Cristian Brewster (2023 SS, Porter Ranch, CA) keeps things simple at the plate with a quiet load and smooth stroke. His quick hands allow him to let the ball get deep and his hit tool will only benefit from it. His line drive round led things off and was one of the more professional rounds of the day.
Ian Duarte (2023 OF, Santa Clarita, CA) With a narrow and upright stance, Duarte does a great job of working his hands down through the zone. He shows a great feel for the barrel with an ability to hunt the inner half of the baseball with consistency.
Jordan Carrington (2022 1B, Rancho Cucamonga, CA) showcased fantastic bat speed with good pop to his pull side gap. He has the ability to drive the ball to all fields when on time with the pitcher and he’s learning to use his lower half more with his wider set up.
Cody Nitowitz (2023 OF, Carlsbad, CA)is a switch hitter who impressed with plus bat speed and feel for the barrel from both sides of the plate. He uses a narrow stance with a leg lift trigger from both sides of the plate and has the potential to develop a plus power tool from both sides.
Gabriel Juarez (2022 C, Reseda, CA) used his physical frame to his advantage and drove some balls into both gaps. Simple linear weight shift with not much of a front foot stride, Juarez throws his hands direct to the baseball and explodes his backside through at launch.
Colin Loughrey (2021 OF, Laguna Niguel, CA) has a smooth and fluid stroke with a middle of the field approach that backspins the ball up the middle with consistency. He gets great extension with his hands out in front and he flashed some great pop to his pull side.
Maxwell Paterson (2022 OF, Bothell, WA) put the ball out of the yard to his pull side, as his great bat speed and flat barrel plane through the zone translate to a plus power tool. Paterson’s hit tool stands to continue to improve as he simplifies his stroke and matures his approach.
Sebastian Smith (2021 3B, Lakewood, CA) Also put together a powerful round as he creates a ton of leverage in his swing with a heavy linear weight shift in the box and a long stride trigger. His power tool will continue to improve alongside his large and physical frame.
Easton Marks (2022 OF, Denver, CO) Took a solid round today as he does a good job of staying balanced throughout the swing. He utilized a short, simple cut as he was linear through the zone, impacting out front with authority. He drove it gap to gap during his round and proved to have some pull-side power in the bat.
Hunter Stencil (2022 3B, Bonita, CA) Found a barrel in almost every swing he took today. Advanced bat to ball skills showing as he was consistently on time. He peppered the middle of the field with line drive after line drive and took one of the more impressive rounds from a squaring it up standpoint.
Derek Gonzales (2023 C, Costa Mesa, CA) Utilized a strong set of hands and a sturdy lower half as he impacted the baseball with authority. He knew how to leverage the baseball and did just that as he hammered long fly balls to the middle of the field throughout his round. Look for him to be a power threat down the road as he already is starting to show it.
Samuel Valenti (2024 OF, Santa Rosa, CA) took a slightly inconsistent round today but when he squared it up, it was some of the loudest contact of the day. He creates quick bat speed as he wraps over the helmet and then unwinds. He really proved to have some pull-side pop when he got extended and timed it up.
Cooper Whitton (2022 OF, San Diego, CA) did a good job of transferring weight into the swing as he showed a big leg pick before taking some big cuts at the baseball. He stayed linear through the zone and found some loud barrels to the pull-side. Strength in wrists showing and was confident with the bat in his hands.
Landon Gordon (2025 RHP, Irvine, CA) sprayed the baseball around the park during his round as he found barrels with every cut. He stays short to the baseball, then long through the zone as he finds the bat head with heavy hands. He was consistent with his approach and has great hand-eye coordination, fully showcasing his hit tool.
Caleb Milanes (2022 2B, Signal Hill, CA) took an excellent round of batting practice as he drove the baseball with ease into each gap. He was mechanically sound with his cut as he stayed inside the baseball and knew how to backspin it. He also flashed some power to the pull-side with some long fly-balls.
Steve Arteaga (2022 C, Murrieta, CA) had a great set of hands as he flashed some next level bat to ball type skills. He looked to do damage with every cut he took today and did so with some success. When he found the barrel, he hammered baseballs around the park and even proved to have some projectable power.
