Roanan Cason (2024 C, Portland, OR) showed some potential on the bump, striking out four over two shutout frames. The right-hander has a solid fastball with a pair of developing breaking balls. Fastball ran up to 82 mph with subtle life up in the zone, sat 79-80 mph. Showed some feel for a mid-60s curveball with a bit of depth and 11-5 shape. Also flashed a low-70s changeup, though it lacked much firm shape and fade. Has potential with good arm strength on the mound and behind the plate. Throws with conviction. Has room to fill out and develop physically. Uncommitted for the 2024 class. 

Isaiah Najera (2024 OF, Whittier, CA) impressed on both sides of the ball. Opened eyes with a diving grab in left field in the first innings. Hustled to his right to track the ball, showed good speed and range to cover ground. Gets consistent jumps in the outfield. At the plate, Najera creates solid bat speed from a compact right-handed swing. Stays short and stays on plane to drive it to his pull side. Simple hands and approach, doesn't look overmatched in the box. Showcased his skills on both sides, remains uncommitted for the 2024 class. 

Tommy Marsh (2023 3B, Englewood, CO) was another loud performer on both sides. The Tulane commit finished his day going 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and pitched three shutout innings with seven strikeouts. Marsh stands out physically at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds with more room to fill out. Has present strength and quality bat speed. Showed the ability to drive the ball to the pull-side gap consistently. Has some untapped potential on the bump, ran the fastball up to 86 mph and sat 83-84 mph with some sink. Feel for spin stood out. Threw a potent 67-68 mph curveball that showed 11-5 shape and depth. Forced plenty of whiffs via his two-pitch mix from a high three-quarter slot. Marsh is a physical two-way talent with upside. 

Anthony Lovato (2022 OF, Chula Vista, CA) stung a double deep to right-center field his first time up and followed it up with more hard contact. Good size and strength that translates in game. Pounces on mistakes in the zone with strong hands and loft in the path. Showed a good feel to the pull side and tapped into some of his raw power. Good strength and size with more in store as he continues to develop. Touched 73 mph on the bump in relief. Remains an uncommitted bat to keep a close eye on for the 2022 class. 

Mason Shulman (2024 OF, Calabasas, CA) showcased a smooth right-handed stroke at the plate. Shulman laced an impressive double to the gap his first time up. Stays level and controlled with solid barrel control. Makes adjustments with each plate appearance and performed well on both sides. Has some quickness and burst out of the box. Uncommitted for the 2024 class. 

Lukas Dawson (2023 SS, Escondido, CA) opened eyes with his physical frame and intriguing power at the plate. Made some of the loudest contact on the day with his drive to deep left field for a sacrifice fly. Present strength with more in store. Compact right-handed swing. Stays short and creates good strength out front with steady hands through the zone. Gets the barrel head out front with solid extension. Showed a strong arm to make a pair of plays deep in the hole at shortstop. Enticing size and overall profile that remains uncommitted for the 2023 class. 

Wren Woods (2025 SS, Palos Verdes Estates, CA) showed a good feel for the barrel. Woods laced hits to the pull side with some intent and quickness in the path. Stays short to the ball with simple hands. Showed strength in batting practice that translated in game, uses strong levers to get extended and shoot to the pull. Solid barrel control and frequency over the past two days. Good size with more in store as he develops. Another name to keep a eye on for the 2025 class. 

Daniel Aguilera (2023 SS, Camarillo, CA) flashed the leather at shortstop on multiple occasions. Aguilera's athleticism was on full display showing crisp lateral movements and a strong arm to make plays deep in the hole consistently. He moves well to either side and makes throws from different arm slots. His feel for the glove stood out, and his compact right-handed swing has some potential. Able to drive it to both fields when his timing is down, quick left leg trigger with solid bat speed. Pay attention to this uncommitted 2023 product. 


2-GOLD VS 3-GRAY

Mitchell Birdsall (2022, MIF, San Jose, CA) continues to show off his athleticism defensively and offensively. Showed a reliable glove with the ability to make the routine plays. Offensively continued to square the ball up. Runs well and is aggressive on the bases, always looking to make something happen.

 

Ethan Laghaei (2023, OF, Huntington Beach, CA) smashed a ball to rightfield that one hopped the fence. Features a strong athletic build that plays well, has a quick level swing with good bat speed. Let the ball get deep and showed off his power to the opposite side of the diamond.

 

CJ Hollister (2024, OF, Buellton, CA) smoked the ball down the leftfield line for a double. Displayed quick hands with a short compact swing that got through the zone in a hurry. Has good bat speed with the ability to square the ball up.

 

Miles Hughes (2022, LHP, Carson, CA) threw a solid 3 innings, struck out eight batters and did not allow any hits. Hughes works quickly, attacked hitters early and threw a lot of strikes. Worked a solid two pitch mix that created a lot of swing and misses.


