10-White vs 11-Columbia Blue Game Highlights

6/16/2020

Spencer Boles (2022 OF, Midwest City, OK) showed present strength with a short and direct path to the ball with juice in the barrel. Doubled down the left field line in his second at-bat in a 1-for-2 performance.

Spencer Boles (2022 OF, Midwest City, OK) found the barrel a couple of times on the day with a short stroke and direct barrel path, collecting two hits, one in the infield and the other a line drive to centerfield.

Spencer Boles (2022 OF, Midwest City, OK) showed plenty of quick-twitch with athleticism and in-game speed. Collected a pair of hits, including a double to centerfield, scored a run and stole a base in the game. 

Nick Olivarez (2021 C, League City, TX) tallied two hits on the day, including a line drive to deep centerfield with strength in his hands and the ability to impact the baseball throughout the zone. 

 


9-Royal vs 12-Gray Game Highlights

6/17/2020

Christian Gonzalez (2021 3B, Houston, TX) showed off some pullside pop when he got the barrel head out front and laced a double to left field.

Logan Tadlock (2021 SS, Baytown, TX) continued on a strong weekend by going backside in his first at-bat for a well struck double. 

Brayden Buchanan (2023 C, Austin, TX) jumped on the mound and showed a whole lot to like at present and in upside chucking 85-87 mph with downhill life out of the hand. He also showed nice feel to spin a high spin breaking ball in the low-70s and a developing changeup also showing in the low-70s. 

Syr Baron Bailey (2022 OF, Pearland, TX) showed a really balanced swing and a solid power based approach when he went backside for a loud triple in his second at bat. 

Jake Martinez (2021 C, Dickinson, TX) went backside well twice, showing the ability to stay inside the ball and drive it with authority picking up a single and a triple in his three at-bats.

Roberto Perez (2022 LHP, Corpus Christi, TX) showed the ability to sit back on the baseball and drive it well when he drove a 2 RBI single is his final at bat of the game.


7-Purple vs. 6-Orange Game Highlights

6/17/2020

Cash Saxton (2021 RHP, Tomball, TX) put together a must-hit game for the Purple team, collecting single and double in his first two at-bats respectively. Saxton has an athletic frame and strong build, getting on-plane well in his swing. 

James Mahoney (2022 3B, Andover, MA) roped a double in game action on Sunday, showcasing a direct path to contact and line drive barrel plane. Mahoney has a soft front leg and shows a solid approach in the box. 

Carson Queck (2022 OF, The Woodlands, TX) dazzled over two innings on the mound, sitting 83-87mph with a firm fastball and showing feel for a slider in the mid-70s. Queck has present strength in the frame and uses the lower half efficiently. 

Hunter Porche (2021 OF, Houma, LA) was strong in his two innings on the mound, running the fastball up to 87mph and showing feel for a pair of secondary offerings. Porche struck out five and can land the low-70s curveball and low-80s cutter for strikes. 

 


8-Red vs. 5-Navy Game Highlights

6/17/2020

Brazos Gadler (2021 OF, Houston, TX) smoked a double in his third trip to the plate, showcasing a smooth and easy swing. The Houston native stays short to the ball with some present bat speed. 

Ronnie Toney (2022 C, Sulphur, LA) drove a hard single to left field in his first trip to the plate, using his hips well and staying connected. The 2022 catcher has a high-contact approach and projects for more power as the frame matures. 

Benjamin Merriman (2023 OF, Austin, TX) had a pair of pull-side singles in his first two trips to the plate, staying balanced through the swing and getting the bat head out front. The Austin native has a sound approach and flashes some pull-side jump in game action. 

Joshua Pena (2022 RHP, Channelview, TX) put together a strong three innings of work on the mound, staying online and getting down the mound with easy actions. Pena worked the fastball to both sides of the plate at 80-83mph and showed some feel for a curveball at 69mph. 


Game Highlights 1-Black vs 4-Green

Payton Moser (2021 RHP, The Woodlands, TX) collected two hits, both singles to left field in three at-bats on the day. He displays solid bat speed at the plate and the feel for squaring up the ball in live action.

