Purple vs. Gold Highlights

8/14/2022

Toby Lite (2024, Santa Clarita, CA) is standing out as a big time presence on both sides, and it continued on Sunday. Lite has made plays at shortstop over two days, ranging all the way to his right to make a sliding stop and flashing the leather. Good defensive instincts on the dirt. At the plate, Lite has present quickness in the hands to match plane from a higher set. The bat-to-ball skills are there. He roped one down the line for a standup double. Lite has made his presence felt in a big way and is uncommitted for the 2024 class.

Landyn Thomas (2023, Garden Grove, CA) got things started with a loud opposite field double to right-center field. Thomas opened eyes with his BP session yesterday, and it showed up in a big way in game. His strong levers create some leverage to the opposite field with easy physicality in the frame. The strength stands out in a big way and is starting to show up against quality pitching. Big time performer and uncommitted for the 2023 class.

Finn Whalen (2024, San Francisco, CA) was a big two-way standout. Whalen split the gap on a pull-side double and ran it up to 80 mph in relief. Big physical presence both ways, good strength at the plate. Strong steady hands that work to the pull. Can hop on the bump and show a potent two-pitch mix. Whalen impressed in a big way on Sunday, remains uncommitted for the 2024 class.

Kendall Ward (2023, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) had one of the more louder pieces of contact on the day, sending one to deep right field for a standup triple. Pretty simple, easy left-handed swing with the ability to turn to the pull side. Good hands and hip rotation. A real good piece of hitting on display. Uncommitted for the 2023 class.

Devon Wilkes (2025, Oxnard, CA) was on the ball all day and found himself a loud barrel. The left-handed hitter turned on one for a two-run double down the line. Big, physical build playing up at the age and has some good strength at contact. Produced loud jump off the barrel to the pull side, something that can only develop as the frame matures. Name to keep an eye on in the 2025 class.

Luke Bailey (2025, El Cajon, CA) ran it up to 85 mph in relief over three innings of work. The right-hander has a pretty firm fastball for the age and pounded the zone with it. Worked off a mid-70s slider with some late biting action to it when released cleanly out of the hand. It’s a potent two-pitch mix that opened eyes in a big way. Name to keep an eye on in the 2025 class.

Jack Steidl (’24 Santa Clarita, CA) remarkable play not only to leap up and rob a basest but to have the awareness to deliver a strong on time throw to second to double up the runner.

Mason Walls (’25 Pearland, TX) smoked a ball through the 5-6 hole for a one out knock. Additionally, a couple dominant innings on the bump.

Daedin Chang (’26 Honolulu, HI) drops the head and wraps a top spin liner into right field for a loud two out knock.

Joshua Siegel (’23 Redondo Beach, CA) laser down the left field line, employs plus running ability stealing second and third base uncontested.

White vs Royal

8/14/2022

Aiden Bravo (2025, Rancho Cucamonga, CA) kept the hands back and hammered a breaking ball into deep left field for an RBI knock. A strong frame and good leverage within the swing helps generate solid pullside power.

Jacob Imoto (2024, Oceanside, CA) was an impressive arm out of the pen. The lefthander ran the fastball 83 mph with good depth on the curveball at 67-70 mph. Imoto also showed some two-way potential, lacing a ball into center field for a hit late in the game.

Yelllow @ Green

8/13/2022

Eric Bertone attacked the zone for three straight innings from the left side, while not allowing a single hit and striking out 6.  Eric has a plus breaking ball complimented with a well located fastball with late arm side run.

Elijah Stevens showed well today. Through his three innings of work he fanned 5 while not allowing a hit.  Standing at 6’6 he has plenty of room to fill out his frame.  As a 2025 he has the time to develop down the road into a real threat on the mound from the left side.

Alexzander Hernandez had an incredibly efficient outing today.  Throwing only 21 pitches in his 2 innings of work, he attacked the zone to every hitter.  Pitching to contact and letting his defense back him up.  Alexzander is a 2025 grad, leaving him a few years to gain some velocity on an impressive sinker.

John-John Aguilar absolutely filled up the zone throughout his 3 innings of work, only allowing 1 hit and striking out 7. Getting up to 76 he has a frame that has room to grow and add some velocity and grow as a pitcher.

Donovan Rendon (2025, Covina, CA) showcased a quick bat through the zone in his round. Some looseness and feel at the plate. Good hands and ability to match plane well. Strung it to all fields and really impressed offensively. Plenty more in store as the frame matures.

Joshua Garcia (2024, Chula Vista, CA) showed some things to like in his round, present bat speed with quick hands that played to all fields. Can turn on some to the pull with good amounts of strength packed in the upper half. Physical, lean build that really shows at the next level. Some things to like going forward.

Spencer Troise (2023, Santa Ynez, CA) featured a violent path that had plenty of intent. Separation in the hands, quick bat packed with strength. Found loud barrels to all fields, especially the pull. Stung the gaps and really played to his strengths.

Makani Nabarro (2023, Buellton, CA) showed some easy pop at the dish with strong levers that controlled the field. Gets separated on a good lofted path, plays well to strength. Found barrels to both gaps and put together a really solid round.

Landyn Thomas (2023, Garden Grove, CA) shows promise as the frame continues to fill out. The strength as evident in his round and turned on one violently to the pull to end his round. Showed a good, physical presence in the box and has a lot to work with in the frame.

Reymundo Peraza Jr. (2024, Fresno, CA) was another big pull-side power presence in his round. Strong hands create bat speed on a lofted path. Gets the head out front and let’s the strength take over. Strong pull-side juice that really translated on the day.

Brayden Ferguson (2024, Marietta, CA) had a polished round with some physical strength gains that can only add to his offensive upside. Worked it to all fields and showed solid barrel control through the zone. Solid contact at the plate and good extension out front. Good presence.
