Advanced Statistics

Splits, spray charts, and play-by-play breakdowns for every PG event — powered by DiamondKast scorecards.

What's New in Advanced Stats

Powerful new tools to measure, compare, and understand player performance like never before.

Verified & Unverified Stats

Each game is either verified (scored by PG staff) or unverified (scored publicly). Filter your stats to include only the games that match the data quality you want.

Dynamic Splits & Groupings

Break down stats by opponent commitment (D1, D2, D3), pitcher hand (L/R), velocity, ballpark, home/away, and more. Combine multiple groupings for deep analysis.

Advanced & Batted Ball Stats

Access ISO, BABIP, K%, BB%, Whiff%, and batted ball data like GB%, AIR%, PULL%, HR/FB alongside standard counting stats on every stats surface.

Batting Spray Chart

Visualize where you hit the ball on an interactive field diagram. Filter by pitch type, velocity, hit result, and season to identify tendencies and strengths.

My Players & Follow

Follow any player to track their stats in one place. Your followed players appear at the top of the Stats Hub so you never lose sight of who matters most.

PGScore Ranking

See how players rank at events with PGScore, a composite performance metric. View the contributing stats like hits, extra bases, RBI, walks, and strikeouts alongside the final score.

How It Works

Step-by-step guides to get the most out of every feature.

#
1Navigate to any Player Profile and scroll down to the Advanced Stats section.
2Click the "+ Add Grouping" button above the stats tables.
3Select one or more dimensions from the dropdown - like Opponent Hand (L/R), Opponent Commitment (D1, D2, D3), Velocity, Ballpark, or Home/Away.
4Click "Apply Groupings". Your stats will break into separate rows for each combination (e.g., "vs D1 | vs L" and "vs D1 | vs R").
5Remove any grouping by clicking the × on its chip, or click "Clear All" to reset.

Advanced stats go beyond traditional counting numbers to measure how a player performs, not just what they produce.

ISO Isolated Power - measures raw power. SLG minus AVG. Higher = more extra-base hits.
BABIP Batting Average on Balls In Play - how often batted balls (excluding HR and K) fall for hits. League average is ~.300.
K% Strikeout Rate - strikeouts per plate appearance. Lower is better for hitters.
BB% Walk Rate - walks per plate appearance. Higher means better plate discipline.
Whiff% Whiff Rate - swings and misses divided by total swings. Lower is better for hitters.
GO/AO Ground Out to Air Out ratio - measures batted ball tendency. Below 1.0 = more fly balls.

#
1On any Player Profile, look for the Batting Spray Chart thumbnail in the left sidebar of the Advanced Stats section.
2Click the thumbnail to open the full spray chart in a modal overlay.
3Use the filters to narrow by hit type (Air/Fly/Line/Ground), result (XBH/Single/Out), or pitch type (Fastball/CB-SL/Changeup).
4Adjust the velocity slider to see where a player hits against different pitch speeds.
5Toggle between percentages and counts to see distribution vs. volume.

Every game is designated as either Verified or Unverified. A game cannot be both. Each game produces one set of stats per player.

Verified games have an official Perfect Game scorekeeper. When a PG staffer scores the game, all players receive their stats from that scorecard.

Unverified games are scored publicly by parents or coaches. How stats are assigned depends on how many scorecards exist:

  • Two scorecards from different teams - each player gets stats from their own team's scorekeeper. Your batting stats come from your team's scorecard, and your pitching stats come from your team's scorecard as well.
  • One scorecard - all players in the game receive stats from that single scorecard, regardless of which team submitted it.

Every stats page includes a three-option filter:

  • All - includes games from both categories
  • Verified - only PG staff-scored games
  • Unverified - only publicly-scored games

The filter controls which games are included in your totals. You always receive one set of stats per game.

PGScore is a composite metric that ranks player performance at events. It rewards productive offense and penalizes strikeouts.

On the Top Performers and Daily Game Leaders pages, you will see each player's PGScore alongside the individual stats that contribute to it: runs, hits, doubles, triples, home runs, RBI, stolen bases, walks, sacrifices, and strikeouts. This lets you understand exactly what drove a player's ranking.

Higher PGScores indicate more productive overall performances at the event.
