High School Preseason Top 50: 50-41 | 40-31 | 30-21

20. Summerville (Summerville, S.C.)
2023 Record: 23-9
Head Coach: Thane Maness
Notable Prospect(s): OF PJ Morlando (South Carolina), RHP Carson Messina (South Carolina), RHP Thayer Tavormina (USC-Upstate), RHP Cooper Robinson (Utah Tech), RHP Drew Hayes (College of Charleston), RHP Aiden Vorlick

Summerville came up short of the ultimate goal by a few wins a season ago, but they return a ton of talent. They will also be breaking into the 2024 campaign with a new man at the helm in Than Maness who inherits one of the top programs in the state. Headlining the Summerville roster is the number-one overall player in the country in PJ Morlando. Having Morlando gives them thump in the middle of the lineup to go along with a wealth of riches on the mound. Leading that charge will be South Carolina commit Carson Messina who’s been into the mid-90s. Along with him are fellow seniors Thayer Tavormina and Cooper Robinson as well as juniors Drew Hayes and Aiden Vorlick. The mix of talent on the mound and at the plate give them a great chance to win their first state championship since 2016.

19. American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.)
2023 Record: 21-6
Head Coach: Bruce Aven
Notable Prospect(s): OF Lucas Ramirez (Tennessee), 3B Rafael Furcal Jr., RHP Antonio Turco (NYU), OF Andrew Ortiz (Indiana St), RHP Talan Holiday (UNC), SS Christopher Levy Gutierrez, SS RJ Machado (FSU), OF Jordan Rich, OF Hayden Harrison, LHP Spencer Krasner (Virginia), SS Blayden Caballero

The 2023 season ended with a huge victory for the Patriots as they won their first state championship in over a decade. They return some big names from last year’s squad as they look to repeat as champions. The pitching staff will be led by two underclass arms that are no stranger to the big moments in Talan Holiday and Spencer Krasner, both played a huge role in their title run a year ago. Offensively they will be led by seniors Lucas Ramirez and Rafael Furcal Jr. They’ll round out the offense with an impressive list of juniors in Christopher Levy Gutierrez, RJ Machado, Jordan Rich and Hayden Harrison. All in all this roster from top to bottom is certainly one that could make another run back to Fort Myers and secure the 5A state title.

18. Parkview (Lilburn, Ga.)
2023 Record: 32-8
Head Coach: Chan Brown
Notable Prospect(s): 3B Cade Brown (Georgia), RHP Thorpe Musci (Georgia Tech), LHP Ford Thompson (Mercer), C Ethan Finch (Kennesaw St), SS Adrian Jimenez (VCU), OF Makhi Buckley, SS Eli Pitts (South Carolina), LHP Porter Berryman (Brown), OF Malachi Washington, OF Ellis Appling

Even while losing some key parts from the 2023 team, the Panthers once again return one of the top rosters in the country in 2024 as they look to regain the state crown. This offense will be able to line up with any in Georgia and they return Cade Brown who hit 14 home runs a season ago. They’ll round out the offense with Ethan Finch, Adrian Jimenez, Makhi Buckley, Eli Pitts and Malachi Washington. On the mound they’ll be led by Thorpe Musci, who threw the ball extremely well in big moments a season ago, and Ford Thompson who is back healthy after some injuries a season ago. They’re one of the more consistent powerhouses in the country and Chan Brown yet again brings a talent filled roster looking to make another deep run into the playoffs.

17. Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, Calif.)
2023 Record: 28-4
Head Coach: Tom Dill
Notable Prospect(s): RHP Levi Sterling (Texas), RHP Sammy Petrocelli (Stanford), OF Henry Leipart (NYU), RHP Nate Kugler (Dartmouth), OF Alex Richardson, RHP Logan Berenson (Boston College), 3B Dominic Cadiz, RHP J. Beckett Berg

Coming off of a strong campaign that saw them finish 1st in the Mission League and rattle off 28 wins, the Knights return some big talent on the mound as they look to run through another tough schedule. Not many programs would be able to rebound from losing a top-100 player on the mound like Notre Dame is having to do with Justin Lee, but they just reload with another big talent in Levi Sterling to lead the rotation in 2024. Sterling along with Sammy Petrocelli give them a great one-two punch at the head of the rotation. The offensive side will be led by Henry Leipart and Alex Richardson. With the pitching staff that the Knights are able to run out on a daily basis, they’ll be able to match up well with most teams in the country.

