts it to pull side with some lift. Good one to follow long term.

-Michael Albee

33-Royal vs. 34-White Game Highlights

12/29/2023

Blake Ilitch (2025 RHP, Detroit, MI) was dominant in his two inning stint: touching 93 mph and striking out every hitter he faced. It's a full four pitch mix with a downer curveball, gyro slider, and firm changeup.

Guarionex Carrion Lanzo (2025 C, San Juan, PR) collected two hits, both sigles to either half of the field. There's a hitterish look in the box with loose hands and barrel feel.

Bryton Bertrand (2025 1B, Amarillo, TX) crushed one of the hardest hits of the day: a ground rule double deep to the pull side gap. He leverages well and has good impact while the power upside here is tremendous.

27-Gold vs. 28-Maroon Game Highlights

12/29/2023

Heath Klingensmith (2026 RHP, Concord, NC) ran the fastball up to 86 mph and showed very good feel for a downer breaking ball. There are good components here with ride on the fastball and plays with the vertical axis nicely; he also doubled at the plate.

Zachary Kiffmeyer (2025 RHP, Oshkosh, WI) was very efficient, pounding the strike zone and commanding the 80-84 mph fastball to both halves. He tunnels the breaker and changeup nicely and really mixes and matches.

Fabian Antonsanti Soto (2026 SS, Minneola, FL) doubled hard to the opposite field gap and showed off the bat speed in the process. He can pull the hands inside without sacrificing impact and has a good looking swing.

39-Navy vs. 40-Orange Game Highlights

12/29/2023

Zayde Gastaldo (2025 OF, Pickerington, OH) hammered one into the right center field gap to get the day started for 39-Navy. He has fast hands and is a good athlete that can use both sides of the field at the plate.

12/28/2023

Jake Armstrong (2026 3B, Lakewood Ranch, FL) got the afternoon started with a bang, putting a ball off the very top of the little green monster out in left field. Very physical right handed bat that is just a ‘26, big juice potential here with a good handle to turn it over and work the pull side.

Robert Kramer (2025 C, Miami, FL) looks the part of a strong and physical backstop, working the middle of the field to pull with hard contact and backspin. Solid power potential in the stick, clean swing and should translate in game with solid separation in there.

Carson Ray (2026 SS, Atlanta, GA) put an aeshetically pleasing swing on display, real fluid hands and separation with good handle of the barrel with middle of the field contact. Body projects well and has bat speed in there, will be one to watch when more size comes into the picture.

Kingston Kost (2026 3B, Des Moines, IA) showed off some pull side juice with multiple balls off the wall. Big kid with strength that translates, some juice upside long term.

Garrett Wood (2026 C, Trumbull, CT) let the hands eat in his round, working both gaps with authority and banging one off the green wall too. Strong looking kid with more to project on given the look, some intriguing upside with the hit tool as a primary backstop.

Anthony Knoll (2026 OF, Rio Rancho, NM)- The New Mexico native put on display a connected and well designed swing during his round, making consistent contact and turning barrels over to the pullside. Really projectable frame, has power upside.

Graham Houston (2027 SS, Nokomis, FL) Nice swing from both sides that should translate in game, quicker hands here that get the barrel out quick and work each respective pull side. Good follow as a ‘27.

Adolfo Camacho (2026 OF, Boca Raton, FL) Ridiculous projection to the body with current coordination and ability to sync lever, all the bat speed and visual cues you want to see with a ‘26 prospect. Big corner/power profile projection here, has a chance to really hit for juice in the future.

Ryan Perez (2025 3B, New York, NY) Type of body you would dream for as a ‘25, will hold so much more muscle down the line with a clean right handed stroke. Corner type profile, uber intriguing follow.

RJ Cope (2026 LHP, Lawrenceville, GA) is known for his ability on the mound but flashed undeniable juice in the box today, working multiple baseballs deep to the warning track during his round. Syncs levers well for a kid his size and age, keeps getting stronger in every look.

Braylon Nelson (2026 SS, Daphne, AL)-High waisted athlete, medium knee lift trigger that gets everything on time then explodes through contact with force and control. Put multiple balls over the fence in left, up to 93 EV and has ample physical projection remaining. Higher echelon overall projection given body and current skillset.

Dale Sutton (2025 1B, Ludowici, GA) put some of the raw juice on display, putting a ball over the green wall in left. Stronger kid, corner profile with apparent strength that translates when he's on the barrel.

Zach Beyra (2025 OF, Davie, FL)- Pretty athletic overall frame here, clean stroke from the right side with quicker hands and some whip to the barrel head. Consistent contact all round long, got it out front and let it work nicely. Projects for more muscle down the line, intriguing overall.

