Martin Galo is a 2025 SS/RHP with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Florida Virtual. A lean frame and compact build with quick-twitch actions overall. Ran a 7.32 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop who had soft hands and got to the ball up the middle, adjusting arm slots as needed. He was agile and had a good backhand that he trusted. He ranged well up the middle and was in control of himself throughout the round of reps in the infield. He also worked out as an outfielder with some serious whip to his arm on the throws. Good twitch on his actions to get moving and work into the gather. He carries his weight into the throw and lets it eat. A switch hitter. As a left-handed hitter he has an even base with a high back elbow and tight hands. Inward stride to get on time. He had some feel for the barrel being able to make contact to the opposite field from this side. As a right-handed hitter, it was a straight stance and similar setup. Had some hand quickness through the zone. Better job getting extended from the right side. Produce solid contact throughout his swings as a right-hander. Picked up a base hit during games as well. Also took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher. Staggered start on the first base side of the rubber. Had some life in the arm and used a toe-tap on the rubber for rhythm. Pitched from an over-the-top slot working 81-84 mph on the fastball. Spun it up to 2,210 RPMs. Had some zip and jumped out of hand at times. Also showed two distinctive breakers. His curveball was around 70 mph with a distinct 12-6 hammer shape. Had late bite, and he had a good feel for the pitch, spinning it up to 2,485 RPMs. The slider was more horizontal and worked in the lower to mid-70s, spinning around 2,200 RPMs. He also mixed in a changeup with some depth, at 77 mph, that he killed spin on down to 1,581 RPMs. He mixed it up and had a solid outing. He punched out 6 opposing hitters over 3 innings of work while allowing no hits. Great student.
