High School Top 50: 21-30

Preseason Top 50 Countdown: 41-50 | 31-40

21. Prestonwood Christian (Plano, Tx.)

2024 Record:
26-2-1
Head Coach: James Vilade

Notable Prospect(s): LHP Robert X Mitchell (Texas), LHP Wolfgang Braasch (Texas Tech), RHP Landon Murphy (UT Arlington), RHP Trent Vilade (Texas A&M), OF Austin Smith, OF Lash Henderson

Prestonwood Christian rattled off one of their best years in program history a season ago and they’re looking to do so yet again in 2025. They have more than enough talent to do so as well and everything starts on the mound. They have four arms that are committed to division-one programs including Texas signee Robert X Mitchell, Texas Tech signee Wolfgang Braasch, UT Arlington signee Landon Murphy and junior right-hander and Texas A&M commit Trent Vilade. It's quite a ridiculous number of arms that they’ll be able to roll out on any given day and they also bring back two incredibly talented outfielders in junior Austin Smith and top-5 player in the 2027 class in Lash Henderson. After being eliminated in the final-four a season ago, they come into the year as the favorite to bring home their third state championship in program history.

22. West Monroe (West Monroe, La.)

2024 Record: 31-8
Head Coach: Brad Simpson

Notable Prospect(s):
C Tyler Roark (ULM), RHP Andrew Ferguson (Louisiana Tech), LHP Bradyn Cupit (LSU)

West Monroe returns in the 2025 campaign after a strong campaign a year ago that saw them rattle off their second straight state championship. They have some important pieces to replaces from a season ago, but they come back as the early favorites to repeat. They have a strong one-two punch in their rotation with highly ranked junior left-hander Bradyn Cupit and senior right-hander and Louisiana Tech signee Andrew Ferguson leading the charge on the mound. They also have one of the better catchers in the state in Tyler Roark handling the staff behind the plate as well as providing some power at the dish. They come back as one of the top teams in the state once again and it’s easy to bet on the winning pedigree that they’ve had for quite some time. The starting staff is one of the better in the state and they’ll rely on them heavily to try to finish off the three-peat in 2025.

23. Santa Margarita Catholic (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.)

2024 Record:
22-10-1
Head Coach: Chris Malec

Notable Prospect(s): RHP Hayden George (UCLA), C Lucas Owens, SS Gavin Spiridonoff (Cal Poly), 2B Brody Schumaker (TCU), C Warren Gravely IV (Notre Dame), 3B Andre Owens (Oklahoma State), OF Jacob Wicker (Loyola Marymount), OF Vincent Milo

Santa Margarita Catholic is another one of the usual suspects that come into every year as one of the higher ranked programs in the country. 2025 is no different as they bring back an extremely talented group led by an impressive senior and junior class. Headlining the senior class is UCLA signee and right-hander Hayden George, Lucas Owens, and Cal Poly signee Gavin Spiridonoff. The senior class is strong, but they also boast one of the better junior groups in Southern California, having two players ranked inside the top-275 in the class. Brody Schumaker and Warren Gravely IV lead that group along with Andre Owens, Jacob Wicker, and Vincent Milo. It’s yet another highly talented group in Rancho Santa Margarita with a solid chance of rattling off a season similar to their 2023 campaign, one in which they finished ranked inside the top-15 in the country.

24. Alred M. Barbe (Lake Charles, La.)

2024 Record:
34-7
Head Coach: Glenn Cecchini

Notable Prospect(s): C Presley Courville (Texas), OF John David Alexander (Texas A&M), RHP Myles Ledoux, OF Jordin Griffin (LSU)

Barbe has been a usual suspect to look for in the top-50 for a while and they bring back another star-studded roster as they look to capture their 13th state championship in school history. They have one of the top ranked catchers in the 2025 class in Texas signee Presley Courville and also return a top-10 talent in the 2027 class and LSU commit Jordin Griffin. The offensive firepower doesn’t stop there as they also have Texas A&M commit John David Alexander and a top-10 player in the state in 2026 in Myles Ledoux. They’ve had more star power in previous seasons but the track record of winning and top end talent on this roster has Barbe ranked highly once again in the preseason as they look to get their hands back on that championship trophy this year.

