Turner Lachey (2026 SS, Sidney, OH) led off the bottom half of the first with a base hit through the 5-6 hole. Worked the count well and displayed solid feel for situational hitting, spraying an outside fastball the opposite way. Open stance with a slight back foot load. Toe tap timing trigger with a quick hip twitch. His swing is contact-oriented, and he excelled at spraying contact across the field. Lachey’s hands stay high around his chin, and are quick to connect through the zone. The swing itself displayed some length and slight barrel lag, allowing him to work the outside parts of the plate well and consistently hit to the backside with intent.
Ben Coffman (2027 C, Zionsville, IN) grabbed three base hits in his first three at-bats, barreling all three with ease. His stance is even and slightly closed in the upper body, with his elbows and hands starting up around his chin. The swing itself is long and loose, with a present barrel angle that helps him square up contact in all parts of the zone.
Gustav Everly (2025 SS, Los Angeles, CA) jumped on a fastball while ahead in the count and delivered a loud single up the middle to drive in two in the first. Displayed a very solid eye and made advanced adjustments that allowed him to jump on a mistake pitch before squaring up contact. His stance is closed and he tends to work his front foot towards the ball. Everly’s swing displayed some length, and with his quick wrists, he generated some bat speed that translated to power late in the game when he smoked a ground-rule double into deep left field. His combination of tools make him an interesting bat to follow down the line.
Tanner Schroeck (2027 3B, Upper St Clair, PA) drove a fly ball deep into the left-center gap with two outs in the third. Schroeck did an excellent job getting his hands around on the fastball and flashed plus bat speed. His swing was quick, and showed off some advanced barrel control with the ability to leverage his gap power into extra bases. Slight barrel angle that helped him work mostly line-drive contact. As well, he showed some quickness on the base paths along with aggressive base reads to stretch what would normally be a double into a triple, as well as swiping bags throughout the game.
Drew Johnson (2025 1B, Saint Clair Shores, MI) was solid despite falling behind early in this look, muscling a high-and-inside fastball over the head of the right fielder for a line drive triple. He hits out of a slightly open stance with a slight leg lift timing trigger. The lefty shows an advanced build with raw power. His back elbow stays high throughout the process and his swing plane is even and controlled. Johnson consistently worked to generate backspin and create lift, mostly swinging around the lower half of the ball, and most often hunting elevation. Also tagged a triple into the right-center gap later on in the game, two hopping the wall in one of the deeper parts of the park to put on a display of his raw power.
Nolan Coppens (2025 1B, Northville, MI) roped a triple out to center to keep the fourth inning alive. His build is slightly built with more room to grow. He hits from a straight stance with a slight bat wiggle, keeping his hands away from the body and set close to the zone. The swing is short and quick, with a short path to the ball and solid point of impact. Able to do the most damage on the inside half where he can get his barrel around the ball and utilize his plus bat speed to generate pull-side power.
Dayton Miller (2026 OF, New Boston, MI) worked a seven pitch count and smoked a base hit up the middle, then used his plus speed to swipe second on the next pitch. His swing is simple and compact, working inside-out with some bat speed. Got the barrel around well and exploited the middle of the field. Plenty of athletic looks in the outfield, covering ground with ease and making intelligent routes to the ball.
Jonah Willochell (2025 1B, Murrysville, PA) was dominant in his three innings of work, striking out four on just 39 pitches. His loose arm action paired with his deceptive armslot allowed him to pair his fastball and curveball extremely well, landing both with ease while matching tunnels to freeze up hitters. Athletic build with some room to add muscle, delivery is deliberate and shows the potential to add velocity as he builds up intent.
Liam Nolte (2027 SS, Liberty Township, OH) showed off the potential for plus power on the mound, sitting around 80-82 with some life. He missed plenty of bats, striking out three in his brief look. Through his outing, he displayed plus arm speed and solid shoulder separation that allowed him to really let the ball fly out of his hand.
Matthew Berry (2026 C, Frankfort, IN) went to the backside gap for a triple to open up the tenth, later coming around to score. He made excellent barrel impact using a loose swing with some lag. Created solid lift and displayed some muscle. Front leg timing trigger with a slight leg lift. Advanced build with some room to grow.
