Deylan Pigford is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Farmington, NM who attends Piedra Vista HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front, gets lower half going well and incorporates into release with big crow hop, nice momentum heading into release, fast arm and gets on top of throws, shows big arm strength and carry out of the hand and accuracy to intended base. Also pitched, short and compact arm action with a three-quarters arm slot, direction delivery and creates some separation between half during drive and release. Shows arm speed through the back, fastball topped out at 82 mph, upright finish, flashed an 11-5 shaped curveball at 67 mph. Switch-hitter, similar approach and results from both sides. Begins with an upright and slightly open stance and a high back elbow in the box, turns the barrel slightly better from this side, loose and extended swing path and shows quickness to hands, shows fluidity through the zone. Balanced and even stance from the right side, line drive swing plane, sound mechanics and repeats them well, steady contact to the pull side. Good student.
