Batting Practice Highlights - Showcase
Ben Auer (2026, St. Charles, Ill.) swung it well during BP, creating separation and driving hard into contact. He worked the middle-of-the-field and backside gap early on, peppering a few into the pull-side gap later in the round. He showed good turns for a solid round of swings.
Cole Clower (2028, Shorewood, Ill.) handled the barrel well during BP showing off some twitch in the swing with good bat speed on display. He drove the ball deep to right center and was able to lift & launch with ease during his round. He showed real impact with juice during his round of swings.
Aden Gutierrez (2028, Palos Hills, Ill.) showed off a loose stroke with some whip to it during BP. It was a quiet operation in the lower half with bat speed to impact it well. He was able to impact well working to the pull-side during his round of BP swings.
Joshua Luciano (2026, Chicago, Ill.) put together some good swings during BP with line drives all over the field throughout the round. He turns hard through contact and was able to lift a few at the end of his round with some jump off the barrel. Had a couple of nice barrels working pull-side.
ET Data (2027, Chicago, Ill.) showed off a clean left-handed stroke as he engaged the back hip well with some bat speed and impact. He gets great jump off the barrel, showing bat speed and impact to do damage pull-side. Also sent one screaming back up the middle in the air near the end of his round.
Landon Ehman (2026, Frankfort, Ill.) had a good round of swings, showing some fluidity to his operation. He impacted well out in front and worked gap-to-gap with a quality round of results, working on the barrel pretty consistently.
Jack Etchason (2025, Park Ridge. Ill.) took some good hacks during BP, showing off bat speed and hard turns to do damage. He worked pull-side early and peppered the gaps with some loud barrels, being on the barrel often throughout the round. He flashed the juice with some of his swings.
Logan Mackin (2027, Minooka, Ill.) pieced together a round of BP swings where he showed some serious ability to impact it. He had strength off the barrel with a real physical frame that allowed him to work backside and hit some balls real hard during his round.
Brayden Walls (2027, Schererville, Ind.) had a smooth lefty stroke, working inward to contact with loose wrists and a feel to impact out in front. He had some ability to lift the ball backside and was able to consistently make good contact and drive it.
Colton Francisco (2028, Minooka, Ill.) swung it well today with an aggressive move to contact, creating some jump off of the barrel. He delivered the barrel well on a shorter path and was able to drive the ball, working pull-side throughout his round of swings, impacting it well.
Chase Holtzman (2026, Plainfield, Ill.) found the barrel often during his round of BP swings. He lifted it backside and then was able to work up the middle for a solid round of BP swings. He stays shorter to it with good extension and it allowed for a quality round from the right-hander.
Holden Loy (2028, Leclaire, Iowa) showed some whip to the barrel, being able to get extended and turn on pitches. He impacted well, working to the pull-side part of the field during his round of swings. Pretty loose operation from the right-handed hitter.
Bryce Baxa (2028, Yorkville, Ill.) had a big load and stride into contact that allowed him to impact well and show off the juice. He was direct with the barrel and could impact, showing good bat speed to drive the ball well during his round of BP.
Xavier Martin (2027, Chicago, Ill.) had some quickness to the barrel that allowed him to impact it and drive it well. He turns hard through it and gets some jump off of it, working pull-side with ease. Martin put together a quality round of swings.
Max Soffin (2027, Chesterton, Ind.) swung it well from the left side with an aggressive stroke and feel-to-impact working pull-side. He produced some hard-hit line drives, delivering the barrel out in front to connect and do damage. His best swings were pull-side and up the middle.
Camden Taylor (2026, Morton, Ill.) was another left-hander who showed off traits to like in the box. He was able to work uphill and launch with good bat speed, supporting his swing. He worked gap-to-gap with some loud swings working up the middle during his round of BP.
Shane Torres (2027, Aurora, Ill.) had a slightly inward move to contact, staying shorter to contact, turning hard, launching the ball, and doing damage. He was able to deliver the barrel with good strength & bat speed to find the barrel often during his round of swings.
Justin Smart (2026, Buffalo Grove, Ill.) had some strength behind the swings and was able to catch some barrels. He turned hard and impacted out front for a few pull-side barrels. He used the whole field throughout his round of swings, though.
Barrett Schifferdecker (2028, Northbrook, Ill.) put together a quality round of BP swings, being able to stay short to it and find the barrel often. He stayed on-time and worked the middle of the field with some jump off the barrel to turn on a couple of working pull-side.
