NORTHWEST REGION (WA, OR, ID, WY, AK, MT)

The Northwest Region continues its recent pattern of providing plenty of high ceiling high school talent to the national rankings despite having easily the smallest population base of any of the PG regions.  The 2025 class features five Perfect Game All-Americans, all of whom are ranked among the top 35 seniors in the country and three are among the top 12; 2nd ranked Xavier Neyens, 9th ranked Kruz Schoolcraft and 12th ranked Slate De Brun.

Let by two-way All-American standout Mason Pike and highly ranked 2027 shortstop Brayden Landry, Puyallup High School (Wash.) is the only team from the region in the Perfect Game Pre-Season Top 50, checking in at an impressive 10th overall.

C – Teagan Scott (Jr., South Salem HS, Ore.)

Scott was a 2023 PG 14U Select Festival player and is the top ranked junior in Oregon at 139th overall nationally.  The right-handed hitter led the state in hitting as a sophomore at .521-2-32 while also drawing 32 walks for a .655 OB% and was named first team All-State as well.  Scott has a strong 5-11/195 build and all the physical tools to stay behind the plate defensively.  He is committed to Oregon State.

1B – Brock Silvers (Sr., Middleton Academy, Idaho)

Silvers looks like a first baseman with his long and still projectable 6-5/210 build and he’s played plenty of third base and can also play left field.  He’s a strong right-handed hitter who has notably hit better in the summers with wood bats (.395 in 38 PG games) than he has in the springs in Idaho.  The 104th ranked player in the 2025 class nationally, Silvers is signed with South Florida.

MIF – Teddy Tokheim (Sr., Lakeside HS, Wash.)

The 119th ranked player nationally in the 2025 class, Tokheim projects more as a third baseman at the next level but will be positioned in the middle of the field on this team.  Much like his fellow All-Region middle infielder, Tokheim is an offensive first prospect and has hit .452-5-49 in 46 PG games over the last three years.  A 6-3/200 right-handed hitter, Tokheim is signed with Stanford.

MIF – Finn Leach (Sr., Nathan Hale HS, Wash.)

Leach is a 6-1/195 switch-hitter who really stands out with his bat and offensive potential.  He’s hit pretty much everywhere during his high school career, including .420 as a sophomore and .493 as a junior at Nathan Hale HS and .407 with a 49:20 walk to strikeout ratio in almost 200 PG career at-bats.  An Arizona State signee, Leach is the 146th ranked player in the PG 2025 class rankings and fourth in the state of Washington

3B – Xavier Neyens (Sr., Mount Vernon HS, Wash.)

Neyens debuted as a catcher at the 2021 PG Select Festival but shortly afterwards transitioned to left side infield, where he is now the second ranked player nationally in the 2025 class behind another third baseman with a very similar profile in Ethan Holliday.  Neyens hit .443-3-24 as a junior at Mount Vernon HS while also going 7-0, 1.35 on the mound, where he tops out at 94 mph.  He is signed with Oregon State.

OF – Will Cahill (Sr., Seattle Prep, Wash.)

Cahill is a strong-bodied 6-2/205 lefthanded hitting outfielder with a right field throwing arm and very promising power at the plate.  He is signed with Washington.

OF – Gabriel Coltman (Sr., Sunset HS, Ore.)

Coltman and Silver are interchangeable on the All-Region team but the 6-5/235 Coltman is very athletic for his size with 6.8 speed and a 90 mph throwing arm.  An immensely strong right-handed hitter, Coltman can hit the ball as far as anyone in the country and is well known at national home run hitting contests.  He’s ranked 140th in the PG national rankings and is signed with South Carolina-Upstate.

OF –  Slater de Brun (Sr., Summit HS, Ore.)

de Brun gets tons of comparisons to undersized and athletically dynamic first round outfielders such as Corbin Carroll and Slade Caldwell and it’s easy to see the similarities.  The left-handed hitting de Brun is a lightning quick 6.39 runner whose speed seems to play up in games and projects as a plus defender in centerfield.  He’s one of the youngest top 2025 prospects and is signed with Vanderbilt.

LHP Jonah Aase (Sr., Meridian HS, Wash.)

Aase is a very polished southpaw who has a full four-pitch mix including a fastball that tops out at 91 mph from an easy low-effort delivery.  He struck out 32 in 16 innings during 2024 in PG play and was named the Most Valuable Player at the 17U Ultimate Baseball Championship-West.  The 286th ranked player in the 2025 class nationally, Aase is signed with Louisiana State.