4-GREEN VS 5-MAROON

Mateo Garcia (2022, 2B, Turlock, CA) showed off his athleticism in the middle infield. Made a sweet dining catch behind the second base bag. Displayed a reliable glove with the ability to make the routine play and the highlight reel plays. Moves well laterally, hustsles and has a quick transfer and release.

 

Joshua Hartman (2024, C, San Diego, CA) was solid behind the dish, showed off his cannon behind the dish. Hosed a runner trying to steal second base. Has the ability and arm strength to throw from his feet and his knees. Also swung the bat well, has a short compact swing with good bat speed.

 

Jackson Snitko (2022, 1B, Tustin, CA) crushed the ball in the left center gap for a double. Has a quick level swing that stays long through the zone. Also made some nice plays at first base, has good hands and moves well laterally.

 

Trevor Kazahaya (2023, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) consistently squared the ball up. Has a violent swing with great bat speed. Kazahaya saw the ball well, waited for his pitch and showed the ability to hit the ball well to all fields.

 

Juan Martinez (2022, 3B, Oak Hills, CA) crushed the ball deep left center for a double. Has a short compact swing with good bat speed. Showed his potential pull side pop. Also played some great plays at third base.

Grant Yzermans (2023, OF, Murrieta, CA) has a cannon, hosed a runner trying to score from secondbase. Features a strong athletic frame that plays well, showed off his speed on the bases, stole third and home on the same passed ball.  Also hit the ball well today, ended his day 2-for-4.

 

Dante Caiati (2024, MIF, Petaluma, CA) crushed the ball to deep leftfield for a double. Has a short compact swing with good bat speed. Also made some great plays defensively, showed a reliable glove with the ability to make the routine plays.

 

Charles Combs (2022, RHP, Temecula, CA) threw a solid 3 innings, struck out 7 batters and only gave up 3 hits. The fastball sat 80-83 mph topping out at 86 mph. Combs worked quickly, threw strikes and attacked the batters creating a lot of swing and misses.

 

Jake Fuentes (2023, 3B, Tustin, CA) features a lean athletic build. Swung the bat well, ended his day 2-for-3. Smashed the ball over the left fielder’s head for a double. Has a quick compact swing with good bat speed.

 

Daniel Aguilera (2023, SS, Camarillo, CA) showed off his athleticism at shortstop today, moved well laterally. Displayed a reliable glove with the ability to make the routine play and the highlight reel plays. Has a good arm with a quick transfer and release. Hits the ball well to all fields, sat bat and drove the ball to rightfield to score a run.

 


Batting Practice Highlights

10/23/2021

Grant Yzermans (2023 OF, Murrieta, CA) showed off a solid all-around hit tool. Short-levered right-handed swing that has strength to it. Generated leverage to pullside throughout his BP session and slots the barrel well through the zone.

Daniel Aguilera (2023 SS, Camarillo, CA) put on a show throughout his BP session. Swings with a simple load and a slight toe-tap timing mechanism. There's solid intent in the swing and can drive the ball well to pullside.

Jack Alcayaga (2022 C, Sonoma, CA) found the barrel often and has a clean swing. Showed strength throughout his round and could lift the ball well. Up the middle approach but has impressive raw power to pullside.

Reed Woodland (2023 C, Rolling Hills Estates, CA) showed good use of the whole field and his ball has solid backspin off the bat. Good hand strength and swings with solid intent. He frequently found the barrel and has nice juice from the right-hand side.

Henry Jeong (2023 C, Irvine, CA) has a wide base and stays balanced throughout his swing. Shows solid bat speed and swings with leverage. Drives the ball well up the middle with good backspin.

Ethan Laghaei (2023 OF, Huntington Beach, CA) has good bat speed and a wide base in his swing. It's a bit of a unique operation but he makes it work well. Good intent to pullside and has good present strength.

Mitchell Birdsall (2022 C, San Jose, CA) is a physical hitter with good athleticism in the box. Swings with impressive leverage and intent to pullside. Has a slight leg lift in his set up and explodes through the ball with solid bat speed.

Cole Chamberlain (2024 C, Novato, CA) has an open stance with a simple timing mechanism and is very short to the ball. Compact swing and should continue to add power as he fills out. Sprayed liners all over the field in his BP session.

Makani Tanaka (2022 OF, Honolulu, HI) has fluid swing and good present raw power. Shows barrel control and leverage throughout the display he put on in BP. Solid left-handed juice here.

Kory Chu (2023 3B, Kaneohe, HI) laced liners all over the field with a simple up the middle approach. Quick hands and bat speed, solid hit tool. Shows some developing raw power as well.

Juan Martinez (2022 1B, Oak Hills, CA) shows a simple stride and is always on time when the pitch gets to him. Made loud contact all round with solid barrel control. Swing has solid leverage to pullside and can do damage when it's in his wheelhouse.

