Jupiter Staff Champ Prediction

WWBA World Championship Pool Preview & Release

Bragging rights are on the line here at Perfect Game as the staff takes a shot at predicting who they think will be the one hoisting the cup at the end of the event.

USA Prime National/Detroit Tigers Scout Team

The Tigers Scout Team brings an outstanding roster to Jupiter on both sides of the ball. The lineup has high profile names from top to bottom, including Deuce Jenkins and Graham Keen. On the mound, the staff is anchored by LSU commit Samir Mohammed, with a large group of quality options to fill the remaining innings.

-Ryan Miller

Franklin Scout Team/BTD- 2027

I chose Franklin Scout Team/BTD- 2027 to go all the way because of the elite talent and depth that this team possesses. With 29 Top-500 players, multiple PG All-Americans, and 17 arms that have reached 90+ mph, they have the firepower on both sides of the ball to get the job done.

-Brandon Levy

CBA Marucci

My dad used to tell me to always let it ride when on a winning streak, and I’ve picked them to win it all in Jupiter the past two years, and they’ve won, so we’re gonna let it ride on CBA once again in 2026.  CBA takes a deep stable of arms with them to Florida, with a mix of both righties and lefties to mix and match if need be.  Codey Brown is a rock behind the dish on both sides of the ball and will handle the staff well.  CBA will be taking 15 committed players to Florida, with some talented uncommitted guys in Chase Fillman and Jackson Leigh from Arizona, and So Cal righty Noah Frias possibly looking to come home with some offers after showing well away from home.

-Steve Fiorindo

Wow Factor/Blue Jays Scout Team

This year’s Wow Factor group looks primed to make a deep run in bracket play, led by a group of All-Americans in Sebastian Wilson, Max Hemenway, Colton Floyd, and Blake Lundy. The squad also boasts some of the deepest overall talent in the tournament, with 21 Division I commits on the roster. One key area to watch will be the pitching staff, which has plenty of firepower and high-level stuff to make Wow Factor a legitimate contender throughout the tournament.

-Jake Willis

East Coast Sox

The East Coast Sox org has long brought down one of the best rosters in Jupiter and once again do so in 2026 with their 2027 Franchise team. They will be led by a pair of PG All-Americans in Stephen Bobo and Koa Romero along with a host of other P4 commitments and impactful young names in the 2028 and 2029 classes as well. They’ve been strong throughout the summer and bring together talent from every age group and I think they’ll get it done this year in Jupiter.

-Cam McElwaney

HP '27 San Francisco Giants Scout Team

The HP '27 San Francisco Giants Scout Team comes into the tournament fresh off a big South Jupiter Qualifier Championship victory and has shown no signs of slowing down. We are talking about a unit that has gelled together for years with players all from the great state of Texas. They know how to win and should have no problem continuing that sort of success out here. The team is littered with high end division one commits all of whom have performed at an extremely high level. This team is my pick to win it all and if there is ever a team from Texas to do so it's this one.

-Geoff Billock

East Cobb/Padres ST

East Cobb fell just 1 run short of a title a year ago, losing to back-to-back champion CBA, and I think that near success, paired with what this year’s roster looks like on paper, will lead them to hoisting the trophy this year. While this weekend will be a totally different beast, some of this group played in the Fall World Series a couple weeks and they were good there. The roster is deep, and even if all the guys listed don’t end up coming, they have plenty enough firepower to make a run at this thing.

-Tyler Russo

TB SoCal

TB SoCal indeed appears to be a formidable contender in Jupiter, thanks largely to their impressive depth at pitching. With standout arms like TCU commits Cooper George and Cooper Stevenson, they have a pair of front-end starters that can go deep into games. The presence of five committed arms provides a strong backbone for their rotation, while the addition of promising uncommitted pitchers gives them flexibility and depth as the tournament progresses. On the offensive side, TB SoCal has assembled a versatile lineup that can produce runs. With players like Chase Mattoon, (Stanford), Mitch Circuit (Santa Clara), and John Sullivan (UCLA), they boast a mix of power, speed and defensive versality.  Depth is a crucial factor in winning this tournament and TB SoCal has an abundance of it in all facets.

-Scott Rankin

Stacked Baseball/Kansas City Royals Scout Team

After the summer that Stacked put together, they seem like the easy pick. They have experience dominating national events, including winning the 17u WWBA. They can score runs at a high rate and have the pitching to go deep into the week.

