Seth Betts is a 2017 2B/3B with a 5-8 125 lb. frame from St George, UT who attends Desert Hills HS. Slender build and young look with plenty of room to fill out as he continues to mature physically and put on additionally muscle. Profiles well as middle infielder with size. Posted a 7.65 60-yard dash. From the infield, showed solid actions while moving light on his feet. Hands play at the ball with clean transfers and developing quickness. Showed arm strength from a lower arm slot. Showed good feel and instincts defensively during games. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a slightly open, upright and narrow stance. Developing lower half and strength in swing, flashed some barrel tilt. On the mound, throws from a lower 3/4 arm slot with some sinking and running action on fastball. Slider sweeps across zone with solid horizontal slice and movement, showed ability to backdoor left-handed hitters. Changeup has slight fade and dives off late in zone. Has deception throughout delivery and does a nice job of changing speeds. Excellent student.
