22- Royal vs. 24- White Game Highlights

7/30/2023

Grayson McCarthy (2027, Jacksonville, FL) was tremendous, taking the ball to start the game for 24- White. The righty sat in the 83-85 range with the heater and threw plenty of strikes. He mixed in a very good two-plane slider as well as a fading change and held the velocity for all three innings.

David Bowman (2027, Milton, GA) picked up a base hit in his first at-bat, lining a ball into right center. The Georgia native handles the barrel well and also topped out at 80 mph on the mound.

William "Cohen" Tyre (2027, Odum, GA) continued to impress, lining a ball pull side for a knock. He hopped on the bump and showcased arm talent as well, topping at 84 mph.

Case Martin (2027, Atlanta, GA) pieced a ball into left field for a hard single. The right-handed bat is very physical with lots of strength at the point of contact. The power plays and Martin is also a talented right-handed pitcher.

Deuce Jenkins (2027, Brandon, MS) had a real good piece of hitting in his final at-bat, taking a pitch on the outer-half the other way for an opposite field double. THe Mississippi native possesses a smooth left-handed stroke and is capable of impacting the ball.

21- Red vs. 23- Vegas Gold Game Highlights

7/30/2023

William Cutshall (2027, Covington, GA) had a huge day on both sides of the ball. With the stick, he picked up a loud double off the left centerfield fence as well a triple to dead center, traveling around 390 feet. Cutshall hopped on the bump and worked an absolutely effortless 86-89 while showing a curveball that projects well.

Asher Wagoner (2027, Fort Wayne, IN) pieced a double the other way for a backside double in his first at-bat. The Indiana native is physical and can impact the ball with strong hands.

Cooper Goff (2027, Herriman, UT) swung the bat very well, picking up a triple in his first at-bat and a double in his final at-bat. Both balls traveled deep to right field and the power upside is significant for Goff.

Taylor Casson (2026, Atlanta, GA) lifted a ball high in the air, clearing the left field fence by plenty for a home run. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound right-handed bat collected three knocks during the game and has some real thump.

Carson (Bear) Calvo (2027, Fullerton, CA) was very good at the plate and on the bump. He produced a couple of loud barrels and picked up a base hit on a liner to left. On the mound, Calvo sat 85-87 with huge sink while mixing in a hook.

Judson Harris (2027, Orange Beach, AL) showed some very intriguing ingredients on the mound, topping at 85. He sold a very good changeup as well, replicating arm speed. Harris can also really swing it with stand out bat speed.

14-Gold vs 16-Gray

7/30/2023

Preston Cole (2027 SS, St. Augustine, FL) shined on both sides of the ball with two hits at the plate and five strikeouts in two scoreless innings on the mound. Cole is a dynamic athlete with twitch in his game to go along with a lean projectable build.

Dyson Grant (2027 C, Mission Viejo, CA) ripped two loud singles in Sunday's contest. Grant has a smooth, well timed weight shift into contact with a no stride trigger. He has strong, violent hands that produce a ton of force behind the ball despite the no stride approach. He is a vocal leader at the catching position with an accurate throwing arm.

Jael “JC” Castillo (2026 1B, Wake Forest, NC) blasted a home run well over the fence in right field. Castillo has super quick rotational traits in the torso and hips with a fast bat that holds its line. There is immense power upside in the swing and body type.

The ball was exploding out of Cole Dunlap (2027 C, Choctaw, OK) hand in his two innings of work. Dunlap consistently hit 87 mph and reached back for 88 mph on a few occasions. There's some deception in the delivery when he turns his back to the hitter. He had no problem filling up the zone with his electric fastball and a wipeout, two plane breaking ball with high spin and late bite.

Joshua Angulo (2027 1B, Corona, CA) barreled two baseballs including one that cleared the right fielders head. Angulo keeps his hands tight with a compact swing and makes consistent hard contact. There is also variability and good bat control present.

Chase Fuller (2027 SS, Tallahassee, FL) punched out three in two innings of work. Fuller is uber athletic with a lightning quick arm that produced fastballs in the 86-88 mph range with late tailing life.