16. Lowndes (Valdosta, Ga.)
2023 Record: 29-13
Head Coach: Ryan Page
Notable Prospect(s): 3B Tate Sirmans (Ole Miss), RHP Noah Thigpen (Troy), 2B Carson Page (Georgia Tech), OF Jordan Hudson (UT-Martin), C Nate Slaughter (Thomas University), RHP Brayden York (Gordon CC), OF Coleman Lewis, OF/LHP Matthew Kerrigan (Auburn)

The 2023 season didn’t start off the best for the Lowndes Vikings as they got off to a 5-9 start, however they ended the year winning 24 of their remaining 28 games in route to a state championship crown. They return some key pieces from that state championship roster from a season ago on both sides of the ball. The offensive side will be led my Ole Miss signee Tate Sirmans and Georgia Tech signee Carson Page. They’ll be joined alongside by Jordan Hudson and Nate Slaughter along with extremely talented sophomore and two-way player Matthew Kerrigan. Their ace from a year ago in Noah Thigpen returns after a year that saw him throw in countless huge innings. Brayden York will be relied upon in a big way along with Matthew Kerrigan who’s coming off a strong freshman campaign. They come into the year with big expectations as they look to repeat as 7A champions.

15. West Monroe (West Monroe, La.)
2023 Record: 34-5
Head Coach: Wade Simoneaux
Notable Prospect(s): SS Hayden Federico (Ole Miss), OF John Pearson (LSU), OF Isaiah Shivers (UL Monroe), 1B Trey Hawsey (Louisiana Tech), C Tyler Roark, RHP Andrew Ferguson (Louisiana Tech), LHP Bradyn Garner (LSU)

It’s a pretty constant battle for who the top dog is in the state of Louisiana, and this program was in 2022 when they won their first state title in over 20 years. They nearly won it again in 2023, before falling in dramatic fashion to Barbe in the title game, but a lot of the group that has had them in contention the past 2 years is still here, now seniors. They’ve got a ton of talent at the upperclass level with nationally ranked players like Hayden Federico, John Pearson and Isaiah Shivers, while some other guys like Trey Hawsey and their juniors, give them a ton of lineup depth. It’s not a star-studded older group on the mound, but they’ve got guys that will play at the next level and Bradyn Garner is a sophomore with huge stuff.

14. Pearland (Pearland, Texas)
2023 Record: 38-7-1
Head Coach: David Rogers
Notable Prospect(s): LHP Ryler Smart (Tennessee), LHP Jaden Barfield (Oklahoma), RHP Jacob Mader-Cooper (Rice), OF Isaiah Castaneda (Rice), RHP Trevor Ainsworth (McLennan CC), RHP Daniel Ontiveros (Alvin CC), SS/RHP Nicholas Partida (Arizona St), C Cade Adams (Southern Miss), C Brady Brewer

Just like West Monroe, this program lost in the state title game in 2023, but they also bring back a TON of their biggest contributors to the success that led them there. The depth they have on the mound is tough to match as Ryler Smart, Jaden Barfield and two-way Nicholas Partida along with Rice commit Jacob Mader-Cooper makes probably the most formidable rotation in the state, while the rest of the staff gives them a ton of other options to go to as well. They’ll get offensive production out of the bulk of those guys too, while the list of hitters they have is strong too. They started out slow and got hot at the right time in ‘23; they’ve got the talent and experience to win it all in 2024.

13. North Broward Prep (Coconut Creek, Fla.)
2023 Record: Brian Campbell
Head Coach: 27-5
Notable Prospect(s): SS/RHP Mateo Gray (UCF), RHP Ryan McPherson (Mississippi St), OF Riley Luft (App State), 3B Gian De Castro (Arizona St), 3B Nikolas Koorse, C Tj Gramesty (FAU), SS Kiernan O’Neill (UCF), RHP John Rodriguez, C Braeden Seculer, OF Adolfo Camacho

North Broward Prep nearly made it 3 straight titles in a row when they unfortunately fell to a very good Calvary Christian team in 2023’s state title game, but this senior group is back looking to go out on top with titles in 3 out of 4 years. They’ve got a deep group who quite frankly knows how to win games, not to mention the number of guys that are headed to play at big programs at the next level. Mateo Gray is one of the most dynamic two-way guys in the state, while Ryan McPherson is a high-level starter and Riley Luft has thrown a ton of innings over the years for them. They’ve got an even deeper group of hitters making this one of the better lineups in the state, especially when their offensive is clicking in the playoffs.

12. Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.)
2023 Record: 26-5
Head Coach: Mike Woods
Notable Prospect(s): C Drew Rogers (Georgia Tech), SS AJ Diaz (Yavapai College), C Liam Wilson (Harvard), RHP Clint Moak (Marshall), OF Caden Burghardt (Colorado School of Mines), 3B/RHP Boston Kellner (Louisville), OF Jaylen Payne (Utah), LHP Jack Armijo, SS Cole Berge (Tulane), OF Benjamin Ball (Arizona), C Conor Rae, 3B Blake Gonzales

It was yet another state title finish for Hamilton in 2023, and although they do lose some big pieces, they once again reload with high-end upperclassmen. Drew Rogers is a big add to this group for this spring, bringing high-level play to both the catching side as well as the offense. He’s supported in the senior class by a well-rounded group of guys headed to play at the next level, while the junior class has some bigger names in the state. Boston Kellner can bring big stuff to both sides of the ball, and there’s a strong list of offensive contributors from this class, while Jack Armijo is a left-hander that can contribute really solid innings.

11. Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.)
2023 Record: 36-2
Head Coach: Chris Sheff
Notable Prospect(s): C Burke Mabeus (Oregon), SS Maddox Riske (USC), RHP Henry Prindl (South Carolina), SS Colton Boardman (Cal St Northridge), RHP James Whitaker (LSU), 3B Nolan Eberwein (USC), 3B Kekoa Young, OF Mason Tanner, C Ryan Hunter (Rice), OF Ace Sapp, 1B/OF Chase Wilk

Another staple program on the national scene, Bishop Gorman also won another state title in 2023, finishing the year as one of the best programs in the country (#4 in final rankings). They lost some real physicality from that senior group that made them pretty deadly on the offensive end, but this is a good group full of guys that either contributed heavily last spring or are primed to step into key roles. Burke Mabeus is the big name here as a switch-hitting catcher who can really headline an offense, but he’s got depth around him in the form of more upperclassmen. Henry Prindl is a good arm for this staff, while James Whitaker will continue to be relied upon heavily to log quality innings. They lost 2 games last year by a total of 2 runs; it’s going to be hard to replicate that, but they should be strong once again.

Most Likely To Make a Huge Jump in the Rankings in 2026 RJ Shields (2027, Venice, Fl.) Shields took some significant strides throughout 2025, especially on the mound. The fastball reached 95 mph in recent months and he projects well with great athleticism and a sharp breaking ball. Shields is also a left-handed bat with good thump in the stick. The Mississippi State commit shot up the rankings following a loud fall and looks poised to continue to climb. -KP High speed BP swing from '27 OF Gavin Ruvalcaba (FL)... #JrNational @Florida_PG https://t.co/OwU9I0u6eY pic.twitter.com/gjYZbmCPGE — PG Showcases (@PGShowcases) June 12, 2025 Gavin Ruvalcaba (2027, Hialeah, Fl.) Finest in the Field: Class of 2026 | Class of 2027 | Class of 2028 These guys might just be entering high school, but they've certainly already made a name for themselves on the national circuit, especially with their abilities on the defensive side of things.  C: Xavier Rodriguez (Logansville, GA) Rodriguez is a polished defender with real arm strength behind the dish, while showcasing the ability to impact the baseball with authority to all fields evident by thirty of his sixty-five hits going for extra-bases including seven bombs. He handles high-level pitching extremely well, commands his staff and his offensive prowess makes him a true two-way asset. 1B: Cooper Knight (Buda, TX) Knight is a smooth operator at first base with plenty of range, fluidity and agility in his footwork around the bag. Best Game I Saw: The Dream NTL 18U vs. MBA Scout Team Murphy Jupiter always brings out the best, and we got fireworks from the jump. Turner Marshall gave The Dream an outstanding 4+ innings of work on the mound, holding a lethal MBA team at bay with Chance Dixon, Derrick Carter, and Ellis Appling providing an offensive spark out of the gate for the Georgia based boys. However, it was only a matter of time before the talent on the other side got going, as MBA erased a 3-run deficit in the 5th to take a 4-3 lead led by a Parker Loew HR. The Dream then took command again in the Top of the 6th, before MBA punched right back with a huge 5-run inning in the bottom half capped off by a clutch RBI single from Matthew Kerrigan, ending a wild sequence with tons of notable performances from two very competitive rosters. Best Tournament Performance I Saw: Surely someone has already brought this...