25. Brother Rice (Chicago, Ill.)

2024 Record:
20-18
Head Coach: Sean McBride

Notable Prospect(s): Gavin Triezenberg (Arizona), 3B Aidan Nohava (Eastern Michigan), 2B Derrick Holmes, MIF Jackson Natanek (Illinois State), OF Nolan Ramoley (Kentucky), LHP Braydon Mckendrick, SS Colin Campbell (Louisville), IF Mikey Watson, RHP Brady Cunningham

Brother Rice has been one of the better programs in Illinois for quite some time and they bring back one of the most talented rosters yet again in the state. It’s a strong senior group of bats in Gavin Triezenberg, Aidan Nohava, Derrick Holmes, and Jackson Natanek. They also return Kentucky commit Nolan Ramoley and junior left-handed Braydon Mckendrick to the 2025 roster. The junior and senior classes are strong, and they also have one of the top sophomore classes anywhere in the country as the have five juniors ranked at 500 or better, including three inside the top-500. All in all, Brother Rice boasts five division-one commitments through all their classes, giving them one of the stronger rosters on paper in the country. They’ll be looking to put together a special season in 2025 and they seem to be in great position to do so.

26. Corona Del Sol (Tempe, Ariz.)

2024 Record:
10-18
Head Coach: Dave Webb

Notable Prospect(s): RHP Brett Crossland (Texas), SS Jaiden LoRe (BYU), C Cooper Clouser (Arizona State), RHP Zane Burns (Oklahoma State), RHP Ryan Caruso (Arizona State), OF Parker Williams, RHP Preston Berg (SDSU), SS Conor Rae, OF Ben Jacobus

Corona Del Sol got off to a slow start a year ago and never could get their footing, finishing the year at 10-18. Don’t read too much into that record from a year ago as they also come into the 2025 year with not only one of the top rosters in the Southwest, but one of the top rosters in the country. The starting staff has a chance to be a special one, led by top-40 player in the 2025 class in Texas signee Brett Crossland. Rounding out the staff is Oklahoma State signee Zane Burns, Arizona State signee Ryan Caruso and SDSU commit Preston Burg. The talent doesn’t stop there as they also have two of the top position players in Arizona in Jaiden LoRe and Cooper CLouser as well as returning junior outfielder Parker Williams. Top-100 talent in the 2027 class Conor Rae also transferred in from Hamilton where he spent his freshman campaign. This roster now has five division-one commitments, the most in the state, as they are the early favorites to win a state title for the first time since 2009.

27. North Broward Prep (Coconut Creek, Fla.)

2024 Record:
28-3
Head Coach: Brian Campbell

Notable Prospect(s): 1B Josiah Haslem, SS Kiernan O’Neill (UCF), RHP John Rodriguez, OF Adolfo Camacho, RHP Jack Rostock, RHP Logan Bristol, 2B Alexander Smith, SS Gabriel Coupet

North Broward Prep has been a mainstay in the top-50 the last few years as they rattled off state championships in three of the last four seasons with their stellar senior group from a year ago. While they’re going to have to replace quite a few pieces, they still bring back one of the most talented rosters in Florida in 2025. Leading that group is a trio of seniors in Josiah Haslem, Kiernan O’Neill, and John Rodriguez. They also return juniors Adolfo Camacho and Jack Rostock to the roster. The sophomore group that they have has a chance to be another special one with Logan Bristol and Alexander Smith headlining that group, both being ranked inside the top-150 nationally. They also welcome top-100 prospect in the 2028 class Gabriel Coupet onto the roster this year. They put together one of the more historic runs in recent memory over the past four years and look to continue that run in 2025 with another state title.

28. Brophy College Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.)

2024 Record:
24-7
Head Coach: Josh Garcia

Notable Prospect(s): RHP Jack Lafflam (Arizona), RHP Benton Hickman (Arizona), C Jonah Castle, SS Dreson Ethier, C Charlie Borchard

The Broncos bounced back in a big way a year ago, putting together a 24-7 season just a year removed from being 13-16. It’s easy to think that this season may just be better than a year ago with the amount of talent that they return to the roster. Leading the charge is one of the better one-two punches in the state in a pair of Arizona signees in Jack Lafflam and Benton Hickman. Lafflam is one of the top right-handers in the entire class and Hickman has been into the low-90s in recent outings. On the offensive side of things, it’s a young group led by sophomore shortstop Dreson Ethier and sophomore catcher Charlie Borchard. They also have junior backstop Jonah Castle coming back as well. There’s plenty of reasons to be excited about this team coming into 2025, especially with the electric stuff on the mound that they’ll be able to roll out any given game.

