Top 50 Breakdown: 50-41 | 40-31 | 30-21 | 20-11

10. IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)
2025 Record:
24-1
Head Coach: Dave Turgeon

Notable Prospect(s): C Dillon Moss (Stanford), RHP Michael Ramsey, C Charles Messina (Northwestern), 1B Cy Chrisman (Oklahoma State), SS Dylan Messina (Pennsylvania), RHP Michael Todero (St. Joseph’s), SS Max Hemenway (Tennessee), OF Kyler Meccage (Mississippi State), OF Sebastian Wilson (Tennessee), 1B Frank Thomas III (Auburn), SS Juan Diaz (Florida State), C Ethan Armbruster (Mississippi State), SS Antonio Chavez (University of California, Berkeley), RHP Henry Britt, OF Aiden Choo

IMG Academy rattled off an incredible season a year ago, finishing with a 24-1 record, and ended the season being named the national champion. It’s another year in Bradenton with some of the most talented players in the country littering this roster and they’ll look to put together another remarkable spring. They have a strong core of seniors on this roster with PG All-American catcher Dillon Moss leading the way. Michael Ramsey looks like the ace of the staff with some premium stuff. Rounding out the senior group is Charles Massina, Dylan Messina and Michael Todero, while they also added one of the best powers bats in high school last year in Cy Chrisman. The junior class is ridiculous and headlined by four of the top-50 players in the nation in 2027 in Max Hemenway, Kyler Meccage, Sebastian Wilson, and Frank Thomas III. Juan Diaz and Ethan Armbruster are two more highly regarded juniors in this group that will make up most of the lineup. They’ve been a perineal power for quite some time and look the part once again in 2026.

9. Blessed Trinity (Roswell, Ga.)
2025 Record:
34-9
Head Coach: Jamie Wagner

Notable Prospect(s): RHP Joseph Contreras (Vanderbilt), SS Ryder Register, OF Charles Loehrer (Piedmont University), LHP Brayden Loquasto (Michigan State), SS Alex Morales, RHP Noah Kashiparekh (Hamilton), OF Quinn Davis, RHP Zachary Jansen (King University), OF Caden Dawson (Tennessee), 3B Aiden Pack (Georgia), SS Connor Ymbras, RHP Wesley Blair, RHP Johnny Deaderick, 3B Bradyn Oblas, OF Andrew Cochran, C Gavin Greene, 3B Ty Page

Blessed Trinity, one of the top powers in Georgia, returns quite the roster after winning a state title a year ago. It’s a good mix of talented upperclassmen with some underclass names pushing for playing time. The rotation is led by one of the top right-handed pitchers in the entire nation in Vanderbilt commit Joseph Contreras. The PG All-American has high octane stuff with some of the best off-speed stuff in the country. They’ll round out the rotation with Michigan State commit Brayden Loquasto and Georgia commit Aiden Pack, both coming off a 2025 season that saw them get a good chunk of innings. Headlining the offensive side is junior outfielder and Tennessee commit Caden Dawson who brings one of the best left-handed bats in the nation to this offense. The offense lost some production from a year ago but also returns players that played a good bit a year ago such as sophomore catcher Gavin Greene. They’ve been to the mountain top in the state of Georgia in the last 12 months and has a great chance to do so once again in 2026 with a roster that’s just loaded with talent all over the place.

8. South Walton (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.)
2025 Record:
31-4
Head Coach: Nick Borthwick

Notable Prospect(s): 3B Coleman Borthwick (Auburn), RHP Denton Lord (Mississippi State), RHP Griffin Loy, OF Parker Granse (Auburn), OF Declan Fowler, 1B Jace Cunningham (Wallace CC-Dothan), OF Nathan Whitney (Gulf Coast State College), 1B Jayden Cunningham, RHP Justin Didier, SS Vaughn Howard (South Alabama)

South Walton was one of the best teams in the country a year ago from start to finish and while they lost one of the best arms in the country after last year, they bring back two of the best once again to lead their rotation. Senior Coleman Borthwick does a little bit of everything for this team and is one of the higher regarded prospects in the country as a two-way player where he is into the mid-90s along with light tower power. Denton Lord, a PG All-American, has one of the biggest fastballs in the country and they round things out with Parker Granse, an Auburn commit who can really pitch in the upper-80s. Juniors Jayden Cunningham and Vaughn Howard will be mainstays in the lineup along with Borthwick and Granse also being two of their more reliable bats. Even though they didn’t win a state title in 2025 with that group, they bring back some of their best talent and are set up for another deep run in 2026.

