It’s hard to imagine a team with more buzz around it in the country than the defending National Champion Corona Panthers. This is one of the more star-studded rosters in the country that features four of the top-25 players in the 2025 class, including three inside the top-10 and another two top-50 players in the 2026 class. It’s a deep staff on the mound with high octane stuff led by Seth Hernandez and Ethin Bingaman. Billy Carlson has also shown upper-90s stuff while playing the highest-level SS you’ll find in the class. Hernandez and Bingaman are two of the more intriguing two-way talents in the 2025 class and they round out the offensive side with LSU signee Brady Ebel, LSU commit Anthony Murphy, and Texas A&M commit Trey Ebel. It’s quite a ridiculous roster that they’ve assembled in Southern California and are easily the favorites to repeat as National Champs.  

2. IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)

IMG went through some bumps a season ago after being our preseason #1 team but it’s impossible to not have them as one of the top teams in the country each year with the amount of talent they have year in and year out. The 2025 edition of the Ascenders features three of the top-50 position players in the 2025 class in Sean Gamble, Dean Moss, and Kelvyn Paulino Jr. They also have Nathan Eisfelder Joshua Campbell, and Peyton Miller, who are all ranked inside the top-250. On the mound they’ll have two of the top arms in the country in Parker Jennings and Chase Bentley along with a host of other arms. All in all, they have 21 players ranked inside the top-500 in the next four grad classes as they continue to reload every year with the top talent in the country.  

3. Huntington Beach (Huntington Beach, Calif.)

Huntington Beach was one of the younger teams in Southern California a season ago and they still rattled off 24 wins in a gauntlet of a schedule. Well, a lot of their major contributors are back from last year’s team and enter the 2025 season with as much buzz as anyone. Leading the senior group will be PG All-American Trent Grindlinger and top-100 talent, Oregon State signee Ethan Porter. Another one of the top middle infielders in the class Cole Clark also returns for his senior year with a big spring ahead. It’s a pretty ridiculous underclass group that they have as well with Cole “CJ” Weinstein being a well-rounded bat and a top-25 player in the 2026 class as well as Jared Grindlinger, the #2 player in 2027, coming into his sophomore season. There’s plenty of top-end talent all over the roster and nobody would be shocked if they’re challenging for the National Championship at the end of the year.  

4. Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville, Fla.)

2024 Record: 24-7 
Head Coach: Jonathan Murphy  

Notable Prospect(s): RHP Aaron Watson (Virginia), OF Aiden Arnett (Virginia Tech), RHP Merrick Beamish (Dyersburg State), OF Brady Harris (Florida), SS Jordan Martinez (LSU), SS Parker Loew (LSU), RHP Ethan Wheeler (Florida), LHP Tyler Ellis (Florida), C Gage Petrutz (Alabama), RHP Christopher Reali, C Brennan Bachtell 

Trinity Christian Academy is a school that exploded up our rankings a year ago and return a huge chunk of their production. It’s a ridiculous junior class that continues to get better and better each time out but don’t sleep on the seniors as they also have some of the top players in Florida in that group. Aaron Watson is a top-100 arm in the class and Aiden Arnett is extremely tooled up and ranked inside the top-175 in the 2025 class. They also bring back senior right-hander and Dyersburg State commit Merrick Beamish, giving them a strong group of senior arms. Getting to that junior class that’s so prolific, it’s led by four of the top-100 players in the country in Brady Harris, Jordan Martinez, Parker Loew, and Ethan Wheeler. They also have two-way star Tyler Ellis and Alabama commit Gage Petrutz in that group as well. It’s as deep and talented of a roster as you’ll find in the country and they’re in excellent position to capture a state title in 2025.  

5. Tomball (Tomball, Tx.) 

2024 Record: 41-3 
Head Coach: Doug Rush  

Notable Prospect(s): 3B Brycen Romberg, 3B CJ Sampson (Florida), SS Harper Gates (Texas A&M), C Catcher Hopkins (Texas A&M), RHP Karson Reeder (Texas), RHP Jackson Morrow 

Tomball put together a historic campaign a season ago, including winning 31 straight games in route to a state championship. They lost some impactful players from a season ago, including Cade Arrambide who had a monster senior season a year ago. Even losing so many seniors from last year’s group, they also return four of the top juniors in the country in CJ Sampson, Harper Gates, Catcher Hopkins, and Karson Reeder. All four are committed to SEC powerhouse programs. The talent doesn’t stop there on this roster as they also bring back senior third baseman Brycen Romberg and another junior right-hander Jackson Morrow. It’s to be seen if they can fully replace all the production from a special season a year ago but they’re the early favorites to repeat as state champs again in 2025.  