Cade Farragut (2021 2B, Spring, TX) made consistent solid contact with an easy swing and barrel awareness collecting three hits in as many at-bats on the day.

Aidan Sharp (2022 1B, Colleyville, TX) showed quick hands at the plate with some pop in the barrel collecting 2 hits in three at-bats. Also worked three innings on the mound with feel for pounding the strike zone with plane and tilt on his fastball. Long frame that is projectable and showed feel for his curve ball as well.

Briggs Loveland (2021 SS, Burleson, TX) doubled to left field and tripled to right field in the game showing present strength with the ability to drive the ball to all fields with a level swing path that generates slight lift.

Gabriel Herrera (2021 C, San Antonio, TX) uses a middle of the field approach and stays behind the ball well. He collected a pair of singles in a two-for-three day showing solid bat-to-ball skills.

Roy Carlson (2020 C, Florence, TX) handled the bat well and made hard contact to the opposite field for a triple in his final at-bat to go with a single to the pull side in his first at-bat. 


3-Gray vs. 2-Columbia Blue Game Highlights

6/17/2020

Ben Tadlock (2021 SS, Lubbock, TX) ripped a pull-side double in his first trip to the plate Sunday, showcasing a quick, short and compact swing. Tadlock has an athletic build and shows advanced baseball IQ in game action. 

Jack Martinez (2021 RHP, Corpus Christi, TX) had a hard-hit double down the third base line in his first trip to the plate, showcasing good jump off the barrel and a line drive barrel plane. The Corpus Christi native has a strong and athletic frame with room to add strength. 

Carson Hintz (2022 C, Spring, TX) impressed in his inning of work, striking out a pair of hitters and allowing just one hit. Hintz ran the fastball up to 84mph during his outing and showed some feel for a mid-60s curveball as well.

Dawson Overby (2021 OF, Mansfield, TX) collected three hits in game action Sunday, most notably banging a double off the fence in center field. Overby has a strong frame and has really shown off a present hit tool throughout the weekend. 

Ernest Escamilla (2023 3B, Tomball, TX) showed a strong glove and athletic actions throughout the game, making a couple of really nice plays. The primary third baseman is a right-handed hitter and is a young name to watch in Texas. 


9-Royal vs 10-White Game Highlights

6/16/2020

Jack Clark (2021 2B, Tyler, TX) showed good balance at the plate with a fluid swing and created good extension through the zone collecting two hits in game action including a double in his last at-bat. He also hopped on the mound and worked one scoreless inning up to 86 mph with the fastball.

Todd Baffa (2021 SS, Keller, TX) showed good feel for the barrel with a knack for creating hard contact. He collected three hits in three trips to the plate.

David Lopez (2021 RHP, Mission, TX) stays inside the baseball well and displayed good hand strength at contact. He generated good jump off the barrel on a double in his first at-bat of the game. He also hopped on the mound and worked three scoreless innings with a fastball up to 87 mph.

Nicholas Anderson (2021 C, Humble, TX) displayed a smooth, fluid linear barrel plane with good barrel control to all parts of the zone. He picked up two base hits in this game action.

Spencer Boles (2022 OF, Midwest City, OK) displayed present bat speed and strength at contact with the ability to turn the barrel head aggressively and generate loud contact when he homered as one of his two hits in this game action.

Ryan McAffrey (2021 RHP, Amarillo, TX) is strongly build with long levers and a simple, repeatable delivery working from a high three-quarters slot that created downhill plane up to 86 mph.

 


11-Columbia Blue vs 12-Gray Game Highlights

6/16/2020

Luis Chapa (2022 SS, Pasadena, TX) showed a high baseball IQ with advanced offensive instincts. Doubled to left-centerfield as part of a 1-for-2 day at the plate.

Cole Lingerfelt (2021 RHP, Montgomery, TX) doubled in a one-for-two day at the plate, stole a base and scored a run. He also worked on the mound, striking out 4 in three innings of work.

