Ryker Benz is a 2025 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from St Louis, MO who attends St. John Vianney. Recorded a 7.07 second sixty yard dash time. Thick and physical frame with an athletic build. Primary first baseman, quick feet with good footwork and a feel for the glove. Soft hands with clean feeds with a strong arm and good carry on the throws. Secondary third baseman with active feet and a good prep step and works through it well. Covers ground well and the glove works with a shorter release from the ear and a good arm across. Also threw an inning on the mound. Full wind-up delivery from the middle of the rubber. Hands go chest-belt-chest with a leg lift up to the midsection. Breaks into a shorter arm path and releases from a low three-quarter arm slot. Athletic movements down the slope with an out and around stride. Easy arm speed. The fastball (2081 RPM) was up to 86 and was 81-86 throughout. Also mixed in a mid-70s slider (2006 RPM) that was well-tunneled with some late depth. Also mixed in a change-up (1409 RPM) that was well-replicated that killed spin successfully. Sequenced well and kept hitters guessing. The right-handed hitter starts with slightly open feet with a wider and spread base and high hands and a high back elbow, utilizes a simple hover trigger. Some coil into launch with a deep load and has a ton of bat speed through contact. Good impact working pull-side in the air and with line drives. Consistent contact to both gaps. Added a barrel back up the middle during game action. Exciting player with a high ceiling. Excellent student. Oklahoma commit. Named to the 2024 National Indoor Showcase (Sunday) Top Prospect List.