7. Grapevine (Grapevine, Tx.)
2025 Record:
36-3
Head Coach: Jimmy Webster

Notable Prospect(s): C Jorvorskie Lane Jr. (Arkansas), OF Lale Esquivel, OF Zackary Goldstein (Blinn College), C Nomar Torres (Northwest Florida State College), 1B Luke Esquivel (LSU), RHP Caleb Evans, 3B Connor Maxfield

Grapevine was arguably the best team in Texas from the start of the year to the end last season, rattling off 36 wins including nine straight to finish the season enroute to a state championship. Well, they return five starters from a season ago to a state championship roster and added one of the best pure hitters in the country in Jorvorskie Lane Jr. Lale Esquivel bolsters this lineup along with fellow seniors Zackary Cgoldstein and Nomar Torres. LSU commit Luke Esquivel is coming off of a big freshman campaign that saw him be one of the more dominant two-way prospects in the state of Texas. Everything seems to be trending the right way in the offseason for another big campaign in Grapevine, hence the reason they’re ranked inside the top-10 to kick off the year.

6. Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville, Fla.)
2025 Record:
30-5
Head Coach: Jonathan Murphy

Notable Prospect(s): OF Brady Harris (Florida), SS Parker Loew (LSU), SS Jordan Martinez (LSU), LHP Tyler Ellis (Florida), RHP Ethan Wheeler (Florida), C Gage Petrutz (Alabama), C Brennan Bachtell, RHP Christopher Reali (North Florida), RHP Romolo “Romy” Decenzo (Davidson), RHP Anthony Panetta, OF DeAndre’ Williams, SS Tyson Brown

This is a team that’s been highly thought of over the last three season since a ridiculous freshman class stepped onto campus in 2022. All of those players are now seniors, and they have their eyes on their first state championship in their last opportunity to do so. Their offense is led by four power-four commits, including three players ranked inside the top-100 nationally in Brady Harris, Parker Loew, and Jordan Martinez. Tyler Ellis rounds out that group and he’s been a reliable bat for them for quite some time along with being one of the top arms in the state. Florida commit Ethan Wheeler looks to lead the rotation again this spring along with fellow senior right-handers Christopher Reali, a North Florida commit, and Romolo “Romy” Decenzo, a Davidson commit. This is the same core that they have had for a few years and they’re looking to finish off their high school careers with an emphatic end in 2026 with a state title.

5. Etowah (Woodstock, Ga.)
2025 Record:
34-4
Head Coach: Greg Robinson

Notable Prospect(s): OF Trevor Condon (Tennessee), RHP Matthew Sharman (Georgia), OF Deion Cole (Georgia Tech), C Carson Moore, LHP Zane Ledford (Georgia Highlands), LHP Brady Colton (Piedmont University), C Caden Borcherding (Clemson), SS Jackson Norwood, SS Nate Curcio (Jacksonville State), MIF Colin Anderson, OF Dyson Sparks

Etowah rolled through the regular season a year ago with an emphatic 34-2 record, including going 17-1 in one of the toughest regions in the state. Their season didn’t end the way they wanted with a loss in the state semifinals, but they have a chance in 2026 to make it two state titles in a three year run and have all the ability to do so. They’re led by a trio of dynamic seniors in Trevor Condon, Matthew Sharman, and Deion Cole. All three have made a huge impact since they stepped foot on campus and look to end their high school journeys with another emphatic run. The talent doesn’t stop there either as they have arguably the best catcher in the state in junior Caden Borcherding as well as one of the more dynamic sophomores in the country in Colin Anderson. Round that out with a player that’s jumped on the scene in a big way in Nate Curcio and you have all the makings of a state title winner and a top-5 team in the country.