Jacob Fields (2026, Norwalk, CT) hit two of the hardest balls in the game, a homerun to left field and a line drive double that one hopped the center field wall. He also made a diving catch in center field where he got full extension in the outfield.  The highlight of his day for me was a double down the left field line after coming back into the box after getting hit in the knee cap on a pitch. There is no questions about how hard he was playing the game today and he showed a ton of good tools to match.

On the mound, he ran it up to 86 mph with huge carry through the zone. Showed a hellacious breaking ball with spin rates up to 2700 RPMs for strikes and swings-and-misses. It is a high energy, athletic profile with monster upside.

He creates so much space and separation before he whips the barrel through the zone with violent hands. He added another impressive opposite field hit later in the game, showing off the variability in his bat.

Derek Yormack (2027 3B, Merrick, NY) one inning of work was still impressive despite fatigue not having his best stuff. Yormack ran the fastball up to 87 mph with late life in the zone. The pitch still exploded out of his hand even at the lower ends of his velocity range. He is a fluid mover with flexibility and mobility in his lower half. His signature slider showed long sweeping action and missed bats.

Adrian Gomez (2026 LHP, Murfreesboro, TN) looked as if he was just having a nice game of catch on the mound. He was so free and easy with the delivery and arm action with loose arm. The southpaw sat comfortably in the low 80's with sinking life to the fastball. He got a ton of ground balls when he wasn't punching out hitters. Gomez finished with 5 strikeouts in 2.1 innings.

Chase Fuller (2027 SS, Tallahassee, FL) had four quality at bats in route to three hits in the game. Fuller made good swing decisions with center barrel accuracy when he deciding to offer at pitches. He has a keen eye and is patient at the plate. Fuller handled velocity well and showed off his signature bat speed on a hard line drive single to left.

Wyatt Plyler (2027 RHP, Bonney Lake, WA) was 3-4 on the day with a double. He has legit bat to ball skills and patrols the outfield well in center field.

Preston Matricardi (2027 OF, Fernandina Beach, FL) nearly left the yard when he launched a double to deep right field. Matricardi has a feel to hit the ball in the air and knows how to pull the baseball with authority. His swing is loose with a fluid barrel head.

Ryan Yormack (2027 1B, Merrick, NY) opposite field home run was the most impressive hit of the game. Yormack tattooed an outer third fastbal over the fence in right center field. He is a balanced, explosive hitter who controls the body well with violent hands through the zone.

23- Vegas Gold vs. 24- White

7/29/2023

Anaiscio Ortiz (2026, Brooklyn, NY) showed an excellent three-pitch mix from the left side. The lefty ran the heater up to 88, sitting 85-87. Ortiz threw plenty of strikes and flashed a nasty slider. He also showed good feel for a fading changeup. He also collected a couple of knocks.

Nathaniel Fuller (2027, Little Silver, NJ) was very good on both sides of the ball. The New Jersey native drove a double into left centerfield, using a clean left-handed stroke. Fuller also hopped on the mound and ran the fastball up to 83 mph.

Parker Robinson (2027, Chicago, IL) picked up a pair of knocks and showed quality athleticism with length. The right-handed bat has good bat speed and also swiped a bag.

Cooper Goff (2027, Herriman, UT) displayed good bat-to-ball skills, picking up three knocks. He can really handle the barrel and showed an athletic on the mound, topping out at 80 mph.

Harry Chubb Jones Jr. (2027, Powder Springs, GA) ran the fastball up to 88 mph, displaying heavy arm side run. It got on hitters, drawing some whiffs. He mixed in a short and tight slider, working in the upper-70s.

Tavis Honeycutt (2027, Newberry, FL) absolutely barreled a ball into centerfield for a knock. The primary third baseman is ultra physical and the ball comes off the barrel different.

Ricky Lopez (2027, New York, NY) picked up a knock on a hard ground ball up the middle. The New York native also showed agility at shortstop with plenty of arm across the diamond.

15-Green vs 16-Gray

7/29/2023

Lucas Farrar (2027 SS, Tampa, FL) showed off athletic actions on the diamond all game long. He made infield play look easy with soft glove and smooth footwork. Farrar smacked a hard single through the six hole while showing plus bat speed and controlled violence.

