Tyler Scataglia (2018 RHP, Houston, TX) showed off a short and quick arm on the mound, running his fastball up to 84 mph for the Gold team with nice sinking life down in the zone. He also flashed a curveball that was up to 73 mph and a changeup that touched 70 mph. An at-bat after picking up a single past the shortstop, Scataglia also added a double with a line drive that he kept inside the pull side line for an RBI.
Rakim Jones (2018 2B, Boyce, LA) put his bat speed on display in his first at-bat as he roped a hard line drive single past the third baseman before showing some speed and swiping second base. He then picked up another base knock with a solid piece up the middle and topped out at 83 mph on the mound as well.
Kevin Rosengren (2018 RHP, Round Rock, TX) impressed during his time on the mound running his fastball up to 83 mph with solid angle while showing the ability to work either side of the plate. More impressive though was his ability to mix three pitches for strikes and throw them regardless of the count helping to strike out five. He also picked up a triple from the right side.
Chandler Christofferson (2018 RHP, Spring, TX), like Rosengren above, showed comfort on the mound in mixing all of his pitches for strikes. Up to 79 mph with his fastball he made quick work of his four innings, allowing just two base hits while striking out five. At the plate he added a double down the left field line showing a direct path to the ball.
Cristian Gonzalez (2018 1B, Brownsville, TX) impressed with the bat during his first two trips to the plate as he twice picked up doubles, showing strength off of the barrel. A strongly built righthanded hitter, Gonzalez first went deep to center field before showing the same fluid stroke on a double that hopped against the left field wall.
Robert Ruff (2019 OF, Bulverde, TX)chipped in for the Gold team with a double of his own, showing strength to the pull side as he launched a high double deep to the left-center field gap prior to coming around to score a run.
Patrick Dilullo (2018 SS, Austin, TX)showed off some ability as a two-way as he ran his fastball up to 82 mph with sinking life from a loose arm action while spinning a nice downer curveball for strikes and turning over a quality changeup. He also showed with the bat, barreling up a ball for a deep double to centerfield with nice carry off the bat.
Wallace (Tre`) Jones III (2018 LHP, Houston, TX) found the barrel throughout the game and though only one fell for a base hit it was a nice one as he lined an outer half pitch deep to left field, showing nice carry to the opposite field and solid jump at the point of contact for a double.
Robert Charles Trevino (2018 SS, Cypress, TX) made the defensive gem of the game out at second base as he fielded a slow roller behind the bag, picked the ball, then complete a jump and spin throw across his body to get the runner at first base. it was a nice display of Trevino's overall athleticism.