29. Blessed Trinity (Roswell, Ga.)

2024 Record:
28-11
Head Coach: Jamie Wagner

Notable Prospect(s): SS Terrance Bowen (Oklahoma State), 3B Aiden Zagryn (Gulf Coast State), Carson Zagryn (Gulf Coast State), Kade Kisz (Georgia Southern), OF Wesley Bass (Georgia State), RHP Cameron Novak, RHP Joseph Contreras, SS Ryder Register, LHP Brayden Loquasto, OF Caden Dawson, 3B Aiden Pack, OF Andrew Coachran

Blessed Trinity turns out as much talent as anyone in the state of Georgia and 2025 looks like it has a chance to be a special one even for one of the perineal powerhouses in the state. The offense they roll out will have some special bats including Oklahoma State signee Terrance Bowen and top-3 talent in the 2027 class in Caden Dawson who’s coming off a monstrous season in his freshman campaign. Aiden and Carson Zagryn return along with Kade Kisz and Wesley Bass, giving them more than enough firepower to put up big run totals. It’s a little younger of a group on the mound but there’s more than enough talent there to throw up zeros. Junior right-hander Joseph Contreras and senior right-hander Cameron Novak will throw big innings as well as sophomore Aiden Pack bringing some high-octane stuff as well. It’s yet another talented roster in Roswell that’s looking to string together another strong campaign in 2025.

30. St. John Vianney (Kirkwood, Mo.)

2024 Record:
18-20-1
Head Coach: David Stewart

Notable Prospect(s): RHP Jadyn Furgason (Texas), RHP JD Dohrmann (Missouri), 1B Ryker Benz, 3B Trey Jozwiakowski (Central Missouri), OF Cole Adair (Missouri Southern State), RHP Nick Steurer (Truman State), 1B Nolan Jaworowski (Cincinnati), OF Logan Baumann, LHP Zach Van Hook (Missouri)

St. John Vianney is coming off a tough season a year ago but also bring back one of the most talented rosters throughout the Midwest. They have two of the top arms in Missouri leading their staff in Texas signee Jadyn Furgason and Missouri signee JD Dohrmann with a host of other upperclass arms more than able to contribute, including Nick Steurer and Zach Van Hook. It’s also a veteran led lineup in seniors Ryker Benz, Trey Jozwiakowski, Cole Adair, Nolan Jaworowski along with junior Logan Baumann, giving them one of the better lineups in the state to go along with the high-level arms they have. It’s a well-rounded group that is coming into the year looking for revenge from a season ago. It’s quite easy to see why this group has a ton of buzz around it with high level-arms littering the staff to a veteran offense, Vianney has a chance to put up their best year in recent memory in 2025.

MVPitcher: Duncan McLeod The uncommitted junior toed the slab in three of the four games for Team Mick, tossing 3 2/3 innings.  Zero walks, zero hits and 6 punchouts for the lefty who was used both as a starter in the series clinching game 4 and he closed out game 3 on Friday in quick fashion.  McLeod was very efficient as well, needing just 42 pitches over all his outings.  In the game 4 start, over two innings he punched out 3, with one strikeout with all of his offerings.  The mid 80’s fastball regularly played up, set up with efficient use of the secondaries, with the breaking ball 73/74 and fading change-up 72-74.   Owen Bone (2026) at it again... Solo shot in the 5th to tie things up. Back to back days with a home run for Bone. #PGHS pic.twitter.com/2JC9qETI5h — Perfect Game California (@California_PG) December 13, 2025 MV Hitter: ...

The college players in the 2028 draft class have yet to step on campus, but they're positioned to make an immediate impact. Several high end talents either turned down significant money last year or honored strong college commitments, resulting in their arrival on campus this fall. The class is currently led by a trio of high-upside arms in Jack Bauer, Angel Cervantes, and Cameron Appenzeller. They are followed by a deep group of bats that rounds out a strong, high end Top-10. 2025 Year in Review: JUCO

Looking Back at the 2025 Top 10  Matt Barr (‘25 Niagara, ‘26 Minnesota Twins) Bursting onto the scene last winter, footage of an indoor bullpen rocketed Barr onto the radar of many. Explosive fastball reaches near triple digits with incredible spin numbers across the secondaries. Huge numbers at Niagara earned him the title of the first Juco player drafted in 2025. JC Vanek (‘25 Chipola, ‘26 Kansas City Royals) Just a professional hitter. Vanek for two years at Chipola was an impossible out. While there are questions if the power will ever reach what it takes to play first base at the big league level, the bat and quality defensive skillset at first base may carry. Donovan Becerra (‘25 New Mexico, ‘26 Texas Tech) One of the more high octane arms anywhere in the country last year. Can reach back for upper 90’s and has shown serious swing and...

2025 Year in Review: Draft

2025 Year in Review: Draft We’ve reached the end of the 2025 calendar year, and while we’ve already jumped in on the 2026 cycle with some of the fall events and post-draft content we’ve had here at Perfect Game, there’s still one more piece on the docket, and that’s the 2025 Year-In-Review piece here from the PG Draft staff.  The 2025 MLB Draft took place in July, when many highly talented players heard their names called and continued their journey through the game to the next level. There’s already been some of those names making noise in the minors and guys who are moving up prospect lists and becoming names to know for MLB fans digging deep into the future of their organizations. While we are going to “close the book” on 2025 with this article, these players still have many years ahead of them, and many blank pages to continue...

