47-Orange vs. 49-Red

12/30/2023

Gabriel Coupet (2028 SS, Boynton Beach, FL) had the loudest hit of the game, a smashed double that one hopped the wall in left field. The physical hitting tools are exciting such as his quick hands and fast hips.

Peter Seirafi, Jr. (2028 OF, Jupiter, FL) made a number of impressive defensive plays, showing the range in the outfield and the ability to hold angles and change routes on a whim.

43-Black vs. 44-Navy Highlights

12/30/2023

Mason Porven (2028 2B, Homestead, FL) took one of the louder swings of the game when he doubled to center field, getting the barrel out on a center-cut fastball and squaring it up. He has a projectable frame and loose stroke.

Henry Schrum (2028 C, Fargo, ND) showed off some hand strength and barrel speed in this one, jumping all over a pitch in a hittable spot and barreling it pull-side for a knock.

Brady Schutter (2028 SS, Hudsonville, MI) has a lean frame with plenty of projection and a smooth, quick lefthanded stroke that he covers the plate well with. He took some good swings in this game and is a name to keep an eye on as he matures.

Cru Visconti (2027 RHP, Ravenna, MI) had one of the bigger swings of the day when he picked up a 2-RBI single later in this one. Visconti is a two-way player with good all-around tools and upside, also showing well on the mound earlier in this event.

49-Red vs. 50-White Game Highlights

12/30/2023

Logan Hash (2028 C, Noblesville, IN) ran the fastball up to 77 mph and showed a quick arm. There's good shape to the breaking ball and upside here.

45-Gold vs 46-Royal Game Highlights

12/30/2023

Grady Callaway (2028 C, White House, TN) got the ball rolling here on the offensive end with a solid barrel to left center field.

Luke Pellicer (2028 3B, Fort Myers, FL) had a solid two inning appearance for his squad, mixing and matching the fastball (sat 68-71) with a solid spinner in the low 60s band. Came out of the hand more firm than the average low 70s heater, will really benefit from more size.

Wyatt North (2028 OF, Morriston, FL) put a charge into a 2B that burned the CF's head, collecting the first XBH of the day for his team. Really long and athletic looking frame with a good chance to fill out, good chance down the line to develop into a intriguing prospect. Taking the mound in the 3rd here, North grabbed 76-mph from a lower three-quartes slot, interesting prospect to monitor.

Nick Wright (2028 OF, Tampa, FL) gets credit for the best barrel of the day, getting a center cut heater off the best velocity of the day as well and putting it over the LF's head for a double. Direct swing with some hand speed, impressive piece for a '28.

-Michael Albee

46-Royal vs. 43-Black Game Highlights

12/29/2023

Nathan Reaney (2028 RHP, Vista, CA) showed a lot of things to like in the outing for 46-Royal. The right-hander ran the fastball up to 80 mph with a tight slider and ability to spin in all counts. The projection is great as well.

Luke Pellicer (2028 3B, Fort Myers, FL) inside outed one down the right field line for a 3B in the middle innings for 46-Royal. He has good physical projection and will continue adding strength. The bat-to-ball skills are solid and works line to line in the approach.

43-Black vs. 45-Gold

12/30/2023

Nick Potter (2028 RHP, Jenison, MI) is a physically built right-hander who made the trip from Michigan and impressed immediately, running the fastball up to 84 mph against the first batter he faced. He turned over a changeup in the low-70s and mixed an upper-60s curveball, steadily sitting in the low-80s with the fastball to punch out a pair in the first.

Tyler DeHaan (2028 RHP, Humboldt, TN) is able to create some deception in his delivery and it shows with the amount of uncomfortable swings he was able to miss bat after bat, striking out a couple early on while also inducing weak contact early in the count. The fastball sat in the mid-70s with short running life and he mixed in a curveball effectively in the upper-60s.

Yu Suefuji (2027 SS, Bradenton, FL) put a nice swing on the ball in his first at-bat of the showcase, turning around an elevated pit h that he was able to get the barrel out on, connecting for a loud double out to the pull side.

