Zach Crotchfelt is a 2022 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Jackson, NJ who attends Jackson Memorial. He ran a 7.31 second sixty. A primary left-handed pitcher with a large athletic build. On the mound he sat 83-87 mph with his fastball working cross body with a closed landing and low effort in the delivery, he showed an easy arm action with the ability to repeat it at a high level and fill up the zone, he does a nice job tunneling his slider form the same extended three-quarters arm slot with true sweeping action, he also mixed in a changeup on occasion in the upper 70's with varying arm speeds, he has a good feel for the mound and knows how to control the pace. At first base he showed good feel for the glove and looked natural fielding the position and making strong accurate throws. In the outfield he works aggressively to the ball with developing footwork, the arm works long and free through the back stroke creating low carry on the throws from a lower arm slot at 92 mph. At the plate he starts open from the left side with a coiled load creating good torque in the swing, he has some hand strength at the point of contact with the intent to lift the ball to the pull side. Named to the 2020 PG Underclass All American Games Top Prospect List. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Auburn.
