Jack Basse is a 2017 OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Fairfax Station, VA who attends Bishop O'Connell HS. Has a medium frame and strong build, clear sign of present strength. Posted a 6.99 60-yard dash. From the outfield, moves to and through the baseball well with good instincts and actions. Has a long, loose arm action on throws with quick arm speed from an over the top arm slot. Throws have solid carry to target base. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a wide base, slightly open stance, and a lower hand set. Swing starts with a high leg lift trigger, hands extend back toward catcher on load. Showed good bat speed and extension through the baseball. Ball comes off the barrel well with solid carry and developing natural lift at the point of contact. Could see more consistent barrels as he continues to further improve on timing. Good student.
