Florida All Region Team & Top Tools

This is a golden age of Florida high school baseball and the 2026 All-Region (Florida) Team reflects that. The entire team is made up of 2025 Perfect Game All-Americans, plus two Top 10 underclassmen. The pitching staff is especially strong and runs much deeper than the five pitchers listed below. And things are unlikely to change in the near future, as there are currently 17 players from Florida in the Top 100 in the 2027 PG Class Rankings, a total that doesn’t include players from other states who attend IMG Academy or other Florida based academies.

That individual strength among top prospects is reflected in the top teams in the state as well. An eye opening six Florida teams are ranked in the Top 13 in the pre-season 2026 national high school rankings. Perennial national title contender Stoneman Douglas, led by LHP-1B Gio Rojas, is ranked second in the rankings, followed by Florida schools Tampa Jesuit (4th), Trinity Christian Academy (6th), South Walton (8th), IMG Academy (10th) and Venice (13th).

Tampa Jesuit’s situation is interesting and is a good example of the talent depth in the state and among the top programs. Two Jesuit pitchers, Wilson Anderson and Braden Waechter, are PG All-Americans and All-Region selections, yet a third Jesuit pitcher, Samir Mohammed, is the top ranked right-handed pitcher in the 2027 class and has arguably the best fastball in the state.

IMG and South Walton also have two players represented on the All-Region Team and South Walton’s pitching, in particular, might be a match for Tampa Jesuit’s.

In a fun side note, three members of the All-Region team are sons of former Major League players; 1B Frank Thomas Jr., SS Jacob Lombard and RHP Waechter.

C -- Dillon Moss (Sr., IMG Academy, Fla.)

Moss is a California native but attends IMG Academy in Florida. He was a 2025 Perfect Game All-American and features a nice combination of defensive tools, including and 86 mph arm and offensive potential, especially as he continues to fill out his slender athletic build. He’s signed to back home to Stanford for college.

1B -- Frank Thomas III (Jr., IMG Academy, Fla.)

Hall of Fame first baseman Frank Thomas’ son isn’t as big as his dad (only 6-2/205) and is a left-handed hitter but seems to have similar hitting skills. The Auburn commit hit .544-5-41 as a sophomore at IMG and .382-3-25 in 24 games during PG tournament play during the summer. Thomas is the top ranked first baseman in the 2027 class and is 46th overall in the PG National 2027 rankings.

MIF -- Chase Fuller (Jr., Lincoln HS, Fla.)

Fuller is the top ranked 2027 in the country, although the 6-3/205 athlete may end up at a corner position as he continues to mature. In addition to a mid-90’s arm from multiple positions, James has huge right-handed power. He hit .351-7-22 in 28 PG games in 2025 after hitting .400-4-23 in 22 games in 2024.

MIF -- Jacob Lombard (Sr., Gulliver Schools, Fla.)

Lombard is the second ranked prospect in the 2026 class behind Texas shortstop Grady Emerson and few would argue hard if Lombard were to be number one. He’s a pure shortstop who will stay there for a long time and is the fastest player in the class despite being 6-3/185. Lombard’s right-handed bat projects big power and he hit 5 home runs in 16 PG games in 2025 after hitting .434-1-28 in 2024.

3B -- Louis Hernandez (Sr., Lake Mary HS, Fla.)

A Perfect Game All-American, Hernandez has a great combination of physicality and size at 6-5/204 and speed/athleticism as a primary shortstop who runs a 6.43 sixty. The right-handed hitter has put up .410-4-38 numbers in 39 games over the last two years in PG play and is signed with Clemson.

OF -- Nathaneal Davis (Sr., Bishop Moore HS, Fla.)

A Perfect Game All-American who is ranked 21st overall in the 20226 class, Davis’s left-handed hitting ability overshadows the fact that he is a 6.30 runner with a 94 mph outfield arm. He’s been a three-year starter at Bishop Moore and hit over .400 every year, including .415-7-31 as a junior with 26 extra base hits and 22 stolen bases.

OF -- Kinon Bastian (Jr., The First Academy, Fla.)

Florida boasts both the top overall 2027 prospect in the country in Chase Fuller (above) and the top ranked 2027 outfielder in Bastian, who is ranked fourth overall in the class. Bastian isn’t a big athlete at 5-11/185 but has electric right-handed bat speed, big present power and high-level run/throw tools.

OF -- Brady Harris (Sr., Trinity Christian Academy, Fla.)

Harris is the top ranked outfielder nationally in the 2025 class and the seventh ranked prospect overall. A true center fielder with 6.32 speed and a 100 mph outfield throwing arm, Harris also has outstanding right-handed bat speed and present power. He is signed with Florida but is considered a potential first round pick in July.

RHP Wilson Andersen (Sr., Tampa Jesuit HS, Fla.)

Andersen was a 2025 Perfect Game All-American and is currently ranked 51st overall in the 2026 class and the sixth ranked right-handed pitcher. He went 9-3, 1.04 as a junior with 105 strikeouts in 67 innings while also hitting five home runs at the plate at Tampa Jesuit. Anderson has topped out at 97 mph with his fastball and has a full four-pitch arsenal to attack hitters with.

RHP Denton Lord (Sr., South Walton HS, Fla.)

Lord is an extra big and tall 6-8/215 right-hander with a big fastball that reached 97 mph at both the 2025 PG All-American Classic and the UBC East but he stands out for his polish on the mound as much as his velocity, with a three-pitch mix he throws for plenty of strikes. Lord went 8-0, 1.50 at South Walton HS as a junior with 84 strikeouts and only 22 hits allowed in 46 innings.