RHP Bryce Collins (Jr., Kelso HS, Wash.)

Collins is a very projectable 6-2/190 right-hander who already works in the 88-91 mph range with a low 80’s slider and upper 70’s change up.  A quality athlete who also plays the outfield, Collins is committed to Mississippi and is ranked 298th nationally in the 2026 class.

RHP River Hamilton (Sr., Sam Barlow HS, Ore.)

Hamilton was one of the most improved pitchers in the country in 2024 and ended the year as the 30th ranked player in the 2025 class and the sixth ranked right-handed pitcher.  He was up to 95 mph at the PG All-American Classic and has an advanced feel for switching between a slider and curveball and throwing strikes with all his pitches.  Hamilton is signed with Louisiana State.

RHP Eli Herst (Jr., Seattle Academy, Wash.)

Herst is a 6-5/205 right hander who just turned 17 years old but is already throwing 90 mph with lots of polish to his upper 70’s slider and low 80’s change up.  The 157th ranked pitcher in the 2026 class and top ranked Washington junior, Herst is committed to Vanderbilt.

LHP Kruz Schoolcraft (Sr., Sunset HS, Ore.)

Schoolcraft is the second ranked pitcher in the 2025 class and the top ranked left-hander.  Originally a member of the 2026 class, the 6-8/230 Schoolcraft completely dominated Oregon high school baseball in 2024, posting a 9-0, 0.47 record with 146 strikeouts in 71 innings while also hitting .506-7-30 at the plate.  He pitches in the 93-97 mph range with a big swing and miss slider and is signed with Tennessee.

UT   Mason Pike (Sr., Puyallup HS, Wash.)

Pike started his high school and PG careers as more of a primary shortstop but his big arm has made him a legit two-way guy at the college level who could go either way as a professional.  An Oregon State signee and PG All-American, Pike went 8-0, 1.06 with 83 strikeouts in 59 innings as a junior and has been up to 96 mph off the mound.  A switch-hitter at the plate, he hit .431 as a junior and hit .500-0-7 at the season-opening 2025 MLK West Championship in January.

Northwest Region Top Tools

Best Hitter for Average: Slater de Brun (Sr., Summit HS, Ore.)

de Brun hit .413-3-13 with 22 walks in 25 games in 2024 PG play, coming on the heels of his 2023 season that saw him hit .462-0-6 with 13 walks in 16 games.  He’s going to be a high average/high on-base percentage top of the order hitter at the next level right away.

Best Hitter for Power: Xavier Neyens (Sr., Mount Vernon HS, Wash.)

While Gabriel Coltman may have more base raw power, Neyens power translates best in games and actually comes out better with wood bats than metal bats.  The left-handed hitter shows easy gap to gap middle of the field power and can hit the ball just as far to left center field as to the pull side.

Best Runner: Slater de Brun (Sr., Summit HS, Ore.)

de Brun ranks among the most impactful speed players in the country, with a great combination of first step quickness and top end speed.  That speed could be most impactful on the offensive side given how often he projects to get on base with his offensive skill set.

Best Defensive Catcher: Teagan Scott (Jr., South Salem HS, Ore.)

Scott’s arm strength stands out defensively but he’s also a quality athlete with good lower half quickness and flexibility.

Best Defensive Infielder: Rilen Niclai (Jr., Service HS, Alaska)

Niclai’s brother, Coen, is a freshman slugging catcher at Oregon and was the 15th round pick of the Marlins in the 2024 draft.  Younger brother Rilen is a completely different type of athlete as a smooth and quick strong-armed shortstop but might end up being just as good of player in the long run.

Best Defensive Outfielder: Slater de Brun (Sr., Summit HS, Ore.)

There are few players in the country who bring de Brun’s defensive tools to the table at any position.  He has outstanding first step quickness to get jumps and 6.39 speed to close on balls.  He also has a 94 mph outfield arm.

Best Defensive Arm: Mason Pike (Sr., Puyallup HS, Wash.)

Pike threw 97 in the infield at the PG National Showcase and his arm strength is as obvious in games as it is in drills.  Xavier Neyens could be the top defensive arm in some other regions around the country.

Best Fastball: Kruz Schoolcraft (Sr., Sunset HS, Ore.)