4. Tampa Jesuit (Tampa, Fla.)
2025 Record:
25-10
Head Coach: Miguel Menendez

Notable Prospect(s): RHP Kaden Waechter (Florida State), RHP Wilson Andersen (Mississippi State), OF Cannon Murtagh (Virginia), LHP William “Liam” Amoriello (Indiana), 2B Christian Sheffield (Florida A&M), LHP Ben Burke (Appalachain State), RHP Hector Rivera (Tampa), RHP Eric Knowles (Johns Hopkins University), RHP Samir Mohammed (LSU), 1B Griffin Boesen (Duke), C Bryce Besece (Baylor), RHP Jaeger Bedford, OF Mason Greco, RHP Cale Lichtenberg

Jesuit came into the 2025 season with one of the best starting staffs in the country and not much has changed on that front coming into 2026. They’re headlined by two of the top right-handers in the 2026 class with a pair of PG All-Americans in Kaden Waechter and Wilson Andersen. On top of that they also have the top right-hander in the 2027 class in Samir Mohammed. It’s one of the more loaded teams on the pitching side that we’ve seen in quite some time and that’s not even mentioning countless other commitments on this roster. Moving over to the hitting side, they also bring back one of their premium contributors from a season ago in Virginia commit Cannon Murtagh. Along with they also have a pair of juniors set to make a major impact in Griffin Boesen and Bryce Besece. The starting staff garners all the headlines and rightfully so, but the offense seems to be in a good position as well as they look to win another state championship.

3. Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.)
2025 Record:
23-7
Head Coach: RJ Farrell

Notable Prospect(s): OF Eric Zdunek (Notre Dame), RHP Gary Morse (Tennessee), RHP Cooper Sides (LSU), SS Cole “CJ” Weinstein (LSU), OF Hamilton Friedberg (UCLA), C Brady Murrietta (Texas), SS Gavin Hottle (Southern Cal), SS Marcus Greis (TCU), RHP Jaeden Estevez, RHP Blake Killinger, OF Rock Akahi, SS Bear Calvo (Arkansas), SS Jordan Kurz (South Carolina), OF Ricardo Hurtado, RHP Anthony Tomminelli, RHP Sam Principe, RHP Eli Phillips, 1B Scott Fritz, 1B Zach Estrada, RHP Ethan Torress, OF Owen Mescall, OF Angel Gonzalez, SS Zion Avina, OF Josiah Park

Orange Lutheran comes into the spring with as much talent as anyone in the entire country with lofty goals and expectations this season. Speaking of talent, this roster boasts a ridiculous seven seniors inside the top-200 in the national rankings, giving them elite depth both offensively and on the mound. The lineup will be led by Eric Zdunek, Cole “CJ” Weinstein, Hamilton Friedberg, Brady Murrietta, Gavin Hottle, and Marcus Gries. All six are committed to power programs and are widely regarded as some of the best prospects across the entire nation. Along with this, they also have two of the best arms in California leading their rotation in Gary Morse and Cooper Sides, both bringing high octane arsenals to the table. As you can tell, it’s an insanely loaded roster and that’s just mentioning the seniors. The junior class has just as much depth and is headlined by Bear Calvo, Jordan Kurz and Ricardo Hurtado, all three ranked inside the top-500 players in the 2027 class. Expectations are once again high for Orange Lutheran, and they are well positioned to have a special season.