Riley Huggins (2027 RHP, Gaston, SC) threw a heavy diet of fastballs at opposing hitters with great success. The pitch sat in the low 80's with huge carry and lift to it. Hitters repeatedly swung under the offering and failed to square it up when contact was made. Huggins racked up plenty of whiffs with five punch outs in just three innings.

Logan Jarer (2027 RHP, Warwick, NY) had feel for his entire repertoire in his three inning appearance for the Green squad. He pounded the zone with lively fastball, diving changeup, and nasty slurve. Jarer changeup stood out as an out pitch and he was fearless in his usage of the pitch to both right and left handed hitters. He missed bats in and out of the zone.

Beckett Denton (2027 RHP, Matthews, NC) reached back for 87 mph in the third inning of his outing. Denton showed off a really quick arm from a simple operation and short arm action. He is a dynamic athlete on the mound with a ton of upside and arm talent.

Koy Frier (2027 SS, Wellborn, FL) was 2-3 with two singles in the game. He has legit barrel variability and accuracy in the swing. Frier sprayed line drives all over the field and adjusted plane to match where the pitch was thrown. The hit tool really stood out.

Tyler Durkin (2026 RHP, Poughkeepsie, NY) worked with good tempo and fired in some crisp fastballs up to 83 mph. He has a desirable pitchers frame with length and wiry strength currently. Durkin flashed a tight, two plane breaking ball that was a weapon when it finished low in the zone.

Jael “JC” Castillo (2026 1B, Wake Forest, NC) split finger fastball was diving off the table throughout the entirety of his outing. He had advanced feel for the devastating offering and used it as a put away pitch when ahead in the count. Castillo's fastball was jumping out of the hand with tailing life at 84 mph.

21- Red vs. 22- Royal Game Highlights

7/29/2023

Tyson Moore (2027, Buffalo, MN) picked up a base hit in his first at-bat, sending a hard grounder right back up the middle. The backstop can handle the barrel, using a simple stroke that creates length.

Cole Ruggeri (2027, Naperville, IL) threw three strong innings, allowing only one hit. The righty has a fast and loose arm with the fastball running up to 86 mph. Ruggeri mixed in a slider and worked from a nice tempo on the mound.

William “Cohen” Tyre (2027, Odum, GA) did not get cheated, blasting a home run that cleared the left field fence by plenty. The ball jumps off the Georgia native’s bat and he possesses a quick bat, swinging with lots of intent.

Matthew Rosner (2027, Bethesda, MD) showed out on both sides of the ball. The primary right-handed pitcher threw three hitless innings on the mound, topping at 80. Rosner also swung the bat well, barreling a pull side double.

Griffin McKain (2027, Fort Mill, SC) showed some electric stuff on the mound. The southpaw lived 82-85, generating angle and missing bats. The curveball showed bite with healthy 1-7 shape. McKain struck out three over two innings pitched.

Austin Neese (2027, Sugar Hill, GA) was excellent on the mound, using a simple operation to absolutely pound the zone with 76% strikes. The righty topped at 84 and showed a swing-and-miss pitch in his changeup, featuring depth.

Taylor Casson (2026, Atlanta, GA) was very good in relief, punching out four over two frames and running it up to 85 mph. He paired the heater with a nice slider and changeup. The Georgia native also possesses considerable power upside with the bat.

Game Highlights: 11-Vegas Gold v 12-White

7/29/2023

Ethan Armbruster (2027, Austin, Tex.) took to the mound and worked up to 87 mph on the fastball early on and held the mid-80s. He showed a slider in the mid-70s with a 10/4 shape. Also showed an upper-60s breaking ball with bigger 12/6 depth to it. Showed the fastball often and missed bats. Threw 2 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3 hits and 5 punchouts.

Ayden McGinnis (2026, Phoenix, Ariz.) came on in relief later in the outing and delivered 3.0 innings, allowing 1 hit with 4 strikeouts to his credit. He worked up to 82 mph from the left side with real good feel for sweeping slider that was up to 2,440 RPMs. Mixed pitches well, showing a changeup with depth, showing all three offerings to keep hitters guessing.

Caden Christianson (2027, Greenwood Village, Colo.) came on and worked the low-80s, holding 82-84 mph for the most part on the fastball. He showed an 11/5 shaped curveball with good depth to it from a lower slot. He commanded well and missed some bats. He threw 3.0 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 4 opposing hitters.

