Brock Burton (2017 2B, Phoenix, AZ) is a loose and athletic lefthanded hitter who does a nice job of getting the barrel thorugh the zone and connected for a hard line drive double to the opposite field gap in his final at-bat of the game.

Tyler Quinn (2017 OF, Gilbert, AZ) showed well on both sides of the ball, pitching the last two innings where he topped out at 82 mph with a full arm action with ability to work down in the zone. He also connected for a single in his first at-bat before coming around to score the second run for Purple.

Jarryd Samsing (2017 OF, Litchfield Park, AZ) had a nice day at the plate for Purple as he went 2-2 with two well stuck and barreled up balls. In his first trip to the plate Samsing showed off his quick hands on a triple to his pull side, staying short to the ball while showing ability to turn on balls. His second at-bat resulted in a another single, his second base hit of the game.

After showing off his arm strength from both the outfield and infield yesterday, righthander Jarrett Diego (JD) Brooks (2017 3B, Las Vegas, NV) showed similar interesting velocity off the mound in today’s game. Strongly built, Brooks showed the best velocity of the game as he ran his fastball up to 86 mph with solid running life when down in the zone.

Similar to Tyler Quinn above, Joey Georgini (2018 3B, Casa Grande, AZ) had a nice all around day both with the stick and on the mound. At the plate Georgini showed nice strength to his pull side with ability to barrel the pitch down in the zone, connecting for a two base hit. On the mound he ran his fastball up to 84 mph with a quick arm and showed a swing and miss slider up to 74 mph which he used to help face the minimum of just six batters in his two innings.

Jason Katz (2017 LHP, Glendale, AZ) put together a multi-hit game for the Navy squad as he employed his middle of the field approach and twice squared up line drives to the middle of the field with a line drive swing plane.

Vance Martinez (2017 C, Midland, TX) showed the ability to turn on an inside pitch driving a ball over the left fielder's head for a double.

Jackie Plashkes (2018 C, Rancho Santa Fe, CA) displayed hard pull side contact for a double down the left field line.

Tallon Yerbury (2017 OF, Puyallup, Puyallup) stays short and quick to the baseball, was 3 for 3 on the day including a ground rule double to left field.  

Jake Jones (2017 RHP, Oak Forest, IL) long lean projectable build, fastball up to 83 MPH with good downward bite low in the zone.

Nick Tiedemann (2018 SS, Chandler, AZ) showed command of three pitches, fastball up to 82 MPH, good depth on curveball, developing changeup.

Hunter Jump (2017 3B, Aliso Viejo, CA) fastball topped out at 84 MPH with good life at the plate, mixed in an 11/5 curveball that showed depth.  

Brendan Siriani (2017 C, Carlsbad, CA) has strength in his 5-foot-9, 175 pound frame. The junior catcher showed good bat speed and quick hands, wrists in turning on an inside fastball and driving the pitch into left field for a double.

Jakob Benger (2017 OF, Phoenix, AZ) also displayed quick hands and some feel for the barrel at the plate. The 5-foot-10, 175 pound outfielder whipped the bat head out quickly and hit a pitch down the first base line for a well-struck double.

Stone Streeter (2017 3B, Mead, CO) saw the ball very well and had good timing at the plate. The lefthnaded hitting infielder had three hits on the day. Streeter displayed a nice, level swing plane and good feel for the barrel, creating solid, line-drive contact to both the opposite field and pullside.

Nate Young (2017 C, Peoria, AZ) struck out four batters in his three innings of work. The primary catcher showed solid feelfor his delivery, threw plenty of strikes, and didn’t allow a hit. The strong-bodied junior has a heavy 77-79 mph fastball and confidence in a deceptive 70-73 mph changeup that kept hitters off balance.

Marcus Lydon (2017 MIF, Eugene, OR) struck out three hitters out of the bullpen. The primary infielder has good arm strength and he ran his fastball up to 83 mph. He also mixed in a quality breaking ball with late depth and action from his ¾’s arm slot. 

Mike Schreiber (2019 RHP, Rancho Santa Fe, CA) struck out four batters in his four innings pitched. Schrieber has a 75-78 mph fastball and did a solid job of locating that and his 64-66 mph curveball, 71 mph slider, and 70 mph changeup. He has a loose, arm-action from a 3/4 arm slot and competed well.