Luke Duffy (2025 1B, Bradenton, FL)- Long frame with lean muscle and room for more there, corner profile with a loose and functional swing. All over the barrel here, lot of pull side impact with clean separation in sync with the trigger.

Jacob Estrada (2025 C, Fort Myers, FL) flashed it a few times in the round, working it deep to the pullside with a really short swing and sudden snap to the hands. Primary backstop that has a chance to hit with the current look in the box.

Alvaro Moreno Jr (2026 3B, Fontana, CA) let the hands work here, using the entire 6'3/190 frame to provide the juice during his round. Effortless pop here, controlled swing and got to it really easy with deep barrels to the pull-side gap.

Tyler Townsend (2026 OF, Sycamore, IL) flashed some raw juice here with a bomb off the top of the green wall. Solid frame as a '26 with a good chance to add muscle and more size, lofts it well and comes off hot when squared up.

Vance Bock (2026 C, Sugar Hill, GA)- Easy power here from a strong and sturdy frame, primary backstop with juice upside long term. Knows how to lift it, dropped one at the wall in dead center and effortlessly backspun a gapper in the pullside gap. Low effort stroke, performs in game.

Bubba Coleman (2026 SS, Flowery Branch, GA)- Athleticism shines, projectable traits through and through with loose hands and generates it easy. Lifts it pull side, natural loft to it and should get stronger; chance for power to show down the line. Real flow to the entire process.

Wessley Roberson (2026 OF, Brunswick, GA)- Real bat speed from the left side, open stance with quick hands here and innate feel for the barrel. In game performer, whole process projects well long term and should add size too.

Braydon Wright (2026 SS, Mobile, AL)- Fluid overall hands and parts with a long and projectable frame to tap into. Put one off the middle part of the wall in left, has bat speed and was comfortable getting the barrel to the baseball out front.

Eric EJ Booth Jr. (2026 OF, Bassfield, MS)- Very quick left handed stroke, simple parts then exploded through contact with control and speed. Great body for a '26, should hit in game with this look. All over the field here, constant contact.

Patrick Diaz (2026 3B, Bronx, NY)- Extremely thick and strong build with huge legs, simple swing with explosive hands that comes off the barrel hot. Big power projection here, has a chance to really post big slugging numbers down the line.

Broder Katke (2027 C, Bloomfield Hills, MI)- Well proportioned and athletic build with top of the class strength for a '27, hanging trigger and gets the barrel out with ease. Has feel for it, can lift it effortlessly and put one off the top of the wall in left field. Really got hot as the round progressed, all over the barrel.

Ty Kennedy (2025 SS, Orlando, FL)- Compact MIF build, short to it with hand speed. Contact oriented stroke, very simple parts and should have no issues hitting for average in game with this look. Room in the upper half for muscle.

Joseph Contreras (2026 SS, Alpharetta, GA)- Comfortable on both sides of the ball with more pop from the right, controls it with both however and has a lean/athletic frame to tack onto. Intriguing profile as a '26, good follow long term as he develops.

Jorge Arcia (2025 C, Houston, TX) punished baseballs deep to dead center and left as the round progressed, finding his cut and getting in a rhythm. Easy juice, natural loft to it and looks to lift the baseball when he can. Strong kid with solid backstop + power profile.

Keon Johnson (2026 SS, Macon, GA)- Simply explosive bat speed, barrel tip helps generate so much with lightning quick hands. So advanced for the class, special talent in the box with top of the class barrel skills. Lean and athletic build, ultra projectable.

Maddux Lessard (2027 C, Muskego, WI)- Advanced skillset for the class, top ranked player and it isn't hard to see why given the leverage and impact he creates in the cut. Lean and athletic kid, toolsy package.

Luke Craddock (2025 1B, Warrenton, VA)- Some of the best raw power of the day on display here, effortless leverage and loft with power that shows to the pull side. Parked a baseball off the very top of the second wall piece in left, bat speed and strength abundant here and swings it hard.

Aiden Ruiz (2026 SS, Woodhaven, NY)- Just a rare skillset as a '26, switch hitting shortstop with an abundance of twitch and bat speed that is easily visible. Solid from both but more consistent from the left, put a ball off the wall in left from the right side. Sneaky pop.

Dylan Dubovik (2025 3B, Coral Spring, FL)- First pitch bomb of the very top of second wall piece in left, ridiculous projection to the frame with bat speed and leverage. Just hit one out of the literal ballpark, hitterish tendencies written all over this here. Unreal raw power.