Roy Kim (2027, Temecula, Calif.) came on in relief and pounded the zone, showing a three-pitch mix, varying all three. The fastball was up to 81 mph and well-commanded. The slider was spinning up into the 2,400s and had great 1-7 shape to it. Also flashed the occasional changeup with good depth. Kim threw 2 and 2/3 innings, allowing 4 hits, punching out 4 opposing hitters.

Daggu Rana (2027, McLean, Va.) picked up a couple of hits on Saturday, adding 2 singles to his credit, working pull-side. Rana separates and gets his hands to it with a clean path to it. Helped him grab a couple of hits today.

Carter Hadnot (2027, Rialto, Calif.) swung the bat well, hitting from both sides on Saturday, tallying hits from both sides. Early on, Hadnot was able to drive the ball well pull-side, sending one on a line to right-center for a base hit. The Canes commit showed off the bat speed again later, this time from the right side. He drove it hard in the air pull-side, belting it. Sent it for a double to left field.

Ben Brannen (2026, Eatonton, Ga.) showed off-the-bat speed and some strength at impact on Saturday, picking up a couple of hits for his team. He picked up 2 singles, plating a run as well. A couple of nice swings to find the barrel and drive it.

Angel Acuna (2026, La Mirada, Calif.) picked up a couple of hits on Saturday. He works from a wider base from the left side with quick hands and some bat speed to drive the ball. He did some damage pull-side with quick turns through the zone.

Hudson Riordan (2027, Lake Wylie, S.C.) picked up a nice double on Saturday in the matchup. Riordan used his larger frame well, driving hard through the zone to lift on pull-side deep to right field. Also jumped on the mound and closed things out with a scoreless inning, allowing 1 hit while punching out 3 opposing hitters. He reached back for 82 mph on the fastball and shined on both sides of the ball.

Christopher Vargas (FA, Santo Domingo, D.R.) has a real clean operation in the batters’ box. Quick hands to the ball, loading up and whipping the barrel to the ball. He was able to pick up a big-time double on a ball well-struck to left field for an extra-base hit.
7-Orange vs. 8-Purple

7/29/2023

Nicholas Mondesando (2026 OF, Fishkill, NY) had one of the best 0-3's you'll ever see today and he was visibly frustrated when his third straight barrel up rope to right field was caught.  The 6-2/185 left handed hitter has a very nice stroke with bat speed and loose extension through contact.

Graham Keen (2027 3B, Pittsburgh, PA) is a long and loose 6-4/185 primary 3B whose future is likely on the mound.  He worked in the 87-89 mph range in his two innings of work to go with a big breaking downer curveball.

Matthew Kelley (2027 SS, San Diego, CA) is an outstanding athlete who excels in all areas on the game.  He has smooth actions and defense with plenty of arm strength at shortstop.  He laced a couple of hard base hits and was 81-84 mph off the mound with a workable breaking ball.  The game comes easy to him and he has lots of fun playing.

Julio A. Gonzalez (2027 SS, Hialeah, FL) had a nice day on both sides of the ball.  He barreled up a hard double up the left center field alley and came back with hard single up the middle.  He also turned a sweet double play from second base to show his fast hands and strong arm.

Andrew Turner (2027 SS, Lake Mary, FL) and Beau Bruns (2027 C, Hoschton, GA) both showed their right handed strength and bat speed well, as both picked up a pair of hits this game, including pull side doubles for both.

Andrew Bennett (2027 RHP, Mobile, AL) was absurd in his two innings of work, striking out 5 hitters while working 88-91 mph with a lively riding fastball.  His best pitch, though, was a nasty 2500+ curveball in the 76-79 mph range that was a swing/miss pitch at any level.

Moises Gudino (2027 SS, Tampa, FL) found barrels all game, picking up three hits, including a double, while showing a smooth and accurate left handed swing.  He also hosed a runner at the plate with a perfect throw from left field.

Wilson Shaw (2027 LHP, Port Charlotte, FL) was impressive in his three inning outing, striking out 5 hitters while over matching hitters with a low 70's slider that he commanded very well.  Shaw threw 77% strikes in his outing and was in complete command the entire way.