6. Tampa Jesuit (Tampa, Fla.) 

2024 Record: 26-6 
Head Coach: Miguel Menendez  

Notable Prospect(s): C Vincent Decarlo (NC State), RHP Brady Hoar, RHP Christopher Hemmings, RHP Nicholas Deakin (University of Chicago), RHP Reed Biemiller (FGCU), LHP Ryan Thompson (FGCU), RHP Wilson Anderen (Mississippi State), RHP Kaden Waechter (Florida State), OF Cannon Murtagh (Duke), 2B Christian Sheffield, RHP Hector Rivera, RHP Samir Mohammed 

Jesuit is coming off a 2024 season that saw them finish the year with thirteen straight wins, ending in their third state championship since 2019. This pitching staff has a chance to be extremely special as they have nine pitchers ranked at 500 or better in the next three graduating classes. Headlining that group is a pair of juniors in Wilson Andersen and Kaden Waechter, both already committed to P4 programs and both already showing electric stuff. They have return five senior arms as well in Brady Hoar, Christopher Hemmings, Nicholas Deakin, Reed Biemiller, and Ryan Thompson. They also have sophomore Samir Mohammed on the staff who’s been into the mid-90s already. Offensively, they have intriguing weapons in senior Vincent DeCarlo, Cannon Murtagh, and Christian Sheffield. It’s one of the better pitching staffs on paper in recent memory from top-to-bottom as they look to repeat as state champs in 2025.  

7. Etowah (Woodstock, Ga.) 

2024 Record: 34-5 
Head Coach: Greg Robinson 

Notable Prospect(s): LHP Jackson Rose (North Carolina), OF Deion Cole (Georgia Tech), RHP Matthew Sharman (Georgia), OF Trevor Condon (Tennessee), OF Townsend Downing, C Carson Moore, C Caden Borcherding, 3B Colin Anderson 

2024 was a special season for the Etowah Eagles as they won their first state championship since 2017. They bring back some of the bigger pieces from a season ago as they look to go back-to-back. Top left-hander in the state for 2025 and North Carolina signee Jackson Rose headlines the starting staff and junior Georgia commit Matthew Sharman also returns to throw huge innings. They also have the strongest junior group in the state with Sharman, Deion Cole, and Trevor Condon are all ranked inside the top-15 in the state for 2026. Caden Borcherding also returns after a solid freshman campaign and will be relied upon heavily behind the dish. They also welcome one of the best players in the country in 2028 in Colin Anderson. They’re our top ranked team in the state coming into the year and have all the talent to make it back-to-back titles in Woodstock.  

8. Marjory Stoneman Douglas (Parkland, Fla.) 

2024 Record: 26-5 
Head Coach: Todd Fitz-Gerald 

Notable Prospect(s): OF Bennett Gary (Miami), 1B Nick Diaz (College of Charleston), C Andrew Freeman (Louisville), LHP Luke Cherry (North Florida), RHP Chase Wildroudt, SS Erick Torres (Eastern Kentucky), LHP Gio Rojas (Miami), OF Lorenzo Laurel (Florida), C Jake Rizzo (Dayton), 2B Cade Raley, SS Abraham Halaoui 

Marjory Stoneman Douglas, one of the top programs in the entire country, made history last year by winning their fourth straight state championship. They lost some impactful players from last year’s team just like every other team on this list but they are set up as well as anyone to continue their historic run in 2025. The senior position player class is headlined by Miami signee Bennett Gary and College of Charleston signee Nick Diaz along with catcher Andrew Freeman and shortstop Erick Torres. They have three arms ranked at 500 or better in the country in left-hander Luke Cherry, right-hander Chase Wildroudt, and junior left-hander and Miami commit Gio Rojas. Rojas, one of the top left-handers in the country, is coming off of a great season a year ago and they also have Lorenzo Laurel coming back to provide some serious thump in the heart of the order. It’s another loaded roster in Parkland as they look to make it five straight titles this year.  

9. Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati, Ohio) 

2024 Record: 29-3 
Head Coach: Tim Held  

Notable Prospect(s): RHP Zion Theophilus (LSU), OF Luke Pappano, SS Carter Christenson (Ohio State), OF Jovan Love, RHP Joey Watts, C Griffin Booth (La Salle), RHP Connor Fuhrer, SS Matt Ponatoski, 3B Conner Cuozzo, OF Noah Goettke, C Donovan Glosser 

Archbishop Moeller was well on their way to making it back-to-back state titles in 2024 before being upset in the state quarterfinals. They bring back one of the more talented rosters in the entire country, led by a pair of highly ranked seniors in Zion Theophilus and Luke Pappano. There are seven seniors on this roster ranked at 500 or better in the country including Theophilus and Pappano, giving them one of the deeper senior groups in the nation. They also bring back two of the higher ranked juniors in the country in Matt Ponatoski and Conner Cuozzo as well as two of the top sophomores in the country in Noah Goettke and Donovan Glosser. They’re gunning to make it two of the last three state titles heading to campus and with the amount of talent all over this roster, they seem to be in great position to do so.  

