GREAT PLAINS REGION (IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, ND, SD)

The Great Plains Region Dream Team features two PG All-Americans in outfielder Tommy Specht and right-hander Austin Henry, but the most notable aspect of the team is that it features nine juniors and a sophomore, making it the youngest of all the All-Region teams.  One school, Elkhorn (Neb.) South, has two middle-of-the-field junior standouts on the team in slugging catcher Eli Small and tooled-up outfielder Cole Eaton.  Liberty (Mo.) gives the region a pair of teams with two representatives in senior right-hander Karson Milbrandt and junior shortstop Addison Smith.

A fun part about the Great Plains Region Dream Team this year is the fact that the state of South Dakota, which rarely finds itself represented here, has two players recognized in Henry and two-way talent Matthew Ossenfort.

While one might think that Elkhorn South or Liberty would have a hand up on being the top team in the region, that honor goes to Blue Valley (Kan.) Southwest, the only region team in the PG Preseason Top 50, checking in at No. 50.