-Tyler Henninger

Canes National 18U/New York Mets Scout Team

The pick here is the Canes National 18U/New York Mets Scout Team. 2027’s Finnian O’Laughlin, Trip Ostergard, KJ Anderson, Elyjah Mason, Braylon Sheffield, and JJ Utash are all high end talent and have faced a ton of premier arms and come in battle tested. Soren Etheridge, Matthew Hernandez, and Jake Ivey, one of the top lefties in the class, bring big game experience and huge draft implications on the ’27 side in terms of arms, leading into huge pitching depth throughout the roster. The 2028s guys will play a pivotal roll at some point as Grant Arnold will be asked to catch and use that big power from the left side. The pitching side of the 2028 class is even more important and its high-end winners with premium stuff. Look for Chase Cotton, Cooper Janke, Parker Klug and Gavin Whitley to make a statement at the most prestigious amateur event of the year.

-Jered Goodwin

Jason Kidd Select

Jason Kidd Select has the talent and experience to make a serious run at the PG WWBA title. Led by a staff with a proven track record in travel ball, they bring impact players on both sides of the ball. Joe Mendazona Jr. is one of the tournament’s top catching talents, while Jace Harrell, Brayden Goldstein, Braylon Hubbard, Shane D’Arcy and others give the lineup plenty of length and depth. Their pitching staff is just as impressive, featuring Power 4 commits like Tanner Conley, Roy Kim, AJ LaSota and highly ranked junior arms who could help carry them all the way to the championship.

-Steve Doherty

Ghost National

With a bevy of experienced Northeast arms to-go along with a multitude of exciting position players, look for Ghost National to follow up their final four run last year in Jupiter with another deep playoff run. The lineup will be fueled by the like of Ricky Lopez, Alex Odud and Gil Ardizzone. The key will be getting quality outings and some length from the likes of Virginia Tech commit Michael Fekete, Richmond commit Mark Risi and Duke commit Hunter West so they can preserve some of their firepower for a playoff run.

-John McAdams

Ohio Warhawks

As I look at this Ohio Warhawks roster I’m a big fan of the depth especially on the pitching side with several arms I’m personally high on along with plenty of quality offensive firepower. It’s not a staff loaded with household names, but there’s a lot of talent to work with. Cooper Benjamin, Ryan Brown, Jake Busse (Oklahoma), Leo Alvardo (Clemson), Gabe Fink (USC) , Bryce Kellum, Kayden Lambsom (BYU), Matthew Navarez (NMSU), Mason McGill (West Virginia) and Ian Wickland (Hawaii) are all arms capable of running it up to 90+ and give the Warhawks quality options from both sides that should be able to neutralize bats and provide plenty of depth as the tournament wears on. Position-player wise, they’re headlined by PG All-American Gavin Williams (Oregon), who has the kind of power that can change a game with one swing, but there’s plenty of talent around him. A pair of T50 ’28s in Alec Cabrera and Jacob Groeschel bring plenty of upside in their own right, while I’m also partial to several of the West Region prospects I’ve seen a good amount of, including Carson Richter (Michigan), Tyler Vladic (Oregon), Dezi Delgado (CSUN) and Austin Rodriguez. There’s enough depth, power and pitching versatility here to make the Warhawks a tough matchup from start to finish, and I think that balance ultimately gives them the pieces to make a run.

-Joey Cohen

SBA Bolts National

Pitching is always at a premium in Jupiter, and SBA Bolts National has plenty of it. Pair that with some high-upside options out of the 2028 class, headlined by Adriel Cartagena, and there is plenty to suggest that they have the quality and quantity to survive the war of attrition.

-Jay Vossler

Florida Burn 2027 Scout

The lineup can flat out bang. Centered around Graham Houston (LSU) and RJ Shields (Miss St.), around them there does not appear to be a weak spot. Burn also has plenty of guys who will produce on both sides like Florida commits August Backman and Braedon Mackay. This Burn team will get hot this week, and they can flip a game against any team here.

-Brock Goodwin

FTB Phillies

This roster headlined by Perfect Game All-Americans Kinon Bastian and Christian Gomez has more than enough firepower to bring home the hardware this week in Jupiter. Their games will be amongst the most heavily attended by college coaches and pro brass from pool play on. Watch for the impact of underclassmen talents, Aiden Kearney and Caleb Polk to play a big factor in the club’s chase of a WWBA World Championship title.