10. Puyallup (Puyallup, Wash.) 

2024 Record: 25-6 
Head Coach: Marc Wiese 

Notable Prospect(s): SS Mason Pike (Oregon State), SS Gage Thompson (Oregon State), OF Riley Sanoy, RHP Max Schweyen (Washington), OF Noah Benedict, SS Brayden Landry, C Keagan Soliza, C Madden Pike  

Puyallup is another familiar face in the top-10, a spot that they’ve been pretty commonly in previous years. They bring back an athletic and talented roster in 2025 as they shoot for their first state title since 2017. It’s one of the deeper rosters in the Pacific Northwest, headlined by PG All-American and one of the top two-way talents in the country in Oregon State signee Mason Pike. They also return fellow Oregon State signee and senior middle infielder Gage Thompson as well as senior outfielder Riley Sanoy along with a host of other talented underclass names. Junior right-hander Max Schweyen will get some big innings and junior outfielder Noah Benedict is another talented bat in this lineup that’s shooting for a monster 2025 season. Sophomore Brayden Landry and Keagan Soliza are two of the more talented sophomores in the country and they also welcome freshman Madden Pike to the squad where he looks to make an impact in his first year in the high school ranks. Puyallup is once again one of the more talented rosters on paper heading into the year and they’re looking to capture that illusive title in 2025.

More than 30 teams from the 14U-18U age divisions will head to Fort Myers, Florida this Fourth of July weekend for the seventh annual Perfect Game Freedom Classic. The tournament, running July 3-6, features several nationally ranked prospects from across the country as teams look to compete for a championship. Headlining the field are twin brothers Derek and Ryan Yormark of Merrick, New York. Right-handed pitcher Derek Yormack is the No. 51-ranked player in the class of 2027, the No. 1 player in New York and the No. 5-ranked right-handed pitcher in the country. Asher Contreras (2030 | Las Vegas, NV) The 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitter and outfielder was one of the most dangerous hitters in the tournament for Wow Factor Nv 2030, stuffing the stat sheet while displaying an impressive combination of power and speed. He finished the weekend with 9 hits, including two doubles and a home run, while driving in seven runs and scoring five more. He also swiped three bases and worked three walks, consistently putting pressure on opposing defenses while showing feel for the zone with just one strikeout all weekend. Championship teams often reveal themselves when the game isn’t going their way. Performance Baseball 2028/Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team did exactly that. Trailing Florida Burn 2028 Scout through four innings, the Brewers refused to panic. Instead, they relied on timely hitting, consistent pitching, and an unselfish approach at the plate, rallying a five-run fifth inning before pulling away for a 9-5 victory to clinch their spot in the semifinals. The comeback was fueled by contributions throughout the lineup. Six different players drove in runs, including two RBIs each from Aiden Capobianco and Cameron Massey, while Matthew Heredia, Parker Weston, Ethan Smith, and Aj Bonnette each added an RBI of their own. JK Select Hawaii capped off an impressive tournament run by defeating GBG Vegas 14u Red14-4 in the championship game on Sunday at Goodyear Ballpark, claiming the 14u West World Series title. From the opening pitch, JK Select controlled the pace of the game. The offense jumped out early, scoring 6 runs in the 1st inning after timely hits from MVP Sean Shindo and Kade Manarpaac. The early lead gave the pitching staff confidence as they worked efficiently through the opposing lineup. “I've worked hard to get better at my game for the past few months; it means a lot that I did well and performed in a tournament like this” said Shindo. On the second day of the 2026 Perfect Game National Elite Championship, one swing turned heads across the ballpark. The next one brought everyone to a stop. With Wow Factor Nation 16U trailing midway through its matchup against Sandlot Scout Team 2028, Micheal O'Connor launched a solo home run to spark the offense. Just one batter later, Aaron Frink stepped into the box and sent another ball over the fence, delivering back-to-back home runs that quickly became one of the most talked about moments of the tournament’s opening days. Following a jam-packed week of entertainment at the 17u WWBA Championships, the top nationally ranked program, USA Prime 17u National/Detroit Tigers Scout Team, faced off against Stacked Baseball 17u (No. 80 nationally) in the highly anticipated championship matchup as both teams looked to earn one of the most prestigious titles in all of travel baseball. Each talented squad entered the finale undefeated, but Stacked Baseball continued their dominance throughout the tournament, defeating the Detroit Tigers Scout Team 10-2 in mercy rule fashion to become national champions behind explosive bats and impressive pitching. 17u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4  Day 5 | Day 6 Shea Corona (2027, Brooklyn, N.Y.) showcased some loud stuff out of the bullpen for MLB Breakthrough Series 2027. The New York native and primary shortstop topped out at 93 with the fastball, sitting comfortable in the 90-92 range. Corona paired it with a sharp and tight slider at 81-83, staying on the same plane until late. The pitch plays well already and the delivery is very athletic. The win showcased the balance that has made Texas Twelve Maroon a powerful team. Strong pitching, timely hitting, and steady defense all played a role as the team held off one of the tournament’s premier programs.
