Caleb Ougel is a 2022 C/RHP/3B with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Galliano, LA who attends Vandebilt Catholic. He ran a 7.23 second sixty. A primary catcher with a medium stocky build. Behind he plate he gains ground well into his throws as he transfers the ball high on the chest with a quick release and good carry on his throws recording a 1.97 second pop time. On the mound he takes a small side step intone. quick pivot, the arm works on a medium track through the back with some projectable arm speed up to a three-quarters arm slot, he was able to get the fastball to both halves of the plate in the 80-84 mph range and was consistently in the zone when the upper and lower halves were synced up, he mixed in a changeup in the low 70's and a curveball with 11-5 shape that showed some bite through the zone, he does a nice job of going after hitters early in counts. On the infield he took a clean round showing good athleticism in his movements fielding the ball out front with soft hands and funneling cleanly to his midline, he was also able to make accurate throws from multiple arm angles. Right-handed hitter, starts with an open stance, uses a toe tap trigger, he showed some intent in his swing with his best contact to right-center field with strength in the hands. Excellent student.
