*Rk. Denotes National Rank in PG HS Class of 2022

After what could be considered a somewhat down year for Auburn going 25-27, they buckled down and landed a ton of recruits over the course of the year. They will look to bounce back next season and could have some key pieces stepping onto campus the following fall, creating a domino effect of winning over the next few years.

For the second year in a row, they are headlined by an All-American catcher sitting atop the recruiting rankings. Ike Irish, the Michigan native, will look to add power to the lineup while getting it done behind the dish defensively. Irish possesses not only the tools, but the intangibles to lead a program to the very top. If he is to make it to campus, look for him to step in and be a huge impact player immediately.

Auburn also left the state and snagged three arms all ranked inside the top-175, which could be huge as they lost three arms to the MLB Draft just last year and will be looking for those already on campus to step up. Hayden Murphy, who is one of the top arms in the Southeast, will be a huge addition to the staff as we have already seen him up into the mid-90s during some of his prep outings. They will also add a pair of left-handers in Zach Crotchfelt and Beau Bryans. Both southpaws have mid-90s heat and secondaries to go with. All three of these guys have the stuff to throw in the SEC right now and could even have more electric stuff with another spring high school season to go before they take their talents to the next level.

With Ryan Bliss being selected in the draft this year, Auburn knew they would need to bring in some middle infield talent and did just that with a somewhat local prospect in Landon Russell. Russell will likely pull double duty both on the mound and in the box but either way, he seems to be a sure-handed fielder who can step in and help with the everyday demands in the middle infield.

It would be a shame to not mention one of the most prolific athletes Auburn has seen in a while in Chris Stanfield. He is pure speed and twitch, as Stanfield ran a smooth 6.36 second 60-yard dash and has a rocket for an arm, throwing it around in the mid-90s during drills. There is no doubt Stanfield will be an immediate impact guy and it will be fun to watch it all unfold.

As of today, the Tigers have 17 committed prospects, with five right-handers and the same number of lefties. They will have nine prospects who are all ranked inside the top-500 nationally in the PG database. Auburn has high hopes for the upcoming 2022 season as they look to turn it around and create a winning culture surrounding the incoming prospects of the 2022 class.