Jeffrey Claycomb (2026 C, Plano, TX) parked two baseballs over the monster in left, keeps the weight back then swings with full effort to create impact. Strong kid, well built upper half and it shows in the swing when he barrels it up.

Gabriel Coltman (2025 OF, Portland, OR) full effort power swings here that are under control and effective, 3 balls above 95 EV and touched 100 as well with wood. Imposing frame, huge juice in the stick right now at 6'5/225.

James "JD" Aufderheide had a solid round, really working the pull side with low liners. Pretty consistent contact, good athlete with a lot of room to fill out physically. In game performer, highly touted prospect in GA.

William Cutshall (2026 SS, Seneca, SC) contact driven swing with linedrive tendencies, can really hit in game and took a simple approach during this round to spray hard contact across the yard. In game performer, two way talent as well.

Caden Dawson (2027 OF, Marietta, GA)- Top of the class prospect, strong kid from the left side who already has present juice and adjustability. Hits in game, went yard in Jupiter earlier this year during in game action. Talented prospect.

Wesley Moering (2027 SS, Dallas, GA)- Solid swing overall with a projectable frame, fluid hands and trigger and can release it out front with some thump. Off the wall x2 in left, lean kid who will get stronger and add more to the frame; interesting for a '27.

Aiden Pack (2027 3B, Walled Lake, MI)- Ultra talented two way guy in the '27 class, athletic frame with quick hands that leads to a whippy barrel. Loose and simple, low liners here throughout the round to the MOF.

Austin Neese (2027 3B, Sugar Hill, GA)- About as consistent as you can get in game, physical frame for the class with a simple and functional swing to pair. Gets to it easy, simple trigger and load that allows for barrel accuracy and some pop, will continue to fill out the upper half.

Levi Jones (2026 C, Glen Allen, VA) Strong bodied right-handed backstop in the '26 class had a solid round, working the pull side exclusively here with low liners throughout. Engages the hips and lower half well, strong limbs up top help add some pop to the overall process. Should continue to get stronger, good follow in the class.

Everett Marshall (2025 C, Lighthouse Point, FL)- Multiple baseballs in play over 95+ EV, three of which left the yard entirely. Mammoth juice, raw power is there and should be interesting to see how the swing translates in game. Strength is no question here.

Martin Shelar (2026 OF, Decatur, GA)- Well built and athletic prospect, very fast hands here with a quick and simple launch. Adjusts the lower half and shoulders to launch/lift, pull-side driven here with some MOF contact mixed in. Uphill path, strength is apparent; up to 95 EV off wood.

Ian Evert (2027 3B, Bloomfield Hills, MI)- Compact build here with some proportional strength, contact driven swing here who was touching 88-90 EVs; topped off at 94. Should hit in game with it, components work.

Leamsi Montanez (2025 C, Arroyo, PR) littered the pull side with line drives, clean swing with a good handle of the barrel. Up to 90 EV off wood, quick hands and could pull them in when needed. Good look here from Montanez.

Juan Diego Santos (2025 C, Carolina, PR) flashed some raw pop here when he got connected with it out front, up to 95 EV off wood with bullets to the pull-side. Consistency will be a factor moving forward but has it in the tank for sure, interesting in game follow.

Joel Arroyo (2026 OF, Homestead, FL)- Adjustable and clean right-handed stroke on display here, MOF and deeper PS contact throughout the round. Really projectable/athletic looking body, has a chance to grow into this long term as a '26.

Anthony Castillo (2025 SS, Hialeah, FL)- Connected and fluid left handed stroke, good chance to grow into this with size and time. MIF body, athletic look overall and loose.

Ryan Lopez (2025 OF, Comerio, PR)-Strong bodied OF here with athletic actions and overall fluidity to the swing, very consistent and hard contact to pull capped off with a 93 max EV. Will continue to fill, controls the body well and stays within himself.

Joseph Lawson (2026 C, Fort Myers, FL)- Up to 94 EV here in the round, consistent hard contact sprayed all around the OF grass. Simple mechs and components, swing was easy and fluid.

Kane Moye (2025 1B, McDonough, GA)- Standout raw power with a max EV of 103 and tacked on a 97 and 99 too. Big load with fast hands, physical upper half and gets entire body into the swing to generate force. Power upside is adundant.

Dallas Peoples (2026 OF, Atlanta, GA)- Wiry and athletic frame with a quick left handed swing, peppered it to both sides of the field with authority. Intriguing follow when more muscle comes onto the body and he starts to lift it some, apparent feel for the wood/barrel here.

Kevin Alonso (2026 C, Miami, FL)- Strong and compact framed backstop, strong hands and lower half let him generate solid EVs up to 95. Lot of backside contact, consistent barrels to both sides of the field and should continue to add in the upper half.

