Dalton Carnes is a 2022 OF/RHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from College Station, TX who attends College Station. Long, slender frame with plenty of room to fill out. Displayed present athleticism and quick twitch movements in recording a 6.61 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary outfielder with aggressive actions into and through the fielding process, fielding well off his front foot and carrying momentum through release. Very accurate throws from an over-the-top arm slot, staying on top and showing developing arm strength up to 83 MPH in drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a fairly simple operation, using a small side-step into a higher leg lift with athletic movements down the slope. Works from a higher 3/4 's arm slot, hides it well with short arm circle on the backside while showing the ability to fill up the strike zone consistently. Fastball movement stayed true while working in the mid-70s and topping out at 77 MPH in this look. Secondary offering is still in the developmental stage with varying shapes at 66 MPH. Right-handed hitter; balanced, even stance with high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger for timing. Middle-to-opposite field approach with a short, inside hand path and some present bat speed. Flashes the potential for pull-side power when on time and in sync. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and added strength. Excellent Student.
