Royal vs. Navy

Drew Bryan (2020 C, Sanford, NC) showed excellent catch-and-throw skills throughout the event and again on Sunday. Bryan has an aggressive mentality behind the plate and that led to multiple successful back picks as well as throwing runners out on generic throw downs. 

Chandler Williford (2019 RHP, Newton Grove, NC) showed an exciting four-pitch arsenal highlighted by his cut fastball. The pitch had good biting life to it and the fastball in general was up to 85 mph. He has a full arm path with good arm speed and a changeup that flashed good potential. 

Wes Bowlin (2019 1B, Indian Trail, NC) had a strong day at the plate with consistent hard contact. Bowlin collected two singles with a hard hit grounder and hard hit line drive to show off his barrel skills. 

Joseph Quelch (2019 C, Clinton, MD) got the scoring started with a loud double in the first inning. Quelch took advantage of a pitch up in the zone and showed off some raw bat speed to elevate the pitch deep to the pull side gap. 

Jacob Zimmerman (2019 RHP, Southern Pines, NC) showed very good pitching tools during his time on the mound. Zimmerman has a loose and long arm action with a fastball that he was locate to the arm side very well and a three-pitch mix that featured an 11/5 curveball with quality depth. 

Hunter Zents (2020 OF, Wake Forest, NC) showed good tools with a loose swing that resulted in a hard hit single. He made a number of impressive plays in the infield highlighted by his advanced footwork and feel for the position. 

Jackson Severt (2021 C, Church Road, VA) turned in a strong performance with two hits of his own. He showed an even planed swing path and a pull side approach that resulted in two singles. 
5- Red Vs. 8- White highlights

Richie Van Tassel (2020 MIF, Cary, NC) doubled in the game for the Red team this afternoon. Van Tassel has a line drive swing plane with a sound approach and displayed good base running instincts. 

Gavyn Byrd (2020 OF, Oak Ridge, NC) made solid contact at the plate both times up today singling in his first at bat. Byrd displayed good plate coverage and uses all fields.

Shyire Thompson (2019 MIF, Kinston, NC) also singled in the game for the White team. Thompson has a good swing with bat speed and is a gap to gap hitter with pop.

Cyle Phelan (2021 LHP, Fuquay Varina, NC) sat 77-84mph with his fastball and had his curveball at 65mph. Phelan has a compact smooth delivery with smooth repeatable mechanics. Phelan does a good job of using both sides of the plate showing good command of both his pitches and has good depth to his curveball.

Bryce Medlock (2019 SS, Prosperity, SC) had a good showing at the plate this afternoon including smoking a single to left field. Medlock has bat speed with a smooth swing and has a confident approach at the plate. 


 
4- Purple Vs. 7- Steel highlights

Gavin Younce (2019 C, Chesapeake, VA) had a good showing at the plate this afternoon. Younce has a good swing with a line drive plane and displayed bat speed. 

Andrew Zents (2019 3B, Wake Forest, NC) tripled in his last at bat of the game for the purple team today. Zents displayed good bat speed with pop and hits the ball to all fields. 

Jack Silder (2019 1B, Potomac, MD) had 2 hits in the game today for the purple team including doubling in his last at bat. Silder consistently squares the ball up with pop in his bat and drives the ball to the gaps. 

Jayden Gatling (2019 OF, Kinston, NC) had 2 hits today including a triple for the Steel team today. Gatling showed good plate discipline at the plate with a good swing and uses all fields. 

Tom Grose (2019 SS, Jamestown, NC) also had2 hits in the game for the Steel team today. Grose made consistent hard contact at the plate displaying bat speed with good plate coverage.

Derek Hughes (2019 C, Raleigh, NC) collected 2 hits in the game for the Steel team today including doubling in his last at bat. Hughes has a line drive swing plane with a confident approach at the plate and shows bat speed. 
7- Steel vs. 8- White highlights

Xander Hamilton (2019 RHP, Raleigh, NC) sat 81-85mph on his fastball today mixing in a slider at 77mph. Hamilton does a good job of working both sides of the plate and throws his slider for strikes consistently. 

David Keith (2020 MIF/ RHP, Fuquay Varina, NC) sat 82-84mph on his fastball this evening mixing in a curveball at 70mph and his slider at 72mph. Keith has a low effort delivery with a heavy fastball with sharp break to his curveball. 

Tom Grose (2019 SS, Jamestown, NC) made solid contact in his plate appearances today including tripling in his last at bat. Grose has a live drive swing plane with good bat speed and hits the ball to all fields. 

Collin Bosley-Smith (2020 RHP, Washington, DC) topped out at 85mph on his fastball with his curveball at 65mph, his slider at 70mph and his changeup at 74mph. Bosley-Smith showed good command of all 3 pitches on the mound with good arm speed and a good feel on the mound. 

Ried Dittner (2019 RHP, Apex, NC) topped out at 90mph on his fastball this evening mixing in his curveball at 71mph and his changeup at 76mph. Dittner does a good job of throwing downhill pitching from an over the top arm slot and has a power curveball.

Daniel Burleson (2019 2B, Stanfield, NC) had 2 hits in the game for the white team today. Burleson does a good job of making consistent contact and displayed good plate coverage.

Hogan Stallings (2020 1B, Wake Forest, NC) singled twice in the game for the white team today. Stallings has a line drive swing plane with bat speed and uses all fields.  
 