Lucien Saint Cyr, INF, Class of 2026 Commitment: Bucknell Saint Cyr announced his pledge to Bucknell, giving the Bison an interesting blend of present tools and projection. Saint Cyr stands 6-foot-1 and offers room to fill in his medium frame, profiling in the middle infield defensively. The New York product starts wide at the base in the right-handed box, keeping his hands high behind the ear. He works into a subtle outward step load, firing through a compact barrel that showcases bat speed and gap-to-gap impact. For head coach Scott Heather and Bucknell, they land a high-quality Northeast infielder in the ’26 cycle, adding to a class that takes the quality over quantity approach. 13u Tourney All-American Team

What a year it was in 2025 on the national landscape at the 13u level as Perfect Game continues to expand its reach around the country, providing an even bigger schedule of events coast-to-coast which has allowed players all over show out and gain their deserved recognition. Whether in Texas for the Houston 1000 or the 13u WWBA in West Palm Beach, we saw huge, eye opening performances from the players placed below, knowing that we could EASILY build a third team and likely a fourth without much effort.  As we do every year with this exercise, it's worth pointing out the trickiness of this age group and putting the teams together with the 13u group. While the players are all members of the Class of 2030, some are younger for the grade, which allowed them to play at the 12u level where's it's a smaller field, shorter mound distance and different bats, so we'll separate them out and...

Player of the Year: Asher Williams It was an incredible year for Williams that was rewarded with a trip to the 14U Select Fest, before some more impressive play in the fall. He came to the plate almost 250 times in PG tournaments throughout 2025 and reached base in well over half of them, hitting to a .500 AVG while slugging a 14U circuit best 12 bombs and driving in 113 runs. The numbers on the surface are ridiculous, but when you look at the high-level events he put them up in, it makes it even more impressive. Pitcher of the Year: Tristan Blalock Blalock earns this honor after a dominant 2025 where he struck out 85 batters in just 48.2 innings of work with a minuscule 1.58 ERA. This included several strong performances at many national level tournaments and showcases where he was able to bully some of the best hitters in the country. It’s hard not to fall in love with...

PG Draft: Gut Feel Guys

Tyler Henninger
Article Image
While we are nearing the turn of the calendar to the 2026 year, that means we are just inching closer to the beginning of the season for many high school players and college baseball is on the horizon. We are prepping for a reshuffle of the 2026 MLB Draft Board as well here amongst the PG Draft staff. But before we get to that, we sat down and have each picked a couple of players who are in the mix to get selected in a couple of different buckets.  We have prospects who could go into the Top 30 picks or so, prospects who could be selected in the Top 5 rounds, and prospects who could go inside of the Top 10 rounds. With the draft quite far down the road and a lot of re-shuffling to be done as these players play themselves into certain spots on the draft board, our scouts picked some players who fit into these “buckets” who are gut-feel guys. These are the guys that our PG...

Hitter of the Year: Landon Bonner The 2028 class saw many players from across the country take the next step in their development as they entered the High School ranks. There were huge performances from highly ranked players on the PG circuit as well as some under-the-radar guys who burst onto the scene. Landon Bonner came into Sophomore National as a Top 500 ranked player and after an impressive showing, left with all eyes on him as a rankings riser in the class. The left-handed hitting shortstop from The Colony, Texas, had a summer to remember with All-Tournament Team selections in three of his next four events culminating with a historic performance at the 2025 PG 15U WWBA National Championship. The Hebron High School prep went 20-for-24 in nine games for 5 Star Mafia 15U Black with four homeruns and 12 runs batted in. He also scored 17 runs and finished with a mind-boggling 2.500...

16u Tourney All-American Team

Hitter of the Year: Koa Romero is the Hitter of the Year for the 16u group, as he would come to every premier event of the summer and earn All-Tournament honors (Beast of the East, 16/17u WWBA, Jupiter) in every single one. Over 82 plate appearances, Romero would pump ten homeruns with forty two RBI and sixteen walks, good for a .378 average and 1.339 OPS. The performance on volume at the best events of the year pushed Romero over the edge here, as he’d hit a pair of homeruns in Jupiter (one of them at 112 EV) as an underclassmen and collect double digit hits in BOTH WWBA events with a combined six jacks over the two tournaments. It was a summer that combined performance and winning on the biggest stages for Romero. It’s a quiet left-handed swing that packs a punch. He would reap the benefits of his performances, earning a commitment to LSU and jumping to the #74 prospect in...
