Florida HS Dream Team & Top Tools

The senior class in Florida is well below average from the historical Florida norms if you only consider native Floridians.  Of that group, only three were 2024 Perfect Game All-Americans; shortstop Mario Magana, third baseman Dylan Dubovik and outfielder Lamar Edwards (Spruce Creek HS), who is not on the All-Florida Region team below.

What props up the 2025 class in Florida is the fact that the states many academies attract premium talent from across the country, in this case California, Iowa and North Carolina, and those players are considered part of the Florida Region for this exercise.  That means that Dean Moss and Linkin Garcia (California), Sean Gamble (Iowa) and Kelvyn Paulino Jr (North Carolina) all qualify as from the Florida Region.

It also helps the state that the 2026 class is very talented, headlined by two of the four top ranked players in the class nationally in shortstop Jacob Lombard and outfielder Brady Harris, along with a group of quality arms.  In all, 19 of the top 103 players in the 2026 class rankings are native Floridians.

IMG Academy, with three All-Region imports in Gamble, Paulino and Moss, are the top ranked team in the state and second overall in the country, although it should be noted that Moss is in his fourth year at IMG and Gamble his third.  Trinity Christian Academy, boosted by an incredible junior class, is the second ranked team in the state, checking in at number four, just ahead of number six Tampa Jesuit and number eight Marjory Stoneman Douglas.  Seven total Florida teams are listed in the pre-season PG Top 50 national rankings and there are sure to be more schools join that list during the highly competitive Florida prep season.

C --  Ty Harvey (Sr., Inspiration Academy, Fla.)

Harvey is a big and strong catcher whose best tool is his right-handed bat.  The Florida State signee hit .470-12-33 in 36 games as a junior at Inspiration Academy and is a three-year starter with 21 career home runs.  He also hit .482-3-17 in 24 games of Perfect Game play in 2024.  Harvey is currently ranked 117th in the PG 2025 class rankings.

1B  --  Max Murray Jr. (Sr., Hagarty HS, Fla.)

Murray Jr. is a talented all-around athlete who profiles as a first baseman at the college level but also has the tools to play third base and may be a two-way player with a fastball up to 91 mph who threw 70% strikes in PG play in 2024.  He’s a left-handed hitter with lots of raw power in his 6-3/210 build and is signed with Central Florida.

MIF --  Mario Magana (Sr., Columbus HS, Fla.)

Magana is a 2024 PG All-American and currently ranked 41st overall in the 2025 class.  He has an outstanding combination of size (6-3/195) and speed, with a 6.38 sixty to his credit.  Magana is also a switch-hitter at the plate with huge power potential from both sides.  He’s transferred from Braddock HS to Columbus HS for his senior year.

MIF --  Jacob Lombard (Jr., Gulliver Schools, Fla.)

Lombard is the second ranked player in the 2026 class nationally and has a higher ceiling than his former big league father, George, and his first round pick older brother, George Jr..  The youngest Lombard is a 6.30 runner who is a true shortstop and has huge offensive potential.  A right-handed hitter, Lombard hit .434-1-28 with 16 extra base hits in 21 games of PG play in 2024.

3B --  Kelvyn Paulino Jr (Sr., IMG Academy, Fla.)

Paulino is a pure hitter with one of the best bats in the 2025 class.  A 2024 PG All-American, he transferred to IMG Academy from North Carolina for his senior year and is ranked 46th overall in the PG class rankings.  Paulino hit .458-3-36 in 26 PG games in 2024 and stood out especially against the highest level pitching.  He is signed with Florida State.

OF –  Dean Moss (Sr., IMG Academy, Fla.)

Moss was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area but has been attending IMG Academy since he was a freshman.  The LSU signee has been known as one of the best left-handed hitters in the 2025 class since he was a 2020 13U Select Festival athlete and has improved tremendously as an athlete through his teen years.  He’s been a metronome at the plate in his six-year PG career, driving in 157 runs in 153 games, including .385-2-23 in 22 games in 2024.  Moss is ranked seventh in the 2025 class nationally.

OF –  Sean Gamble (Sr., IMG Academy, Fla.)

Gamble is originally from Des Moines, Iowa but has been attending IMG Academy since he was a sophomore.  He is the sixth ranked player in the 2024 class, the highest ranked outfielder and a 2024 PG All-American, along with being a two-time Select Festival athlete.  Gamble is an elite overall athlete with 6.42 speed, a 93 mph outfield arm and big league level left-handed bat speed.

OF –  Brady Harris (Jr., Trinity Christian Academy, Fla.)

