2018 Top Prospects

Mark McCabe  LHP - 2018 - Lisle, IL
Uncommitted

McCabe was extremely impressive on the mound, showing a very fast left arm with a very tough low 3/4 angle, running his fastball up to 85 mph and absolutely pounding the zone with it. He also worked in a sharp, bat-breaking slider and a quality changeup as well.

Charles Wood  RHP - 2018 - Berwyn, IL

Wood may have been the best offensive prospect in the event; consistently showing a smooth, easy swing with lots of bat speed and loft. He showed excellent hands through his swing and barreled up the ball consistently; both in BP and in game.

Tyler Willman  1B - 2018 - Sterling, IL

Willman showed as one of the stronger prospects, physically, in the event. That strength was on display both at bat, where he showed big time raw pop and bat speed; as well as on the mound, where he worked up to 86 mph with heavy sink and a sharp breaking ball.

Simen Restad  RHP - 2018 - Prior Lake, MN
Indian Hills CC

Restad has some legitimate strength throughout his body, which works very well for him both on the mound and at bat. He has big raw power with the ability to drive the ball deep off the bat; and on the mound he got up to 87 mph with heavy life and mixed in both a breaking ball and a changeup.

Logan Wynalda  RHP - 2018 - Hudsonville, MI
Cedarville University

Wynalda is an intriguing prospect both on the mound and with the bat. He showed legitimate righthanded pop in his swing, and on the mound worked up to 85 mph and showed lots of life on the fastball while working in a quality breaking ball.

Adrian Del Valle  OF - 2018 - Glen Ellyn, IL

DelValle showed some of the better defensive actions of the event, staying light on his feet while moving in on the ball in the outfield with good balance and athleticism. He works through the ball well and showed off quality arm strength, clocked up to 83 mph.

Isaac Dirker  RHP - 2018 - Howards Grove, WI
Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Dirker is one of the more physically projectable prospects of the event, with long limbs and lots of room to fill out. He creates good arm speed and showed lots of plane to the plate, working up to 83 mph and showing a good curveball as well.

Zack Heidenry  2B - 2018 - Lisle, IL

Heidenry showed quality all-around tools during this event; running a 7.02 seconds 60 yard dash time, showing a clean path with smooth hands through his swing, and finally, showing quality footwork and range in the infield with good arm strength up to 82 mph.

Chance Roach  RHP - 2018 - Countryside, IL
Carthage College

Roach showed solid ability both with the bat and on the mound. He has strength in his swing and showed the ability to hit the ball into the air; while on the mound he worked up to 83 mph and missed bats with both his curveball and changeup.


2019 Top Prospects

Marcus Wright  SS - 2019 - Chicago, IL
Indian Hills CC

Wright was exemplary in several facets of the game. He ran a 6.88 seconds 60 yard dash time with lots of twitch and athleticism; played a very good shortstop with an 87 mph arm across the diamond, and showed legitimate hitting and power tools from both sides of the plate.

Benjamin Pedersen  RHP - 2019 - Duluth, MN
Missouri

Pedersen was outstanding on the mound; working up to 88 mph with his fastball and really dominating hitters within the zone with it. He's got advanced physicality and size as well. He showed a swing-and-miss slider as well as a usable changeup.

Tyler Struck  C - 2019 - Orland Park, IL
Valparaiso

Struck had one of the better offensive weekends of the event. He showed consistent bat to ball skills with good strength, showing consistent barrels to all parts of the ballpark in addition to showing well defensively behind the plate.

Tyler Hallenbeck  LHP - 2019 - Grandville, MI

Hallenbeck has a good physical presence on the mound in addition to good stuff. He has a loose arm and good physicality; working up to 82 mph with heavy arm side life to the fastball. He also worked in a slider that missed bats and showed a good changeup as well.

Joseph Kaminski  RHP - 2019 - McHenry, IL

Kaminski impressed on the mound, working up to 82 mph from a compact, quick arm stroke that he hides well through the back. He showed both a slider and a curveball with definite feel to spin both pitches, missing bats with both.

Garret Cook  OF - 2019 - Plainfield, IL

Cook had a very good weekend athletically, running a 6.94 seconds 60 yard dash time and showing that speed in games on defense, where he can really cover ground in the outfield. He threw 80 mph from the outfield and showed quick hands at bat as well.


2020 Top Prospects

Liam Higgins  C - 2020 - New Lenox, IL

Higgins had a quality weekend from an offensive perspective. He showed the ability to drive the ball into the air with authority and consistency, showing good bat speed and strength while doing it. He also showed usable tools behind the plate.


2021 Top Prospects

Al Holguin  1B - 2021 - Chicago, IL
South Carolina-Upstate

Holguin has advanced physicality and strength, especially for a 2021 prospect. He shows that big time strength in his swing, where he can drive the ball deep to the pull field, and also had athletic actions at 1st base with smooth footwork. Definitely one to follow.
