High School Top 50: 41-50

41. Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, N.C.)

2024 Record:
23-10
Head Coach: Eddie Hull

Notable Prospect(s): 3B Matt McKnight (North Carolina), RHP Alex Hoffman (Virginia Tech), RHP Quinn ORourke, OF Jonathan Fijalkowski, OF John Hucko

Charlotte Catholic rattled off 20+ wins a year ago and they bring back some of the top talent in the state in 2025. They have a pair of junior arms that have as good of stuff as anyone in RHP Alex Hoffman and RHP Quinn ORourke. Both have high octane stuff with nasty breaking balls and look primed and ready to put up big numbers on the mound. North Carolina signee and senior corner infielder Matt McKnight will almost certainly throw up monster numbers this spring after a strong year a season ago. They have an extremely talented outfield as well in sophomore John Hucko and senior Jonathan Fijalkowski. It’s one of the more talented rosters in North Carolina coming into 2025 and with the two arms they have leading the charge, it was impossible to keep them outside of the top-50 to start the year.

42. Fayetteville (Fayetteville, Ark.)

2024 Record:
26-7
Head Coach: Scott Gallagher

Notable Prospect(s): SS Landon Schaefer (Arkansas), OF Jaison Delamar (Arkansas), RHP Mark Brissey (Arkansas), OF Charlie Graves, C Landon Holzhauer

Fayetteville put together a strong season a year ago, finishing up with a 26-7 record but they didn’t accomplish the ultimate goal of winning a state title. Coming into 2025, that’s exactly what they have their eyes set on and they have to be the preseason favorites to do just that. They’re led by a trio of Arkansas commits who all bring something a little different to the table in SS Landon Schaefer, OF Jaison Delamar and RHP Mark Brissey. Delamar has shown plenty of intrigue as a two-way player, Schaefer is one of the top ranked players in the country, and Brissey has some high-octane stuff on the mound, more than capable of putting up big numbers this spring. They also have a pair of other highly ranked seniors in Charlie Graves and Landon Holzhauer that are looking to have a big spring as well. It’s a fun roster with star power and they have as good of a chance as anyone at winning a state title in 2025.

43. Edwardsville (Edwardsville, Ill.)

2024 Record: 32-9
Head Coach: Tim Funkhouser

Notable Prospect(s): OF Joseph Chiarodo (Alabama), OF Danny Story, SS Lucas Krebs (Illinois), RHP Tyler Powell, RHP Anthony Eberlin (TCU), RHP Chase Milburn

Winning at Edwardsville has become the norm but it’s been a few seasons since they went back-to-back in 2022 and 2023. They have the roster to win another one this year as well with a host of arms set to lead the charge. They have a trio of upperclass arms that all bring great stuff to the staff. Senior right-hander Tyler Powell looks set to lead the staff along with Another Eberlin and Chase Milburn rounding things out. They also have four seniors on the offensive side that are highly ranked, headlined by Joseph Chiarodo who signed with Alabama a few months ago. It’s a senior led group that has been through the gauntlet and they’re looking to get their hands back on that trophy in 2025.

44. Faith Lutheran (Las Vegas, Nev.)

2024 Record: 24-9-1
Head Coach: David Anderson

Notable Prospect(s): SS Rookie Shepard (Miami), SS Macen Collura (Arizona State), 3B Kingston Kela (TCU), OF Ace Hansen (Wofford), OF Nathan Keyes (BYU), RHP Jordan Watkins (Air Force), OF Joseph Legat, RHP Keegan Burke, RHP Cash Martin, C Cooper Offermann

Faith Lutheran once again comes into the year with significant amounts of buzz around it as they return some of their most important pieces from a season ago. Headlining the group is a top-5 player in the 2026 class in Rookie Shepard. They have a host of other impactful juniors in Macen Collura and Kingston Kela along with three seniors ranked at 500 in Ace Hansen, Nathan Keyes, and Jordan Watkins. Sophomore right-handers Keegan Burke and Cash Martin both bring exciting stuff to the staff along with freshman catcher Cooper Offermann looking to make an impact in his first spring in high school. There’s a lot of buzz around this Faith Lutheran roster and for good reason as they bring back some of the most talented players in the country in 2025.

45. Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, Calif.)