Harris is the top ranked outfielder in the 2026 class nationally and is ranked fourth overall, giving Florida two of the very top junior prospects in the country with shortstop Jacob Lombard.  Harris has a Dylan Crews type tool/skill set with solid run/throw tools and exceptional bat speed and power potential on a still growing 6-2/180 frame.  He is committed to Florida.

RHP Aaron Watson (Sr., Trinity Christian Academy, Fla.)

Watson entered last summer with a scouting report that said he was a strike thrower with a mid to upper-80s fastball and a very athletic 6-5 build.  He gained significant velocity in 2024 and is now a 91-94 thrower with a solid three-pitch mix and the same ability to throw strikes and might have more velocity still to come.  Watson is a key to Trinity Christian’s state title hopes and is signed with Virginia.

LHP  Aiden Stillman (Sr., Trinity Prep, Fla.)

Stillman is the top ranked pitcher in Florida in the 2025 class, checking in at 50th overall nationally.  A Virginia signee who is sure to get extensive scouting attention this spring, Stillman has struck out 267 hitters in 153 innings in his four-year high school career, including 72 in 40 innings last spring.  He also pitched for the 2024 USA 18U National Team. Stillman relies on a fastball in the 90-95 mph range to go with a low 80s slider.

LHP Gio Rojas (Jr., Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS, Fla.)

Rojas, the 19th ranked player in the 2026 class, is ready for a huge breakout on both sides of the ball this spring.  He went 4-0, 0.66 with 41 strikeouts in 21 innings last spring and showed increased velocity in the summer and fall, topping out at 93 mph.  Rojas should also be an integral part of the Stoneman Douglas offensive attack after hitting .322 last spring and .462-2-16 in 2024 PG play.  He is a Miami commit.

RHP Wilson Andersen (Jr., Tampa Jesuit HS, Fla.)

The 6-4/190 Andersen is the top ranked right-handed pitcher in the 2026 class nationally and the 14th ranked overall prospect.  He struck out 13 hitters in 6 innings at the WWBA 16U National Championships and was 93-96 mph with a swing and miss slider at the Perfect Game All-Star Game and still has big projection remaining.  Despite pitching for one of the top high school programs in the country in Tampa Jesuit, Andersen is already a two-year varsity contributor with 86 strikeouts in 59 innings.

RHP Charlie Willcox (Sr., South Walton HS, Fla.)

Willcox is a strong (6-3/215) and very athletic (6.78 sixty) right-hander who has a solid three-pitch mix, including a 91-94 mph fastball, a low 80s curveball with 2500+ rpm and a firm change up.  He’s posted a 14-3, 2.32 record in two years as a starter for South Walton High School and is signed with Georgia Tech.  Willcox currently ranks 58th nationally in the 2025 class

Utility  --  Linkin Garcia (Sr., A3 Academy, Fla.)

The 6-3/195 Garcia transferred into Florida from Huntington Beach (CA) High School, where he only played third base as a junior.  He’s been up to 96 mph on the mound and was a strike thrower on the 2024 summer circuit.  The right-hitting Garcia was also a dominant hitter on the 2024 summer circuit, hitting .444-4-25 in 30 games while showing an advanced ability to control the strike zone.  The 92nd ranked player in the country, Garcia is signed with Texas Tech.

Top Tools in the Florida Region

Best Hitter for Average: Sean Gamble (Sr., IMG Academy, Fla.)

Gamble has an ideal combination as a left-handed hitter of raw bat speed, barrel skills and running speed to project as a high average hitter.  There’s plenty of power potential there, too, but it all starts with his ability to square up balls.

Best Hitter for Power: Coleman Borthwick (Jr., South Walton HS, Fla.)

Florida is loaded with big power potential hitters but it’s hard to not highlight the 6-6/240 Borthwick.  Not only does he have huge size and strength but has shown significant barrel skills to get to that power, having hit .453 in two years of high school play and .424 in PG play, both with more walks than strikeouts.  Borthwick is also a two-way prospect who has been up to 94 mph on the mound.

Best Runner: Jacob Lombard (Jr., Gulliver Schools, Fla.)

Lombard’s 6.30 sixty stands out but not as much as the easy way he moves on the field, both defensively and on the bases.  It’s easy to see him running even lower at major PG showcases in 2025.

Best Defensive Catcher: Jose Lopez (Sr., A3 Academy, Fla.)

Lopez has an excellent combination of size and durability at 6-1/210 and the overall athletic quickness that enables him to be a high-level defensive catcher.  A 6.73 runner, Lopez also has a plus arm that has registered 83 mph behind the plate, 90 mph off the mound and 95 mph in infield drills.  He is signed with Grand Canyon.