-Troy Sutherland

Dirtbags National 2027

Looking back a year ago, the 2026 class made it to the quarterfinals. While this is not the same group- the 2027s had a deep quarterfinal run of their own back at the WWBA over the summer. And that must have a lasting impression with this group heading into Jupiter. The depth and pedigree are there. And they have a stable of arms that is needed for a deep run. Their culture has established a proven track record in our national events and a history with deep runs. Not saying I am the most superstitious guy out there, but I am a little-stitious. It’s the 10-year anniversary of when the Dirtbags won it all back in 2016. Not saying but just saying!

-Jordan Gates

Team Elite/Arizona Diamondbacks Scout Team

Experience is a key element to making a deep run and though a bulk of the players may not have a bevy of Jupiter experience, the Team Elite coaching staff certainly does. Looking up and down the roster, the club is led by a pair of PG All-Americans in shortstop Banks Addison and right-hander Liam Dougherty but that only is the start of the talent as outfielders Cason Borchardt and Max Phillips and left-hander Owen Burnes added invaluable depth to a roster that already boasts 15 Division 1 commits. There are impact bats and plenty of primary arms to eat innings, giving Team Elite a chance to play well beyond pool play.

-Jheremy Brown

Orioles Scout Team 2027

Whatever it is you're looking for, odds are you'll find it on the Orioles Scout Team roster. Perfect Game All-American Mac Morris is set to lead the charge on offense and he'll have plenty of help from the likes of John Hucko, Rylan Beaumel and his younger brother, 2028 grad Emerson Morris. With 15 primary arms, the Orioles boast the depth needed to withstand the challenges in Jupiter and possess arms with both big stuff and plenty of strikes.

-Donovan May

Canes Midwest 18u National

There's talent in Pool O for the Canes Midwest to overcome through pool play, but they have the right game changes pieces on both sides of the ball to do a little bit more than just win the pool. The combination of PG All-American Jacsen Tucker and Griffin Boesen at the top of the order will be a potent duo while '28 grads like Kam Gillespie and Connor York (both ranked in the top 150) should be valuable pieces. Another All-American in Cole Cheatham has some of the biggest stuff in the country and could shut down any lineup in Jupiter, though the other pieces on the mound are equally impressive.

-Brayden Powell

MLB Breakthrough Series

The come in with both youth and experience with one of the more dynamic lineups in the event. The 2027 class has Bryson Bourn, Jonah Boyd, Lorenzo Davis, Jeter Farina, Aiden Salinas, and Zowen Watson. That is a unique group with mixes of both speed and power. To add to it, the 2028 class has Johan Boyd, Isaiah Cador, Gabriel Coupet, Kobe Reese, and Dylan Lee. Then the 2029’s have Paris Head and Terrell Hampton-Hall. That’s a ridiculous amount of talent. There are also 2-way talents in ’27 Devyn Downs and ’28 Brandon Williams that can will be relied on to get leverage outs.

-Greg Sabers

South Charlotte Panthers

The South Charlotte Panthers come in with an unbelievably deep roster. With 19 arms listed, they will have plenty of fresh arms if they make a run in bracket play. They have a good blend of power righties and projection lefties to go to whenever needed, potentially led by intriguing ’28’s Duncan Carver and Andrew Mundy. ’27’s Luke Samples and Oliver Van Tiem have been in plenty of big spots over the years. The offense should be able to put up runs in a hurry. Briggs Lessmeister, Wyatt Lytle, Kellen Rogers, Britton Wise, and Kees Yashko are all very talented and can grind at bats and offer plenty of ways to impact the game.

-Quinton Hall

CBU 2027 Scout Team

CBU Scout Team has a really complete roster and is largely retained from their 17u WWBA team that made the final four in Georgia. 17u WWBA co-MVP Sammy Echeverry is back and leads a very strong position group along with other top 100 ranked players like Moises Gudino and Lucas Farrar. Twelve primary pitchers lead an experienced staff and if this team gets out of pool play then CBU looks like they could go on a run like they did in June.

-Vinnie Cervino

Scorpions 2027 Scout

The Scorps have long been a premier org in the state of Florida and this roster looks primed for making a deep run in the playoffs. This roster made the final 16 at 17u WWBA over the summer and return good pieces on the team. Jace Moran and William Haggerty are two top 200 ranked prospects and keep an eye on Gabe Gonzalez, who could be a big riser following a strong summer.

-Josh Olivo

Chicago White Sox Scout Team

The Chicago White Sox Scout Team has a really talented roster, this Indiana Bulls team made it to the final 16 of the 17u WWBA. Players like Noah Goettke, Cooper Collins, and Grady Grant are as experienced as a core comes and have loads of winning traits. Making it out of pool play is always a challenge but this team has the ingredients to go on a deep run.