Schoolcraft’s 94-97 mph fastball plays up with his 6-8 height and low and very extended release point.  It’s not out of the question that he could even add some velocity as he’s still 17-years old and is a high-level overall athlete.

Best Off-Speed Stuff: River Hamilton (Sr., Sam Barlow HS, Ore.)

Hamilton throws both his curveball and slider with 2,500 rpm spin and adds and subtracts on them with maturity and feel.  He also has a low 80’s change up that should develop into a quality fourth pitch as he uses it more.

Best Pitchability: River Hamilton (Sr., Sam Barlow HS, Ore.)

Hamilton threw in three PG tournaments in 2024 and was named the Most Valuable Pitcher in all three, striking out 45 hitters in 24 innings while only allowing 8 walks.  He’s a strike thrower with all his pitches and can use his breaking stuff at any point in counts.

Most Likely To Make a Huge Jump in the Rankings in 2026 RJ Shields (2027, Venice, Fl.) Shields took some significant strides throughout 2025, especially on the mound. The fastball reached 95 mph in recent months and he projects well with great athleticism and a sharp breaking ball. Shields is also a left-handed bat with good thump in the stick. The Mississippi State commit shot up the rankings following a loud fall and looks poised to continue to climb. -KP High speed BP swing from '27 OF Gavin Ruvalcaba (FL)... #JrNational @Florida_PG https://t.co/OwU9I0u6eY pic.twitter.com/gjYZbmCPGE — PG Showcases (@PGShowcases) June 12, 2025 Gavin Ruvalcaba (2027, Hialeah, Fl.) Ruvalcaba had a very strong 2025 and looks to be continuing on that path. The Duke commit has plenty of athleticism and is very well rounded with good tools across the board. 14u Tourney All-American Team

Player of the Year: Asher Williams It was an incredible year for Williams that was rewarded with a trip to the 14U Select Fest, before some more impressive play in the fall. He came to the plate almost 250 times in PG tournaments throughout 2025 and reached base in well over half of them, hitting to a .500 AVG while slugging a 14U circuit best 12 bombs and driving in 113 runs. The numbers on the surface are ridiculous, but when you look at the high-level events he put them up in, it makes it even more impressive. Pitcher of the Year: Tristan Blalock Blalock earns this honor after a dominant 2025 where he struck out 85 batters in just 48.2 innings of work with a minuscule 1.58 ERA. This included several strong performances at many national level tournaments and showcases where he was able to bully some of the best hitters in the country. It’s hard not to fall in love with...

PG Draft: Gut Feel Guys

Tyler Henninger
Article Image
While we are nearing the turn of the calendar to the 2026 year, that means we are just inching closer to the beginning of the season for many high school players and college baseball is on the horizon. We are prepping for a reshuffle of the 2026 MLB Draft Board as well here amongst the PG Draft staff. But before we get to that, we sat down and have each picked a couple of players who are in the mix to get selected in a couple of different buckets.  We have prospects who could go into the Top 30 picks or so, prospects who could be selected in the Top 5 rounds, and prospects who could go inside of the Top 10 rounds. With the draft quite far down the road and a lot of re-shuffling to be done as these players play themselves into certain spots on the draft board, our scouts picked some players who fit into these “buckets” who are gut-feel guys. These are the guys that our PG...

Hitter of the Year: Landon Bonner The 2028 class saw many players from across the country take the next step in their development as they entered the High School ranks. There were huge performances from highly ranked players on the PG circuit as well as some under-the-radar guys who burst onto the scene. Landon Bonner came into Sophomore National as a Top 500 ranked player and after an impressive showing, left with all eyes on him as a rankings riser in the class. The left-handed hitting shortstop from The Colony, Texas, had a summer to remember with All-Tournament Team selections in three of his next four events culminating with a historic performance at the 2025 PG 15U WWBA National Championship. The Hebron High School prep went 20-for-24 in nine games for 5 Star Mafia 15U Black with four homeruns and 12 runs batted in. He also scored 17 runs and finished with a mind-boggling 2.500...

16u Tourney All-American Team

Hitter of the Year: Koa Romero is the Hitter of the Year for the 16u group, as he would come to every premier event of the summer and earn All-Tournament honors (Beast of the East, 16/17u WWBA, Jupiter) in every single one. Over 82 plate appearances, Romero would pump ten homeruns with forty two RBI and sixteen walks, good for a .378 average and 1.339 OPS. The performance on volume at the best events of the year pushed Romero over the edge here, as he’d hit a pair of homeruns in Jupiter (one of them at 112 EV) as an underclassmen and collect double digit hits in BOTH WWBA events with a combined six jacks over the two tournaments. It was a summer that combined performance and winning on the biggest stages for Romero. It’s a quiet left-handed swing that packs a punch. He would reap the benefits of his performances, earning a commitment to LSU and jumping to the #74 prospect in...

