2020 Top Prospects

JuanCarlos Coronado  RHP - 2020 - Corpus Christi, TX

Coronado stood out in a big way on the mound, with a fastball that exploded out of his hand up to 91 mph with good life and feel to spin a breaking ball. He also has really athletic actions to go along with that loud arm strength in the infield.

Robbie Coronado  C - 2020 - Corpus Christi, TX

Coronado's defensive tools behind the plate stand out first and foremost, with very good quick twitch and arm strength, giving him high-end catch-and-throw skills. He's got good strength to his body as well, and showed off intriguing pull-side raw power as a result.

Oscar Gael-Cuello  LHP - 2020 - Laredo, TX

Possessing excellent pitchability, Gael-Cuello was dominant in his time on the mound, painting both sides of the plate with a fastball that worked 82-85 mph, a good curveball with excellent shape and bite, and a fading changeup that he's very comfortable with.

Tyran Norris  OF - 2020 - Pearland, TX
Galveston College

Norris had a loud weekend overall, showing off his athleticism with a 6.68 second 60 yard dash, range and defensive ability in the outfield, a strong 87 mph arm, and loud in-game at-bats resulting in hard contact.

Ethan Box  1B - 2020 - Katy, TX
Howard College

Box's physicality and overall strength stand out in big ways, as he's able to drive baseballs consistently and with authority, creating a tremendous offensive presence who has the look of a middle-of-the-order bat at the collegiate level.

Cayden Smith  3B - 2020 - Mansfield, TX

Smith's offensive tools stand out as the calling cards to his profile, as he possesses an excellent combination of strength, bat speed, and intent to his offensive game. He squared up several rockets over the course of the weekend, including a missile of a homer that left the yard in a hurry.

Spencer Beck  SS - 2020 - Friendswood, TX

Beck showed well with the bat especially, showing off quick hands and lots of strength through the zone, driving the ball up both gaps with jump and carry. He also showed solid athleticism and an 83 mph IF arm.

Kanyon Rosson  OF - 2020 - Carrollton, TX

Rosson's quality athleticism and arm strength play well in the outfield, and his offensive game gives him a complete profile overall. He's able to line the ball to all fields with a good approach in addition to a fair bit of extra-base power as well.

Braden Benton  3B - 2020 - Lubbock, TX

Benton's arm strength and righthanded raw power at the plate stand out as his loudest tools, clocked up to 85 mph across the diamond during workouts and doing a nice job of consistently getting the barrel out and driving the ball pull side with good carry and strength.

Jack Murphy  SS - 2020 - Austin, TX

Murphy has good size and solid athleticism to complement his overall game. There's plenty of arm strength in the middle infield to his profile, clocked up to 86 mph, and he showed intriguing ability to drive the ball up the opposite field gap when swinging.

John Moeller  OF - 2020 - San Antonio, TX
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Moeller dominated on the mound, missing a lot of bats through his outing by commanding 3 quality pitches in a fastball up to 83 mph, a breaking ball with good shape, and a fading changeup. He also showed good all-around athleticism and tools, with good contact skills at the plate.

Aidan Warren  3B - 2020 - Dripping Springs, TX

Warren has a quality overall toolset, with good speed (6.78 second 60 yard dash) and athleticism that play well in the middle infield in addition to good arm strength. He handles the bat well, spraying line drives around the field with a high-contact swing approach.
