Perfect Game Iowa City Scouting Showcase

It was a great weekend to kick off the Fall 2026 tournament campaign in Iowa City. The fields were packed with college coaches from across the Midwest, providing a great opportunity for players to showcase their talents. Both hitters and pitchers put on quite a show, and there were plenty of standout performances to take note of. We are excited to continue following these players and see what the rest of the fall has in store!
Gillian Hansen (2028 New Brighton, MN) of the 18u MN Force Impact Standering was an absolute force to be reckoned with at the plate this weekend. Hansen possesses a strong, athletic build that translates into impressive power. Standing parallel to the plate, she utilizes her lower half effectively and does an excellent job of staying through the ball and extending through the zone. Hansen led the tournament with an impressive six homeruns and 16 RBIs, showcasing her ability to impact the game with her bat. A powerful 2028 prospect, Hansen has the offensive tools to fit well into any collegiate lineup.
Peyten Spiegel (2028 Ankeny, IA) of Iowa Aries 18u National, coming off a strong high school summer, continued right where she left off this weekend. Spiegel does a great job of locating her fastball, which sits in the 63–63 mph range, while effectively mixing in her rise ball, changeup, and curveball to keep hitters off balance. Her rise ball and curveball are her go-to pitches and consistently generate swings and misses. Spiegel finished the weekend with 12 strikeouts while allowing just one earned run over eight innings pitched. This 2028 pitcher has already generated plenty of buzz, and I’m excited to continue following her development and see where she ultimately lands at the next level.
Aj Woehrle (2027 Osseo, MN) of the 18u MN Force Impact Dailey was another impressive offensive performer out of the Force Impact family. The left-handed power hitter starts in a parallel stance before utilizing a slight rock back to create momentum and a subtle jab step to transfer power through contact. Woehrle consistently delivered in key situation collecting seven hits, including three doubles and two homeruns. Her combination of bat speed, power, and ability to produce extra base hits makes her an intriguing offensive prospect at the next level. Still uncommitted, she has clearly established herself as a hitter to watch.
Rylie Corcoran (2028 Long Lake, MN), a utility player from the 18u MN Force Impact Standering, also stood out at the plate. Corcoran starts slightly open before using a quick jab step to create momentum and really get into her legs. She generates a strong launch angle through the zone, allowing her to drive the ball with authority into the gaps and deep into the outfield. Corcoran finished with a tournament high nine hits, including three doubles and a home run, while driving in six RBIs. Her ability to consistently produce extra-base hits made her one of the more impactful offensive performers of the tournament.
Ella Wheatly (2028 Runnells, IA) of the Iowa Aries 18u National was a standout performer this weekend. Wheatly shows a very calm and composed presence in the batter’s box, appearing comfortable and under control throughout her at bats. She generates power through a strong body shift, with a subtle pick up and put down of her front foot that creates momentum and helps her drive through contact. Wheatly racked up four hits, including an impressive three home runs, while driving in nine RBIs. As a 2028, Wheatly has plenty of room to continue developing, and I’m excited to see her continue to grow and really come into her game this year.
Karter Price (2027 Altoona, IA) of the Iowa Aries 18u National put her power on full display this weekend. Starting from a slightly closed stance, Price uses a controlled rock back to create momentum and generate power through the pitch. She stays aggressive through contact and showed an ability to consistently drive the ball with authority. Price racked up seven hits, including a double and three home runs, while driving in eight RBIs. Her combination of power and production made her one of the weekend’s most impactful offensive performers.
Kaylee Janes (2027 Carlisle, IA), a utility player from Alliance Select 18U Howard, was another impressive offensive performer this weekend. Janes starts from a parallel stance and does a good job of getting into her legs to generate power. She has quick hands through the zone and consistently stays on the ball, allowing her to drive the ball with authority. Janes finished with seven hits, including three doubles and two home runs, while driving in seven RBIs. Her offensive production, combined with her versatility as a utility player, gives her the skills and ability to play at the next level.
Ruby Stagg (2028 Bettendorf, IA) of NE Gold 319-Jones was another impressive hitter this weekend. At the plate, Stagg starts from a parallel stance and uses a subtle, quick transfer of power with very little unnecessary movement. She finished the weekend with five hits, including two doubles and a home run, while driving in seven RBIs. Stagg’s combination of offensive production, defensive ability, and strong on-field presence makes her an intriguing 2028 to continue watching.
Brinley Schroeder (2028 Eldridge, IA) was everything you could ask for from a leadoff hitter for the NE Gold 319 Jones team this weekend. Schroeder consistently found ways to get on base, collecting seven hits, including a double and a homerun, while also drawing three walks. She safely reached base in an impressive 12 of 13 place appearances, resulting in a remarkable .923 on base percentage. Schroeder showed excellent consistency at the top of the line up and set the table extremely well for the hitters behind her. Her ability to get on base at such a high rate makes her a valuable offensive weapon and an intriguing 2028 prospect.
Addie Pearson (2027 Albia, IA) of Alliance Select 18U Dicks was an extremely impressive pitcher this weekend. What immediately caught my eye was Pearson’s changeup and her confidence in throwing it in any count. She did an excellent job of keeping hitters off balance by pairing the changeup with a fastball that consistently sat in the lower 60s. Pearson worked a diverse five pitch mix, which included her fastball, change up, rise, drop and curve to keep hitters guessing. Her willingness to trust her changeup in all situations, combined with her ability to effectively mix her pitches, makes her a pitcher to keep an eye on at the 2027 level.

Sydney Jarvis (2027 Fort Madison) a cleanup hitter for the Black Dragons 18u finished her weekend with six hits, including three homeruns.
Harper Lincoln (2029 Polk City, IA) of the Iowa Dynamite 18U put her power on full display this weekend finishing with seven hits including three doubles, a homerun and knocking in 5 runs.
Allie Burth (2027, Roseville, MN) of MN Force Impact Dailey was another powerful presence in the lineup. Burth finished her weekend with seven hits, including three doubles and a home run, while also drawing four walks. Her ability to work the count, recognize pitches, and consistently find ways to get on base made her a difficult out throughout the weekend. She showed strong power potential and the ability to impact the game from the middle of the order.
