13U National Kicks Off in Fort Myers

This Friday through Sunday, many of the nation’s top young prospects from the classes of 2030 and 2031 will head to Fort Myers, Florida, as the 2026 PG 13U National Showcase gets underway at JetBlue Park. The invitation-only event features some of the brightest young stars in the country as they look to make their way onto the national stage.

This showcase provides players with an opportunity to compete against elite talent from across the country while also serving as a key evaluation for the 2026 PG 13U Select Baseball Festival.



“The 13u National Showcase will be the first showcase for a lot of these guys, but we’ve seen their talents throughout this past fall, spring and the summer circuit, securing their invite to the event,” said Jheremy Brown, Perfect Game’s National Director of 13U & 14U Player Development and Festivals.

Among some of the stand out players who'll be in attendance are outfielders Joshua Park and Ryan Spann and shortstop Carlo Rivero.

Park, a La Mirada, California native, has established himself as one of the premier hitters in the field. The left-handed batter earned MVP honors at the 13U PGI National Championship after going 17-for-24 with five home runs, a 2.288 OPS and nine walks compared to just one strikeout. Park has been just as productive throughout the year, batting .626 with a 1.968 OPS, 34 home runs and 169 RBI in 122 games.

Spann, of Tifton, Georgia, returns to the national stage as a two-time PG Select Festival participant after another standout season. The left-handed hitter has been one of the most productive offensive players in the class this season. He has posted a 1.764 OPS while batting .542 with 12 home runs, 60 RBI and 48 stolen bases over 66 games.

Rivero has established himself as one of the top two-way players in the class, earning invitations to both the 11U and 12U Select Festivals. The Tucson, Arizona native has produced at the plate this season, posting a 1.244 OPS while batting .468 with 99 RBI and 50 stolen bases over 121 games. He has also been effective on the mound, recording a 2.88 ERA with 73 strikeouts across 60.2 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .212 batting average.

The field also includes two of the highest-ranked members of the Class of 2030 in outfielder Brayden Nims and shortstop Ethan Palacios.

The No. 9-ranked player and No. 4-ranked outfielder in the Class of 2030, Nims of Pace, Florida brings one of the most accomplished résumés in the field. The 2025 12U Select Festival participant is ranked as the No. 3 player and No. 1 outfielder in Florida, standing out for his physical 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame and offensive upside. Nims has continued to produce this season, posting a 1.068 OPS while batting .343 with 31 RBI and 18 stolen bases over 47 games.

Palacios, the No. 35-ranked player and No. 10-ranked shortstop in the Class of 2030, enters the weekend as another of the field’s top underclass talents. The two-time Select Festival participant has enjoyed a productive season at the plate, posting a 1.270 OPS while batting .449 with 74 RBI and 57 stolen bases over 116 games. The Buda, Texas native has also been effective on the mound, recording a 2.30 ERA with 66 strikeouts across 64 innings.

Several additional players have already put together standout summers on the Perfect Game circuit. Shortstop/right-handed pitcher Lucca Giano enters the weekend after earning MVPitcher honors at the 13U PGI National Championship. Giano was dominant over three appearances during the event, attacking hitters in the strike zone while also contributing offensively. He has continued that success throughout the season, batting .571 with a 1.578 OPS and 12 home runs over 114 games. On the mound, Giano owns a 2.54 ERA with 73 strikeouts in 52.1 innings.

Left-handed pitcher Caleb Covarrubias was named MVPitcher at the 13U Best of the Best Invitational after another strong two-way campaign. This season, he is batting .490 with a 1.357 OPS while posting a 2.91 ERA with 95 strikeouts in 77 innings.

Best of the Best MVP Fielder Grebert enters the weekend ranked No. 62 nationally in the Class of 2030 after posting a 1.457 OPS while batting .515 with eight home runs and 63 RBI over 54 games.

Right-handed pitcher Jake Beleckis also enters the showcase after earning MVPitcher honors at the 13U World Series. He has recorded a 1.88 ERA with 50 strikeouts in 37.1 innings this season.

Brown expects the talent level to be on full display throughout the weekend.

“The rosters are loaded with talent and it’s going to create some really fun matchups over the weekend while padding the leaderboards with some big metrics following Friday's workout day,” he said.

For the fourth time since its inception in 2023, two rosters comprised of the best rising juniors (and a handful of rising sophomores) will step out onto the field Friday afternoon, kicking off the All-American weekend.