Tristian Cavazos Reichwald (2021 3B, McAllen, TX) doubled to left-centerfield with natural lift in the swing as part of a one-for-two day at the plate.

Grayson Lincecum (2023 RHP, Houston, TX) tossed three innings showing lively stuff and racking up five strikeouts. Working from an ideal frame with nice projection, he showed a fast arm that produced 81-86 mph with feel for a 12/6 breaking ball.

Blake Brown (2023 SS, Montgomery, TX) had a solid game at the dish going a perfect 3-for-3 with two singles and a double. He moves well around the bases and also showed well in the infield with good defensive plays to both sides.

Jackson Blank (2023 3B, Magnolia, TX) put some pop on display when he stayed through the ball and roped a double to left-center field.

Camden Bates (2023 SS, Goldsby, OK) also showed consistently good contact as he picked up a double in his first at-bat before flying out to outfielders in both of his next two at-bats.

Jake Martinez (2021 C, Dickinson, TX) stayed with the trend of the gray lineup and picked up a well struck double in his first of just two at-bats in the game.


3-Gray vs 4-Green Game Highlights

6/16/2020

Adam Stephenson (2021 RHP, Mesquite, TX) a secondary outfielder, collected a pair of hits, including a line-drive triple to left-centerfield in a two-for-three day at the plate. 

Harrison Helton (2022 SS, The Woodlands, TX) showed solid rhythm and balance in his swing with the ability to barrel to the ball consistently. Collected a pair of hits in two at bats, scored a run and stole a base in game action.

Reese Gilmore (2020 RHP, Liberty Hill, TX) has a middle-to-pull side approach at the plate with lift in his swing, transferring his weight well into contact. Collected a double in a 1-for-2 day at the plate.

Cameron Cauley (2021 SS, Mont Belvieu, TX) showed high-level athleticism with quick hands at the plate and the ability to drive the ball to the backside of the field. Displays fluid defensive actions and has a real feel for playing the game.

Caden Mitchell (2023 C, Celina, TX) struck out four of the seven batters he faced over two innings of work on the mound. He did not allow a hit or a run on the afternoon and showed the feel to locate his fastball effectively.

Javier Hinojosa (2021 SS, Brownsville, TX) demonstrates the ability to drive the ball to the pull side with authority with a double to the base of the wall as part of a one-for-two day at the plate.

Jack Martinez (2021 RHP, Corpus Christi, TX) showed some degree of arm strength with a fastball that reached as high as 89-mph in two innings of work on the mound while striking out three.

 


7-Purple vs 8-Red Game Highlights

6/16/2020

Trea Verver (2021 OF, Cedar Park, TX) Consistently created hard, loud contact throughout the game showing an easy, compact path to contact. Doubled hard off the center field wall in his second at bat of the game.

Austin Shever (2021 RHP, Kingwood, TX) Released from a high three-quarters arm slot showing good feel for each edge of the plate topping at 81 mph. Also showed good feel for his curveball offering in the upper 60's. Shever worked four no hit innings while striking out six batters.

Benjamin Merriman (2023 OF, Austin, TX) The 2023 grad displayed present bat speed with the ability to throw barrel head to contact with intent. Doubled to left field in his second at bat of the game.

Cade Alpard (2021 C, Houston, TX) Alpard displayed quick hands through the zone with a smooth, repeatable line drive barrel plane. Collected two hits in game action including a triple in his first at bat.

Morgan Carruthers (2022 RHP, Willis, TX) The Willis native impressed at the plate showing a quick, compact path to contact with a linear barrel plane. Doubled down the third base line in his last at bat of the game.

Clayton Westbrook (2021 RHP, Spring, TX) Westbrook utilized a smooth, repeatable delivery with good arm speed through extension. Fastball exploded out of hand creating heavy actions to the plate in the upper 80's, topped at 89 mph. The 2021 grad also showed very good feel for his off-speed and consistently kept hitters off balance.


5-Navy vs 6-Orange Game Highlights

6/16/2020

Ian Rincon (2021 OF, Pasadena, TX)  The 2021 grad displayed excellent bat speed and generated very tight backspin off the barrel on a homerun to left field in his second at bat of the game.

