Dylan Hatfield is a 2021 C/3B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Vinton, VA who attends William Byrd. Medium and projectable frame with some strength present on his build. Ran a 7.21 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the baseball out in front, comes out of his crouch with explosion and quickness, good carry to his throws with plenty of strength behind it and accuracy to his target, gains ground into throws as well, projects well behind the plate, 1.84 second best pop time during drills. Righthanded hitter, sets up with a high hand set and a high back elbow at the plate, compact hands to the baseball with some strength at impact, hits off of his front side with an inside path taken to the baseball, loose hands, opposite field oriented approach. Outstanding student. Verbal commitment to Virginia Tech.
