Turner has the look and tools to be an offensive catcher long term. At 6-1/185 he already has the build and is a good enough athlete to run a sub-7 in the 60-yard dash. His defensive talent is there, and performance will become more refined with reps and time. But there is no doubt about his talent on the offensive side of things. Showing quick hands, accuracy with the barrel and the ability to drive balls gap-to-gap, Tuner put up huge numbers in game play. With the help of his mid-90’s exit velo, he went 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored and two triples. Turner has not yet committed.

He is lean with wiry strength at 6-0/165 and reached exit velos with the stick of 90 mph from the right side and 97 from the left. Neil Gornto  RHP - 2025 - St Johns, FL
Uncommitted

Day 1 of Main Event for me was highlighted by Gornto’s outing on the mound. The fluidity of the motion with such effortless velocity is always an exciting watch. Gornto possesses an ability to really work both sides of the plate particularly the inner third where he chewed up the hands of right-handed hitters. The slider comes hard off the fastball plane in sharp biting fashion. Fair to say it produced some ugly late count swings. Gornto stamped his mark on the game and should garner much collegiate attention over his sophomore season.