Nebraska Cornhuskers 2025 Highlights: The Cornhuskers were a difficult team to figure in ’25 as they finished with 33 wins, played just .500 (15-15) in the Big Ten but had some big wins at various times during the season and got hot at the right time. They knocked off then #16 Vanderbilt in the second game of the year, beat #5 Oregon State 2-out-of-3 at home in late March and then got hot at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha to win the Big Ten Tournament. They beat Michigan State in a 10-inning thriller before taking care of #4 Oregon, knocking off Penn State and then shutout #13 UCLA to punch their ticket to the Chapel Hill Regional. Head coach Will Bolt has now led his alma mater to three conference titles and three NCAA Regional appearances during his six years in Lincoln. No different than when he was a player, Bolt’s teams play with passion and toughness, this was never more...

Finest in the Field: Class of 2026 | Class of 2027 You like athletes? You like defenders who can impact a game at any given point? Look not further than this class as it's loaded from coast-to-coast with elite defenders all over the diamond.  C: Brogan Witcher, Bakersfield, CA Our scouting staff got several strong looks at Witcher whether that was at the Summer Kickoff, Sophomore National or the Underclass All American Games where he showcased his strong overall skillset and especially his advanced ability behind the plate. His 6-foot-3,180 pound build looks like one that will fill in quite nicely and be that big and physical catcher’s frame. His arm talent is undeniable where he gets it out quick and runs it up to 79 mph on throwdowns to 2nd (1.84 pop). Besides the standout catch/throw ability, we’ve seen him frame/receive strong arms and block it well during...

BURLINGTON, IA - 2025 Perfect Game Softball Toys 4 Tots Fundraiser One Day, December 7, 2025. Kicking off the holiday season, six teams participated in this one day, 3 game guarantee tournament in the 18u Division. We would like to thank those that donated a toy, and know that they will be distributed to area underprivileged children through a local charity organization. Following are some of the top performers from the weekend. Earning Tournament MV-Pitcher was Jolee Strohmeyer (2026 Dubuque, IA), a RHP/UTIL with tournament champion Lady Expos Blue. Strohmeyer shows hitters a consistent and repeatable motion and delivery with good use of the legs in the drive phase, and a quick and aggressive arm whip. Working with a six pitch mix of fastball, change-up, rise, drop, curve and screw, Strohmeyer topped out at 60 mph, and showed good movement  as she worked her rise and curve just out...

The game was an efficiently played affair with arms dominating on both sides. Graham Schlicht was masterful for Alpha, striking out 12 hitters over 5 dominant innings. PG All-American Julian Cazares came out of the pen blowing smoke, touching 97 mph with the fastball. On the other side, Jake Carbaugh surrendered just one hit and...

Finest in the Field: Class of 2026 Elite defenders from coast to coast certainly seems to be a strength and to think you could make another top-tier team without thinking, speaks to the real depth this group possesses. The infield is a no-doubt strength of the group, but what catcher Dariel Carrion can do behind the plate is like something we haven't seen in a while in the prep ranks with an absolutely bazooka of an arm.  C: Dariel Carrion (San Juan, PR)  It isn’t often you get a catching prospect as athletic and natural as Dariel Carrion, a big reason why he holds the rank of #1 player in PR and #18 nationally. Metrics wise, the 5-foot-10, 210 pound San Juan native is all you can ask for and more, posting a sub 1.80 pop time with an 84 mph arm behind the dish. He has both contact and clear power threat on the offensive end, ending 2025 with a .337 BA and 4 HRs while also...

The Class of 2026 is one of the deeper prep classes that we have seen in a couple of years. With that being said, there is plenty of talent on the defensive side. Let’s take a look at some of the best defenders in the class.  C: Will Brick, Christian Brothers HS (Memphis, TN) Brick is a newcomer to the class after reclassifying, but immediately became the top backstop. Extremely advanced actions are shown behind the dish with impressive athleticism to go with it. Brick showcases big time arm strength and is consistently accurate on throw downs. He can make playing the position look extremely easy at times. Brick possesses all the defensive tools needed to be a premier catcher.  1B: AJ Curry, University City HS (San Diego, CA) Curry has a bigger and stronger frame with good strength throughout.