2024 Record: 23-10
Head Coach: Gary Remiker

Notable Prospect(s): OF Benjamin Trey Gudoy (UCLA), SS Alex Harrington (Stanford), OF Hunter Harrington (Stanford), LHP Owen Smyth, LHP Jose Partida, 1B Maxwell Stewart, SS Kaden Kuhn

Cathedral Catholic was one of the higher ranked programs in the country a year ago and return a large portion of their firepower for 2025. The offense on paper looks set up for a strong year as they’ll be led by senior outfielder and UCLA signee Benjamin Trey Gudoy. They also have two of the top ranked players in the 2026 class in Alex and Hunter Harrington, both coming off impressive showings on the circuit in 2024. They also bring back another junior in Kaden Kuhn as well as sophomore first baseman Maxwell Stewart. Senior left-hander Owen Smyth will get a chunk of the innings along with uber-talented sophomore left-hander Jose Partida in line to get a good chunk as well. It’s a well-rounded roster that is looking to replicate a strong season a year ago.

46. Thompson (Alabaster, Ala.)

2024 Record: 29-12
Head Coach: Frankie Perez

Notable Prospect(s): RHP Ma'Kale Holden (Alabama), RHP Ian Hillary (Alabama State), RHP Wyatt Williams (Alabama), MIF Ashton Blair

Thompson came a few wins shy of a state title a year ago and bring back a loaded pitching staff that will look to carry them to a state title. Headlining the group is senior right-hander and Alabama signee Ma’Kale Holden, who can run the fastball into the upper-90s. A pair of other seniors in Alabama State signee Ian Hillary and Alabama signee Wyatt Williams round out the staff, giving them one of the more impressive rotations in the state. On the offensive side, they’ll rely heavily on senior middle infielder Ashton Blair, who’s coming off a strong campaign a year ago in their deep run through the playoffs. It’s an impressive staff on the mound that they’ll rely on heavily to try to capture their first state championship in school history.

47. Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, Calif.)

2024 Record: 27-5-1
Head Coach: Jared Halpert

Notable Prospect(s): OF James Tronstein (Stanford), SS Cade Goldstein (UCSB), 3B Jack Laffitte (Michigan), OF Ira Rootman, RHP Evan Alexander (Penn), OF Ethan Price, C Drew Rico, RHP James Venick

Harvard-Westlake, one of the perineal powerhouses on the west coast, lost a chunk of their production on both sides of things from a year ago but as they usually do, return some interesting pieces that should make for a fun year in Studio City. Offensively, they have a pair of seniors leading the charge in UCSB signee Cade Goldstein and Michigan signee Jack Laffitte. They also bring back one of the top ranked players in the country in the 2026 class in James Tronstein as well as sophomore outfielder Ira Rootman. On the mound it will be a young group that will look to throw up quality innings for some of their first times in one of the most grueling high school schedules in the country. It will be an offensively led group that will look to throw up big run totals throughout the year.

48. Center Grove (Greenwood, Ind.)

2024 Record: 27-3
Head Coach: Keith Hatfield

Notable Prospect(s): OF Drake McClurg (Indiana), SS Gannon Grant (Tennessee), 1B Kobe Cherry, RHP Kellen Thomson (Ball State)

Center Grove comes into the 2025 season with some buzz around it after a strong season a year ago, something that has become common in Greenwood. They’ll have a two-headed monster of underclassmen in the lineup in sophomore Drake McClurg and junior Gannon Grant, both being committed to P4 programs. Kobe Cherry is another sophomore that provides some power in the heart of the lineup and will be looking to have a big spring. Ball State signee Kellen Thomson looks set to lead the staff along with providing some impactful AB’s on the offensive side. It’s an intriguing group with a host of highly ranked offensive weapons that is looking to win a state title in 2025.

49. Marist (Atlanta, Ga.)

2024 Record: 29-7
Head Coach: Mark Holmes

Notable Prospect(s): OF Martin Shelar (Mississippi State), 3B Jack Richerson, RHP Jamie Vicens (Georgia Tech), OF John Loudon (Navy), OF Noah Gerrick (Wofford), SS Jack Euart (Wofford), 1B Xavier Byams, 3B Roshan Bullard, SS Sean Walsh

Marist comes into the year with some significant steam as their junior heavy roster from a year ago comes into their senior year with their eyes set on a state championship title. They have one of the top ranked right-handers in the state leading their staff in Georgia Tech signee Jamie Vicens along with a host of other veteran arms along the staff. It’s a deep group offensively with power up and down the lineup. John Loudon, Noah Gerrick, Jack Euart, and Xavier Byams are the seniors that headline the offense along with Martin Shelar, Jack Richerson, Roshan Bullard, and Sean Walsh being the impact juniors offensively. We’re high on Marist to start the year as they look to be in a good spot to capture their first state championship since 2021.