2. Stoneman Douglas (Parkland, Fla.)
2025 Record:
31-2
Head Coach: Todd Fitz-Gerald

Notable Prospect(s): LHP Gio Rojas (Miami), OF Lorenzo Laurel (Florida), 2B Cade Raley, OF Randy Ruiz, RHP Drew Boivin (Northwest Florida State College), OF Reid Dadic, SS Abraham Halaoui (Dayton State College), OF Jake Rizzo (Dayton), 1B Matthew Toback (Dayton State College), RHP Zack Weiselberg, RHP Benjamin Bianchi, C Jackson Taylor, SS Brayden Miller, C Ander Elorriaga

We’ve already mentioned some historic runs that teams inside the top-50 are on but none quite compare to what Stoneman Douglas is in the midst of doing. They’re the first team in Florida history to win five straight state championships, doing so in the highest classification in Florida, and once again are positioned to win another. This team is deep with upperclass talent and is led by the highest ranked pitcher in the country in Miami commit Gio Rojas. Senior Drew Boivin and junior Benjamin Bianchi give them a good surrounding cast of arms to follow Rojas. On the offensive side they have one of the premier bats in the state as they usually do in senior outfielder and Florida commit Lorenzo Laurel. They once again have great depth on the offensive side with names like Cade Raley, Randy Ruiz, Reid Dadic, Abraham Halaoui, and Jake Rizzo. It’s been a historic run for coach Todd Fitz-Gerald that doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.

1: St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.)
2025 Record:
30-4
Head Coach: Andy Rojo

Notable Prospect(s): SS James Clark, OF Jaden Jackson (UCLA), 3B Noah Everly (Seattle University), RHP Julian Garcia (Long Beach State), OF Jhett Ohira (Southern Cal), 1B Moises Razo (Long Beach State), RHP Gavin Cervantes (Long Beach State), OF Miles Clark, LHP Cole Knupfer (St. Mary’s), SS Jack Champlin (UC Irvine), C Aiden Castro, OF Jack Hortiz, LHP Griffin Tagliaferri (Long Beach State), OF Jack Waeger, C Anton Romo, C Aaron Garcia, C Richard Avina, RHP Brayden Krakowski, RHP Troy Sibolboro, LHP Ryan Morales

St. John Bosco won two of arguably the hardest things to win in a historic 2025 season as they won the Trinity League and won the CIF Southern Section. Even with it being two of the hardest things to do in all of the country, the 2026 team looks to be set up to repeat in both this spring. They’re one of the deeper lineups in the nation with James Clark leading the way and rounded out by seniors Jaden Jackson, Noah Everly and Jett Ohira. The offense is deep with talent and experience, much like the pitching staff as well. Julian Garcia was a standout in Jupiter and brings some dynamic stuff to the table and looks to be primed to lead them on the mound. Seniors Gavin Cervantes and Cole Knupfer are two experienced arms that return as well as Jack Champlin showing big time stuff in the preseason. There are names we haven’t mentioned that will make a huge impact here and that shows the depth of this talented roster. They dominated in 2025 the most talented league in the country in 2025 and are well-positioned to do so again, making them the clear choice for preseason #1.

Welcome to another Perfect Game Mock Draft. This is not your typical mock draft as it features 15 different GMs drafting the first two rounds of the draft. Each member of the mock draft was assigned two teams and as such will be drafting all of the picks in the first two rounds for each responsible team. The actual draft order will be presented below and we will dive into how teams made their selections and how they feel about the players drafted. It is important to note that this is not how we think the draft will play out in almost any capacity. This is simply an exercise 4 months ahead of time with a large portion of the scouting staff and some picks fall under personal favorites, best available, and a multitude of other factors. DII/DIII/NAIA Rankings Update: April 1

Nick Herfordt
Article Image
Welcome to another week of Perfect Game Small School baseball — and if you're looking for clarity at the top, you've come to the wrong place. Across all three classifications, the No. 1 spot is very much an open question, and nobody is sleeping comfortably right now. In NCAA Division II, Pittsburg State is stumbling at precisely the wrong moment, leaving the door cracked wide open for hungry challengers to come knocking. In the NAIA, defending national champion LSU Shreveport has dropped four straight and suddenly looks far more vulnerable than a program of their pedigree ever expects to be. And in NCAA Division III, the race for the top ranking is less a competition and more a ten-car pileup of elite programs, none of whom have done enough to pull away — and all of whom have done plenty to deserve it. Three classifications, three vacancies at the top, and a whole lot of...