Mauricio De Leon (2021 OF, Humble, TX) De Leon consistently created hard contact throughout the game utilizing a smooth, linear barrel plane. Collected two hits in game action including a triple to left center field.

Chase Pelter (2021 RHP, Houston, TX) Pelter displayed the ability to repeat his mechanics with a quick arm action through extension. Fastball generated good downward tilt through the zone topping at 86 mph. Also flashed tight 11/5 shape with his breaking ball in the low 70's.

James Lee (2021 RHP, Spring, TX) Lee allowed zero runs over his three innings of work. Primarily worked ahead of hitters with a fastball offering the created good running action to arm side in the low 80's, topped at 84 mph. Also flashed a tight breaking ball with late depth in the low 70's.

Gabriel Gruenewald (2021 OF, Houston, TX) The 2021 grad showed the ability to throw the barrel head with intent and generate loud contact when squared. Doubled to left center field in his second at bat of the game.

Hunter Roland (2021 RHP, Magnolia, TX) Worked two scoreless innings on the mound featuring a fastball that flashed sink with run up to 81 mph. Also impressed offensively showing good strength at contact on a double to the right center field gap.

Carson Queck (2022 OF, The Woodlands, TX) Tripled to right center field in his last at bat of the game showing a clean hand path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension.


Batting Practice Highlights

6/16/2020

Gabriel Herrera (2021 C, San Antonio, TX) showed plenty of bat speed in what was a loud performance in BP, swinging with intent to drive the baseball and shifting well to contact. The 2021 catcher has a strong, 6-foot-2 frame and can really impact the ball to the pull-side gap when squared. 

Kevin Sanchez (2022 3B, Las Vegas, NV) uses a lifted barrel plane to showcase plenty of power to the pull-side. The Las Vegas native put together a really strong round and used his quick hands to drive the ball with consistency. 

Sterling Lipscomb (2022 SS, Spokane, WA) executes a middle of the field approach and showcases plenty of strength in the hands at contact. Lipscomb repeats the swing well and has present bat speed with the ability to get the bat head out. 

Thorsen Kristufek (2021 OF, McKinney, TX) flashed some loud thump off the barrel during batting practice, consistently driving balls with authority to the pull-side. The rising-senior gets extended well at the point of contact and creates plenty of bat speed through the zone. 

Adam Stephenson (2021 RHP, Mesquite, TX) showcases good strength at contact and some serious jump to the pull-side when on time and squared. Stephenson has the strength to drive the ball to and through the gap.

Bryce Dwyer (2023 C, Spring, TX) swings the bat with intent to do damage, showing power to and through the pull-side gap throughout the round. Dwyer has present bat speed and was able to drive the ball with consistency. 

Cameron Cauley (2021 SS, Mont Belvieu, TX) has a loose and fluid stroke at the plate, showcasing present bat speed from the right-side of the plate. The Texas Tech commit shows excellent carry off the barrel when lifting to the pull-side. 

Ian Rincon (2021 OF, Pasadena, TX) put together a really strong round of batting practice, showcasing good bat speed and the ability to find the barrel with consistency. Rincon has a slightly lifted barrel plane and swings with intent to drive the baseball. 

Corbin Kinder (2021 2B, Houston, TX) has a simple load and the clears the hips well in his swing. The Houston native flashes good power to and through the pull-side gap. 

Alex Diaz (2021 C, Houston, TX) executes a middle of the field approach, flashing some present power to the pull-side when on time and squared up. Diaz has a simple, high-contact approach at the plate while repeating the swing with frequency. 

Hunter Porche (2021 OF, Houma, LA) executes an all fields approach at the plate, flashing some serious jump off the barrel with plenty of power potential. Porche swings with intent to do damage and has present bat speed from the right-side. 

Carson Queck (2022 OF, The Woodlands, TX) put together one of the loudest rounds of the day, driving the ball with authority over the fence in left field and showcasing plenty of juice to all fields. Queck has a strong frame with bat speed that allows for power to and through both gaps. 