50. Stony Brook (Stony Brook, N.Y.)

2024 Record: 19-7
Head Coach: Jonathan Brewer

Notable Prospect(s): OF Jordan Serrano (Wake Forest), S Aiden Ruiz (Vanderbilt), SS Larry Hotaling (Villanova), RHP Nick Parker, RHP Leo Vitarelli (Winthrop), OF Aaron Artsen, RHP Christopher Nell (Legigh), C Julian Martinez, C Colin Raymond

Stony Brook is coming off their first state championship in program history a season ago and bring back a large chunk of production from last year’s roster. Jordan Serrano will be one of the main catalysts for the offense in 2025 along with fellow senior middle infielder Larry Hotaling. They also have a top-100 player in the 2026 class in Aiden Ruiz who’s coming off monstrous performances throughout 2024. It’s a senior led group on the mound in Nick Parker, Leo Vitarelli and Christopher Nell who bring good stuff and leadership to the roster. They also welcomed some impact freshman to the roster in two of the top ranked catchers in the 2028 class in Julian Martinez and Colin Raymond. It’s a well-rounded group with quality depth that is looking to go back-to-back in 2025.

The Mid-Atlantic Region lost its only Perfect Game All-American when catcher Andrew Costello left his Pennsylvania high school early and enrolled at Wake Forest for the spring semester.  The Region ends up being dominated by underclassmen, with seven juniors and even a pair of talented sophomores getting recognition. The story of the spring could very well be watching the young power arms in the Region come outdoors and show their talents on the mound.  Pennsylvania juniors Cole Kuhn and Trent Lutz have been getting lots of off-season attention along with New Jersey senior Alex Weingartner. New Jersey has a trio of high schools represented in the Perfect Game Pre-Season Top 50 High School Rankings.  Delbarton HS, behind a very strong junior class, leads the group at 29th overall, followed DePaul Catholic HS at 41st and Gloucester Catholic at 46th. COASTAL REGION (NC, SC, VA, WV)  The first thing that stands out about the players on the Coastal Region team is that this is undoubtedly the fastest All-Region Team in the country.  There are four or five players who could legitimately have 80 grades on their running speed from the region and all have other tools to back up their speed. Another thing that jumps out is the quality of the juniors on the team.  While the region features only one 2025 PG All-American in left-handed pitcher Carson Bolemon, there are six juniors on the All-Region team who are ranked in the top 34 in the 2027 class, with plenty more talented underclassmen just behind them.  Three region high schools break into the Top 50 in the Perfect Game Pre-Season High School Rankings.  Charlotte Catholic at 33rd overall and Metrolina Christian Academy at 42nd represent the North Carolina schools...

SOUTHWEST REGION (AZ, NM, NV, UT, CO)  The most dominant tool in the Southwest Region for the 2026 season is undoubtedly power at the plate, as most players featured below not only have the size and bat speed to drive the ball but have put up the numbers as well.  While that isn’t exactly surprising given that virtually the entire region plays at elevation, it certainly stands out on the individual top prospects. The Region features four Perfect Game All-Americans in OF Ryan Harwood, IF Rookie Shepard and C Alain Gomez-Gudino and RHP Dylan Blomker.  The 2027 class is looking very promising as well, with four juniors gaining mention on the All-Region team below and Arizona in particular having a very talented class.  Keep an eye out especially for 2027 3B Colton Floyd (Corona Del Sol HS, Ariz.), one of the best and biggest power hitters in that class. DII Top 25: February 11

Preseason rankings are less about certainty and more about expectation. Experience, continuity, and proven production tend to win in Division II baseball, but every spring reminds us how thin the margins can be. The teams below enter 2026 carrying varying combinations of momentum, pressure, and opportunity. Some are defending a standard. Others are chasing it.  At this level, projection is rarely about raw talent alone. It is shaped by familiarity, by the players who have been through a season together, by staffs that know how to manage the quiet stretches as well as the loud ones. Injuries, turnover, and postseason moments leave marks that don’t always show up in the numbers, but they shape how teams respond when games tighten.  The programs at the top of these rankings carry more than returning statistics. They carry memory and momentum. They remember what it felt like...