Tucker Long (2026 SS, Ottumwa, IA) is an extremely uncomfortable at-bat for right handed hitters, not only because he throws 87-90 mph but that he does so from a low 3/4's arm slot with big running action.  His upper 70's slider is no fun to try to hit, either.

5-Maroon vs. 6-Navy

7/29/2023

Landon Green (2027 RHP, Clearwater, FL) was electric during his two innings of work, not throwing a pitch under 91 mph and topping out at 94 mph with big running life when he was on top of the ball.  The secondaries need further refinement but watching the easy low effort velo was exciting.  Green also picked up a couple of barreled up singles to complete his day.

Amaree Griffin (2027 LHP, Loganville, GA) was just as impressive as his teammate Green in many ways, striking out 6 in 3 innings of work while throwing 82 percent strikes.  The loose and athletic 6-3 southpaw worked in the 83-86 mph range with an outstanding change up and obviously filled up the zone.  Like Green, Griffin showed his offensive tools with a couple of barreled up hits, including a double.

Keegan O'Brien (2027, LHP, Punta Gorda, FL) threw 77% strikes during his three innings of work, striking out 4 hitters, all on a very well commanded mid-70's slider that hitters couldn't figure out at all.  He topped out at 81 mph.

Dominic Giametta Iii (2027 OF, Richmond, TX) is a extra big and strong 6-3/215 right handed hitter who was well timed and found barrels all day, picking up a pair of base hits along with hard hit grounder right at the shortstop.

Pablo Jose Martinez (2027 SS, Santo Domingo, SD) was impressive with the glove today, making multiple plays on the move that showed his athleticism and maturity as a defensive player.  He also swung the bat well, especially on a firm back side single.

Reece Solar (2027 SS, Scottsdale, AZ) wasn't the biggest player on the field at 5-7/145 but he had the biggest hit, crushing a ground rule double to left field that really jumped off his bat.

Game Highlights: 9-Red vs. 10-Royal

7/29/2023

Gabriel Norman (2027, Melbourne, Fla.) came out and mixed three pitches well. Fastball worked the low-80s up to 86 mph. Showed a good feel for a changeup with good arm-side fade to it. Threw 2 and 2/3, allowing no hits, walking zero, and striking out 4 opposing hitters. Also picked up a base hit, getting the barrel to one to drive it pull-side.

Trent Buckley (2027, Columbia, Mo.) worked up to 87 mph on the fastball, being able to locate it all over the zone and miss bats up. Showed a curveball with good 11/6 depth that was 12/6 at times, having good bite. He threw 3.0 innings, allowing 1 hit, striking out 4 opposing hitters.

Lash Henderson (2027, Frisco, Tex.) gets the barrel on one and absolutely hammers one backside. Worked the hands to it with good strength off the barrel. Sent it to deep right field, hustling out a double. Got the barrel on a fastball and drove it.

Keegan Burke (2027, Rio Rancho, N.M.) has come out and shown a really good feel for a 2-pitch mix. He threw the fastball into the mid-80s, holding around the 84-85 mph mark with a really good feel for an upper-70s slider with good depth. He threw 3.0 innings,

JT Girod (2027, Independence, Ore.) handled the bat well on Saturday. He was able to work on time for pitches and drive them. He added a single to centerfield on a nice well-struck LD and then also doubled to left field on a ball he kept just fair working down the left field line.

Kane Garcia (2027, Huntington Beach, Calif.) grabbed a couple of hits on Saturday. He was able to drive one pull-side in the air with good feel for the barrel. He worked uphill thru it and sent it for a single to right-center-field. Added another hit later on with a single, and in his third plate appearance, he ripped another one pull-side into right field for his third barrel of the day.

Kaleb Harrison (2026, Brookshire, Tex.) was able to turn in a couple of hits, including a double to left field. He creates some whip to the hands and drives the ball well pull-side. Harrison also jumped on the mound and closed things out. Threw an inning of scoreless ball, working the upper-70s with a feel for a curveball that had good shape to it as well.

Mikey Watson (2027, Steger, Ill.) picked up a double on Saturday, drove the ball to left field, picking up a hard-hit ball, hustling out extra bases. Showed off good bat-to-ball tp drive it pull-side and send it into left field for extra bases.
