2017 14u Perfect Game Select Baseball Festival event page
With the announcement of the 2017 14u PG Select Baseball Festival returning to JetBlue Park – home of the Red Sox Spring Training facility – in Fort Myers, Florida, Sept. 1-3, there are more opportunities than ever for 14u aged players or 2021 grads to qualify for the nationally televised event. To be eligible for the event players must participate in at least one Perfect Game event during the year.
Listed below are some of Perfect Game’s flagship tournament events, where the level of competition will be as high as ever, that players can attend to qualify and be noticed by the Perfect Game scouting staff (click on the event name to visit the event page).
2021 Grads or 14u WWBA National Championship
June 23-30
The WWBA National Championships are some of the highest-attended and highest-quality events that Perfect Game produces. Held at the PG Park South fields at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia, the week-long 14u event features a multitude of opportunities for players to show off their talent and play in highly-competitive games. Last year’s champions were the Roadrunners and they were led by eventual PG Select Baseball Festival participants Dalton Pearson, the event MVP, and Patrick Holloman, the MV-Pitcher. An additional 11 other players who were eventually selected to play in the inaugural 14u PG Select participated in the 2016 14u WWBA National Championship.
14u PG Super25 National Championship
July 2-8
The PG Super25 continues to grow year after year and following a very competitive 2016, 2017 looks to be jam-packed with talent. The GoWags Lumberkings took home the 14u crown last year and the tournament saw a trio of players that would end up participating in the PG Select Baseball Festival including lefthanded pitcher Jackson Phipps, righthander Hank Bearden and outfielder Hudson Sapp.
14u BCS Finals
July 4-10
The Baseball Championship Series (BCS) is the top event run in the state of Florida over the course of the summer. The talent pool is extremely deep and is home to some of the finest talent especially in the Florida and Southeast region. Last year 12 players from the BCS Finals were selected to participate in the inaugural PG Select Baseball Festival.
14u PG The Series Classic
July 8-14
The 14u PG Series Classic is an event designed to bring together top-level talent from across the United States, and beyond, to one place. After the first day of the event, in which players perform a series of skills tests, the players are divided into teams, created by the PG Series staff, and play a series of pool play games before advancing to bracket play to determine the event champion. Last year the East Georgia team beat SoCal 12-4 in the championship game and a pair of players from the event ended up participating in the 14u PG Select: Lucas Costello and Johnny Castagnozzi. 14u Perfect Game World Series
July 24-28
The crown jewel of the summer tournament season are the World Series events that Perfect Game hosts. Elite Squad came away with the 14u title last season and the event as a whole saw a number of players who later on accepted invitations to play in the PG Select Baseball Festival.
Perfect Game will also be introducing the inaugural 14u National Showcase that will be held August 5-6 at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers. The event will be similar to the National Showcase for high school juniors, as players will run the 60-yards dash, perform infield and outfield drills, taking batting practice and play in PG showcase-style games as they are being evaluated and graded by scouts. Participants for the PG Select Baseball Festival will be identified during this event as well as the tournaments throughout the year.