Aaron Smollins (2023 OF, Santa Monica, CA) went up the middle frequently in his BP round. Inside out contact mostly and keeps the bat head on plane well. Should continue to add power as he adds to his projectable frame.

Will Paxton (2024 SS, Tehachapi, CA) gets squared up well pre-load and has impressive present bat speed. He drives the ball well to his pullside with authority. Short to the ball and had a strong overall BP round.

Nick Renna (2023 3B, Trabuco Canyon, CA) is physically built and has a fluid swing. Slight toe tap start with a simple load. Good bat speed and strength to this swing. Was generally short the ball as well.

Robert Read (2022 1B, Foothill Ranch, CA) should continue to add power to his already strong swing once he fills out. Good projection here, utilizes his lower half well and comes through the slot with a full extension finish. Solid round with plenty of loud barrels.

Justin Roulston (2022 OF, Los Angeles, CA) had an up the middle approach with good bat speed. Solid present strength and can really drive the ball when he opens up. Simple stride with easy juice. Roulston is committed to Long Beach State.

 


Maroon Vs. Navy Highlights

10/23/2021

Daniel Suarez (2023 LHP, Manhattan Beach, CA) had a solid outing on the bump. The southpaw struck out four over three shutout innings. Showcased a solid two-pitch mix. Fastball topped 80 mph and sat consistently in the mid-70s. Showed good feel for a mid-60s curveball with 1-7 shape. Good feel for spin in any count, forced plenty of whiffs and Commanded the zone well. Has some physical traits to build upon from a projectable 6-foot-3 frame. Uncommitted for the 2023 class. 

Jackson Snitko (2022 1B, Tustin, CA) went 2-for-2 with an RBI double at the plate and was one of the top performers of the day. Stays short with a compact right-handed swing. Makes solid pull-side contact with present bat speed. Has some size to his frame that can be tapped into at the next level. Uncommitted name to keep an eye on for the 2022 class. 

Sean Youngerman (2022 RHP, Woodlands Hills, CA) was effective in relief. The right-hander went three shoutout frames, striking out six in the process. Fastball sat 84-85 mph and topped out at 86 mph with slight arm-side run. Paired his heat with a tight mid-70s slider with some bite. Missed plenty of barrels from a compact, high three-quarter delivery. Good arm speed and physicality, gets downhill and attacked the zone. Keep a close eye on this uncommitted 2022 product. 

Tyler Wilson (2023 LHP, Huntington Beach, CA) showcased some potential on the bump. The southpaw struck out eight over three shutout relief innings. Fastball ran up to 83 mph to go along with a curveball and changeup. Took some off the changeup, sat in the low-70s with subtle shape and fade. Flashed a low-60s curveball that flashed some depth and 1-7 shape for whiffs. Solid pitchability, good feel for his arsenal. Challenged hitters up in the zone. Has room to add in his frame as well. Uncommitted for the 2023 class. 

Matthew Krause (2024 OF, Hermosa Beach, CA) laced a pair of hard-hit balls up the middle. Finished 2-for-3 and showcased a solid right-handed swing. Strong, physical frame with room for added strength. Uses strong hands to shoot through the zone. Can get into his legs more as he physically develops, but the strength is present and put it on display. Remains uncommitted for the 2024 class. 

Lucas Scott (2023 SS, Long Beach, CA) held his own at shortstop, showing crisp motions and a strong arm. Moves well laterally with quick footwork and acceleration to charge the ball. Solid glove-to-hand transfers, made a pair of impressive plays deep in the hole. Good defensive skillset. Swing has solid contact from the right side. Uncommitted for the 2023 class. 


3-GRAY VS 4-GREEN HIGHLIGHTS

10/23/2021

Roni Chutke (2022, Carlsbad, CA) pitched a solid 3 innings, struck out 4 batters and did not allow any hits. Features a lean athletic build with plenty of room to add more strength. The fastball 80-83 mph topping out at 85 mph.

 

Mitchell Birdsall (2022, San Jose, CA) features a strong lean athletic build that plays well behind the dish. Swung the bat well, ended the day 2-for-3. Has a quick compact swing with good bat speed.

 

Brandon Luu (2023, Irvine, CA) the Arizona State Commit came in and shut it down, had 8 strike outs and only allowed 2 hits. The fastball sat 85-86 mph topping out at 88 mph. He threw a lot of strikes and attacked hitters early.

 

Makani Tanaka (2022, Honolulu, HI) swung the bat well, showed off his power potential to his pull side, just missed hitting the ball out. Tanaka has a violent compact swing with great bat speed.

 

Logen Seeger (2023, Thousand Oaks, CA) crushed the ball over the center fielders head for a double. Has a short compact swing with good bat speed that stays long through the zone. Features a lean athletic build, with plenty of room to add more muscle.