 
5- Red Vs. 6- Royal highlights

Jackson Reid (2019 RHP, Mooresville, NC) sat 78-84mph on his fastball with his curveball at 68mph. Reid has a compact well balanced online delivery wth good tempo with has fluid mechanics pitching downhill. Reid throws a heavy fastball commanding it to both sides of the plate and has good tight spin to his curveball with depth. 

Will Bowles (2019 RHP, Mechanicsville, VA) topped out at 82mph on his fastball mixing in a curveball at 71mph. Bowles has a fast tempo on the mound with a deceptive delivery with a quick arm action and gets out front. Bowels throws both his pitches for strikes and has good late bite to his curveball.

Nathan Cmeyla (2020 C, Ashburn, VA) had a good showing at the plate today including doubling for the red team. Cmeyla consistently squared the ball up today with a level swing plane and showed bat speed.

Wes Bowlin (2019 1B, Indian Trail, NC)  had 3 hits in the game for the Royal team this afternoon. Bowlin has an aggressive approach at the plate with bat speed and makes hard consistent contact. 


 
 
3- Navy Vs. 4- Purple highlights

Tommy O'Rourke (2020 RHP, Morristown, NJ) topped out at 87mph on his fastball today mixing it in with his curveball at 75mph. O'Rourke has a loose arm action with a deceptive delivery and did a good job of maintaining his velocity. O'Rourke showed good command of both pitches and throws strikes to both sides of the plate. 

Timothy Keefauver (2021 C, Clover, SC) had a couple of hits in the game for the Navy team today. Keefauver has a short swing with a sound approach with good speed the bases.

Gavin Younce (2019 C, Chesapeake, VA) showed off his defensive skills this afternoon. Younce has a showed a quick exchange behind the plate with a good release and threw a couple of kids out at second base during the game.

Carson Hinnant (2020 C, Wake Forest, NC) had a good showing at the bat in his teams game today. Hinnant uses all fields with a confident approach at the plate and showed good pitch recognition.

Gavyn Byrd (2020 OF, Oak Ridge, NC) possesses a fluid level swing plane with easy and well controlled barrel skills. Showed solid power and good jump off the bat with the ability to hit to all parts of the field.

Davis Downey (2019 3B, Durham, NC) extends the hands extremely well and showed solid power during his BP session. Generates great leverage on the swing to the pull side and squared the ball up consistently. 

Justin Ebert (2019 SS, Fayetteville, NC) uses his direct swing path and quick hands to deliver solid contact to the ball. The ball cracks off the bat and he sprayed line drives to all parts of the field. 

Nathan Cmeyla (2020 C, Ashburn, VA) pieced together a great performance as he squared balls up and drove hard liners all around the park. He utilizes both sides of the field showing quick hand speed and a balanced approach at the plate.

Cyle Phelan (2021 LHP, Fuquay Varina, NC) has a very natural and lofted swing which he uses to turn on balls to the pull side. Shows good bat speed and knows how to generate leverage in the swing to make the ball jump off the bat. 

Drew Bryan (2020 C, Sanford, NC) made solid impact with the ball using his short swing bath path and easy hand extension to carry the ball all around the yard. Shows line drive swing plane and creates some terrific carry on the ball.

Hunter Zents (2020 OF, Wake Forest, NC) shows a fluid and easy swing flashing good bat speed through the zone. Gets the hands in a good position so he can create leverage and launch the ball gap to gap.

Tom Grose (2019 SS, Jamestown, NC) gets the barrel head to the front of the zone driving the ball to the pull side. He flashes good bat speed and power from a high hand set position.

Hogan Stallings (2020 1B, Wake Forest, NC) put together a terrific display of power from a compact stroke and generating quick hip torque. High exit velocities off the bat and creates good leverage on the ball getting lift and carry. 

Daniel Burleson (2019 2B, Stanfield, NC) sprayed line drives all across the diamond from his short compact approach. Creates good natural loft on the ball and has tremendous barrel control.

Richie Van Tassel (2020 MIF, Cary, NC) showed a very consistent and repeatable round of BP with fantastic barrel control. Good line drive swing path to the ball and easy approach taking the ball back up the middle. 

Jonathan Spillman (2019 1B, Jamestown, NC) has a very easy and fluid swing getting good extension with the barrel. Creates natural loft on the ball and absolutely squared the ball up to the left center gap.

Xander Hamilton (2019 RHP, Raleigh, NC) put on a tremendous power display flashing great bat speed and big potential. Has an extremely leveraged swing and the ball screams off the bat.

Gavin Younce (2019 C, Chesapeake, VA) showed the ability to drive the ball to all parts of the field. Possesses very loose and easy hands and makes consistent contact with the barrel. Great approach middle away and sound mechanics.

Will Marcy (2021 SS, Raleigh, NC) gets good hand separation and sprays the ball gap to gap. Consistently barreled the ball up createing good natural lift in the swing.

Shemar Dalton (2020 OF, Walnut Cove, NC) showed a easy fluid stroke and put together a consistent round of solid contact. Good jump of the barrel and advanced approach at the plate.

Jacob Williams (2019 1B, Lynchburg, VA) showed a short inside hand path creating solid impact on the ball. Quick bat speed and possesses a lot of power in the swing.