Fernando Ferrer (2025 3B, Kissimmee, FL)- Big and projectable corner build, strong kid that touched 90 EV's x3 in the round. Good feel to lift it and work the MOF, really good body here and gets a longer set of levers in sync rather well for the age.

Reece Newberry (2025 C, Lilburn, GA)- Well built backstop with EVs up to 89 here, strength shows in both halves with a thick and filled out frame. Has raw pop in there and has shown he can hit in game as well in a tough travel state, adjustable in the box.

Taylor Casson (2026 3B, Atlanta, GA)- All kinds of size here that is rare for a kid this age/class, coordinates the levers well and can adjust in game; power potential given the lean muscle he has and stroke. One to watch here, up to 92 EV.

Emani Ford (2026 SS, Lilburn, GA)- Projectable athlete here with switch hitability, lean kid with good rhythm and fluidity to the cut. Consistent from the right side with low liners peppering the left side of the outfield, will be interesting when more size is there.

Reid Gainous (2026 3B, Cairo, GA)- Effortless simple stroke from the right side, easy turns and leverages it well out front. Up to 93 off the wood, good feel to lift the baseball and work the pull side with consistency.

Luke Adams (2027 3B, Cumming, GA) found the barrel often here in the round, displayed ability to lift it and have it carry some pullside. Power corner profile long term, strong kid for the class and should continue to add raw power as he naturally grows.

Adrien Islas (2026 1B, Powder Springs, GA)- Consistent 86+ EVs here, thick corner profile with a strong lower half and quick hands that helped create some whip to the barrel. Swing should translate in game as it's simple and direct, power upside here and will stick at the corners.

Payton Walker (2027 3B, Buford, GA)- Substantial raw power here for a '27, physical frame but moves around well and can adjust with it; corner projection long term and may be able to tap into that raw pop in game down the line.

Felipe Benitez (2026 3B, Pembroke Pines, FL)- Real projectable overall profile here from Benitez who should get into some raw power sooner rather than later based off the frame, functional swing that backspun hard contact to the pull side.

Juan Diego Amescua (2025 SS, San Antonio, TX) collected himself a really solid round to kick off the nightcap here. Consistently posted 85+ EV's with an easy flick of the wrists, low tension stroke and showed he was able to get the barrel out and impact it over and over.

William Hurt (2025 SS, Midlothian, VA)- Fluid separation process and quick hands, handled lefty BP nicely with multiple barreled up LD's over to the pullside. Easy to see the D1 commitment, looks the part in there and will only continue to see an upwards arrow next to his name.

Brody Takacs (2026 1B, McMurray, PA)- Gets to the raw power so easy, ended off his round with a bomb over the LF fence to cap off a solid round; 95 EV on the bomb and effortlessly lofts the baseball in there.

Christian Barnes (2026 OF, North Wales, PA)- Lot of twitch here, athletic kid with lean strength and it comes off the barrel loud when it's timed up properly. 94 & 95 EVs posted back to back, found a groove late in the round and really flashed it. Timing will be key, but this was loud.

Drew Taylor (2026 C, Murrieta, CA)- Athletic and long backstop, fluid stroke present from the right side with an ability to loft it. Banged a few off the green monster, has some juice upside to tap into and may start seeing these off the wall start going over in the near future.

Cason Fletcher (2026 SS, Hahira, GA)- Solid MOF and PS contact throughout the entirety of the round, well built MIF with a good handle of the barrel. Projectable '26 here with high upside body wise and in the box.

Kaden (KJ) Jones (2026 C, Rockledge, FL)-Lot of raw power here, big bodied corner who can really whip the barrel head around and impact the baseball to the pullside. Swings it hard but under control, interesting to see the power potential here long term.

Ashton Bell (2025 OF, Houston, TX) capped off his team's BP with a lot of loud noises, barreling up a lot of baseballs to the deeper parts of the MOF and PS, rounded off with one off the green wall. Clean stroke and functional, should translate in game.

Sebastian Betancourt (2026 OF, Doral, FL)- Lean frame with a lot of room to fill in, clean move in and can turn it over to pull with some stuff to project on here.

Beckett Suh (2026 SS, Zionsville, IN)- Quick left handed stroke, has some switch hitability in there as he can do it just as well from the right side. Intriguing prospect from IN as well, MIF guy with a good frame and solid athleticism that should bode well moving forward; fast hands.

David Bankston (2027 3B, McDonough, GA)- Very athletic looking frame and actions for a '27 here, solid feel to manipulate the barrel head and cover the plate. All over the outfield grass during this round, going to be one to watch as he continues to grow.
