Pitching Highlights

8/4/2019

James Hays (2023 3B, Hawkinsville, GA) uses a projectable frame and loose arm action to produce a fastball up to 83 mph. His arm speed projects as well as he sits on his back leg properly and drives to the plate.

Luke Dotson (2023 LHP, Lake City, FL) is a wiry lefthander with projectable stuff as well. His fastball, up to 82, jumps out of his hand with plenty of balance and deception to his delivery. He also shows an advanced feel to spin the baseball.

Dylan Cupp (2023 SS, Cedartown, GA) is a primary shortstop with a feel to pitch as well with a fastball, changeup combination. His arm is loose and quick as he repeats and works down the mound online.

Gabriel Flores (2022 OF, Longview, TX) has a fast arm that is loose and works. Flores has a fastball that sinks to the plate and can maintain arm speed with all three of his solid offerings.

Cooper Milford (2023 OF, Cumming, GA) has a quick delivery and a full arm action. He uses all three of his pitches well and stays in the lower third of the zone with his command.

Brennan Greer (2023 3B, San Antonio, TX) sits in the 77-82 mph with his fastball and uses a loose arm action to do so. He gets online with his delivery using his lower half to drive down the mound with a breaking ball that flashes potential as well.

Andy Hernandez (2023 OF, Hialeah, FL) sat 83-84 in a quick look on the mound. Hernandez creates deception on the mound releasing from an extended three-quarters arm slot with plenty of looseness to his arm stroke.

Chris Knier (2023 OF, Jensen Beach, FL) sits in the low-80s with his fastball and an 11-to-5 curveball. He stays online with his lower half and can get to both sides of the plate with both of his offerings. His arm action is loose and easy releasing from a high three-quarters arm slot.

Cade Kurland (2023 SS, Tampa, FL) showcased his high 3/4 arm slot and full arm action. He has smooth, fluid, repeatable mechanics and uses his entire body well. His FB was up to 83 MPH with lots of life. He filled the zone with strikes and mixed in his 72 mph CB and 74 mph CH well.

Colton Wombles (2023 C, Salem, AL) is a primary catcher but looked very comfortable on the mound today. His 80 mph FB has great armside run and he kept it low in the zone. He also flashed a 12/6 CB that had late break. He is a very athletic player.

Dillon DeSpain (2023 RHP, Hawthorne, CA) showcased his projectable frame as he stood tall on the mound. His 81 mph FB came from over the top with a full arm action. He has easy mechanics and uses his lower half well.

Ethan Robinson (2023 RHP, Antioch, TN) has a mature presence on the mound with his FB that sat 87-88 mph with lots of life and armside run. He gets great extension on his FB and mixes in a 65 mph CB that has late bite and will get lots of swing and misses. He creates great downhill plane with his long, loose arm and is an all around athlete.

Damian Jose Ortiz (2022 OF, Guayama, PR) stands tall on the mound and looks very athletic. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with short arm action. He creates good downhill plane with some armside run. His delivery is very deceptive as he hides the ball well. His FB topped out at 83 mph but he also flashed a 76 mph sweeping SL.

Miles Preston Ghossein (2024 SS, West Hills, CA) has a whippy arm action with a high 3/4 arm slot. He kept his 82 mph FB down in the zone and had good life to it. He has a very projectable frame.

Ryan Sprock (2022 3B, Morristown, NJ) sat 85-87 mph with his heavy FB. He has a strong lower that he uses well to create power. He threw an advanced CH for strikes that will be his best out pitch.

Bobby Fleming (2022 OF, Great Falls, VA) showcased his deceptive delivery with a 85 mph FB that has good armside run. It also had some life to it as he kept it low in the zone. His CH had good sink and is deceiving from his FB. His 72 mph CB was sharp with tight break at 11/5.

Chris Arroyo (2022 OF, Coral Springs, FL) is a big lefty with long arms and strong lower half. He throws from a high 3/4 slot and uses his legs well. His FB sat 80-83 mph and was heavy. He kept his CH in the bottom of the zone and was deceiving from his FB.

Ryan Rusk (2023 3B, Kingwood, TX) mpressed showing off four well developed pitches. The Texas native spotted his 4-seam and 2-seam fastball to both sides of the plate, following his fastballs up with a 12/6 curveball and a changeup with solid arm side run.

Jackson McKenzie (2023 1B, Pace, FL) LHP from Pace, FL, sat 82-84 pounding the zone throughout his outing. The Mississippi State commit showed off his hard-biting curveball and a well-developed changeup. Jackson was consistent in painting the corners with each of his four pitches.