They dip into Mississippi to land one of the premier arms and one that’s stood out on the circuit for quite some time. It’s a fast arm and the athleticism certainly shines working down the slope. The velocity has continued to tick up over the last calendar year and reached into the low-90s towards the end of the summer. He’s confident in his changeup and the breaking ball is...

There’s a lot of talent throughout this 2026 class, filled with the big-name stars, to talent that spreads across the nation. It’s been a lot of fun seeing these prospects grow and develop over the years, from the days of watching some of these guys at the 13/14u days at events on the circuit, to now where they are all graduating seniors in 2026. There’s been new faces who have popped along the way over the years, even in 2026, where some players who were relatively undiscovered, have come out and made a name for themselves with a statement performance. Between the familiar and the new, there’s a lot of names on this list that are going to be quite regularly talked about on the circuit, and for good reason.  Whether it’s PG All-Americans or not, there’s a lot of names with superstar potential at the next level. We’ve got 14 PG All-Americans...

Finest in the Field: Class of 2026 | Class of 2027 | Class of 2028 These guys might just be entering high school, but they've certainly already made a name for themselves on the national circuit, especially with their abilities on the defensive side of things.  C: Xavier Rodriguez (Logansville, GA) Rodriguez is a polished defender with real arm strength behind the dish, while showcasing the ability to impact the baseball with authority to all fields evident by thirty of his sixty-five hits going for extra-bases including seven bombs. He handles high-level pitching extremely well, commands his staff and his offensive prowess makes him a true two-way asset. 1B: Cooper Knight (Buda, TX) Knight is a smooth operator at first base with plenty of range, fluidity and agility in his footwork around the bag. Best Game I Saw: The Dream NTL 18U vs. MBA Scout Team Murphy Jupiter always brings out the best, and we got fireworks from the jump. Turner Marshall gave The Dream an outstanding 4+ innings of work on the mound, holding a lethal MBA team at bay with Chance Dixon, Derrick Carter, and Ellis Appling providing an offensive spark out of the gate for the Georgia based boys. However, it was only a matter of time before the talent on the other side got going, as MBA erased a 3-run deficit in the 5th to take a 4-3 lead led by a Parker Loew HR. The Dream then took command again in the Top of the 6th, before MBA punched right back with a huge 5-run inning in the bottom half capped off by a clutch RBI single from Matthew Kerrigan, ending a wild sequence with tons of notable performances from two very competitive rosters. Best Tournament Performance I Saw: Surely someone has already brought this...

Nebraska Cornhuskers 2025 Highlights: The Cornhuskers were a difficult team to figure in ’25 as they finished with 33 wins, played just .500 (15-15) in the Big Ten but had some big wins at various times during the season and got hot at the right time. They knocked off then #16 Vanderbilt in the second game of the year, beat #5 Oregon State 2-out-of-3 at home in late March and then got hot at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha to win the Big Ten Tournament. They beat Michigan State in a 10-inning thriller before taking care of #4 Oregon, knocking off Penn State and then shutout #13 UCLA to punch their ticket to the Chapel Hill Regional. Head coach Will Bolt has now led his alma mater to three conference titles and three NCAA Regional appearances during his six years in Lincoln. No different than when he was a player, Bolt’s teams play with passion and toughness, this was never more...

Finest in the Field: Class of 2026 | Class of 2027 You like athletes? You like defenders who can impact a game at any given point? Look not further than this class as it's loaded from coast-to-coast with elite defenders all over the diamond.  C: Brogan Witcher, Bakersfield, CA Our scouting staff got several strong looks at Witcher whether that was at the Summer Kickoff, Sophomore National or the Underclass All American Games where he showcased his strong overall skillset and especially his advanced ability behind the plate. His 6-foot-3,180 pound build looks like one that will fill in quite nicely and be that big and physical catcher’s frame. His arm talent is undeniable where he gets it out quick and runs it up to 79 mph on throwdowns to 2nd (1.84 pop). Besides the standout catch/throw ability, we’ve seen him frame/receive strong arms and block it well during...