Midwest Fall Championship    ‘29 LHP Jake Bzdusek (IL) Works 5.1 very strong innings from a low arm angle. Has a FB with sink in the mid 70s and T78. Has a nice E/W SL 67-68 (2nd,4th video). Struck out 7 and was efficient in the zone w/ 62% strikes. #WWBAMW @AthletesHQ2 https://t.co/th4O6pgHBs — Perfect Game Illinois (@PG_Illinois) October 3, 2026 Jake Bzdusek (2029, Huntley, Ill.) a left-handed pitcher works from a very low arm angle creating lots of deception to throw off hitters. The fastball was in the mid 70s, topping 78mph with good action. His slider had lots of east/west action, creating tons of swing and miss. Bzdusek pitched 5.1 innings while striking out seven, helping him earn the win. He threw efficiently, landing 62% of his pitches for strikes. He also got it done on the offensive side of the ball this weekend as well. He racked up six hits in as many...

Wolforth Throwing Mentorship: Article 67

Rethinking Baseball Warm-Ups: A Call for Innovation  Let’s kick the old warm-up tradition to the curb, shall we? Baseball has a reputation for being a sport rooted deeply in its customs, and while some traditions are worthy of preservation, one that needs a refreshing overhaul is the standard warm-up routine. Picture this: an hour before the game, players jog a lap, gather to stretch in a circle, and then stand around playing catch. Does that really prepare anyone adequately for the mental and physical demands of pitching? In my view, it falls woefully short, and I’ll explain why. The typical warm-up approach - running a lap, static stretching, and simply tossing a ball back and forth - doesn’t even scratch the surface of what’s necessary for optimal performance. This process often leaves pitchers feeling only 75% prepared, and that’s just not good...

Joshua Churchill (‘31 TX) just demolishes this ball to deep right for a 2-run double. Easy low tension juice from smooth well connected lefty swing. #BestOfTheWest @Texas_PG https://t.co/MnT0lIaGRd — Perfect Game Youth (@PGYouthBB) September 27, 2026 Joshua Churchill (2031, Kingwood, Texas) had a real strong showing on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend and helped lead his team to a big championship win. Churchill finished the weekend going 5-10 with a pair of extra base hits and came up clutch in big run scoring moments. It’s a pretty physical frame for the age and showed a smooth lefty swing that works gap to gap well. He can impact the baseball well and power certainly projects in this profile. Off the bump, Churchill hurled 6.1 dominant frames and ran the fastball up to 80 while landing the breaker at will. Strong 2-way ability really showed and Churchill...

PG Draft: Jupiter Preview

Ryan Miller
Article Image
Jupiter has long been one of the best opportunities for draft eligible players to make an impression and this year’s field should be no different. With an elite collection of prospects all competing on the same fields, the event provides a valuable opportunity for players to establish themselves against some of the best competition in the class. This week’s WWBA World Championship could be a pivotal week for several prospects looking to make an impression and elevate their draft stock. Ahead of the event, the draft team each highlighted a sleeper prospect (someone who is currently not ranked in our board) to watch, as well as a current member of our Top-100 who could make a significant move up the rankings. Keep an eye on these names throughout the week as they look to make an impact and force their way up the board on our next update.  Top-100 Risers Jake Ivey...

Derek Graham (‘27. CO) was absolutely DOMINANT. 10 K over 4 hitless innings, 10 K. FB sat 86-89 (T90) with life. SL at 70-73 paired well. The Texas Tech commit showcased an overpowering fastball. The offering worked up to 90 mph with life at the top of the zone. A slider at 70-73 mph paired well off of it. Graham kept hitters guessing throughout, allowing him to quickly get outs and avoid barrels.  Brixton Barraza (2030, Murrieta, Calif.) took home MVP honors after a ridiculous showing at the plate. WWBA Underclass Scout Notes: Days 1-2 | Day 3 Hudson Covington (2028 Aliso Viejo, CA) has had himself a weekend at the dish, hitting an even .500 going into Championship Monday including a perfect 3-3 performance in the 2nd round of playoffs for TB SoCal. In just his 5th PG event, the uncommitted prospect is certainly making a name for himself with plenty of offensive tools to like. From the left side, Covington keeps the path direct and repeatable with a pull side & middle of the field approach displayed. He flashes high contact tool and does a great job of putting something in play with two strikes, limiting the swing/miss in the stroke with evident control of the barrel.