Cale Comeaux (2023 3B, Breaux Bridge, LA) offset his solid fastball with two well-developed off-speed pitches. The Louisiana native sat 78-79 with his fastball, mixing it up with a nasty changeup and a tight 11/5 curveball.

Vincent Velez (2022 1B, Norwalk, CT) stood tall on the mound with his 6-1 frame. Velez had an extremely consistent delivery, pounding the zone with a firm fastball, accented by a curveball and a splitter that had heavy arm side run and sink.

14u National BP Highlights

8/3/2019

Nicolas Senese (2022 SS, Senoia, GA) has a smooth swing plane from the right side with natural loft as he gets out and drives the ball out in front. He stays on plane nicely working to the middle of the field and has one of the more consistent approaches we saw on the round.

Ethan Robinson (2023 RHP, Antioch, TN) has whippy hands in the box and the hand speed allows him to turn the barrel over and work to the pull side. There's projectable strength there with some crudeness but the bat speed and physical projection are both enticing.

Damian Jose Ortiz (2022 OF, Guayama, PR) has very good bat speed with an element of controlled violence to the operation. The strength comes from his upper half as he rotates his torso and generates very loud contact to the pull side.

Enmanuel Tejeda Sanchez (2023 SS, Santo Domingo, SD) gets on plane very quickly and the barrel stays smooth through the hitting zone. The trigger to start is very easy with loose hands and the swing path absolutely projects given his size and athleticism.

Trenton Lape (2023 3B, Bossier City, LA) shows a whippy barrel head through the stroke with some raw bat speed and he swings the stuck hard. Lape can work to the pull side with projectable strength and though the approach is raw there's offensive upside here.

Christopher Diaz (2023 OF, Miami, FL) has a simple stroke from both sides with a whippy barrel head and keeps the swing compact while driving through the finish. The lower half has a quick trigger and he really drives the ball through contact.

Edian Espinal (2022 SS, Viera, FL) loads very heavily on the backside and explodes through his shift to put charges into balls. He has very fast hands and wore out the pull side of the field with well-struck line drives during the round.

Jake Kulikowski (2023 1B, Trinity, FL) is a big, physical lefthanded hitter with excellent torque and drive through his hips. He uncoils well and on time with well-struck fly balls to the pull side and middle fo the field.

Nigel Robinson (2023 OF, High Point, NC) has a quick stroke with very fast hands and impressive raw bat speed. He turns the barrel over well and the raw offensive tools are certainly enticing.

Ryan Cainzos (2022 OF, Miami, FL) took a very professional round, driving line drives to every corner of the field with intent. The hands are fast with a very compact stroke and makes it look easy with a low effort, simple trigger.

Bryant Zayas (2023 SS, Hialeah, FL) showed good physicality and athleticism in the box with premier bat speed and super fast hands. He gets the barrel out in front nicely with some rawness to the approach but the tools themselves from an offensive perspective are very loud.

Nic Frink (2022 C, Scarborough, ME) swings the bat hard and the physical righthanded hitter creates some violence through contact. He whips the barrel hard with good bat speed and creates excellent jump off the barrel.

Sam Silas (2023 SS, Deatsville, AL) has a simple stroke while getting the barrel head out and showing fluidity throughout the swing. He keeps the swing compact and easy with consistency and comfort to the pull side on a line.

Ethan Sutton (2023 3B, Acworth, GA) has a big stride into contact and really generates some leverage and strength to the pull side. He lifts the ball nicely and separates well to generate excellent backspin on pull side fly balls.

Rob Duvall (2023 C, Lawrenceville, GA) showed fast hands with a hard stride into contact and can really turn on a ball over the inside. The strength to the pull side is notable as he can take advantage of pitches over the inner half well.

Jackson McKenzie (2023 1B, Pace, FL) has excellent hands through contact and generates really loud and effective impact to the pull side. The bat speed and loft both project for notable power as he hit some majestic shots to right field.

Drew Burress (2023 OF, Perry, GA) has a short, quick stroke from the right side with a very repeatable swing and the ability to consistently square the ball on a line. There's simplicity with very quick hands and bat speed that's going to allow him to generate line drives to all parts of the field.

Riley Jackson (2023 C, Melbourne, FL) is an uber-physical righthanded hitter with excellent extension and strength at the point of impact. The barrel plane is smooth with natural loft and he drives the ball off his backside to create big power to the pull side alley.

Carlos Elian Martinez (2022 OF, Coamo, PR) has a very smooth lefthanded stroke with good balance and a low effort trigger. He turns the barrel over nicely to create carry to the pull side and the ball jumps off the bat.