Steele Bardwell (2021 RHP, Willis, TX) showed present bat speed at the plate, flashing some pull-side juice and swinging with intent to do damage. The Willis, Texas native finds the barrel with consistency. 

Clayton Westbrook (2021 RHP, Spring, TX) showed the ability to handle the barrel from both sides of the plate, creating the best gap-to-gap jump from the right-side. The switch hitter has present bat speed as well. 

Trea Verver (2021 OF, Cedar Park, TX) has a middle of the field to pull-side approach at the plate and shows good power to the pull-side line. Verver has the ability to get the bat head out with quick hands from the right-side of the plate. 

Misael Cantu (2021 C, Friendswood, TX) starts from a wide base and showcases present bat speed at the plate. The right-handed hitting catcher has some looseness to the hands flashes some serious jump off the barrel. 

Antonio Torres (2022 RHP, El Paso, TX) showcases present bat speed at the plate, with the ability to drive the ball to and through the pull-side gap. Torres has a simple swing and shows good strength at the point of contact. 

Spencer Boles (2022 OF, Midwest City, OK) showcased really smooth swing mechanics from the right-side of the plate, flashing pull-side jump when on time and squared. Boles shows feel for the barrel and swings with intent to drive the baseball. 

Liam Beausoleil (2021 OF, Liberty, TX) impacts the ball with power to and through both of the gaps. The Liberty, Texas native has present bat speed and uses the very obvious athleticism to get his hands extended and the bat head out front. 

Grayson Lincecum (2023 RHP, Houston, TX) showed the ability to drive the ball to all fields and has present bat speed from the right-side. Lincecum swings with intent to drive the baseball and flashed good feel for the barrel. 

Brayden Buchanan (2023 C, Austin, TX) showcases an advanced offensive approach and can really handle the barrel well. The Austin native has present strength in the 6-foot-1 frame and can impact the ball with ease through the middle of the field. 

Blake Brown (2023 SS, Montgomery, TX) has a direct path to contact with present barrel speed through the zone. Brown shows good feel for the barrel and flashes some serious pull-side juice from the right-side. 

 

 

 

 


1-Black vs 2-Col. Blue Game Highlights

6/16/2020

Perry Kyles (2021 OF, Tomball, TX) The 2021 grad showed good feel for the barrel with the ability to cover all parts of the zone. Consistently created sharp contact throughout the day picking up two hits in game action.

Gabriel Herrera (2021 C, San Antonio, TX) Herrera displayed good strength at contact with the ability to generate carry to the gap. Doubled to the opposite field gap in his second at bat of the game.

Jaxon Daigre (2021 2B, Pinehurst, TX) Utilized a simple, repeatable swing plane that resulted in a high contact rate. Proved to be a tough out at the plate collecting two hits including a double in his second at bat of the game.

Cooper Hrbacek (2021 RHP, Abilene, TX) The 2021 grad showed good arm speed through extension that generated heavy run through the zone in the mid to upper 80's, topped at 88 mph. Hrbacket also displayed solid feel for both his curveball and changeup offering in the low to mid 70's.

Dawson Overby (2021 OF, Mansfield, TX) Utilized a balanced approach at the plate with solid bat head control throughout the zone. Showed a knack for finding the barrel collecting two base hits in his last two trips to the plate.

Giancarlo Maldonado (2023 SS, Helotes, TX) The 2023 grad showed good bat speed through the zone that generated solid whip at extension. Flashed good carry to the opposite field gap tripling in his second at bat of the game.

Sterling Lipscomb (2022 SS, Spokane, WA) Flashed present bat speed through the zone with a line drive barrel plane. Tripled to right field in his last at bat of the day.

Jaxson Strohmeyer (2021 RHP, College Station, TX) The 2021 grad displayed good command with his fastball showing the ability to work to each edge of the plate, topped at 84 mph. The College Station native also showed the ability to keep hitters off balance utilizing a curveball/ changeup mix in the low 70's.