Best Defensive Infielder: Jacob Lombard (Jr., Gulliver Schools, Fla.)

Lombard is an easy athletic glider on the dirt who gets to everything and plays with seemingly little effort.  It’s basically a tossup between he and Texas shortstop Grady Emerson for who is the top prospect in the 2026 class nationally.

Best Defensive Outfielder: Dean Moss (Sr., IMG Academy, Fla.)

Any of the three All-Region outfielders could win this award and Gamble and Harris technically have better overall tool sets than Moss.  But Moss, who began his high school career first baseman, keeps making outstanding catches at major events, including the best defensive play at the PG All-American Classic.

Best Defensive Arm: Dylan Dubovik (Sr., St. Andrews HS, Fla.)

A 2024 PG All-American, Dubovik is a primary third baseman who has the speed (6.59) to play the outfield as well.  He also has one of the strongest arms in this or any high school class, having thrown 101 mph from the outfield, 98 mph from the infield and 93 mph from them mound.  Dubovik is signed with Miami.

Best Fastball: Wilson Andersenn (Jr., Tampa Jesuit HS, Fla.)

There’s no telling how hard Andersen will be throwing by the time he finishes his high school career and is eligible for the 2026 draft.  He’s relatively young for his class and was sitting mid-90s and throwing strikes when he was 16 years old.

Best Off-Speed Stuff: Charlie Willcox (Sr., South Walton HS, Fla.)

Willcox uses his power curveball in the low 80s as his strikeout pitch and it plays very well with his high spin riding fastball.  His firm mid-80s changeup grades out just as well as his curveball and he profiles as an ideal three pitch starter with a big mature body and above average command.

Best Pitchability: Gio Rojas (Jr., Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS, Fla.)

Rojas comes at hitters with a low 90s fastball, a low 80s slider that he commands very well and a solid upper 70s changeup and seems to often toy with hitters.  Along with his 2024 high school strikeout numbers, he’s fanned 48 hitters in his last 29 PG innings over the last two years.

Best Multi-Sport Athlete: Jacob Lombard (Jr., Gulliver Schools, Fla.)

Soccer is an unusual secondary sport for a standout baseball player but Lombard has proven to be almost as good on the soccer pitch as he has the baseball field.  He’s been a starter for Gulliver’s 2023 and 2024 State Class 4 Soccer Champions, scoring the winning goal in the 2024 championship game.

MVPitcher: Duncan McLeod The uncommitted junior toed the slab in three of the four games for Team Mick, tossing 3 2/3 innings.  Zero walks, zero hits and 6 punchouts for the lefty who was used both as a starter in the series clinching game 4 and he closed out game 3 on Friday in quick fashion.  McLeod was very efficient as well, needing just 42 pitches over all his outings.  In the game 4 start, over two innings he punched out 3, with one strikeout with all of his offerings.  The mid 80’s fastball regularly played up, set up with efficient use of the secondaries, with the breaking ball 73/74 and fading change-up 72-74.   Owen Bone (2026) at it again... 13u Tourney All-American Team

What a year it was in 2025 on the national landscape at the 13u level as Perfect Game continues to expand its reach around the country, providing an even bigger schedule of events coast-to-coast which has allowed players all over show out and gain their deserved recognition. Whether in Texas for the Houston 1000 or the 13u WWBA in West Palm Beach, we saw huge, eye opening performances from the players placed below, knowing that we could EASILY build a third team and likely a fourth without much effort.  As we do every year with this exercise, it's worth pointing out the trickiness of this age group and putting the teams together with the 13u group. While the players are all members of the Class of 2030, some are younger for the grade, which allowed them to play at the 12u level where's it's a smaller field, shorter mound distance and different bats, so we'll separate them out and...

Player of the Year: Asher Williams It was an incredible year for Williams that was rewarded with a trip to the 14U Select Fest, before some more impressive play in the fall. He came to the plate almost 250 times in PG tournaments throughout 2025 and reached base in well over half of them, hitting to a .500 AVG while slugging a 14U circuit best 12 bombs and driving in 113 runs. The numbers on the surface are ridiculous, but when you look at the high-level events he put them up in, it makes it even more impressive. Pitcher of the Year: Tristan Blalock Blalock earns this honor after a dominant 2025 where he struck out 85 batters in just 48.2 innings of work with a minuscule 1.58 ERA. This included several strong performances at many national level tournaments and showcases where he was able to bully some of the best hitters in the country. It’s hard not to fall in love with...