Trey Winget (2017 OF, Washington, UT) is a primary outfielder, but he also showed good armspeed and arm strength off of the mound. The 6-foot-1, 175 pounder ran his fastball up to 83 mph and the pitch had good running action. He struck out one batter in his one inning of relief work. Winget also made a nice diving play in left field.

Dylan Hochstatter (2018 1B, Anthem, AZ) has good present strength in his 6-foot-0, 215 pound frame. The burly first baseman hit a double to right center field, showing solid impact strength off of the barrel.

Tyler Kelly (2018 3B, Cottonwood, AZ) has a quick arm and a compact 3/4 arm-action. The athletic righty ran his fastball up to 80 mph and he showed solid command of the pitch for a secondary pitcher. He also flashes a quality 11/5 curveball in the mid-60s.

Jake Haze (2018 SS, Highlands Ranch, CO) is a compactly-built lefthanded hitter with solid instincts and pitch tracking while in the batter's box. Haze has an advanced approach and a fluid swing from the left side with natural loft. Haze went 2-for-3 with a double off of the right field fence. He also swiped a base.

The following players stood out during the Purple vs Red game at the National Underclass West Showcase.

Sam Wibbels (2019 RHP, Hastings, NE) showed solid feel for 3 pitches today with his fastball topping at 86, he also mixed in a curveball that is developing and showed good depth at times at 72.  He also had good feel for a 78 MPH change up.

Connor Denning (2017 MIF, Phoenix, AZ) topped at 85 with his fastball showing good arm speed, he also mixed in a solid 11/5 curveball with good bite and depth.

John Patrick (JP) Flores (2017 2B, Valencia, CA) showed good speed on the bases stealing two bases after a single to the opposite field.  He also shows solid defensive tools with solid foot work and soft hands.

Jackie Plashkes (2018 C, Rancho Santa Fe, CA) showed an aggressive approach at the plate going 2 for 2 with two runs scored, he also stole a base.

Thomas Bateman (2018 SS, Cedar Hills, UT) had a hard double on a short, compact swing with a middle of the field approach.

Brendan Siriani (2017 C, Carlsbad, CA)  showed good extension and natural lift on swing on his double to left center field.

Chase Silseth (2018 C, Farmington, NM) short, quick arm action on the mound, gets on top of fastball on his simple delivery, good depth on curveball with 12/6 shape.

Deylan Pigford (2018 OF, Farmington, NM) quick swing from the left side, was good for three hard hits to right field, does a nice job of getting the barrel moving through the zone.

Jarrett Diego (JD) Brooks (2017 3B, Las Vegas, NV) short, quick swing for hard double down the left field line, present strength in swing.

Garrett Evans (2018 OF, Scottsdale, AZ) showed good pull side contact throughout day including a double down the the left field line.

Jacob Terao (2017 C, Seattle, WA) has good presence at the plate with a mature approach, showed separation and bat speed on hard double.

Vincent Martin (2018 3B, Chandler, AZ) was up to 84 MPH on the mound with full and loose arm action, clean throughout delivery.  Also had two hits on the day including a double and an RBI, natural lift at the point of contact.  

Nicholson Garrett (2017 SS, Draper, UT) ball carries off his bat and he made hard consistent contact at the plate.

Jake Wolfe (2018 C, Gilbert, AZ) showed good bat speed at the plate with a short swing and made hard contact at the plate. 

Tyler DeJesus (2018 1B, Glendale, AZ) hit from an upright stance with a short compact swing.

Jacob Terao (2017 C, Seattle, WA) showed natural lift in his swing and the ball jumps off his bat.

Marcus Lydon (2017 MIF, Eugene, OR) showed good strength in his swing with a homerun during BP and makes hard contact at the plate.

Brock Burton (2017 2B, Phoenix, AZ) made good contact at the plate with a fluid swing and good extension.

Connor Denning (2017 MIF, Phoenix, AZ) showed good strength in his hands with gap to gap pop.

Justice Panton (2018 SS, Phoenix, AZ) showed quick hands at the plate with a line drive swing plane and projects well at the plate.

Hunter Jump (2017 3B, Aliso Viejo, CA) made hard line drive contact with good bat speed and power in his bat.

Tyler Kelly (2018 3B, Cottonwood, AZ) showed a line drive swing plane and showed good bat speed at the plate.