LHP Gio Rojas (Sr., Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS, Fla.)

Rojas is the highest ranked pitcher in the 2026 class nationally and third overall prospect. He went 13-0, 0.72 for Stoneman Douglas as a junior, striking out 120 hitters in 68 innings while also chipping in a ,375-2-32 line at the plate.

RHP Brady Snow (Sr., American Heritage HS, Fla.)

Snow was one of the most improved pitchers in the country over the course of 2025 and is geared for a strong 2026. After an uneventful 2025 spring season (4-4, 2.49, 59 K’s in 45 IP), Snow first earned an invitation to the PG National Showcase, then PG All-American Showcase, featuring a fastball that topped out at 96 mph with outstanding life to go with a 2900+ rpm curveball.

RHP Kaden Waechter (Sr., Tampa Jesuit HS, Fla.)

Waechter is a very athletic right-hander who combines power stuff, including a fastball that will touch 96 mph to go with a mid-80’s slider and change up, with the characteristics of a control/command pitcher. He’s thrown 64% strikes the past two years of PG play and has only walked 13 hitters in 43 innings during the spring. Waechter is the son of former MLB right-hander Doug Waechter.

Utility -- Coleman Borthwick (Sr., South Walton HS, Fla.)

The 6-6/255 Borthwick is probably best known as a power hitting corner infielder during the spring in Florida, where he hit .471-6-51 for South Walton HS, but stood out on both sides of the ball for the World Champion USA 18U team and was named the USA Baseball Player of the Year. The Auburn signee played both ways for Team USA but stood out most on the mound, using his low to mid-90’s fastball and plus command to throw a shutout in the championship game.

Florida Region Top Tools

Best Hitter for Average: Nathaneal Davis (Sr., Bishop Moore HS, Fla.)

Davis has hit over .500 in PG play over the last two years with exceptionally high contact ratios and has had the same type of success in the spring during high school play. His speed adds another dimension to his ability to run his batting average up.

Best Hitter for Power: Chase Fuller (Jr., Lincoln HS, Fla.)

This could be almost anyone on this All-Region team, even Lombard, who projects big power or the 5-11 Bastain and his electric bat speed. But Fuller is already strong enough to simply over power baseballs and he’s a junior and still growing. And his present power shows up in games, most importantly.

Best Runner: Jacob Lombard (Sr., Gulliver Schools, Fla.)

Lombard has an eye opening 6.11 sixty to his credit and is an easy glider in all his actions with almost deceptive speed. He’s the type a scout will time home to first and wish he had run harder until he looks at his watch and sees a 4.02 or some other plus/plus time.

Best Defensive Catcher: Dillon Moss (Sr., IMG Academy, Fla.)

Moss still needs some polish in his receiving skills but the arm strength and athleticism are there for him to be a solid defensive catcher and definitely stay at the position at the higher levels.

Best Defensive Infielder: Jacob Lombard (Sr., Gulliver Schools, Fla.)

Some have been critical of Lombard’s raw arm strength but he gets rid of the ball so quickly and smoothly that he rarely needs or wants to air it out. His range at the next level will be at the elite level.

Best Defensive Outfielder: Brady Harris (Sr., Trinity Christian Academy, Fla.)

Harris has all the physical tools to be a Gold Glove center fielder given his 6.3 speed and 100 mph throwing arm. All that is missing is the experience and route running that will come with time.

Best Defensive Arm: Brady Harris (Sr., Trinity Christian Academy, Fla.)

100 mph from the outfield doesn’t need much explanation. Keep on eye on outfielder Kyler Meccage (Jr., IMG Academy, Fla.), the 12th ranked player in the 2027 class, already has huge arm strength and lots of projection remaining.

Best Fastball: Samir Mohammed (Jr., Tampa Jesuit HS, Fla.)

The wealth and depth of the Tampa Jesuit pitching staff is that their third best pitcher happens to be a junior who sits 94-97 mph for strikes and is the 11th ranked prospect in the 2027 class. The 6-5/240 Mohammed is a power pitcher who throws strikes; he only walked 13 hitters in 33 innings as a sophomore with 45 strikeouts.

Best Off-Speed Stuff: Brayden Harris (Sr., St. Johns Country Day, Fla.)

Harris will touch 95 mph on his fastball but his best pitch is a low 80’s hammer curveball that he used frequently to strike out 149 hitters in 76 innings as a junior while going 11-0, 0.55. Harris, who also throws an advanced change up, also has 48 strikeouts in 28 PG innings over the past two years.

Best Pitchability: Gio Rojas (Sr., Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS, Fla.)

Rojas features a fastball that will touch 97 mph to go along with a sweeping slider and fading change up to go with a seemingly effortless delivery that lets him throw all three pitches to spots. He’s only walked 19 hitters in 89 innings in his last two high school seasons while throwing almost 68% strikes at PG events during the same time.

Uncommitted Spotlight: Mason Rosenberg, 1B, 2027, Bishop Eustace Prep Uncommitted Mason Rosenberg (2027, NJ) has been an absolute force within the Bishop Eustace lineup, as the left-handed hitting slugger is hitting .481 through eleven games including six homers. The strength has vastly improved, allowing for Rosenberg to impact the baseball with authority to all fields. Couple that with improved speed and athleticism, this uncommitted 2027 can be a welcomed addition to a class looking for offense.