PG Draft: Gut Feel Guys

Tyler Henninger
Article Image
While we are nearing the turn of the calendar to the 2026 year, that means we are just inching closer to the beginning of the season for many high school players and college baseball is on the horizon. We are prepping for a reshuffle of the 2026 MLB Draft Board as well here amongst the PG Draft staff. But before we get to that, we sat down and have each picked a couple of players who are in the mix to get selected in a couple of different buckets.  We have prospects who could go into the Top 30 picks or so, prospects who could be selected in the Top 5 rounds, and prospects who could go inside of the Top 10 rounds. With the draft quite far down the road and a lot of re-shuffling to be done as these players play themselves into certain spots on the draft board, our scouts picked some players who fit into these “buckets” who are gut-feel guys. These are the guys that our PG...

Hitter of the Year: Landon Bonner The 2028 class saw many players from across the country take the next step in their development as they entered the High School ranks. There were huge performances from highly ranked players on the PG circuit as well as some under-the-radar guys who burst onto the scene. Landon Bonner came into Sophomore National as a Top 500 ranked player and after an impressive showing, left with all eyes on him as a rankings riser in the class. The left-handed hitting shortstop from The Colony, Texas, had a summer to remember with All-Tournament Team selections in three of his next four events culminating with a historic performance at the 2025 PG 15U WWBA National Championship. The Hebron High School prep went 20-for-24 in nine games for 5 Star Mafia 15U Black with four homeruns and 12 runs batted in. He also scored 17 runs and finished with a mind-boggling 2.500...

Hitter of the Year: Koa Romero is the Hitter of the Year for the 16u group, as he would come to every premier event of the summer and earn All-Tournament honors (Beast of the East, 16/17u WWBA, Jupiter) in every single one. Over 82 plate appearances, Romero would pump ten homeruns with forty two RBI and sixteen walks, good for a .378 average and 1.339 OPS. The performance on volume at the best events of the year pushed Romero over the edge here, as he’d hit a pair of homeruns in Jupiter (one of them at 112 EV) as an underclassmen and collect double digit hits in BOTH WWBA events with a combined six jacks over the two tournaments. It was a summer that combined performance and winning on the biggest stages for Romero. It’s a quiet left-handed swing that packs a punch. He would reap the benefits of his performances, earning a commitment to LSU and jumping to the #74 prospect in...

They dip into Mississippi to land one of the premier arms and one that’s stood out on the circuit for quite some time. It’s a fast arm and the athleticism certainly shines working down the slope. The velocity has continued to tick up over the last calendar year and reached into the low-90s towards the end of the summer. He’s confident in his changeup and the breaking ball is...

There’s a lot of talent throughout this 2026 class, filled with the big-name stars, to talent that spreads across the nation. It’s been a lot of fun seeing these prospects grow and develop over the years, from the days of watching some of these guys at the 13/14u days at events on the circuit, to now where they are all graduating seniors in 2026. There’s been new faces who have popped along the way over the years, even in 2026, where some players who were relatively undiscovered, have come out and made a name for themselves with a statement performance. Between the familiar and the new, there’s a lot of names on this list that are going to be quite regularly talked about on the circuit, and for good reason.  Whether it’s PG All-Americans or not, there’s a lot of names with superstar potential at the next level. We’ve got 14 PG All-Americans...

Finest in the Field: Class of 2026 | Class of 2027 | Class of 2028 These guys might just be entering high school, but they've certainly already made a name for themselves on the national circuit, especially with their abilities on the defensive side of things.  C: Xavier Rodriguez (Logansville, GA) Rodriguez is a polished defender with real arm strength behind the dish, while showcasing the ability to impact the baseball with authority to all fields evident by thirty of his sixty-five hits going for extra-bases including seven bombs. He handles high-level pitching extremely well, commands his staff and his offensive prowess makes him a true two-way asset. 1B: Cooper Knight (Buda, TX) Knight is a smooth operator at first base with plenty of range, fluidity and agility in his footwork around the bag. Best Game I Saw: The Dream NTL 18U vs. MBA Scout Team Murphy Jupiter always brings out the best, and we got fireworks from the jump. Turner Marshall gave The Dream an outstanding 4+ innings of work on the mound, holding a lethal MBA team at bay with Chance Dixon, Derrick Carter, and Ellis Appling providing an offensive spark out of the gate for the Georgia based boys. However, it was only a matter of time before the talent on the other side got going, as MBA erased a 3-run deficit in the 5th to take a 4-3 lead led by a Parker Loew HR. The Dream then took command again in the Top of the 6th, before MBA punched right back with a huge 5-run inning in the bottom half capped off by a clutch RBI single from Matthew Kerrigan, ending a wild sequence with tons of notable performances from two very competitive rosters. Best Tournament Performance I Saw: Surely someone has already brought this...