Cru Visconti (2027 RHP, Ravenna, MI) countered for the Black offense with a double of his own in the next half inning, taking an outer half pitch the other way, lofting a pitch into the left-center field gap for a two base knock. He proved to be effective on the mound as well, working a very efficient first inning as he filled the zone with a fastball in the mid-70s and induced weak contact early in the count.

Kaleb Williams (2028 1B, Tampa, FL) wasted little time in making his presence felt for the Gold offense as he saw first pitch heater and attacked, sending a booming double out to center field to kick off the inning. He followed it up with another missile off the barrel, scorching a ball past the glove of the third baseman for a loud single.

44-Navy vs. 45-Gold

12/30/2023

Julian Connell (2028 OF, Pembroke Pines, FL) wasted little time getting things going for the Navy squad offensively as he hit lead off for the club and managed to pick up a single to shallow center field. He also showed off his athleticism in center field as he tracked down a deep fly ball in the gap.

Peyton Conto (2028 RHP, Hopewell Junction, NY) got the start for Navy on the bump and he did a nice job of filling up the strike zone, running his fastball up to 74 mph while showing a big breaker with 12-6 shape to help strike out the side in the first. He ended the outing with 6 strikeouts over 3 innings of work.

For the second inning in a row Navy had the leadoff hitter on as Harrison Milanowski (2028 SS, Dothan, AL) turned around a fastball for a well struck ground ball down the third base line to kick things off in the second.

Grady Callaway (2028 C, White House, TN) was efficient during his time on the mound, working around the zone with a fastball that topped out at 79 mph while showing some cutting action out of a simple delivery on the bump. He struck out 4 over his two innings of work.

Kaleb Williams (2028 1B, Tampa, FL) continued to destroy baseballs into game two on the day as he barreled yet another baseball down the pull side line, showing excellent bat speed before making his way into second base. In his next trip to the plate, Williams collected his second double of the day after a long at-bat, squaring up another double down the left field line.

Dennis Martino (2028 3B, Tampa, FL) got the hands extended and lined a single into left-center field for a well struck single, kick starting the Navy offense.

50- White vs. 47- Orange Game Highlights

12/29/2023

Starting on the mound for 47- Orange Tillman Schroeder (2028, Park Ridge, N.J.) impressed. The live-armed Jersey native ran it up to 82 while showing standout feel to spin a downer curveball as well. The velocity projects big moving forward.

Nolan Slaymaker (2028, Fort White, Fl.) displayed big upside on the hill. The long right-hander produced effortless velocity, working in the 81-83 range consistently. The fastball features heavy bore and Slaymaker also showed a curveball with good depth and the ability to land it.

Gavin Jones (2028, Monee, Ill.) picked up a base hit in his first at-bat of the game, turning around a fastball for a really nice piece of hitting to the opposite field. The primary shortstop has a strong all-around game and can pick it up the middle.

Preston Emmons (2028, Windermere, Fl.) stroked a hard shot through the left side in the fifth. The 6-foot-2 right-handed stick can put a charge into it and the power upside is obvious. He also stepped on the mound and threw a scoreless frame.

49- Red vs. 48- Purple Game Highlights

12/29/2023

Trent Sparks (2028, New Bern, N.C.) opened up with some loud stuff on the bump, running it up to 80 from a fast arm. The right-hander mixed in a nasty breaking ball that drew swing-and-miss as well. He also picked up a base hit on a drive up the middle.

Drake Diaz (2028, Scott, La.) picked up a knock in the bottom of the first, sending an 80 mph fastball the other way for a single. The Louisiana native possesses quality barrel skills as well as a functional swing.

Crews Gibes (2028, New Brockton, Ala.) got the start for 48- Purple and commanded the heater well. The lower slot allows for deception and the righty has the ability to miss bats with the breaker as well.

Wyatt Simons (2028, Brooklyn, N.Y.) came out pumping with a heavy diet of fastball, allowing for many empty swings. The primary right-hander has a fast shoulder and has also swung it well in Fort Myers.

Jesse Covington (2028, Greensboro, N.C.) put a charge into a ball pull side in the final inning, settling for a double. The ball jumps off of Covington’s bat and the power really projects moving forward.

43-Black vs. 45-Gold

12/29/2023
